They focus on the original Idea of crossfit, "Lots of pushups, pull ups, situps, burpees, etc" instead of the the heavy lifting 145lb snatches you would see at other crossfit gyms. Which helped me with alot of my military fitness tests over the last year and half and to me, seems more practical. Now that I am home for the time being, I go here almost everyday. Its so addicting. On a side note, I was in a bad car accident in March, ended up gaining 40lbs. Went back in July and have worked out almost everyday since and I lost those 40lbs and not to mention Im stronger than I ever was before. I never thought I would be able to do the things I was able to do before my accident ever again but John and the rest of the coaches motivated me everyday and for that, I am forever grateful. The whole system of accountability in the Orange Theory App, the classes you sign up for, the coaches, and most importantly.....myself. Great location, the staff is friendly, from the front desk people to the Coaches. I've never had a bad experience here. I've only had great moments. So far, I've worked out with some great coaches: Chris, Joseph, and Jess. There's no particular order of favorites but I will say, my top coach has the best playlist. Other than that, with every coach I've worked out with, they are informational and they know what they're doing! So yes, the staff is friendly, motivational and knowledgeable. Timeliness and organized, I can only talk about this location, I've never been to any other OT gym, but they are very timely and organized which helps me out a bunch! I don't need to plan my workouts or time them, I just need to make sure I put something in my stomach for a pre-workout, drink water and show up! It just makes things so much easier for me. You may have to pay higher than what you normally pay at a normal gym, but it's all worth it. Do I see results? Yes, I do. I see my body changes, I see my heart changes for the better and overall health has improved. I see myself attending classes at least 3 times a week. OT makes things simple and this location is just a great place to be.

I'd like to focus on the crew from the night shifts since that is when I typically go for my workout. Alex and Adner (sp?) during weeknights...I adore them. They are super friendly and always willing to answer any questions or address any concerns I may have. Emily from weekend nights is so sweet. She always has a bright smile on her face when I walk in. The three I've mentioned, along with the manager and trainer have all done so much to make my return (I had stayed away for more than 6 months due to issues I've now discussed with the manager) so positive. They listen to me and don't treat me like just "a number". They are helpful and oh so encouraging. They have all done so much to make me feel valued and important. There is so much more I want to say but this is already pretty long. But I will say this... If you are looking for a gym where you will be made to feel good about yourself as you work on your personal goals, Planet Fitness in Lake Mary IS the place to go.

When you ask for assistance, the responses often feel cold, unfriendly, and dismissive. A gym should feel welcoming and positive, but instead the atmosphere comes across as uncomfortable and negative. Honestly, it makes you wonder if this is part of the reason why, out of all the Planet Fitness locations, the Lake Mary location often feels like the emptiest one. People notice atmosphere and customer service, and it absolutely affects whether members want to keep coming back. Customer service and basic friendliness matter. Members are paying to be there, and a simple greeting and respectful interaction can make a huge difference. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the overall member experience.

Just over a month ago I decided I had enough of being unhealthy and overweight, but I had tried so…read moremany times to exercise and lose weight on my own just to end up failing after a few weeks. This time, after caring for my mother and grandfather after their strokes, and knowing my father had poor health at a young age, I was determined to make a change, but I needed a little help. I needed someone to help me with accountability, because I could give up and effect no one but myself. I looked at personal trainers in my area and found one that I considered, but saw the second personal trainer in the search and really liked their website and services they offered much better. I was timid and unsure of what to expect, but I mustered the strength and made the call to BeFIT Health Studio. Jeremy answered and he said everything I needed to hear. It was practically a done deal. We met and I really loved the studio, and Jeremy was so nice and compassionate that I didn't feel any embarrassment or shame. I also felt no pressure to sign up. The studio is not a big place that has dozens of people all at once that made me feel uncomfortable of myself. I was ready to sign up and pay right there, but he made me come back for a first "session" to be sure. Little did he know that nothing could have changed my mind at that point. Now, after three months I've lost over 40lbs, but more importantly, I have so many non-scale victories that I feel so much better. My heart function has improved, my glucose is no longer in the pre-diabetic range, and my cholesterol has significantly dropped. I am fitting into smaller clothing now and I noticed that I have more energy. I also find myself standing up straighter when I'm sitting or walking, and overall happier. While at the studio with Jeremy, we don't just exercise, we also discuss ways to find balance with eating, activities to continue the progression outside of the studio. This is going to be a long road, I'm no where near the end, but I feel so much better that I could cry tears of joy. I am so glad that I finally made the commitment to get healthier and find the help that I needed to get there. I couldn't have done it on my own without someone helping me to be accountable and pushing me forward. It does helps to have a little ass-kicking now and then.

I have only visited a handful of times, and so far, the gym has been good overall. I enjoy that there is more free-weight equipment when compared to Planet Fitness in Lake Mary, which has none other than dumbbells. It has been years since I have used a free-weight squat rack, straight bar bench press, military press, and now that I have access to it again, it has made all the difference in the world for building muscle. Esporta amenities include: a lap-style swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, large hardwood floor studio, spinning room, a two-hoop basketball court, a battle rope workout area, a push-sled area, kettle bells, multiple ellipticals, treadmills, and plenty of Life Fitness equipment for every workout you can imagine. Esporta also offers anywhere between 18-20 interactive classes weekly, such as Zumba, Body Works, Cycle/Spinning, and Boot Camp Conditioning. There is a Kids Zone area where parents can let the children play in a safe location while they get their workout in. The locker rooms, restrooms, shower are actually beautiful and well kept. Note: if you are looking for the sauna, pool, and jacuzzi, you need to walk through the locker/restroom area to get to them. Also be sure to bring your own towel as the gym does not provide them. I have not dealt with the staff too much, but the team members I have encountered have been very nice. For those who like to wipe down and sanitize equipment before and after using machines, Esporta staff provides spray bottles you can take with you while you work out. I love this option since I am a bit of a clean freak. There are paper towel dispensers, equipment sanitizing solution and hand sanitizer located throughout the gym should you need it. My wife says the staff are continuously wiping down equipment; however, I see more wipe downs happening at Planet Fitness, and they have a lot less staff. Another great feature of this facility is the drinking fountains. There are two options, the traditional and the traditional plus bottle filling. I have not had an issue with either option so far, and the staff keeps this equipment sanitary. My only complaints so far are: - This is no fault of the gym but Members can be pigs here; people, please pick up after yourself! During my workout today, I picked up at least 10 different wads of paper towels members left on the floor or one of the machines. I also picked up several half bottles of water left on the floor. Members are also leaving wads of used paper towels on the bathroom sinks; why? The trash is right there; your mama does not work here! - As other Yelper noted, the music can be too loud. I don't mind background music, but the volume fluctuates between visits. It can be distracting at times especially when listening to my own music. - The Machines are a bit old, and that is ok; however, please schedule a PM tech to lubricate the moving parts on this equipment. I see a lot of rust, and some of the levers are jamming, making it difficult to adjust. All-in-all Esporta Fitness is a good gym with equipment that suites my needs; if you live in the area, I recommend checking them out.

My shoes were stolen right out of a locked locker, and instead of fixing the issue, it seems the unofficial solution is: "Just install your own surveillance system!" Genius, right? Because clearly it's the members' job to handle security--not the gym's. 5 stars for creativity, 0 for actual security.
