i was looking for a new foundation. My old Aveda Aster compact is finally empty. I purchased the HydroPure tinted serum. Light. I used it the following day and was dismayed to find the bottle is plastic not glass! After application it was clear in the normal light of day, rather than under the store lights, the color is much too yellow and noticeably not a match. And the finish was so dry. I could not tell it had any hyaluronic acid in it at all. I blew that $58.00+tax! I have taken to mixing it with a very light/pink liquid tinted moisturizer so that I don't waste the entire $58. But it is still a real disappointment and I wish the esthetician would have done a better color match. And I cannot fathom that a high end store like Juut in Wayzata would sell a product like this in plastic! read more

Run! This place destroyed my hair. I went in a couple months ago to have my hair dyed for the first time since my teens. (I'm in my 30s) I asked for rose gold balayage and grey coverage. I said I didn't want hot pink but it turned out hot pink and patchy. They fixed it at the time with another tint and I left satisfied. Well apparently the bleach was left in too long bc later that SAME WEEK my hair puffed up like steel wool and started breaking off and falling out, which has continued and continued and continued. Despite spending well over $100 on damage repair products from elsewhere. No maintenance products were recommended to me at the time despite them knowing I was new to lightening my hair. The jacket I had on at the time (my favorite one of course) now also has numerous bleach spots. I'm devastated and it's affected my work bc I do commercial modeling and acting, and now my length is different from my photos -- and looks terrible. I'm beside myself. I'm now due for more root touch ups but I'm afraid to put any more chemicals on my hair. One extra star for the stylist being nice, she meant well, but they didn't train her well enough to prevent allowing this to happen! I don't even know what would make this right bc the hair has already broken off and fallen out. Pics are before, during, after, and now, not sure what order they'll appear in. Long healthy natural color hair was before, pink was during, light pink was how I left and I was ok with it, and now it's a shriveled nightmare and I'm just sick over it. read more

They have lost me as a customer forever. I used to go regularly. Yesterday I had to cancel an appointment that I had made the day prior due to an emergency at work and they charged me full price for that appointment. I am also disappointed that they have too many $$$ add-ons (even conditioner), and it is impossible to get through their phone service (you have to listen to David Wagner droning on about making your day). First of all, I have no complaints about my colorist in Edina. She was above and beyond terrific. However, she had to go on medical leave. In order to fill the gap until, and if she could come back a scheduler recommended a colorist at this locatio. She and I did a consultation, and she seemed comfortable moving forward, however, we did not finalize the formula and I realized that afterwards so I asked if I could stop by and discuss it. A scheduler booked another consultation. I didn't think it was polite to just show up any time that suited me. As a result, Human Resources showed up, and accused me of being someone else, who apparently, was a problem. I should note my circumstances are different. I came here last June, from the UK, because my father-in -law has cancer, and we needed to find him better care. I don't know how long we are even staying, so I had not had a chance to update things. One of the HR employees tried to tell me she has met me, and I know she has not; I had hardly been here, and know very little about the Twin Cities. I was asked to email a my Passport, which I am uncomfortable doing, and my husband did not want me to do that, so we thought we would come to the corporate office, and discuss the situation. When I called to find out how to go about that, the scheduler was rude, and hung up on me. Since I work in healthcare, I am refraining from saying names. Initially, I was not going to say anything, but since other people won't work with me, I am concerned about what is out there. I would love nothing more than to be able to work with the colorist I had, however, since nobody will reason with me, I decided to post this, because I am hurt. read more

