The online and mobile platforms have been fully migrated to Mechanics Bank's systems. I successfully authenticated through a desktop browser, updated my credentials, and remain logged in with the new password and existing username. After installing the mobile app, I attempted to log in using the same verified credentials. The system responded with a message indicating that, "for my security," I am locked out of mobile access for 24 hours. I am unable to locate any two‑factor authentication (2FA) configuration options within the browser interface. In 2026, not enabling 2FA by default--and not providing a clear method to manage authentication factors--is a significant security oversight. The combination of a 24‑hour lockout and the absence of configurable authentication controls suggests a rigid, outdated security model that prioritizes friction over actual protection. Given these issues, I am not willing to risk locking myself out of my business account until the authentication workflow and security settings are clarified and corrected.

I've asked them to stop doing this but they just say it is automatic. B.S. There was no reason on earth to suspect any illicit activity on my card today and I had to waste about 10 minutes going through my transactions with a rep to get it straightened out. Now, I have to wait about an hour before it is activated. They say they sent me a text but I DO NOT have an I phone and do not see texts. I think it is still legal to NOT have an I phone. If my SS payment didn't go through them, I would change banks.

She went in and got to talk to a Manager Karen who was already accusative and with very poor costumer service right from the start. I had to come in and still was unhelpful and accussative. No emphaty of what my daughter was going through. This branch and the one in Compton got me so disappointed. They could have helped further investigating this issue. Check VPN and IP address to see if it was their costumers and protect the rest from these thiefs. They have poor costumer service and such poor attitude. A good in service and re evaluation is needed for this person.
