Just like me, I'm sure you've seen the franchises scattered all over the nation... I now understand…read morewhy there are so many Orangetheory Fitness (OTF) addicts! If your fitness goals include getting heart healthy, losing weight, etc OTF is the perfect place to start. I signed up for my first complimentary class online, and was contacted by the store manager, Dorothy, via phone call & text a few times. When I finally was able to schedule, I was able to easily text back and state when I wanted to come in. If the class has availability, you'll be able to get booked. For your first class, it's suggested to come early to sign forms and to familiarize yourself with the equipment and terms. My coach for the first class was Becky. I loved how welcoming Becky was and I felt comfortable coming in for my first fitness class since pre-covid. I love how Becky keeps you accountable. For my follow-up class, Mickey blew me away. Mickey has SO much energy and with the addition of her playlist, YOU ARE READY TO ROCK THIS!! Now for the cons... since these are essentially group fitness classes, if you are new to exercises, not much of a breakdown is provided. Form is important to me coming from an exercise science background. If your form is all wrong, you could easily injure yourself. The lack of space in between members doesn't help either for those needing modification/accommodations. Lastly, for new members, companies are typically supposed to overhype their product/s to the customer. Instead, service fell flat. I wanted OTF to sell it to me! Why OTF and not just any other gym or boutique studio? What's the purpose of purchasing OTF's heart rate monitors v wearing my own Fitbit/Apple watch? Why are splat points important? Questions I'll never have the answer to.

Ok so I started coming to this gym about two months ago. I tried the "free" day and signed up that…read moreday. My billing period started that day so technically it wasn't a "free" day:/ At first I thought it might be a little intimidating because it is an hour workout. The workout is typically broken out into three sections: threadmill, rowing, and floor weights. Even though I had never tried the rower, I've learned how to do things with each class. I like that you can go at your own pace so it is doable. I've also tried different coaches who motivate you and give you tips. Knocking a star because some of the machines sometimes have issues or Re broken. Overall I'm really enjoying this gym and already seeing results!

I have been involved with CrossFit for 4 years now. As both a coach and an athlete. I have been to…read moremultiple gyms across the country as I travel far and wide with my job. I've seen the good, bad, and ugly. Everything about CFA is top notch. You actually warm up here. You don't just do 10 cleans to get ready for a workout with 1000 cleans in it. You go into every workout and lift feeling prepared mentally and physically. I always felt like the programming was set with a direction and a goal towards a lift or workout. There are multiple for classes ranging from mobility, Olympic lifting, CrossFit, Hyrox, and even classes for soon to be mothers. I have very rarely ever seen that type of diversity in a gym throughout the whole country. The gym is organized. Everything has a spot. I've been to gyms where everything was just tossed in the corner, but that is not the case here. All the coaches are knowledgeable and helpful to every person regardless of their ability. The members are all welcoming. There is no ego in this gym and that's what I have loved about CFA. There are meet ups outside of the gym. It's meant to be a community. CFA is all the good things you'd want out of a CrossFit gym. It is truly a special place and I'd recommend this gym to anyone who is in the Austin area.

I met with Dylan at CrossFit Austin and I instantly knew he was the perfect Personal Trainer for me, and that he would help me accomplish my goals. I've now been working with Dylan a couple times a week for almost a year. I can't believe how strong and physically confident I've become working with Dylan. My body can now do things I would have never imagined it could do. He has helped me gain new strength after being diagnosed with Osteoporosis a few years ago, and has been helping me rebuild my health from a year of breast cancer treatments in 2017. I feel sure that when I am next tested for the Osteoporosis it will show that I've gained new bone since the last test.. I am confident that the strength training I've been doing with Dylan is the best thing I could be doing for my body and my health. I told Dylan when we started that I wanted to be a woman that could get up and down off the floor with ease at 90. I know that I will be that woman because I now know what my body is capable of when I exercise it properly and regularly. I feel great, I have more energy, I look young and fit, and I know that I'm a strong and healthy 60 year young woman. I can not recommend Dylan and CrossFit Austin enough. It's NOT your typical CrossFit Gym! I suggest you give it a try, whether it's for their group training classes or personal training.

My list: **Music is WAY WAY too loud: I try to listen to the news in my ear pods and can't even hear it. I give up. Not sure about other times of the day but if you go at 5am before work, beware! For safety reasons, we should not have to wear huge headphones to block out noise. What if there was an emergency? Half the people wouldn't hear it. Maybe they are wearing full headphones because they like them, but I'd really tend to think it's due to drowning out the morning music level. I am SO glad to see another review here about the ridiculous music level!!! **Leg Extension/Leg Crunch Machines: Certainly not enough of these (only one each as far as I know) and people are always, always waiting for them. One is actually down right now, going on a week. **For the size of the gym, the stretching area was designed way too small. This gym is pretty darn big and holds a lot of folks. This area is just too small. I've had to wait for it myself, especially in early mornings. **TVs: To quote someone else there are no TVs at the individual machines, so you're forced to watch whatever they have on. Having Direct TV on your phone won't help because you won't be able to hear it. Sigh. Overall. I do like this gym and its location, but based on the above, it's NOT my first choice.

There is a male member who…read morerepeatedly engages in inappropriate behavior -- including rubbing his genitals on equipment and weights, getting uncomfortably close to women while they work out, and making unwanted advances (such as asking for my number and to "hang out"). I, along with other women, have reported this behavior to management on multiple occasions. Despite our complaints, this individual is still allowed to come to the gym. As a woman, this makes me feel unsafe and extremely uncomfortable every time I try to work out here. What's worse is that when I expressed how uncomfortable I was after seeing him there again, the general manager actually got upset with me instead of addressing the problem. It is very disappointing that the management has not taken stronger action to protect their members. A gym should be a safe and respectful environment for everyone, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience here. Now I'm left having to decide whether to cancel my membership altogether or travel farther every day just to work out somewhere I feel safe -- and even then, I'm forced to be on guard and try to avoid him.

She has problems with reactivity on a leash, poor recall, and general stubborn behavior. We are still working through these things, but in six weeks with Sit Means Sit the difference is huge. She will not bark at other dogs now. If she does, it is once and she stops when I ask her to. She does not pull on the leash like she used to. I can actually get her attention when I need her to do something now. We trained at day camp with Ashley and she was incredibly helpful and knowledgable. She was so supportive and even stayed late with us to work through some problems together pretty much every lesson. My husband is reluctant to enforce rules or make our pup do things she doesn't want to do, and Ashley helped him with a few pep talks to understand why training is so important, even if it can be frustrating and uncomfortable. We are still learning and still have group classes to take, but so far I've been impressed and grateful.