I've had my hair cut a few times here with jr stylists and have always left happy. But recently I opted for the $$ pedicure and was not pleased. It was mediocre at best, barely any massage and took a half Hr. Really really a waste of time and money. Ive been to much more attentive Aveda salons than this one by far. Fabulous. I might be a little generous due to the fact that I am overwhelming stressed with multiple family severe illnesses, travel etc.-but it was bliss. Amanda was my massage therapist. My boyfriend and I arrived with adequate time before our appointment. We were shown the waiting area and shown restroom area and asked if we would like tea or water. After a little bits our therapist came out and introduced us and whisked ys off to our own appointments. We had a mini consult about my needs etc. and asked about oil aromatherapy. She helped me select with a soothing smell test- she would gently put her hand on my shoulder- inhale-then next and next. That on it's own was already soothing. Between consult undressing etc our 3:30 apt's actual massage didn't start until 3:45 The massage was perfect. I was relaxed to point where I had struggle to stay awake. She focused on my sacral and upped back area where I carry a lot of stress. I've actually had quite a few massages and I can tell you she is worth the extra level fee. When she gently told me the massage was over I had to stretch and struggle to refrain from falling asleep. I glanced at the clock :4:45. I give super BIG kudos to giving me the full hour massage. It really irks me when places cut corners and manages to shave 15mins or so off your massage. My boyfriend had Kim and he said she did a great job as well. Loved the stretching. I entered cranky, tense, stressed and left recharged by my hour of bliss and rejuvenation- "getting away" is so good for the soul. I have another a week of stress ahead of me and now I feel like I can handle it...thank you Amanda :) read more

I cannot say enough about the wonderful ness of this place and the sweet baby angels that work there. I called originally to get a horrendous haircut from another place fixed (aka emotionally and in tears) and the sweet lady at the front desk helped me get in the same day with Amy. Amy gets five stars on her own, she listens and talks through the process before even beginning the cut (and of course the spine-melting mini massage!). Her energy is one of someone who definitely cares about her customer and that loves her job. After such a fabulous experience with Amy, I decided to come back for some color with Lynny. It was another amazing experience! Everything was very relaxing and spa like, and with great results! I highly recommend this place if you're unsure of where to go and are overwhelmed by all of the reviews. Cons it can feel a little factory like, in and out service, rotating clients quickly. It is rather busy! Good sign! Mostly pleasant experineces here and good customer service. Most the stylists are exceptional and attentive to detail following through with your service. Another pro is if you are not happy with your hair they will fix it free of charge! I have been seeing Steffany Hingos as my colorist for a while now, and after having her color my hair, I will never let anyone else touch it! I have pretty typical "dirty blonde" hair and had been looking for years for someone that could consistently get me to the right shade of blonde, without going too warm or damaging my hair. Steffany starts by doing a consultation to make sure she knows exactly what you are looking for, and she really stands behind her work. Steffany also is not only fantastic with hair, but so sweet and a joy to be around. She makes the time go by so quickly, and it's really apparent that she loves her job. Two things I am passionate about: getting my hair done (shallow - but I'm a girl so back off), and great customer service. I went to this salon years ago and what I remember was that the stylists were all talented, but their service was lacking. Yesterday was like deja vu. If I'm a new client, would you really keep me waiting for 25 minutes without any indication how long I would have to sit there? I got up to reschedule and should have left but she beat the buzzer. I was disappointed - a 20 second "sorry I'm running late" would have made all the difference. Instead I tried to cut the service as short as I could for both our sakes. PROS: The overall service at Juut is as good as it gets in comparison to other hair salons. They are welcoming, always greet you with a smile and the option of a glass of water infused with natural citrus flavors, tea or coffee. As for haircuts, my go-to stylist is Stephanie out of the Wayzata location. Her experience and talent is unmatched. I highly recommend her. CONS: Recently, I unfortunately had a surprisingly disappointing experience which is bringing the rating waaaay down from a 5-star "As good as it gets" to a measly 3-star "A-OK." Here is the deal, I've been a regular customer of Juut for 5+ years. Recently, I decided to prolong the time between my haircuts to grow it out, but continued to come in for the Stephanie's neck trims (she spends more time than average and does a fantastic job- one of the main reasons behind paying as much as I do for a dude's haircut, driving as far as I do and coming here for as long as I have been). Well, apparently I had one too many neck trims, because Stephanie had to (very politely) inform me that she is now in a position she might have to charge me for extra neck trims per management. Needless to say, I was irked. In my opinion, that was an amateur and naive move by Juut's management team. There are literally 1000s of hair salons to pick from, and in such a market, you compete by offering, great, unique and customizable service- especially when you charge a premium. That's how you breed repeat customers. If I'm literally paying 5 times as much as I'd pay at your average hair salon, I expect one-of-a-kind service. Stephanie, and I bet most of the other stylists as well, are capable of providing that service. Therefore management should not be tying their hands and limiting their ability to give that customized service. Moreover, I don't consistently have that many neck trims in-between haircuts - on average I have a lot less. They should have recognized that. So STEP-IT-UP Juut, and don't do the classic mistake of focusing on short term gains at the expense of the long term ones. I'm disappointed. PARKING: Located in a strip-mall so plenty of parking. All-in-all, I'll continue to go to Juut for now- their stylists and front desk staff are awesome. But there certainly seems to be a a disconnect between management and the customer needs. read more

