Very good location but they never have the Kona bronzer even though I have asked repeatedly for them to please order it. I'm always disappointed when I go for a spray tan and there is no suitable bronzer for my skin type. read more

Not sure what's happened at this location in the past, but I've been coming here for most of 2019 and haven't had any issues. This place is always super clean and tidy. I've only ever seen one person working here (Shalissa) and she's always extremely friendly and helpful. She remembers my name and greets me warmly every time I come in. The rooms and beds are always clean, the bulbs are changed regularly and Shalissa always makes sure to monitor and suggest the best tanning time for me. Not all that happy with a decision to fire the manager of this store. By text no less. I drove from edmonton to go to this store because it was clean and well looked after. I've been to some pretty bad Fabutan studios and the drive was worth it. The service that I got from Shalissa was wonderful and I want good things for her. She knew when I called. Knew my voice. I try to compare her store to others I've been in. Not even close. The owner should be ashamed and I won't drive out to use her store, buy her lotions or buy my minutes. 12 years a dedicated and loyal customer and its over. You are hard pressed to find a replacement. I doubt you will find anyone with that personality and effort. Shalissa was a true asset and it's ironic that only a week ago, I asked her why she doesn't try to get in to the ownership. This store is all about you. Now she's gone. So am I.i need to correct myself. She was not fired. She left because she was no longer respected at her job. Bosses have ways to get you out. I'm still out. read more

I haven't been in the tanning game for years thanks to numerous surgeries, but I recently came back from vacation and decided I wanted to keep up the tan I built. I went into Fabutan Spruce Grove and man alive were the girls ever friendly! They set me up with a scan tag and lanyard, and were more than helpful in getting me hooked up with some eyewear. Fabutan is the Groves go-to tanning salon. It's a franchises and follows the pricing and promotions that all Fabutan's in Canada do. I have been going here on and off for 10 years, though have no intension of continuing. Of its good qualities I can say it is clean and well stocked. I have never felt it was not sanitary or untidy and they always have the latest lotions for sale. Of its poor qualities this list is a tad longer. A majority of the staff (not all mind,) are rather rude. Typically its not a friendly experience. They do ask the seemingly required "How was your tan?" when you are putting on your shoes, but its so far from sincere they might as well be saying, "My manager told me to say this. But really I resent you, because now I have to wipe your back sweat off the bed." Again just the impression I am getting. Another frustration is their appointment system. You must book an appointment as it is a rather busy place, but typically you'll be waiting at least 10 minutes still. Granted going at irregular hours can probably help this. I just get very annoyed waiting when I have an appointment and this happens frequently. I also have noticed some people (oddly only men I've seen,) don't have to wait. Often I will be waiting for my turn (past my appointments start time,) and a guy will just walk in and be given a room immediately. Who knows why, maybe they are friends of the staff? Also with their booking system, a couple time now they have booked me in at the wrong time. Once I had a Mystic Tan booked and the wrong time was noted. As I was "late" for the spay tan I had to wait longer and didn't get home for an hour. I even spoke to the manager via the phone to voice my displeasure, all she did was offer 50% off my next Mystic tan... a promo they offer anyway. ***Note the girl working that night, who actually put me in the booth was very helpful and an awesome employee. The beds are also a disappointment. They are your classic low intensity capsules. No stand up, no wider beds and no higher intensity. The reasoning behind my 2 star rating is that Spruce Grove has much better Tanning Salons to offer. In my opinion Fabutan shouldn't be the go-to tanning salon that it is. If others were to try Body Concepts or one across from Safeway (the name escapes me.) I think they would know quality Tanning. read more

The woman at the front, an older blonde woman, is always so rude. She rarely says hello, if she's busy, she doesn't even acknowledge that you walked in, and when you come out she NEVER asks how your tan was. She also never says bye unless you say it first. She makes the experience awful. I have lived in Edmonton and St.Albert and tanned at many many locations, always Fabutan, this is by far THE WORST location to go. It's disappointing because it's the only Fabutan in Spruce Grove. I will likely switch companies once my minutes run out. Suggestion: If she hates her job so much, she should work elsewhere. Also, the floors are always dirty in the rooms, I think they are swept maybe once every few days. I step on towels because I find the floors so gross, hair and dirt. Also most of the beds "tops doors" do not stay up on their own, their hatch-lifts/hinges are old and likely never have been replaced. The tanning bed top will often fling open if you lightly hit it when you are turning over, and they close almost to your nose. I have never been in beds like that ever before and I have been tanning for 15 years. They are outdated and worn. If I was rating my experience with the older blonde woman, it would be a "0", but since the other girls working seem ok, I will give this location a "2". This entire location needs to have further customer service training to be up to par, and they need to get their equipment serviced. read more

My friend and I came into this Fabutan location at 1:45 PM on July 29, 2018 and each purchased a mystic spray tan. We were told by the employee working that, due to a power outage earlier in the day, she was having issues with the equipment. She nonetheless processed our payments and took my friend back with her first. My friend undressed and stood in the back waiting for approximately 10 minutes. The employee kept stating the machine wouldn't start and dipping into the back to check. She eventually called to my friend through the door who dressed and came back out. The employee helped several guests waiting and then went back to trying to get the mystic tan machine operating. Eventually, we told her we were tired of waiting and had late afternoon plans so we could not wait anymore. She suggested we dip-out for food and she would text us if she could get the machine running. We did so. At around 3:10 the employee texted my friend and told her that she could not get the machine to work. We came back and asked for a refund. She refused stating the receipt says "All purchases non-refundable sorry". We stated how unacceptable that is. I have never heard of a business charging a client for a service, refusing to provide the service, and then refusing to refund the client. The employee became upset and raised her voice at us repeating over and over again that it wasn't her fault there was a black-out. We acknowledged that yes, it wasn't her fault but she still needs to call the owner and arrange a refund. She gave serious attitude about doing so stating it was the owner's day-off and he probably wouldn't answer. However, she called anyway and once again disappeared to the back where she talked to the owner's wife and fiddled with the spray tan machine some more. Eventually, she came back and reiterated that she was unable to issue a refund. I told her to just put the spray tans on our account and I would contact the owner myself. She supposedly wrote the owner's number on a piece of paper and gave it to me. However, when I got home and called the number I was informed that the number was out-of-service. I have decided to escalate this situation and have contacted Fabutan's Head Office and I will file a consumer complaint with Service Alberta. This is an absolutely atrocious way to treat clients of nearly a decade (or any clients, truth be told). read more

I visited today and the lady at the front was rude. She spoke to me as if I was an inconvenience to her. I gave 2 stars because she did get one thing right - she told me to go to the Stony Plain location, where I was helped quickly and kindly. I will go there from now on. read more
