All it took was one class and I was hooked. Sometimes I go twice a day. I highly recommend F45 to anyone looking to challenge themselves.

It definitely takes 5 or so classes to truly get the hang of Barry's otherwise it can be really challenging as a beginner. Basically you start on the treadmill or weights for about 12-14 mins, switch to the other side, and then repeat. My fave instructors are definitely Paris and Joe A. With Paris, I get in such a good workout because he doesn't include breaks (lol). Joe A is super motivating and I love his music!

The lockers may be tricky if it's your first time using one of theirs, so ask a staff for help before locking your stuff unexpectedly! It was my first Barry's class + I did an Arms x Run class. You start on either the floor or treadmill, then you're instructed to swap stations 2xs, so that you do each section twice. You can opt to be on either the floor or treadmill the whole time though. The format of the class takes a second to get used to, since the instructor directs both sections at the same time. I personally think it's easier to be on the treadmill, since you're mostly jogging or doing sprints. If there's one con, I wish there was more space between the lockers inside the women's locker rooms and the vanity area post shower. Definitely a HIIT style class to get used to, but I loved sweating it out! Barry's is unfortunately on the higher price of workout classes ($40), but a standard price for NYC, sadly. Overall, would def return for a Barry's class, when they have more class deals!

Everyone in the studio has a great disposition, including everyone in my circuit! Made me feel like they're looking out for everyone's safety in health in the little ways they can. I will definitely be coming back. Four stations, with different exercises but a general daily focus (Upper, Lower, Core) It's really a simple, elegant concept, well-executed. You get in an amazing workout in a tight 40 minutes. The instructors will come around to encourage and help, but you do need to be a bit of a self-starter, or comfortable following the video screens, as it can get busy with four different groups cycling through their exercise--I guess 12 different exercises at all, often going on at once. In the past, my one quibble was with the showers, but I've had good experiences here of late--just a great space to get in an incredible and efficient workout.

Seems like she only hires minimum wage literally 15 yr old girls to dictate how the gym operates. They're all aggressive, angry, untrained and REALLY disrespectful and are given free reign to open, close and patrol the gym with zero regard for the members paying $240 a month. These girls were given the power to be rude, shout, talk down, make up rules and get loud with members. Blink, NYSC and Planet Fitness are all run better then this. Seriously. The cleaning crew seemed to be changing garbages, but not really cleaning the floor. I remember this Poland Spring bottle sitting on a windowsill that was there for over a week that no one even bothered to throw out. The gym is overrun with tacky fake wannabe Tiktok influencers with tripods posing for the camera and acting like they're famous, but they are really just a bunch of nobodies trying too hard. And then we have to move out of THEIR way, because they think they're important and famous LMAO...in their own mind maybe that's it. The kindergarten staff doesn't care or want to be there, they rush you out as quickly as possible with zero warning and no time to even finish sets sometimes because they think the members are ON THEIR schedule. NOTHING redeeming about this place. TRUST this review. Go to Equinox, Lifetime, Crunch or any of these other new gyms in the area. People are joining and then quickly leaving this gym for a reason. Check the reviews. I've heard better things about the other locations, but that was years ago. Couldn't wait to get out of there, MUCH happier at another gym.

The well-organized interior is quite vast and imposing, with minimalist architecture and theatrical lighting. This well-thought-out sports club was recently designed by the renowned architectural firm Vocon. Though the interiors and facilities do succeed in conveying quite an impressive sense of sophistication and training experience, they ultimately come across as a bit monotonous and generic compared to other clubs of TMPL that were conceived more inventively by Studio Sofield. Diverse and up-to-date athletic machines: a mix of traditional and cutting-edge equipment, including cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights, all new and great selections. Here are a few more details of this new gym: 1. Fully equipped weight floor, featuring Arsenal Strength equipment designed for maximum performance, superior quality, and the most effective workouts. 2. Hot yoga studio within a serene, state-of-the-art space designed to enhance flexibility and mindfulness through expertly heated sessions. 3. Pilates Reformer Studio, featuring Allegro 2 Reformers by Balance Body, at times characterized as the gold standard in versatility and performance. 4. Boxing ring built for high-energy classes that challenge strength, speed, and endurance. 5. Expansive functional turf zone, designed for dynamic training, agility work, and full-body conditioning. 6. Baths featuring: ice baths; a hot tub; infrared sauna; Himalayan salt sauna; eucalyptus steam room; and a spacious spa recovery lounge. A lot of the Life Time locations in NYC are fairly small in size but so is everything else in town like restaurants, hotels, and retails stores. What I love about this location is that I feel like a lot of people don't know that it's here. I come and usually traffic is fairly light. Just avoid it between 5pm-7pm because the locker rooms are small and yes they completely fill up sometimes. Theres three floors: 1st floor is check-in, Pickleball courts (w/ beer & wine) on tap, second floor is cardio, a few studios and the LifeCafe. Third floor is weights, machines, locker rooms and a few other studios. The gym is very clean overall. People mind their own business, they get their workout in and get out. Which is great because you hardly ever have to wait around for a machine.

I reached out to HR and mentioned mainly on how I've been treated there and how it affected my health. No I didn't state EVERY single detail because I wanted to see what would be done with just the information that I gave. Since no real action has been taken. I will share my full story on working at LifeTime Fitness PENN1. I went through a lot mentally, physically, emotionally. The supervisor for operations once made a fat joke, woman supervisor was passive aggressive towards me, sexually harassed by some of the men employees they would make sexual remarks about my body and I was always super uncomfortable to show up to work and be around others. There was a time I couldn't show up to my shifts because I started to get nose bleeds, light headed, overheated, pelvic bleeding from all the work overload, chronic chest pains, anxiety attacks, going to endless doctors appointments. I would go into the bathroom stall and break down in tears. I was getting write ups on rules and regulations that were never enforced to me or the team. Everyday I show up and do my best, and it was never enough. While the other co-workers are in towel room smoking THC vapes, drinking on the job, always taking breaks and stepping outside, eating chatting and laughing majority of their shift while gossiping about me. Not to mention one day I had the worst chest pain that last me two hours in the middle of the night and I had to go to work early the next day. I did end up going in late and when I clocked in I spoke to the supervisor and told him what happened. He then says '' OH OKAY, BY ANY CHANCE CAN YOU STAY LATE TODAY ?" the lack of empathy is sickening. Every time they needed coverage I was there, the task that was needed I've done and this is how I was treated during my time there. I am genuinely disgusted and disappointed on how this company gets to get away with this. I would not recommend working here its not worth the time, energy, experience nor pay. I left 3 1/2 months ago im truly traumatized and still in shock. NEVER AGAIN.
