This was my second time dropping in and the environment and energy is indescribable! I've been…read moredoing crossfit for 6 years and it's a breath of fresh air to see coaches really care about technique, proper warm ups and good programming. All the members so so welcoming and each coach, Sara and Taylor came up to say hi to me even though they were just doing class, they went out of their way to make my friend and me welcomed. Michael was teaching class and he was very accommodating in letting us do our programming. The coaches all look badasses and it just makes you want to workout haha! Can't wait to drop in again! Thank you for the hospitality! Side note: we misplaced our phone and two of the members helped us look for it when they didn't have to but that just shows what kind of community they have! Thank you again

However, I was a member for a little over two years and my body never looked better...even if I was consistently last on the scoring board. It doesn't matter if you are a retired athlete (lots of legitimate athletes in this place. Just randomly ask someone, 'so, what was your sport', and you'll get an answer ranging from 'i'm a trainer for UT Longhorns' 'I was a swimmer in college' 'i was in the CrossFit games'.) or just a shmo like myself, the coaches/leaders treat us all the same. Sara took me under her mama wing from the start. They are all great at spotting your weaknesses and working with you. And the community is exceptional...just good people all around. I hope I can get back someday, but you really need to be in the zone when you go in and my head is presently consistently occupied somewhere else (healthcare).

They have a small parking lot in the back, which is really convenient. There are lockers available, but everyone is pretty safe and relaxed, so it's fine to keep your things near your reformer. If you haven't tried Lagree before, I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot, it's such a great workout. And as a bonus, there's a local taco spot nearby that's perfect for grabbing a bite after class!

The check in process was easy through an iPad in the front of the studio. I received a warm welcome to class and since it was my first time to attend I received a detailed introduction to the Pilates Megaformer machine and all the mechanics. The Megaformer was more elaborate and had more functionality than the wooden reformers that I had used in the past. Spots were not preassigned, so I was able to sit next to my friend. The class was 45 minutes long and designed to tone your body. Urban Lagree is a high-intensity, low impact strength training workout. The focus was on muscular endurance which will improve your overall strength and core stability. There were resistance movement that focused on balance and targeted muscles that I normally don't hit in my HIIT workouts. Some movements I could feel the burn and was really getting a targeted focus on the smaller muscles in my body. After the workout I felt empowered and rejuvenated. Even though I was relatively new to Pilates, the instructor's instructions were easy to follow and she provided constructive feedback when needed. Really enjoyed my experience at Urban Lagree!

I just came on a day pass and was compelled to write a review based on how easy it was to check out…read morewithout getting hard sold into a membership like what I experienced at LA Fitness down the street. First off, I had an Austin address which is required for the day pass. Secondly, I entered basic info and signed the waiver. I didn't have to then meet with a sales rep who would used high pressure sales tactics (scarcity, urgency, blah blah) to enjoy jt workout (unlike my LA Fitness experience). The gym would either sell itself or it wouldn't. Tomas at the front desk was very warm and personable, a very refreshing exchange. As for the gym itself, I like the layout, but it's definitely outdated. I'm going with a gym closer to me that is higher end, but I recommend using the day pass (if you're an Austin resident) to see if it's a good fit for you or not.

I was hesitant after reading mixed reviews, but, gotta say, this place is OK…read more Price is competitive, there's a huge variety of machines available with little wait, most everything is reasonably clean and in working order, it just works. The place isn't fancy, the medium-hard sell on personalized training is annoying but avoidable, but overall, it's a decent place. Most patrons are there to exercise rather than sit on a machine and smartphone away, and a good 85% of them exercise good gym courtesy.
