I had a great experience at Performance Pilates! I am visiting the area from Atlanta and have been taking Pilates for several years. My google search led me to Performance Pilates and the reviews are true, this was a great experience! Everyone was so kind and welcoming when I arrived, and you can tell that the instructors are knowledgeable. Things were a little different than I am used to with teaching fascially, but it was a nice change and I liked how different the moves felt on my body. Cody was patient and provided modifications where needed so all of the class felt included and able to participate. Fun bonus - all the instructors were dressed up and the studio was decorated for Halloween! Will definitely return when I am back visiting the area! read more

I have had 7 personal trainers, and both Cody and Michelle are so knowledgable not only about Pilates, but about other health and fitness issues, too. I was so surprised and excited to learn that, and I cannot say how amazing they are and helpful for all fitness levels and chronic health conditions! I'm a 53 year old woman who has been sitting at an office desk for 25 plus years and it has caught up with me. Cody is helping me by starting with Facial Training and then moving me into Pilates to actually reverse the aging process. Within a few sessions, I can already tell a difference. This was an education and utterly fascinating! They ladies at Performance Pilates KNOW THEIR STUFF!! It's like I got a tour of my own body, learned about fascia and it's purpose!! I felt my body "melt" (my word) as they talked me through the most subtle changes in my body position. This is not a "quick stretch class"....... the intro was an EDUCATION! This place is great. The instructors are the most knowledgeable I've ever met. Since going through my private lessons I understand the theory of Pilates and have improved my body mechanics tremendously. 4 th lesson so far. I feel the different muscle groups as the instructor goes thru my forms and my body has started to be more flexible after being sedentary for decades. I'm an older woman and felt conscious of my body but here there's no judgement. The instructors are genuine and have beautiful hearts. While I move onto Group classes I will miss them cause I'm moving out of state at the end of the month. I feel blessed to have found them and highly recommend this studio to all as they train men as well as women. read more

Cody and Michelle, Thank you so very much for fitting me into your class schedules last week! I love your studio; it's so comfortable and inviting. I enjoyed your classes so much that I wanted to post a review. The Performance Pilates team is incredible! Cody and Michelle are extremely passionate about Pilates and are very in tune with technique, making the most basic movements, creating a deep and muscle-awakening workout! You feel the work immediately and they are patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable and provide great feedback so you can get the most out of your workout. I have tried multiple instructors and each one is excellent. Each one is a bit different, in their own way, but each vary their classes so that you keep engaged and strengthen each visit. I have immensely enjoyed every class. read more

I enjoy the small classes so I get a good workout while learning new techniques. The professional instructors taking care of each individual's needs always keeping safety in mind. Very clean facilities. The Buff Bones Class is great for those with back ailments.Teaches new ways to get up and down without stressing the back. read more

We teach you how to move without pain and gain youthful mobility. Learn how your fascia (connective tissue) plays a large role in an unrestricted, childlike movement. Performance Pilates offers private pilates sessions semi-private, pilates classes, and virtual pilates. We use reformer, cadillac, chair, barrels, mat and other equipment. We also offer Myofascia Release (muscle tension release), and the Rossiter® System for immediate pain relief.

History

Established in 2005.

Performance Pilates began with Michelle Long in a small gym above the Shell station in Greatwood/Sugar Land, and eventually became GTC Fitness and Pilates in Greatwood. In 2010 Cody Robbins joined Michelle, added equipment and expanded the studio. Performance Pilates has now grown into it's own facility at 19875 Southwest Freeway, Suite 200 (Formerly Studo C. Pilates Center). We now have more equipment and instructors, and have more scheduling options for everyone!

Cody Robbins and Michelle Long were originally certified through PEAK Pilates, and now hold CPM (Contrology Pilates Method) certifications through the Centre For Spatial Medicine. Michelle has a background in swimming, and Cody participates in equestrian sports. From the elite athlete to the average person wanting to be fit and healthy, Pilates is for every "body". I'm updating my review to give a more accurate explanation of my experience at Pure Body. This is…read morethe worst Pilates studio I've been to and not a good use of my money or time. I was treated rudely and with disrespect. Several people came across as arrogant. Prior to taking any sessions, I carefully described all of my injuries. I'm a 40+ year old former athlete with arthritic joints. Even after explaining my injuries, the instructor, who is also part owner, pressured me into going harder on exercises than what was suitable for me. I ultimately injured my right shoulder, and couldn't life my arm. During class the instructor was very rude. I sought medical treatment with my chiropractor, and when my symptoms did not improve I had an MRI and eventually saw my orthopedic surgeon. I was in physical therapy for 5 weeks. I also called the studio after my injury to let them know what happened. Because I had pre-paid my sessions, I was unsure if I could easily get my money back, since they were giving me a vibe as if they do not give refunds for any reason. But I think in some cases, you should issue refunds for unused money, because not every studio is a good fit for every person. I felt like I was being looked down upon. There does not seem to be clear policies in place in the event something happens, such as an injury. I was treated horribly. They are not physical therapists and are not qualified to diagnose injuries. The liability waiver excludes them from all liability if you become injured. This means that if a customer does not want to do business with you, either because they do not feel as though you are competent enough to help their specific needs, or they simply do not want to risk further injury they need to be able to end the business relationship. It is a customer's decision if they want to continue doing business with them, even if they pre-paid, especially if something bad happens. They eventually refunded me money, but I had to go back and forth for over a week, which was stressful. I think that they thought I was being dishonest. This was insulting. I've found a new studio. I'll never be back.

