I signed up for the 6 week 20 lb challenge and just finished my 6 weeks yesterday and lost 25.7 lbs, yay! The Camp has exceeded my expectations. Plain and simple, stick with the program and you will see the results. The trainers (Julia, Nikki, and Charles) do a phenomenal job pushing you to challenge yourself in ways you didn't think possible. What I like about coming here is there's people on all different fitness levels but one common goal: to be healthy and fit. The 6 week challenge is tough as you will follow a strict diet as well as attending daily fitness classes. Luckily you have support every step of the way and it feels great to watch the pounds shed and your endurance grow. It's been amazing to see how much I really am capable of. The camp's motto is simple and sums it up perfectly: Stay Fit Don't Quit!

Most egregious thing though was lack of toilet paper in ALL 4 bathrooms in the facility. Went to the bathroom before workout. Bathroom I used had no soap and no toilet paper. Just out of curiosity checked out the other bathrooms to find they all had no TP. Makes you wonder about overall cleaning quality as well. Overall a very nice gym. This is not my home Anytime but I was up this way and wanted to check it out. Gym was a little dirty otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. Probably the largest Anytime I have ever visited. Lots of space and a very large free weight area. Not as many machines and aerobic equipment as the space could hold so definitely could upgrade some. Very large free weight area with nice squat racks. Only negative there was the 2 meatheads who used all the extra space to make it their own personal CrossFit gym. Need a few signs on gym etiquette posted. Very large locker rooms again some of the best I have seen at an Anytime. The bathrooms were again pretty dirty but not horrible. Luckily enough, Bree posted to Facebook that she was opening up the gym to anyone who needed a shower or a warm place to hang out at for a bit. After being welcomed in, we couldn't resist renewing our membership. [I was a marketing director at a location in AZ but had moved over to Lifetime/Gold's when I moved to SA] We love to small gym feel with the quality equipment. The 24 hour access is always a plus and it's never overly crowded at any given time. Almost all the members say "hi" or at least a friendly acknowledgement of your presence. A nice plus is that everyone is good about wiping their equipment. And Bree, singlehandedly, does a great job at maintaining the facility.

HCF approaches every workout this way, and it gave me the motivation to get back into fitness in February 2016. I say "team" because just like a more traditional team, everyone in the gym is in it together as one unit. Instead of working out individually, we are all pushing ourselves and each other through the same workout and toward the same goal. That being said, each athlete is unique and has their own talents and strengths, as well as weaknesses, so when someone is struggling through something, everyone else comes around and encourages them until they complete it. The mindset through every workout is "we're not done until we're all done" and it builds and incredible sense of camaraderie that I have missed. Competing as a synchronized swimmer for twelve years, I learned to value and rely on my teammates. I learned that to be successful I had to be selfless and put the success of the team ahead of my own. It took hard work and dedication, and I have found that same drive again at HCF. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you are, it doesn't matter what weight you put on the bar, it doesn't matter if you collapse in a sweaty heap after the workout. What matters are the people next to you. What matters is that you go all out and do your best every day and support those around you, because they will be the same ones who support you when you need it. I heard of Rumble Boxing from a friend in NYC who was a member years ago. So, I was stoked to see a…read morelocation in the SA area since I've been missing boxing lately. This is structured as a boxing for fitness class, so you won't be expected to spar at any point, and no worries if you're nervous about coming in. The staff is incredibly friendly-- and it's not just one person; it's everyone I've interacted with so far. I've been to various gyms (CrossFit-esque, luxury/boutique, smaller/independent kickboxing). Still, I don't recall an instructor asking me on the first day of coming in about my personal goals and how they could help me attain them. They're also offering personal training if that's something that interests you. The facilities are immaculate and still in excellent condition, but they haven't been open that long. The room where classes are held is split in half: uppercut bags on one side and benches with weights on the other. Lockers are available along the wall near the entrance, and there is a water fountain if you bring a reusable water bottle. If you don't have the gear, no sweat. They've got some you can borrow, and if you decide to sign up, you can buy some gloves and quick wraps there. If you're new and unsure, I suggest you take an intro class and take advantage of the BOGO offer for first-timers. That way, you'd take three classes and choose the best plan for you.

Having someone with her experience, passion, and dedication teaching the next generation is truly special. Our boys are 4 and 8, and jiu-jitsu has already made such a positive difference in both of them. They're learning confidence, respect, focus, perseverance, and discipline--not just on the mat, but in everyday life. We especially noticed the difference with our 8-year-old. He had been struggling with staying focused and disciplined enough to get his homework done. Since starting jiu-jitsu, we've seen a real improvement in his ability to focus, follow through, and understand that responsibilities come before play. The discipline he is learning on the mat is carrying over into school and home, which has been wonderful to see as parents. Our 4-year-old is also learning at such a young age how to listen, follow directions, respect his coaches and teammates, and build confidence in himself. The coaches are encouraging while still holding the kids accountable, and our boys genuinely look forward to going. We came for jiu-jitsu, but what they are gaining goes far beyond learning a sport. Thank you, GB Boerne, for creating a place where our boys can grow stronger physically, mentally, and in character. We couldn't be happier to be part of it! Camp Gladiator is the best! It is an outdoor, group workout with multiple times and locations…read morethroughout the week. Each week has a different focus (i.e. endurance, agility, etc.) and all you need is a mat, water and weights on weight days (Mon, Thurs, Sat). Each individual can push themselves as hard or light as they want and the trainers are very knowledgeable to help with modifications, accountability, and constant changing of daily exercises. I think the workouts are a ton of fun. You earn points for every workout you attend and every person you refer, which allows you to buy cool gear from the CG store with those points. All camps are rain or shine and a great place to meet people and get fit. I am someone who gets bored with my workouts at the gym, and CG really pushes me and makes me feel great! I am always exhausted and sore after the workouts, so I know they work! As a perk- once you are enrolled, you are able to attend as many camps as you want and in any location. There is no fee to try a different city or trainer, which makes it nice if you are out of town. I can't wait until they grow to even more cities!

Pretty dirty, paper towels run out and are not filled…read more Nobody is doing cardio and the manager is unwilling to change any of the 20 TVs to the nba playoffs. Very easy to solve. Will be going elsewhere. I did, the dude at the front desk spoke with the manager she was working out, witnessed her also not wiping down equipment, and not wanting to change the channels because of all the remotes.
