3 Day 50th Anniversary Party ====================== We held a 3 day 50th wedding anniversary party in July 2017; Friday evening BBQ (at our home), Saturday "the main party" at Chautauqua Hall in Pacific Grove, Sunday brunch (at our home). Our only regret is that we did not use Kathy to take care of the Friday evening BBQ. Kathy and her team took care of everything. After our site visit, she knew what to do. Signage, decorations, tables, linen, silverware, glassware ... and of course the food and drinks. Oh ... And she stayed within our budget. The Main Party at Chautauqua Hall in Pacific Grove - Well planned and executed ============================================================ Really well planned. My husband and I entered the garden outside of Chautauqua Hall 10 minutes late to a round of applause. You could hear the live Mariachi band playing (Joel Avila 831-915-7982), the guests were enjoying the abundance of appetizers and margaritas. After meeting, greeting, snacking, sipping and "photo boothing" for about an hour we entered the hall. All of the tables were set and the salads were plated with delicious Salinas produce ... ready for a celebratory toast then dining and dancing (DJ - DNA Entertainment). We had five food stations at different locations in the hall; protein (beef & chicken), starch (potatoes & quinoa), vegetables (artichokes & squashes), dessert (cookies, cakes, etc.) and drinks (iced tea, lemonade, wine, champagne, water & coffee). This was a great layout. There were about 120 people at the party and no line was very long. The guests went to their favorite station first (meat, veggies, starch, dessert or drinks!). This setup saved us time and money. We didn't have to hire extra wait staff to serve everyone; we didn't have to manage lots of lists of who wants what (they could have all!); and we didn't have to keep track of food restrictions. To tell the truth, I couldn't personally comment on the food. I danced and partied the entire evening. I ate 1 bite of beef, 2 forks of quinoa and drank LOTS of champagne. But ... all of the food was eaten and there was plenty. At the Sunday brunch, all of the guests praised the delicious food and efficient staff. I couldn't even remember seeing Kathy and her staff, but there was NEVER a hiccup. Magically the food stations were filled, glassses topped, desserts savored, tables cleared and the hall was cleaned per our contract with Pacific Grove. Sunday Brunch (at my home) - Kathy to the rescue ====================================== About a week before the main event, I realized I was in over my head and needed help with the Sunday brunch. I had ordered the quiche and menudo but couldn't figure out how to find the time and energy to pick it up and serve it after partying Saturday evening. Kathy to the rescue. She and a team of 2 or 3 staff did everything. She picked up the quiches and coffee, bought and cut up fruit, set up orange and grapefruit juices and heated the menudo. We had about 75 people for brunch. Kathy and her staff demonstrated the same expertise, professionalism and care they showed the night before. Bowls were filled with menudo, plates topped with quiche and lots of coffee. She arrived about 7:45am and worked nonstop until about 1pm. My kitchen was left cleaner than when she arrived. Will I use Fabulous Kathy again? Yes!!! Next summer we will host a tequila tasting and Mexican culinary experience. I will absolutely hire Fabulous Kathy for this event. FYI: Lengthy review but SOOO worth the read! Kathy was an absolute Godsend to my husband & I when we were planning our wedding. In order to show just how incredible Kathy is, I want to share the incident that happened before I found her. I had previously contacted & met with a different event company which sounded fantastic at first but was a HUGE disappointment. After the initial, seemingly perfect meeting with said company, I did not receive a follow-up call like they had promised. When I contacted them, they gave excuses but promised to call me back again. I then waited a week, called them once more, & the same thing happened. So I stopped trying to contact them & guess what? They NEVER contacted me. I had never seen such unprofessionalism before & needless to say, I was very frustrated. I found Kathy shortly after & she was the exact opposite of the former company I dealt with. I could tell from just the first time we talked that she was exactly what I had been looking for. She clearly knew her stuff, was creative & capable, professional, & most importantly for me...someone who would follow through. Kathy was always on top of it, always ahead of schedule, always delivered on her promises. She made me feel at peace, & I felt valued as her client. She spent ample time meeting with me, making sure every base was covered. And even though I hired her mainly just for flowers/ceremony decorations, she gave me tons of advice in several other categories (because she knows/has done it all!), just to make sure I was prepared. On the day of the wedding, she & her team arrived promptly. They then proceeded to make the place look spectacular!!! Although Kathy & I had discussed & agreed on several things, I also let her have creative license because I trusted her abilities. And let me tell you, she did NOT disappoint. She went OVER & ABOVE on everything. She added so many extra, special touches which took our wedding from great to fantastic. Guests were commenting on what a fabulous job she did. My husband & I agreed that she was our most impressive vendor. She even gave us a surprise gift! Kathy is amazing...