Also, when my child asked the nail stylist questions, such as, "what's your name?", stylist refused to answer her and continued to tell her to hold still. What should have been a bonding moment between myself and my youngest turned into myself trying to create a positive experience for my child. This was my first time here. I was attending an event hosted by a sponsor that basically reserved the salon for a couple of hours. They brought in their own drinks cans, sandwiches and chip bags to make it a party atmosphere. I had a regular polish mani/pedi. The pedicure was relaxing in my massaging chair. There was a nice hot water massage soak before beginning on my nails. My nails specialist was gentle (my feet can be tender from running) and I never had to ask her to be careful. My legs were massages with oil and dried with a warm towel. Very nice experience. I usually don't have my finger nails done but on this occasion I did and she did a wonderful job on those as well. My nails were dirty and split from doing yard work. They were uneven and very bad looking and she trimmed them up, evened them out and made them look amazingly better than they were. The nails that I ended up with were very cute and I like them, but they have not held up amazingly. I got a dip set and I've seen some cracking in them in less than a week. They also were not very polite during our time there which made the experience less than ideal. I've gone to Lakeside Nails for services a few times a year since it opened. The majority of the time I've been pleased with the services. The prices are competitive, and the staff is pleasant. Relaxed, nicer vibe. The nail drying area could use individual stools versus a single bench, as it becomes tricky to climb on and off if more than 1 person is sitting there. This became an issue at my recent appointment. I decided to try a Dazzle Dry pedicure which is a quick dry polish, for an additional $10. I sat in the nail drying area for 10 minutes, then the nail technician said I could leave. As I was trying to get off the bench (as another client was sitting there), my toe bumped on the bench and caused polish to smear on my big toe. The nail tech fixed it with 1 coat of polish and top coat, which resulted in more time spent there. Plus the one coat didn't match the rest of the toes which I didn't notice until I got home. Based on this experience, the Dazzle Dry didn't seem worth the additional price. I'll return to this salon but not for Dazzle Dry. read more

I came here for a pedicure with my mom when I saw things had opened back up. The staff is very friendly, and they have a wide color selection. The salon is super clean, and everyone took cleanliness seriously. My only complaint is that I wish more services were offered with the pedi box - I wanted to treat myself since it had been so long since I got my last pedicure. I saw her grabbing the dremel bit from a small DIRTY candy tin I refused to let her or anyone use dirty tools on me after talking to the manager telling me I am stupid and don't know before telling me to leave. So I had to walk out without my nails done and looking like shit. NOBODY DESERVES TO BE KICKED OUT for wanting not to get a fungus from unclean tools. I will be calling the health department. Probably one of the most bizarre and worst experiences I've ever had at a nail salon. For starters, the nail tech made me feel like I was wasting her time or inconveniencing her somehow. Also, the salon offers complimentary water bottles to clients. Which is nice of them. However, if you aren't a regular here or you look a client who isn't going to spend very much money you get a mini water. What a joke! I was also basically forced to pay with my debit card when I asked if I could pay with a cc. The only positive encounter I had at Lakeside was with the waxer. She was super friendly and did an amazing job! Other than that not worth your time or money. Lastly, Lakeside would probably have a lower yelp score, but they send you a survey from a third party service at the end of your visit which doesn't get tracked here. Never Again. read more

Hands down the best salon in Minnetonka! First, I love how clean the techs are and how clean the facility is. It's always spotless, bright, and spotless inside. The chairs are amazing. Their color selection is awesome, and their techs take their time. The owner is also a huge reason why this place is incredible. My mom, sister, & I went for a mani/pedi day on my sister's birthday and had a wonderful time. This salon is immaculately clean, modern, beautitful and inviting. The pedi chairs are brand new massage chairs that I could have happily spent the whole day in. I had the classic manicure & pedicure and was really impressed with the results. The staff were all wonderful and skilled with both massage and nail care. We had wonderful time and left relaxed, with beautiful fingers & toes. As others have mentioned, between the Opi & Zoya color options, the selection is fantastic. I will definitely return here for nail services, even though I don't live in that immediate area. After trying to walk-in and calling several other salons I finally found Lakeside and they were able to get me in for a dip manicure right away. The salon is so nice inside and there was a ton of parking when I was there in the morning. TiTi did my manicure and she did such a great job! I had never done a dip before and I'm so happy I did! They have a ton of colors and it looks much nicer than gel, TiTi was able to really perfect all the edges and curves. Made an appt here because of the great reviews. I have to say this is not only the most clean nail salon that I have seen in awhile but the most organized. Everyone signs in and you are offered a bottle of water. They make you feel so welcome. I tried the powder dipped French ombré after having years of liquid gel and it looks amazing. Did I mention you get a shoulder massage after your manicure? Incredible and Tanh (sorry about the spelling) was so gentle. I was so excited when this spot opened up! I originally booked an appointment for a dip manicure. I asked my technician if this service would allow my nails to appear a bit longer (as that's what I read online, and I have very short nails). the technician said yes it would, and started applying acrylics to me. I stopped her and said that I do not want acrylic nails! she went ahead and glued it on to show me how it looked. I still did not like it. at this point, three employees came up to me in an attempt to sell me on the service. this made me extremely uncomfortable denying it as all the other customers saw the ordeal go down. I was very embarrassed after this and went ahead with my regular, well-known, and safe gel manicure. unfortunately, this has been the *worst* experience with gel I have ever had in my life. I was happy when the polish held up for 3 weeks, but by the 4th week, my nail beds were far overgrown. I have never had a gel that holds on so tight - this may sound like something you would like, but it was scary when the polish wouldn't budge after my attempts. 5 weeks in and I had to do the standard gel removal procedure myself. I want to note that I have never had to do this before - I have never gone in to have any type of gel removed or ever had to do it myself. after keeping the acetone on my nails for 15, then 20, then 30 minutes with no luck, I had to scrape the rest of the polish off. my nails are so weak and look worse than they ever have in my life. the damage is visible and my nails feel like sandpaper. I don't know if this technician had a vendetta and purposely aggressively glued this polish on, or if it's just their standard technique. regardless, it will take my nails months to grow back to their healthy state - and I will not be coming back by the time that happens. read more

