Date with a book, what an AMAZING AND FUN idea!

So, this place is legit the cutest shop ever! I don't drink coffee and didn't even realize I ordered one because the Dragon's Breath just sounded so good! ...Well, now I drink coffee. I was in the area again today and needed to stop for a second cup. Check this place out! I love the little mushroom books and books on herbs! More of that stuff please!! Otherwise it is a dream come true for all fans of fantasy and gorgeously adorned rooms that are better than being in your own living room!

This place is beyond adorable. They have quick and tasty coffee service BUT the vibe is the thing. How can you not live a fantasy theme with trees and nooks galore. There are two study rooms for more privacy and focus and plenty of comfy chairs and couches to sip your drink and start a new book. Their prices are reasonable and selection is curated without being too niche for book lovers. I picked up a board book version of paper bag Princess for my niece. Seriously stop by, it's a coffee shop that doesn't look like a corporate workspace. You won't regret it.

Don't miss the children's book room

I'd wager that no city in the USA has enough independent bookstores, except maybe New York--and this is not New York--so welcome to Knoxville (Fountain City, to be precise), Fable Hollow Bookshoppe! My wife and I have visited you every Saturday since you opened in early 2023, for a coffee date. I cannot tell you what a pleasure it is to enjoy tasty drinks (and some are unique creations that change monthly) at quite reasonable prices, and in an environment that calms our souls. The care with which the entire establishment has been decorated is everywhere to be enjoyed, from the "Pixie Burrow" children's room to the inviting fireplace in the back, to each little nook filled with books for the browsing. The only thing I can see that's missing is a cat, which of course is not enough of a problem to keep me from rating everything a total five star experience. Come and browse, Knoxville. . .you'll find coffee, books, and surprises (gifts! jewelry! candles! puzzles!) in store for you at Fable Hollow. There's nowhere else in town like it!

Visited twice for coffee. While they have ample seating, I've been disappointed in the coffee both times.

The space is super cute with tons of little nooks to sit and hang out, plus outdoor seating if you've got a fluffy friend with you.

I had a few books that I could've sold online for 20 bucks or more and I literally got $1.13 for them and some items I didn't get anything for my items and they took them anyways and on the paper I requested it shows zero cash value. If that's the case then they should give our items back and not just automatically tag them to put out on the floor. They need to rethink their system. If they want to buy an item they need to set it aside and give us a list of hay we buy these items for this amount are you OK with it . Not just assume hey yeah we can go ahead and take this item they don't care and we give them zero for it or $.19 trade-in value. I also mentioned when I got there whatever you guys don't buy from me I'll just take back. They did have some items, most of my items since I brought three bins of movies and video games and books that they did not want. I guess they assumed I didn't want them I said yes I want them back. I asked for a printout of what I sold so I can remove them from online if I had them posted. The guy said oh we don't do that. I said you don't keep track of what you're purchasing from me? He said oh yeah OK and printed out this list and I wish I would've actually looked at it and realized a lot of items they took I got zero for they just took for free. I was not donating items to them nor did I say I was gonna donate items to them. I did buy $30 worth of stuff here (3stuffed animals and a book). I could've got $31 in cash or $70 store credit so I used $30 store credit and got $20 cash back. So I was really hoping for a lot more because I had hundreds of DVDs I just didn't want to take the time to post them online because it's time consuming. But it's just really disappointing only getting literally nothing snd them taking my items and some items maybe a dollar if Im lucky. When I got home realized when I went through the list that they took my Xbox 360 games and movies I literally got nothing for them that kind of pisses me off because I was trying to make money and some of these were worth a decent amount. One of the NEW Xbox games online is worth $25 and they literally just took it and gave me nothing for it . So I definitely will not be selling to them ever again. If they weren't gonna give me any money for my items then they should be giving them back to me.

This shop is more of a collector's paradise than a modern bookshop which sets it apart. You are sure to find a special gift for the bibliophile or a tomb worthy of a permanent spot on your shelf. The staff are friendly and engaging, very easy going. There is no intimidation and you are welcomed to look around and pull books. Children are also welcomed and there are books downstairs for them. Plenty of seating and a comfortable atmosphere. There is a conference room downstairs which may be for rent. It would be a very cool place to meet. Must check out this shop when you are in the area. The books are priced fairly and meet a wide range of budgets.

I did end up buying a book for my son from an old whaler story (not moby dick lol). Some Americans saved some Irish political prisoners held in Australia by the British. Good story. And my comedian husband was trying to be serious reading a news paper about separation of church and state from Ben franklins time and the type setting had f instead of s (on purpose). So of course he read it out loud to me with the wrong f's and we laughed for about 5 minutes straight. They had good tea at the store too. Great atmosphere and cozy. Newer books available down stairs. We read for about an hour. Was fun & we highly recommend the place.

Decided to try this year for the vegan chef challenge just to see if there might be something I could eat or maybe I'd be wild and ask for the sandwich without the bread. Imagine my SHOCK when I saw gluten free bread on the regular vegan menu and asked if the GF bread was also vegan!! (Spoiler alert: it IS!) This now opens up a world of options, and more reasons to come back regularly. They have an EXTENSIVE vegan menu, and both soups offered the day I was there were vegan. The cashier told us there's a pub downstairs, with different vegan menu items. It's attached to a bookstore and has a homey, comfy feel. It's the kind of place you feel you could hang out in all day and no one would complain. The cashier was BEYOND helpful and friendly and made several recommendations for things to try in the future. The only bad thing is I wasted a year not trying this place. I'll need to make up for that!
