I collected several quotes on a large project to completely remove my backyard (approx 90 x 30 lot), add fresh soil, re-pitch, and fix a drainage problem we have had by installing drain tiles. I was under a time constraint and David worked with me and did the entire project while I was out of the country. He always kept me up to date with pictures, videos, and text messages explaining what he was finding. The project turned out to be even larger than anticipated when a lot of concrete and asphalt was found in our soil (yard used to be a parking lot). Realizing he could probably get a bobcat through my entry door to my garage he hired someone to remove the door and frame in the morning so he could get the bobcat back there and had the door re-installed in the evening. David kept in touch with me after the project was complete and I was still out of the country. He came back to the site to adjust the sprinklers and make sure the sod was doing well. It honestly blows my mind how much work David and his team did in the span of 4-5 days. I used JD Flores Landscaping to replace artificial lawn with regular sod in my back yard. I had just purchased the house in Skokie, and this was our top priority. The job was a little more complicated than normal because the synthetic lawn was built on around 6 inches of sand/gravel, so the excavation aspect was fairly significant. Having received quotes from a few landscapers, I chose JD Flores because they were able to clearly articulate how they would approach the work, the price was competitive and they provided a clean quote with the work breakdown. On the day of the job, David's crew arrived on time and worked hard throughout the day to excavate and lay down new soil. David provided updates during the day to explain how the work was progressing. So that the sod would be as fresh as possible, David's crew laid down newly ordered sod a couple of days later, and provided advice on how to take care of it. Finally, David visited the following day to review all the work with me to ensure I was satisfied. We've been using this landscaper for a few years. We had to call them to get them to send us an invoice so we could pay him. There would be services stated on the invoice that we never received. I can never get the owner David on the phone. When I called him to ask why he hadn't come by to cut our lawn his response was you didn't call to tell me.
