The different classes between AO Strength, AO Fit and AO Power really allow you to find something tailored to your goals. I currently have the 8 class monthly membership as I am also training for a race but see myself upgrading to unlimited in the future. However, I was a member for a little over two years and my body never looked better...even if I was consistently last on the scoring board. It doesn't matter if you are a retired athlete (lots of legitimate athletes in this place. Just randomly ask someone, 'so, what was your sport', and you'll get an answer ranging from 'i'm a trainer for UT Longhorns' 'I was a swimmer in college' 'i was in the CrossFit games'.) or just a shmo like myself, the coaches/leaders treat us all the same. Sara took me under her mama wing from the start. They are all great at spotting your weaknesses and working with you. And the community is exceptional...just good people all around. I hope I can get back someday, but you really need to be in the zone when you go in and my head is presently consistently occupied somewhere else (healthcare).

I had a consultation with Noah a few months ago now, about my wants and needs of personal training. I already do Muay Thai and running on my own. I wanted to add some strength training in but it's been awhile and needed some direction. I filled out very thorough paperwork. I was matched with one of the trainers, Brett, and I couldn't be happier. There are different packages to accommodate all needs and budget. Overall I am happy and would recommend. They also have group classes but I haven't done so I can't comment on that.

While I didn't participate in the group sessions, they were going on when I was doing my personal sessions -- looked and heard like a super group of friendly people who are all there to do the right thing, have fun as a group while getting into shape and learning to work out the right way. This gym is very intense in comparison to other CrossFit gyms I have been to and the workouts reflect that. I am not a beginning so I can't speak to the perspective of someone coming in new but for someone who has been doing CrossFit for many years this was a great experience. The coaches are all very friendly and really take the time to help you work on form and safety during the lift portion of the work out. During the WOD alternative movements are readily available (although not encouraged unless required) which I think is a good approach to make sure people are pushing themselves to get better and improve. The membership is expensive in comparison to some other gyms in the area but I think you really do get what you pay for here and it is very much worth it if you are willing to dedicate the time to go three or more times a week. It's also a huge bonus that they bill weekly rather than monthly so if you are traveling you can take a week off without feeling like you're missing out. I'm sad to have to leave this gym but I am moving across town and so I won't be able to come regularly. Highly recommend to anyone interested or visiting town.