& I don't use that word lightly. If you choose her to coordinate ANY aspect of your wedding/event, rest assured that she will do the job & do it well. Just look at her reviews...I think she has 5 stars from every review. My older sister and brother in law recommended Kathy to us to help us with day of coordination. Kathy had helped my brother in law orchestrate one of the most romantic proposals ever, so I was confident we would be in good hands. We hired her to be our coordinator for our July wedding in Monterey (ceremony at Lover's Point, reception at Club del Monte). Kathy is a person who is somehow extremely organized but calming at the same time. Amidst all the chaos that is a wedding, she calmly cleans up disasters, fixes anything someone else did wrong, and is so funny and lovely that she puts everyone at ease. Kathy went above and beyond on so many occasions. First of all she knows everyone and was able to recommend top notch vendors in our budget that delivered 5 star results. She is also a calm problem solver. When our ceremony venue double booked us and we only found out about it my chance during the rehearsal, Kathy had the whole issue resolved in 5 minutes with no drama and no stress. She helped make sure we tied up all the loose ends so we were stress free on our wedding day. She even made our boutonnieres (at a cost far lower than florist shop rate), Our ceremony went off without a hitch thanks to Kathy and how well she prepared us. During our reception, she rescued our DJ when he didn't come prepared with our requested song list. When our reception venue opened a cash bar against our strong wishes, Kathy not only had it struck in 2 minutes, she negotiated a heavy discount on our bar fees. We also left some terribly written instructions and incomprehensible maps for her team on how we wanted the reception set up. They nailed it and made it look more stunning and stylish that I had ever imagined. I think the best example I can give to about Kathy (her friend's call her KK) is that she presented us a framed picture from our wedding ceremony (that she had taken an hour before, at the reception dinner. How she pulled these miracles off, I will never know, but it just goes to show that KK is the lady to get things done, even when they seem impossible. You won't find a lovelier lady or more talented coordinator than Kathy Kulper. Do yourself a favor and hire her to coordinate your wedding so you can enjoy your big day instead of stressing about it. I feel so fortunate to have found Kathy. I found her online when searching for a wedding coordinator. I was having a hard time finding someone who i really connected with and felt that I could trust. When you decide on a vendor for your wedding you really are inviting them into the event, and one call with Kathy I knew that I liked her and when we met in person even before we hired her I knew that I would be in good hands. Kathy is a great person and an amazing wedding planner. I couldn't have asked for more during my wedding this past weekend. Kathy was helpful from start to finish from suggesting vendors, meeting the vendors with me and helping me through tough decisions because a lot of times I had no clue what to expect. She even reviewed each and every one of my contracts! Kathy was a life saver when it came down to the last two weeks when my fiance and I would want to make some last minute changes. For someone who has no artistic skills I was so happy to find out that Kathy was willing to make personalized signs for our guest book as well as menu cards for our rehearsal dinner. She was always ready and willing to help even up to the last minute before the wedding! On the day of Kathy came with a team of 2, and she or someone on her team would respond to me if I called or texted while I was getting ready. She really made my day feel flawless and I had little to no stress knowing Kathy was there. When the harpist was late, Kathy quickly got the DJ on it. She is full of experience and great advice. I have only great things to say and I 100% recommend Kathy if you are planning a wedding. It was very sweet that she had a photo printed on the day of for our sweetheart table from our first look! The day of coordinator we had previously booked fell through a month before our wedding. Needless to say, we were stressed!!! That all melted away when I reached out to Kathy and she jumped in immediately, helping us prepare for our day with kindness, the most meticulous attention to detail, and prompt communication. On our wedding day, everything was set up more beautifully than I could have imagined. We ran into a couple hiccups out