Almost 3 months later, I'm still dealing with brittle, yellow nails that this salon caused me. I walked in for a polish change- and they looked at me like I have a 3rd eye. They've never seen people with beautiful natural nails. All they do is gross acrylic. The nail tech ruined the top layer of my natural nails by filing it too much. Then she put some gunk on, which I had a very tough time removing later. It was a base coat that stuck on my nails so hard that regular nail polish was not able to remove. I had to scrape it off. I thought if I go to an upscale area in Minnesota- I'd get service like I'd expect anywhere in NYC, but no. This is a village type place and they're doing nails the same way they've done since 2002. I got a gel manicure here and it was my first time in. I made an appointment and came in on time, I ended up waiting 20 minutes past my appointment which wasn't a huge deal I understand that the timing of appointments can be difficult to estimate. The woman who did my nails did a great job and I loved how they looked, but it's only been a week and my gel is peeling up/puffing up from the cuticles and chipping. The tops of the gel is cracking and getting dark. Gel usually lasts me about 3 weeks but I doubt this manicure will even last me two which makes me extra sad because I love the way they look. I asked to have a manicure with a french nail dip. The technician never did a finger soak or cuticle removal & the quality was so poor that my nails were chipping in 5 days. There was no hand massage or extra care. I had to have my nails redone 5 days later & went to Fabulous Nails in Long Lake & Thao did a great job! read more

I would not recommend this place. I've gone fabulous nails a few times just to get a manicure and the service was fine. My sister even got her wedding nails down there. However, her nails were definitely not the best and since she's not a picky person, she didn't want to pay again to get them fixed somewhere else. However, my last experience has tipped me overboard. I went in to get a gel pedicure and within 3 days of getting it done, both of my big toe nails had ripped off half way down my nail. I'm now in the process of trying to repair and regrow the left over nail. Ugh. I would not recommend it. I traveled from Eagan to follow my nail tech, Tim. He's amazing. He always does a great job on my nails. He's very nice, pleasant and takes his work seriously. This establishment has new ownership/management as of a few months ago. I met the owner. She did my pedicure and did a great job. Pedicures are often seen as easy, but they can be great, too. She's extremely nice and did a great job. She also gave me Vietnamese yogurt to try. It was delicious. The establishment is spacious, beautifully designed, great music and serene visuals on the TV. I was in town for a wedding and looking to get pampered before the ceremony. Ideally, I wanted a simple polish manicure & brow wax. After stopping in two other nails salons and leaving because they didn't offer brow wax, I finally settled on Fabulous Nails. Unfortunately, they didn't offer brow waxing either but I was desperate so just got the polish. (Side note...do nail salons in this town not offer brow waxing???) Prices and job were nice but manicurist was cold and off-putting and rough with the trim that left my cuticles sore and cut even days after. Service could be better. I chose red for the 4th of July and there is red polish all over my cuticles and the skin around my nails from where the lady missed. I will not go back here again. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I use to go here all the time and loved the work they have done with my dip manicures. Well the last time I went in before halloween and had Amy. She did alright on my black dip nails. Well two days later my thumb just chipped off a bit. Clearly not very happy I went back in to fix the nail, someone else did it and it seemed like a hassle to fix one nail. They questioned and asked if I had actually got my nails done here which I said, "yes?" Obviously confused cause I see them every two weeks. She finished and I was assuming it would be free because I just got them done but she said $5. So I gave her my card and she said "never mind"... so clearly she just wanted a tip which I would of gave her a couple bucks but just didn't have any cash. So I said well I'll be sure to be super careful next time. That should of been my last time there but I was hoping to go back being happy because I have enjoyed this place. Well I went in today and will never go back. I walk in and ask for a dip manicure, they said ok about 10-15 minutes. I said ok that's fine. Well 10-15 minutes went by and all I had was a lady just hand me the colors and not say anything. I always pick the same color so I had it ready already. Amy, who was going to do my nails again just asked if I had any polish on which I said, "yes dip". She walked back to her station. I asked how much longer till it was my turn because it was over 25 minutes and they just kinda said something to each other and 5 minutes later she pointed to Amy's chair. I sit down and she starts shaving down my nails and asked if she did my nails last time and I said yes. Well she was shaving down WAY too fast and nicked my nail. I pulled away it hurt so bad and she just demanded I give her my hand, I said no because it hurt so bad! I finally gave it back and she tried to glue my skin and nail which I said, "no do not glue my finger!!" She said it would make it feel better!? I don't know about you but I don't want super glue on my cut nail and finger... she started to shave it again and nicked it AGAIN!!!! It was so deep it for sure hit to my skin. She didn't even apologize! I said please stop and just soak it with acetone! (Since it will clearly come off) she finished my other fingers getting the dip off and takes a look at my finger she shaved down. She showed her coworker as they exchanged some words and the lady cringed and slightly just laughed....... finally after sweeping it with acetone she looks at me and says, "well I cant do your nails. I can do all of them but this one cause its too deep of a cut sorry bout it." I'm like well yeah, I'm done! I started packing up in disbelief. Trust me I would of left after she shaved almost half of my nail off but I at least wanted the previous polish off. She didn't apologize for shaving my nail down to my skin. She just said sorry she couldn't do my nails.... well I left and called the manager and all she did was make excuses for her. I told her they lied about how long they would be and she said no it was only 10 minutes..... which I said no it absolutely wasn't. If it's going to be longer just tell me. Wasting MY time. She also said she heard the conversation of them laughing at me which she said they weren't. Which sure I can't prove, but when Amy takes my hand and puts it in front of her coworkers face and they cringe and laugh, I have a good idea what they might be talking about. Anyway after the excuses I told her I understand stuff happens, but wow the way they dealt with the situation was horrible. At least the manager apologized... I also realized a couple other reviews are saying they had problems with their nails being shaved down too far as well... super unprofessional. read more

