It's a decent gym and you get what you pay for. I do enjoy going at times they aren't too busy. The app has a meter to tell you how busy they are. I do like that feature! Employees are on their phones a lot. You might get a greeting once in a while. I noticed an employee the other day watching Tiktok while she was refilling the spray bottles. Her phone was on the cart as she walked and scrolled. She missed refilling paper towels in one area, probably because she was glued to her phone. Many members don't sanitize the machines after, so I would suggest cleaning them before and after use. Even though there are signs everywhere! I've also been distracted with gym members having phone conversations while on machines. It's not a policy that is enforced, so I just find another machine and return later. It sometimes takes a while to repair broken machines. Black tape is used to repair tears in the fabric but doesn't usually last that long. Overall, $10/ month plus their annual fee is a steal. read more

Alexa is the best!!!! So sweet and helpful every time I come in!! She needs a raise to be honest or make her a manager. I lost my phone a few days ago and when I would come in I had to go through the process of the phone number and all.. I kept asking the guys if I could just get one of the key cards and they kept telling me they don't do that anymore. I've been here a few times and it's a decent club. There are heaps of machines types and a few of each type in case of crowding. The staff are friendly too. One thing I'll say about their Black Card spa is that they don't have the full lie-flat Hydro Massage but they do have the angled massage beds instead. It gets busy between 4-7. read more

Rip off. Management for this location will not abide by contract. They will still charge you even after you have successfully cancelled membership within reasonable time. As shown on contract, my annual fees were due in November. I cancelled September 30th and they charged me annual fees the following day. They stated annual fees were due on October 1st when clearly stated they're due Nov. 1 and every anniversary there after. Don't sign anything with this club. read more

I divide my time between this location and another due to my hybrid position at work. I'm very pleased how great this location keeps up with their equipment. They just recently had an upgrade and brought in several new machines as well as upgraded treadmills. Rudy the manager is always professional and just recently they hired their new female personal trainer Aracely. She's the absolute sweetest addition to the team and so far I've had the privilege of scheduling 4 sessions with her. I'm very familiar with working with trainers since I actually met Aracely through the other PF trainer Jose. She's the best and I encourage any woman who feels intimidated of lifting weights to give her a try. Best membership I've ever spent my money on. The front desk staff is amazing, they're always cleaning, vacuuming or sanitizing. The restrooms and showers are clean. I'm always greeted and welcomed when I arrive and I've even stayed after to use the office space and Wi-Fi. I'd give 10 stars if possible, and yes I highly recommend!!!! read more

This PF just opened off William Cannon & IH 35. The gym is laid out nicely and all of the equipment is new. Although, I prefer the YMCA downtown (Better Features, Amenities, Classes, and Pool), it is nice to have a good quality gym 5 minutes from the crib, that cost me only $10 a month. The gym features tons of cardio equipment (like 3 long rows of treadmills, ellipticals, stairclimber, bikes , etc.... Good area for free weights and machine weights. A cool 30 minute circuit training area, and a separate stretching area with hips machines in tow. The staff is nice and accommodating. They gave out free pizza the other day! My only complaint would be they need more stretching equipment (rollers, bands, stretch sitting machines). This gym is what it is, not the fanciest or best; but to the point of what you need to maintain a healthy life balance. Oh and it beats the hell out of fighting IH 35 traffic to the Townlake YMCA. Overall positive experience, but the business model is outdated. I purchased a membership for my wife through my corporate account, which I can use as a "guest", IF we go together. However, we have kids, so she goes first, then I go. But according to PF, this isn't allowed, so you're punished for having children, since there's no childcare option. Guess I'll just pay double, even though childless couples can pay $23 for both of them. Allowing a spouse to use a membership is really common practice in most other areas, but not here I guess. I cancelled before the end of my one-year commitment but was billed anyway for the next year's annual fee. Staff gave me false assurances 3 times: 1. I went to the front desk at the gym a month before renewal. They told me to wait until 2 weeks before the 13th month is charged, then cancel. 2. Realizing that the date they gave me is when my annual fee was deducted, I came in again a week before the date they gave me and cancelled. I asked if this meant they wouldn't draw any more funds from my bank account. They told me I wouldn't. I couldn't see the terms. You sign an electronic screen like you do for a credit card purchase. I got home and received a copy of my cancellation form, saying they planned to deduct the next year's annual fee. I emailed them about what had been promised. No response. 3. I go to the gym a third time and explain my side. They tell me that while the deadline to avoid deductions had passed by a day or two, they're confident I'll be reimbursed. They'll write to the head office and copy me. They won't give me an email address or a phone number so I can contact them myself. I never heard from them. If I had bought the cheapest subscription ($10 per month) I wouldn't be complaining here. Instead, I had purchased the "black card" ($22/month) although I knew I'd rarely use those privileges, so that they could pay their staff better wages. This kind of treatment isn't what reputable businesses do. I'd advise others to look elsewhere. read more

Possibly one of the weakest gyms and Planet Fitness locations I have visited. I travel for work. I will regularly purchase a Planet Fitness day pass while traveling...from New England to Texas...this location's the worst. This BS no LUNKS concept that allows the gym to not offer free weight Olympic bars is pitiful. If you plan to bench, power clean, squat, deadlift....on and on...this is not the place for you; unless you're content with a smith machine. The curl bars top off at 60lbs. The dumbbells have that terrible slippery-when-wet BS boutique gym finish that requires you to wear lifting gloves. Don't get me wrong, you can get a workout in here, but there is a more lacking than present. Day pass was also $5 more than any other Planet Fitness I have visited across the country. read more

I have had account issues with them for years. My wife and I joined at the same time in Chicago and moved to Austin. When my wife got pregnant she cancelled her membership more than 2 years ago. Every time I come into the gym they say that I have account issues yet I show them on my bank statement that I am being charged. They do t understand how to fix it. We diagnosed the issue today and it has to do with gym membership transfer. Not only was my wife's account never cancelled, but they were charging me 15$ late fees. All in all, this has cost me hundreds of dollars. Although the manager acknowledged that this is a transfer issue, he won't refund me a penny. I cancelled my membership on the spot. read more

They literally just stared at me and didn't speak. Nothing. Not a hi, we'll be right with you. NOTHING. I got a membership 12/30/18 at this location. I have been bringing a bag in since (today is 3/2/19). I keep my bag with me because of a past theft issue There are numerous people at this gym that keep bags with them. Spencer approaches me mid set to inform me that if I didn't put my bag in a locker that I would have to leave. He said it was club policy to not have bags on the floor. As I was leaving, I pointed out other bags. Spencer suddenly changed his story to say that it only included my certain bag. read more

I like this location as well as the one on Westgate. I go mainly to manage stress/depression. The treadmills are easy to use and I love the Hydro Massage beds. My only issue is the TV channels. A little less Fox, a little less Sports channels, a little more variety would be great. read more

The planet fitness I regularly go to is really nice and clean. Staff is always really friendly and creatives a positive environment. Although the gym might lack some free weights such as bench presses and barbells you can accommodate and accomplish your goals with the equipment they have. If I could change one thing it would be instead of offering free pizza or bagels on certain days maybe promote more of a healthier alternative such as a discount on the protein shakes. I had a very negative experience with the membership pre-sale and delays opening this location. After waiting months and driving by and seeing the inside was not built out yet, I joined another gym. I thought I canceled my membership (another learning - always have documentation) but saw charges on my account for January. I learned that now I will be charged a buyout fee to cancel - I never even received a membership card... I have not had this experience at other gyms.