For the past 9 years, I have only been getting my hair trimmed. Today, I decided to take the leap and get 8 inches cut off my hair. It was thrilling but scary to take the leap, and my experience at Juut was nothing short of incredible. I had heard positive things about Anna, and now I can say for certain that she is amazing! She's a really skilled stylist and is so friendly. She is a natural, and made the haircut process look effortless (though it surely requires major skills)! Choosing Aveda means I left with hair that looks beautiful and smells delightful. From the scalp massage, to the comfortable shampoo + conditioning on the slanted beds, to the actual haircut and styling, I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back! read more

if I could give zero for the manicures here, I would. Three different gel manicures with two different nail techs and each time, either the polish peeled completely off after 5 days (the 1st two instances) and the third time the nail tech pushed back the cuticles and left them there and didn't even clip off the hang nails on any of the fingers. I pointed the rough edges and hang nails and asked her to clean them up and clip with the cuticle clippers at those areas and she flat out refused! She said this wouldn't help them (?) she would take care of them after she put the polish by sanding them down and rubbing oil on them. (As in, "I'm too lazy too put anymore work into these as you're my last customer of the day") It's two hours later, the oil has since washed off and the hang nails are catching on my clothes and are painful. I called to complain and as usual with any JUUT I'm told, "The manager isn't here." Three strikes you're out JUUT. For the the 70 bucks (not including the tip which she didn't deserve) I wasted I can get a better mani AND a pedi at the local Mom & Pop nail place anywhere else and not deal with a tech with a snotty attitude. I've had these hands all my life, I think I know better than some millenial on the nuances of my hangnails. Jeez.... read more

This is not the place to go to get a pedicure. The nail technician is not friendly and does not go out of her way to be a "daymaker" like others who work at Juut. I knew things were off to a bad start when she accusingly asked me if my gel polish was put on at a Vietnamese place and seemed annoyed that she had to remove it. Never mind the fact that Juut charges you $20 to have gel polish removed anyway (which of course was not communicated to me on the phone when I made the appointment)!! I expected sooo much more from my experience here. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where the employees don't seem inconvenienced by you. It will make for a much more enjoyable pedicure experience. read more