Let me start by saying the facility is extremely nice. I loved the cleanliness, tranquility, and feel it had to offer. Some nail salons are cluttered and disorganized, but there was nothing in the salon that was out of place. However, there was a miscommunication about what services I wanted done. When I informed Jenny that I in fact did want a manicure, as well as, a polish change she seemed annoyed as she had already put the base coat on one hand before I realized she hadn't done the manicure portion. I apologized profusely for the miscommunication, but her annoyance was still apparent. She grabbed her tools and went to work right away. She didn't file the sides of my nails down which I thought was odd, but at this point I already felt like I had been put in the position of a difficult customer. Then as she put the polish on a few bubbles appeared because she was applying the layers too thick. I asked her to please fix them as I knew I'd destroy my nails the second I got out of the salon picking at them. Again, the utmost annoyance. She was having a hard time concealing it on her face at this point. I let her finish, the whole time apologizing for being difficult. As she finished up i was inspecting my nails. She says to me, "what's wrong just tell me." At that point I felt pretty embarrassed, and was not about to make her redo them all again. As soon as I got to my car I noticed another bubble on the same nail she had to redo, and visible brush strokes on about half the nails. As soon as I got home it had already started chipping off the tip on one of my thumbs and middle fingers. She didn't properly seal the ends. I still gave her a generous tip (almost 30%) because she has to make a living, although I'm extremely displeased with my nails, and her attitude at the time. Maybe it wasn't a good day for her. I also am pregnant so I know some days are hard to deal with people. But honey, you're providing a service, and you have to fake it til you make it regardless. I was hoping to have found my new nail salon, but I won't be back. On a side note, I also noticed they don't use disposable liners on their pedicure tubs. eek! read more

GREEDY and DISHONEST, nails FALL OFF next day. WORST experience ever! I came to fully redo my fake nails, - that's what I told to the administrator. The guy Jeremy, who worked my nails, just did some filling for me and the work was done pretty good at the first look. I trusted him that he understood taking the risk and not taking away old material that was on my nails before. I paid $60 for it ($55 for the work plus tip). Next morning, less than 24 hours later- my nails started falling apart, I was really sad about that, because I came here to fix my nails, not to get them into worse condition than before. I called them, explained everything, they were open to fix it - or so I thought. So I showed them the nails and expected they would fix what they did wrong, and it would all be repaired, for free, of course. But NO, they said I need to pay extra 17$ for them to fix their mistakes! Wow, that was unexpected. I'm standing there on my 9th month of pregnancy with tears in my eyes, telling how disappointed I am, that I am not going to pay for his mistakes. I told them, that I don't have to pay extra, because yesterday they overcharged me (just wait for this part). I asked them for a refund - NO NO NO - not at all, they will not do a refund. I was almost crying staying there and explaining them again again that they have to fix their job that was not done right, and the girl was just explaining to me that they are not doing refund or free correction because they worked "so hard". Really? I also worked very hard for my money too! They were sooooo rude, they don't care about service, or client, or that you are soooo sad about situation. Thay just want to keep $60 that I paid the day earlier. They were also not sorry at all! Now, here's where they lied in my face. I came back that day and was really surprised, to find out that Jeremy charged me $55 instead of $45 that the service he did actually was worth. So I paid 55$ instead of 45$, and Jeremy just took extra money from me. Their staff writes down how much money they get from you, and they can write what ever number they want. So he wrote $45 instead of what he actually charged me. It was my first time here, so I did not know the prices and just trusted whatever he told me. However, when I came back the next day to get the nails fixed, the administrator told me that what he did costs $45 and that they have $45 written down in their journal. I asked Jeremy and administrator why did he charge me more then? And they denied that Jeremy took more money (so they made ME the one who was lying), and when you try to confront them and get an explanation they just talk in their language to each other, so you won't understand the whole deal...It was my first and LAST time there. I left crying, not because I wasted $60 and have to pay someone else to redo their bad job, but because I was amazed with the RUDENESS and TERRIBLE client service. They don't care about the client at all, they only care about what they can GET from the client. I've not experienced such a bad salon nails and customer service in years. read more