I called in to ask if they give student discounts before I made the appointment (I'm a college student). They said yes. After my appointment I asked her how much off for the student discount and she then told me it was only for high school students.... Being a student is being a student regardless what level the education. In fact, in high school I could afford the service more. All other student discounts I've received at other salons include high school and college education. Ridiculous. Would've gone somewhere else had I known. read more

I had terrible customer service. They told me to just pay and leave. I not be returning.

Wish I could give 0 stars, the worst service I've had in my life. I walked in to see if they had any space and they directed me to this guy at the back. I said I would be okay with a full set of acrylic or a fill for gel, whatever he could do. He said he could do acrylic but then couldn't get my gel polish off so he went to town on my nails with a metal scraper and the electric took. He pushed so hard on the electric tool that I felt like my nerves were literally getting damaged. Then once he started the acrylic process and put the liquid on my nail beds were super red and beaten up. He put the acrylic nails on and cut them with a scissors which usually isn't the right tool, then filed them for about five seconds, they weren't shaped at all and there was plastic hanging off of them. He then globbed the acrylic paste on and molded it like clay to my nails so that the top pets looked super thick and globby. He had several people come by, obviously I could not understand them but it looked as if they were observing him and kind of laughing a little because quite honestly it looked like a first grader working on an art project. At one point he even had his arm resting on MY NAILS. He even had a lady take his place and do one of my nails the correct way where you dip it at the end, slide it down and then fix it. After 2 hours he realized they were very uneven so took around 15 more minutes to file the shit out of them and then finally started painting. I had a pale pink on my fingers before and this pink is more princess pink with sparkles which I absolutely did not pick out. At the end I told the lady about my experience and said I don't think they should be full price. She said she thinks they look good and sometimes it takes a while. I gave her the example of the lady sitting down and showing him how to do it almost as if this place was a beauty school and she disregarded it, she said if she were to take any money off she would have to take all my nails off, and that my only option was I could take off my tip. It was completely ridiculous and almost laughable that they pretended like they didn't see him doing a terrible job. Please go to suite nails or bliss nails down the road, they are so good!! Updated pictures of after they were taken off, my nails are absolutely ruined and they hurt and he went so far into my nail they still have not healed and all have big dents in them. Don't let them use an electric sanding tool to remove gel polish. I really like this place,but after three gel polish applications and removals by various staff using a tiny electric rotary head file, my nails were sanded down so much that they break and flake and are visibly thinner than the new growth at the bottom of each nail. Even with polish, you can see the ridge this creates on each nail. If I go back, I will insist that they soak off the old polish, even though it takes longer. read more

Loved where it was located, super cute area and the inside was very clean and organized, look very professional. But I wasn't too happy with the service. I was hoping it was going to be better due to the reviews I read. I was helped right away with getting my acrylics filled and I enjoyed the color selections and the brands of polish. But when I had my nails filled she burned some of the skin around my nails with the hand drill. I've felt it before so I wasn't terribly hurt. And a few of my nails were broken the acrylic was, and she tried her best to fix it but it was uncomfortable I could feel the dried acrylic underneath my nail, I asked her to try to drill it down which she did. If you're familiar with acrylic I felt that she could of had a form to fix it or just take the whole acrylic off of those fingers. Next, when she painted my nails she didn't get the side walls and I hate that, she told me to go to the drying thing and I sat there for a bit. And in the back of my mind I knew it wasn't on but I didn't know what to do, I didn't know how to turn it on. She left me to figure it out on my own. So I finally asked her, "is this on, how do you turn it on?" She came and turned it on. I didn't know, I shouldn't have to figure it out it was my first time there. I have never been "loyal" to a nail salon before- to me they are all pretty much the same and the prices are too- BUT I have come back to this salon 5 times now and they have raised my expectations. They give me their full time and offer nice perks without raising the price. For example, I got an amazing ten minute foot massage with my pedicure, whereas most places are more of just a five minute rub down. With my manicures, I have gotten a hand massage with a mositurizing serum, which was also more than I usually expect. I highly recommend this place. read more

They have 2 levels of Mani's and Pedi's - the standard, and the luxury. What they call "luxury" is what I've gotten as standard everywhere else. For the $20 I paid for a manicure, I literally just got my nails filed and painted. I could've done that myself... I went to a salon to get a little pampered. I was VERY disappointed.