I just had a fantastic Juut Salon Facial with Nathalie. It's a 90-minute service that begins with a foot soak and includes a skin analysis, choice of massage oil fragrance, customized facial that incorporates LOTS of great-smelling and -feeling Aveda products, extraction, acupressure, neck/scalp/shoulder massage, arm/hand massage, and finally a foot/calf massage. Bliss! Nathalie is friendly, pleasant, and easy to talk to. She told me she loves what she does, and it shows. She answered all my skin care questions, and gave me plenty of expert recommendations for new products and methods I can incorporate into my daily routine to look and feel more beautiful. I also purchased a make-up application and Nathalie gave me a great, fresh look for my Wednesday "date night," using products that I hadn't tried before. It was fun! Oh Wayzata. I don't get why so many people are so inthralled with you. Has anyone ever driven around Wayzata? it looks like any other suburban area. Yeah sure there is the Cute little "down town" main street area that ever little suburb has. Ever been to White Bear? yet everyone talks like the people who live there are dripping in diamonds. I say this because this is not the first Wayzata spa that i have reviewed and it was not the first time that the service provided bragged about their clientele(see Twiggs) A friend and I recently visited Juut to get side by side pedicures. We Settled on Juut because Our favorite spot is not open on Mondays and we heard that Juut carries the same nail care line: Spa Rituals. First I should say that I himmed and hawed about making the appointment there because when I called to confirm that they used Spa Rituals I was told that they are the only spa in Minnesota that carries it. I'm not a fan of liars. I just hoped that the desks lack of knowledge wasn't a reflection of the spa. We choose the mid range pedicure because we were interested in what a bamboo exfoliant was. I was annoyed as soon as we arrived; the little room we were stuffed in to wait for our services was barely the size of small a walk in closet. I felt like I was practically sitting on my friends lap. At this point I was fairly jealous of those that got to sit in the large waiting room that was visible from the lobby. For some reason our pedicures didn't start at the same time. The girl that was doing mine seemed like she was in a hurry. Besides the polish my therapist didn't use any other Spa ritual products on me. It was ALL Aveda. Not only was I disappointed because I was told over the phone that they use Spa Ritual and I was expecting the same great treatment that my fave spa uses but I know that Spa ritual is VEGAN and that is something that I like to pay attention to. I don't think that being vegan is a claim that Aveda has ever made. Plus that was the second Lie that Juut told me. It seemed that my friend and I got to completely different pedicures and honestly I was jealous of hers because her technician seemed to take more time and do a great deal more massage. and for some reason they were using different products from the Aveda line. There were a few EW moments. My therapist kept rubbing her nose with her hand. My friends therapist kept scratching his head. I'm Paranoind and these are things that gross me out In the end we felt rushed. It was nothing special and they apparently consider drying time to be apart of the service time (even though they walked away as soon as they turned the drier on and asked us to turn them back on when the cycle ended) The funniest moment had to be when we were walking out and we asked about the bamboo exfoliate. The nail girl had no idea what we were talking about. I read the ingredients on the scrub they used and didn't see anything. She didn't have an answer for why the webpage claimed it was a bamboo based scrub. In short, my nails look like they got pampered. But I didn't feel vary pampered. I left feeling cheated. I won't stray from my favorite spot again. And I should say with so many little mom and pap business out there I'm going to make an extra effort to stay away from the chains. EDIT: to add insult to injury my mother and law tried to book pedicures there and was told it would be 75 for a basic pedicure she was leary about that as it was. and it turned out that it was 90! read more

I had my hair colored yesterday by Amber M at Juut in Wayzata. She did a fantastic job. I thought it may be tough for her to find the right color due to the fact it had been a while since I had last had it colored somewhere else. It looks amazing. The color was exactly what I wanted. She was sweet and funny and I really enjoyed the service. She also gave me a great scalp massage. After my color I had a haircut with Ali- another amazing service. She had great ideas and took the time to listen to mine. This is probably one of the best haircuts/blow-dry's ever. The true test... today when I styled my own hair it looked great. That to me is the sign of a great haircut. I definitely will go back to see them. read more

VERY disappointed in this location. I have been coming here for more than ten years. It is a tradition to bring my best friend to get an annual spa service for her birthday. We share a cocktail, laughs, a spa treatment and celebrate our friendship. Today we were refused a spa treatment due to having a cocktail. The staff laughed at us when we left and treated us like second class citizens. They humiliated us as if we did something wrong. Immature, sad, and unprofessional behavior. If you are planning to celebrate a friendship with a spa treatment, I highly recommend New Reflections, revamp, Spalon Montage, and Simonsons. Not Juut in Wayzata. read more

Great massage here with Colleen the other day. Very prompt and professional service. Nice array of aromatherapy scents that to choose from- the oils seem to be more moisturizing than other places so my skin didn't feel so sticky when I left! Pretty spendy, especially for a master level masseuse, and this location has only master and senior level, no studio level- but then again I don't usually splurge on massages. I had a gift card, otherwise I probably wouldn't have come here. Overall, great experience if you are willing to shell out the money for it. read more