But it's totally worth finding: - Well maintained bike/jogging trail that goes for a couple of miles - Skate park for the teenage boys in your family - Tennis - Baseball/Softball fields that are well maintained and used by the Little League - Sand Volleyball - A public pool The pool is pretty basic but it ranges from 3 to 12 feet and has 2 diving boards. It's also dirt cheap. Sugar Land residents pay $1 for kids under 18 before 5 and $2.25 for adults before 5, $0.50 for kids/$1.00 for adults after 5. Non residents can use the pool for a little more: $1.25 for kids under 18 and $2.85 for adults before 5, $0.65 for kids and $1.25 for adults after 5. We eventually found Memorial Park in a newer part of Sugar Land. But the pool at City Park is a good option for the summer if you don't have ready access to one in your neighborhood and the trails are well maintained. If your kids are into skateboards, the skate park has shade and looked pretty popular.

As we were leaving, I decided to check if they had a number I could have to call and ask if the pool is open. I was banging on the gate yelling HELLO! HELLO! Even though they were right by the gate, they couldn't hear me over their laughing. After awhile, they looked back over their shoulder and utter "Yeah?" I asked 'Could I speak to someone face to face please?' And they didn't even move and said "what?" I was appalled and so disgusting by their attitude. I see this behavior in my high school classes, but if these are lifeguards representing the community we pay to be apart of, I never want to go back again. I've been doing Pilates since the only place in town was the Houston Ballet Academy. I've had several instructors along the way, at several places. Michelle may be the best Pilates instructor I've ever worked with. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about Pilates, but she's also excellent in working with clients who are rehabilitating from injuries and/or just plain dealing with getting older! She won't push you too hard, but once she sees that you're ready, she will definitely push you to sweat! Before long, you will see improvement in your strength, flexibility, tone and overall physical AND mental condition. The second floor studio is very airy with a pretty view of the Greatwood "Lake" , extremely well equipped and nicely finished and the music is always good! I don't live in Sugar Land, but it's well worth the 1/2 hour drive. The way I look at it, anyplace else that may be nearer is a waste of a trip. read more

Love Cody and Michelle! I started taking their classes almost ten years ago and have reaped the benefits of Pilates -- changed my shape, my flexibility and my attitude. It's also easier to keep up with my grandchildren now! The on-line class scheduling makes it very easy to coordinate my Pilates sessions with my work and travel schedule, and make changes when necessary. Both Cody and Michelle take a personal interest in each individual and make certain that their specific needs are considered when going through the flow of movements. And they make all that hard work feel like fun! I love the new studio, especially since it's so close to my home. But I would travel farther to take their classes -- that's how much I trust and appreciate their expertise and caring personalities. read more

I have been going to Performance Pilates since last November and am very please with how professional the owners and the instructors are as well as how clean they keep the premises and equipment. The equipment is high quality making the routines safe. I have a fractured L4 so the instructors modified routines adapted for me. The instructors are certified and very educated to help with whatever element you have or any area you would like to concentrate for a complete exercise program. Each instructor shows you different exercises so you are never bored. So if you are interested in a very qualified workout, this is the place to come, My balance has improved, as well as my flexibility. I am 66 years old so this is helping me get toned. read more

This is a Pilates Studio located inside the Greatwood Training Center. The owners, Cody and Michelle, are exceptional instructors. I've searched my entire adult life looking for an exercise regimen that connected with my motivation. I've found it -- Pilates! I've been working with Cody since January 2011, and though I'm in my 50's, I have the strength and flexibility that I had in my 20's. I urge all my friends to give it a try. They have Groupon specials, too, which makes it easy to get started for a very reasonable price. read more

I have been getting amazing instruction and attention at Performance Pilates, especially as I recover from a broken patella (kneecap.) The individual sessions have helped me in the healing process to develop better range of motion and flexibility. Also, I get great tips on "proper" movement when sitting, standing and walking for daily use. I have had two private sessions so far, one with Michelle and one with Cody and I enjoyed them both. After not exercising for nearly 10 years and gaining some weight last year, I must admit that I was incredibly nervous for my first session. Both Michelle and Cody are phenomenal instructors. Had the best experience at performance pilates!! a group of 8 of us went for my bachelorette trip and the staff was so accommodating and friendly. Tracey was an awesome instructor and made sure we felt comfortable and safe (only one had done pilates before). they even surprised us with a toast for me & a cheese tray. couldn't recommend this more. Had a great time at Performance Pilates today!! We had a group of 8 there to try Pilates for the first time for my best friend's bachelorette trip. Tracey was a sweetheart and provided peach Bellinis, sparkling water, & a cheese board for us. She also accommodated to my prior leg injuries and our pregnant friend who also took the class with us today. read more

Services are available multiple days at multiple times. The location is clean and well maintained. The instructors are knowledgeable in the field of Pilates. Instructors are pleasant, helpful, and care about you as an individual. Pilates is my favorite type of exercise program.
