Alanna invited numerous locals to participate in a shop small, shop local event, and advertised it in a magazine. Really community focused :) . It was such fun! The space is lovely - both the foyer as well as the actual hot room (that wasn't heated during the market). There's high ceilings, LOTS of natural daylight, and mirrors on two walls - pretty awesome for a fitness center! Also, we couldn't help but notice how clean the rest rooms are - which have 2 showers (apparently in the men's room too). I sold a lot of my items at the market, and also enjoyed meeting other vendors. Alanna scheduled a wine night for the studio on Dec 20th and I'll be coming in with friends to take 6:30pm inferno hot Pilates, and then stay around for wine night! Fun, fun, fun :)

It felt so fancy inside, and on the first floor there was a smoothie bar with snacks and food that we got the açaí bliss protein smoothie from. I also really liked that in the women's locker room there's lotion and spray on deodorant and hair dryers, and it's super clean. The second floor is stacked with machines and treadmills and anything you could possibly need for a good workout. There's also an indoor basketball court and pickleball courts and an outdoor pool. Definitely play pickleball during work hours if you're off, because we went at 7 pm and it was packed because everyone had gotten off work. But, when we were there at 4:30-5 pm, it was pretty empty.

The kids club was a perfect setup. We had use of the party room for an hour. The kids were able to rock climb and play in the bounce house while we decorated. The last hour of the party was spent in the pool. We were able to use the family dressing room and then the pool. The water was nice and warm and the kids (and adults), had a blast. There was seating for the spectators that didn't get in. Life time provided the life vests and a lifeguard for the party. Each kid had to have a guardian in the water which was not a problem. The two young adults helping us made sure to take care of everything. They helped us set up, passed out pizza and cleaned up the decorations when we went to the pool. They had all the gifts and stuff packed up on a cart and helped us take it outside. Great place for a kids pool party.

She really explained each workout thoroughly and helped me with my form/balance on some of the exercises. I really liked that everyone was very inviting and the space is kept clean and organized. This class was for all levels and you can change the weights on the reformer if you would like to have more of a challenge during your workout. Since it was my first time, I kept the recommended weight and I feel like some workouts were more difficult to do than others. I think this class was a good workout to do to stay active! I get the hype of pilates now and might try it again sometime! The only con of this place is unfortunately the parking but that's with most places in Houston. The parking lot is shared with multiple businesses that reserve their spots only for their shop. There is parking that is not reserved for anything but the spots are very tight. There is also parking on the side of Defy but it is a little tricky in finding out how to get to the spot. I was able to find a spot in the parking lot but my friend had to park on the side. When I checked in, the ladies at the front were able to give me directions for my friend so that she can find how to get to the parking so just ask beforehand! My google search led me to Performance Pilates and the reviews are true, this was a great experience! Everyone was so kind and welcoming when I arrived, and you can tell that the instructors are knowledgeable. Things were a little different than I am used to with teaching fascially, but it was a nice change and I liked how different the moves felt on my body. Cody was patient and provided modifications where needed so all of the class felt included and able to participate. Fun bonus - all the instructors were dressed up and the studio was decorated for Halloween! Will definitely return when I am back visiting the area!
