They had a lot of stock and they had exactly what my Sister was looking for in their cut fabric bin. What a gem!! I would describe this store as primarily a "discount fabric store", the way Ross, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls are discount clothing stores. Almost all the quilting fabric is $8/yard (some is $7/yard, licensed fabric is $13/yard, and Liberty fabric and Kate Fasset fabric are $10-14). This store was so wonderful to visit, and I was able to get everything I needed. Why I only have 3 stars: it was busy on a Saturday, which I expected, but it was hard to find what I needed and where I needed to go. When cutting my fabric the employees felt very standoffish and just looked at me impatiently as I tried to ask a question. I probably bought more fabric than I needed! It was also a little challenging to find the true price, some bolts had multiple prices listed. I did a review three years ago and I'm still giving you five stars, but I'm having issues with something that you've done in the quilting fabric department. I feel that you need to go back to putting lines of fabrics together; and the solids need to all be put together. I came into the store around a week ago and wanted multiple colors of one fabric design, I guess you would call it a blender. They are spread out all over the department now put with others of the same color. for example if I want a marbled fabric, or any of the blenders, instead of them all being together, you've put them with all the other let's say purple fabrics. Please go back to how you use to sort the fabrics in the store. I'm at a large bee and the other quilters agree. It's just too time consuming to find everything you need in a line. Found this place by accident but I am looking to reupholster a chair so I went in. They had a decent selection of fabric, trim, patterns, buttons & everything you would need for a project. They even had indoor/outdoor fabric & designer fabrics too, in every style, type & color imaginable. The restroom was very clean and uniquely decorated. A nice plus when you're out shopping. Unfortunately, not one single staff person greeted me or asked if I needed assistance or even acknowledged my presence & there was a group of 4 of them hanging out where you get good fabric cut, and others walking around in the store. I was there for a good 30 minutes looking at all the options. Makes me think that the customers aren't very important to them and I'm not so sure I would go back there. Needless to say, I left the sore empty handed & didn't not purchase from them. 3 stars is because of having a good selection & prices - 0 for the staff! read more

Lovely store with MANY fabric types! I loved how they had the store broken up into sections so you could find the fabric you're searching for a bit easier. The sections were home decor/upholstery, fashion, and quilting. They also had lots of notions, trims, buttons, and plenty more things! Great pricing as well, and loved the discount bin they had FILLED with a variety of fabric! I picked a couple from here- one measured a little over 4 yards, and another was closer to 2 or 3 yards (I forget) so it wasn't only small remnants in there which was great. Donna was so kind and helpful, giving me many tips on where to find things that were on sale and went above and beyond to look for a rain coat fabric in a different color than what they had out on the floor. I will definitely be back and highly recommend others to shop from this place!! read more

This place is just magical and it's staffed by the best people. I knew that someone who used to help me when I worked for a theatre in DC and would go to G Street (rip) all the time was there, but today I met Judith. She was so lovely that it's hard to put into words how much my interaction with her meant to me. Not to mention they have some really amazing barkcloth options right now. They do have a great selection of home decor fabrics But since that's what I'm mostly hunting for, it was great for me. And they have a wide assortment of Olfa rotary blade sizes- including the elusive 11mm that I can only find on Amazon and I would much rather support a local business than Amazon. read more

I'm actually really impressed...a lot of these fabric stores I expect to walk in and have it just be quilting fabric, but they had a huge assortment of other textiles such as fashion fabric, upholstery, cotton, and a huge pile of buttons which just makes me happy. The Fabric Place Basement is located around the RIGHT edge of a strip mall that includes Lowes. Just go to the Lowes, turn right, go all the way to the corner (drive, don't walk, it's a long way), and turn right at the Panera bread. I took my daughter here, looking for fake fur for a fur suit she is building. (don't ask) Unfortunately they didn't have exactly what she needed. But what they did have was an impressive collection of just about everything else and helpful staff that were willing to take the time to show her around. This place is a lot nicer (and cleaner) than any Joann fabric we've been to, closer (to Arlington) and more reasonably priced than G Street. What this is is a well stocked fabric and crafts store that with no goal besides helping people with their projects. You may find it's worth going a bit further to shop here. read more

The notions department has a variety of items--thread, zippers, buttons, scissors, etc. A bulletin board at the entrance has all kinds of sewing related information. Everyone is so friendly. My first visit, I LOVED the experience. They had such a great selection of drapery and upholstery fabric, (my passion). They also had high end sheers and satin taffetas, and remnant tables. What's a fabric store if it doesn't sell remnants? The store was very clean, organized, the sales people helpful, and you can navigate easily in the aisles. There is a guy who will service your machines, AND sharpen your scissors. A good machine repair mechanic is hard to come by. He comes every other week. Truth be told, I have known him for years and he is the ONLY guy who has serviced my machine. I will drive to him where he goes. Let me say the fabrics were so reasonably priced. High end linens go for over $30 easily. These drapery linens were under $20. I thought I was misreading the label. I wish they were closer to me. I live in Manassas. I took a fist full of business cards. I will get the word out. And I will be back. Though I am not a quilter, they would love this place. Many notions, the ribbon was a steal price wise.