of Kathy's control-- our guest shuttles and dinner caterer were running late. Kathy had already thought of plan B, C, and D and kept us informed without ever making us feel stressed. At the end of the day, everything turned out to be perfect in our eyes because of Kathy and her team making it that way. Kathy also checked in with us regularly throughout the day to keep us on schedule, etc. without ever interfering with our time spent with guests. She brought the most kind, helpful team with her to ensure all ran smoothly. Multiple guests approached us during and after our wedding to tell us our coordinator was amazing. That speaks volumes! I can't praise Kathy enough for not only saving our wedding day, but going above and beyond in making it amazing. And when I say above and beyond I mean it! Since this was a destination wedding for us, Kathy even offered to donate our wedding cake leftovers to a local shelter. Kathy "KK" has been our family party planner for over 20 years. She has helped with birthday parties, work events and the most incredible wedding I could have ever dreamed of. Kathy has contacts all over the peninsula so there's never such thing as "I don't know how/where to do that." She knows all the tricks of the trade to make things affordable without looking cheap. Kathy knows how to handle "Bridezilla" and worse with calmness and understanding. (Not that I was Bridezilla, of course :)). On top of her expert planning skills, Kathy's catering is divine. Sometimes, we ask Kathy to take cookies to friends in town if they are sick, having a birthday or just to celebrate being alive. My son & daughter-in-law just celebrated their first wedding anniversary. To mark the occasion, I viewed their wedding video which brought both tears to my eyes and an appreciation for truly being able to enjoy the beautiful celebration - and all thanks to Kathy's services. Kathy was amazing. AMAZING. Booking her was really the best wedding-planning decision we made. She was like a super down-to-earth fairy godmother. She was so fun and easy to work with and honestly, there was not one detail out of place the day of the wedding. She met with us twice before our wedding and was always quick to respond to phone calls/email. She helped us field the city permits and red tape. During our rehearsal, we realized our speaker system wasn't loud enough. She made a phone call and had another sound system reserved within 5 minutes. We didn't even have time to worry! On the day of the wedding she handled all the rentals, delivered and set up everything, groomed the beach spot we'd picked out, and made sure we knew what to do during the ceremony (but in a way that was really unobtrusive, supportive, and calming). My husband and I got married over the summer and I don't know what I would've done without Kathy! She was present for the whole 9 yards, from the day of the proposal to the day we tied the knot. Just finished my daughter's wedding to a LT in the Navy and wow was it terrific! KK is organized, thorough, professional, funny and anticipatory of needs we didn't even know we had! The wedding was at San Carlos Cathedral and reception at the Naval Postgraduate School where the groom had just graduated from the day before. The church had their own wedding coordinator but KK worked seamlessly with her taking care of our priorities. If we had glitches, we never knew of them, because she took care of everything & then some. Her rate is so reasonable that my husband was even pleased lol. KK took the stress out of what can be so wedding stressful. My favorite part is that she saved us from the details we didn't even know about that could have thrown the day into a downer. My son's wedding was fabulous. It was difficult to pull of a wonderful, dream 2020 wedding. Kathy did it. I was so glad she was available to officiate at the wedding of my son. It was important to me that the officiant was licensed. Kathy new all about the paperwork needed to have an official wedding. She met with my son and his fiancee making sure she was able to provide the wedding ceremony they wanted. Kathy listened intently to what the bride- to- be wanted in the ceremony. She helped me with ideas on how to set up the outside venue. During planning, since Kathy has an extensive background in catering, she was helpful with simple delicious food ideas. Well, KK (Kathy) was so gracious in offering her services when my wife and I invited her to our wedding, as a guest! LOL! She was always available to give advice and guidance during the planning process and was absolutely critical to the day of the wedding. Even though Kathy was only doing the catering for our wedding she came up with some great "wedding planner" questions that really helped us cover all bases and keep things running smoothly. Kathy and her awesome helper put on a Baby Shower for our first Grandchild that blew everybody away. The food was delicious and plentiful. The special touches in decorating both the food and the venue were first rate. From the first minute I contacted her, she was full of ideas and suggestions to make the event special.
