I'd rate Gold's Gym on Slaughter a 3.7/5. I stopped in twice, once for a tour and once with a guest pass, and wasn't mad at my experience. For the most part, the gym seemed clean and not overly dated. It seems well run! It's a lower-mid tier gym so you'll notice some "nice to haves" missing. For example, cardio machines don't have TVs and some equipment looks a little older. That said, Gold's seems to have a bit of everything! The staff is engaging, the bathrooms are clean, there's a nice area to stretch, they offer workout classes, have a sauna, and even an outdoor green space (turf) with equipment and space to train. I'll keep touring around to see if I find a better fit, but I won't count this gym out just yet!

Karim Radwan has been my trainer for almost a year. Today I have officially lost 125lbs and he has helped me significantly tone and get stronger. I started training with him at another gym and followed him when he got a promotion to Gold's Gym. He has pushed me, taught me, and most importantly empowered me to be confident to work out on my own, as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He communicates what we are working on big picture and always has a modification ready for each move.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend him.

This is a newly-built gold's gym and requires a premium membership. All the equipment is new and they do have a lot of cardio studios and group classes that are focused on high intensity training and CrossFit style workouts. The equipment is all brand new and very adequate for what you will need but they are definitely crowded at peak hours like most gold's gyms.

This is a fairly new Gold's Gym location, and I love it! The staff always greets you with a smile & a hello. The facility is immaculate, and they always maintain it that way. I've been there at different hours, and I've never had a problem finding a machine to use, or signing up for a group class. That's my favorite part of the gym, the group classes! The instructors are so personable. I've never had this experience in any other gym. I love this place!

There's a shiny new gym 5 minutes from my house! I used to go to Gold's years ago, I even got a little nostalgic doing Body Pump today cause I used to go with my coworkers at lunch in the mid-2000s. I've pretty much done all the major gyms (24 Hr, Lifetime, Gold's, and Planet Fitness). I generally like to take classes as they give me a good framework, schedule, and accountability, then on non-class days, or before or after class, I might hit the cardio machines or some weights and the stretching area. Though I took weightlifting in college, (you know, gotta get those Phys Ed credits!), I do have a little gym-intimidation, so classes also help with that: you'll never be the least fit person in there... until you are, like I was today. Man, that squat track was long! I had to stand there waiting for the song to end or my heart to slow down (spoiler: song ended first). Anyway, the trainer was very nice and said I did a great job and she hopes she sees me Thursday. I'm on a 3-day free trial but I'll probably sign up. I usually quit gyms because they change the class schedules or cut them way back. This location offers a month to month plan for a $40 higher enrollment plan, so I'll probably do that, I hate feeling trapped by a contract! The monthly fee is $29.99 for the most minimal plan (plus taxes I'm sure) but that's only a few more bucks than my PF Black membership. More about amenities: there's a sauna in the locker room that I would have tried out if I wasn't already dying. And they have nice big lockers and hair dryers. You have to bring your own lock, they don't even have the little day lockers with the combo locks in them. Also, I like the locker rooms are behind the cardio stuff-- at the 24 Hr I used to go to, you had to cross through the middle of the weights to get to them (so annoying). They have an outdoor area, I guess so you can feel like you're working out in a prison yard (?), and tons of bands, foam rollers, etc. The class schedule is a little light right now, but I've been told they will be adding more classes. And this Gold's offers some premium classes too (if you pay the premium price). Even though it's a small gym, I like that, Lifetime and even 24Hr were huge. Yes, maybe not for someone dedicated to free weights and expecting a lot of courtesy from other gym members, but 4 stars for someone like me.

Been going to this location for 2 years. It's clean, comfortable and friendly. They have a sauna in both men's and women's restrooms.

The gym is pretty clean regarding the classes maybe they can add body combat since Rufina does the same all the time.

Been to every gold's south of downtown and this one was the most claustrophobic / disorganized. It was probably the cleanest though.

I LOVE this gym because it is like a resort but I wish the membership prices were lower. It costs…read morearound $350 a month! There are tons of really nice treadmills, some with a running track that is curved and more rugged like you are running outdoors on a trail. The bikes are great, very updated. I do think the weights machines are outdated and need to be replaced. The TRX area has some classes. They also have several rooms with Pilates reformers, barre classes, as well as yoga, and circuit training. There are fancy stretching machines and massage chairs! Bonus! The sauna and steam room are separate sexes located in the locker rooms for privacy. The showers have good quality hair products and body wash. They even have razors and q-tips as well as cotton wipes. Hair dryers are available too. The pool area is really like a resort it is so nice. Plenty of loungers to relax on and good shade spots. This gym has all the beautiful people haha. Everyone is in like Lulu-lemon and dress to impress. Fun but a little intimidating when you wear old gym closes. They also have pickleball courts and basketball. You can take a pickleball lesson and sign up to play with others when comfortable. Lastly there is a spa and hair salon as well as a food center with high quality ingredients. This place is really really nice. I have never seen a nicer club in my life!

Telling me I had 2 prior violations of booking changes - turns out that was also incorrect because I only had 1 prior violation whereby I couldn't make it in time due to nyc subway being stopped. This time it was lifetime who booked me for 60 min when I wanted 30 min. I'm so over the spa here / they never have an esthetician available and charge $95 for a 30 min massage which is expensive by any means and the front desk manager is a bitch!

People walking around shirtless, dripping sweat, stinking, in bare feet, only socks, crocs, and Teva sandles. Nasty. Old dilapidated and low quality dumbbells, only 2 old treadmills and a few of the manual treadmills, no fixed weight barbells, a bathroom falling apart with the toilet bowl cover hanging on by one hinge. No air conditioning. Hot and smelly. Humid atmosphere. Couldn't draw up a worse gym in my imagination. To me it's 1 star but I guess to cross fit cultists this is what they like. Only a few smoothie choices and no chicken wraps or anything in their nutrition bar or whatever it's called. If you know how to work out and don't need or want a trainer or group then this place is definitely not for you. They do an incredible job on marketing and must edit photos or take superb angles like a catfish on tinder. Almost thinking they pay influencers to hype this place up. Either way I'd prefer the most basic Planet Fitness or Crunch 100x over this. In fact I'd rather get chubby and not work out over having to work out in an environment like this again.
