I have been a patient at Facey for years and before that had a physician who had a very busy calendar; it was difficult to get an appointment with her so Facey was my other insurance coverage option. This review is solely based on my experience with my Facey physician and the staff. I am happy to say that my primary care provider, Dr. Shirvanian listens and for me, that's a very important thing and something I look for when I choose a physician. She sits and spends time with me during my appointment. She asks questions, answers my questions, and offers thoughtful and helpful advice - she genuinely cares. Her nurse, is just as caring and pleasant. Other thoughts about my experience: - Provide a list of your meds if you're a new patient. - Front office reception and in-house lab are staffed with friendly, ready-to-help professionals. (They really ARE nice.) - Parking is NOT validated and is expensive; look for street parking if you have time to spare. - Online access to your records (not sure if it's ALL records) through MyChart, so you'll see your lab results, medications, have the capability to message your physician, etc. **A quick note about messaging through MyChart. There is now a longer response time, of which I, personally, was not informed. I'm still trying to find out what happened. Used to be a great practice. Management is ruining it to make extra money. They fired much of the staff and replaced them with poorly trained call center personnel. They will give you bad medical advice, which is illegal. But don't worry, you won't be able to reach them because it will take hours for the phone to go through. They also started running commercials for medical scams in the waiting room on large televisions. Find somewhere else. read more

I'm here in the late morning at 1100 am and it's busier than I thought it would be. I'm doing blood work and prefer to be here early in the morning but circumstances prevented me from getting here. The receptionist check in was super fast and friendly. I was really impressed. I was asked the standard questions to verify identity and recent illnesses. Now to wait for my turn at the flabotomist. I had great luck finding a parking spot across the street too! Oh my, the waiting area is quite noisy with a rambunctious little child, lol. It's really funny but a bit annoying. It was a little while before Mr Scott from the lab came out and called my name. He was funny and did an excellent job of drawing a couple vials of blood for my lab tests. Before prescribing any medications, he takes the time to thoroughly review your medical history, orders necessary blood work and tests, and even considers results from tests done years ago. Changed my insurance from PPO to HMO and was referred to by many to have Dr. Mane Aleksanyan as my primary care. Today was my first visit, and had a great experience. Dr. Aleksanyan had good bed side manner, made me feel comfortable with asking all the questions I had. I will warn you if you go to this location there is a high probability you will pay more, and your insurance will be billed excessively. I was a new patient with a single visit it ended up costing me 336$ out of pocket even with full insurance. It's such a shame for me to have to write this about my doctor's office because I really liked my doctor. However, the office staff is something else entirely. The last time I was in was nearly a year ago and I took my then emotional support dog in with me and one of the women at the front desk, along with the office manager, made a huge stink in front of other patients about my dog and the service she provides to me. The office manager made it clear to me that "...[they] don't do emotional support dogs." So, I had my dog trained and certified as a Service Dog and when I returned to my doctor's office with my dog, the male phlebotomist had an unnecessary over reaction and I was once again scolded by the office manager. The most recent time, no one asked me anything about my dog and whether she was a service dog or not. They did not think to make a reasonable accommodation for us so that my appointment would be a pleasant one for all involved. Instead, I felt targeted from the moment I walked in. The tension was thick and I could tell that I was not welcome with my dog. The staff at the Burbank office have zero training on how to deal with a patient with a service dog. They only care about harassing people and flexing what little power they have to intimidate and humiliate patients. I hate this office. read more

This is and always has been a common concern I have with larger healthcare organizations, where the focus on efficiency and protocols can sometimes make patients feel like they're not being heard or treated as individuals. In fact, one feels as if their health is not a priority AT ALL or individualized or tailored to the needs of a patient. It ALWAYS FEELS like, "How can Facey MAKE MORE MONEY OFF OF YOU AND YOUR INSURANCE?" Here are my issues with Facey Medical Group: Lack of Personalization: One feels like they're just another number in a system, with doctors and staff not taking the time to listen to unique concerns or to get to know me personally. Seriously there is zero connection or effort made to know ANYTHING about one's life. It's a COLD UNFEELING STERILE FACTORY. AND it begs the question, are they even competent? Limited Availability: With large medical groups, it can sometimes be challenging to get timely appointments or to see the same doctor consistently, leading to a lack of continuity in care. Waiting 4 weeks to see a doctor is pointless when you have a flu. Short Appointment Times: Some patients feel rushed during their visits, with doctors spending minimal time with them, leading to a feeling that their concerns are not being fully addressed. You are also warned against asking about too many other medical concerns in one visit as it will be tallied up and all inquiries; even a random question about a mole will be added to your invoice. If you came in for a physical, YOU MUST ONLY TALK PHYSICAL EXAM TALK. (ridiculous) Over-Reliance on Technology: While technology can improve efficiency, too much reliance on electronic systems can make interactions feel cold and impersonal, with less face-to-face communication. Sure, I use the portals where my test results show up but the notes from the Doctors are so vague I literally had ChatGPT interpret my tests for me. Just to get some peace of mind. Communication Issues: There's difficulty getting clear and direct answers, and it's very challenging to communicate with your doctors outside of scheduled appointments. Administrative Burdens: PHONE WAIT TIMES ARE MINIMUM 15 Minutes + Navigating through the bureaucracy of large medical groups--such as dealing with referrals, insurance, and billing--can be frustrating and time-consuming. And Seriously DO NOT LOOK FOR ANYONE TO HELP YOU AT FACEY Regarding is this referral compatible with your insurance network etc. I pray I have nothing serious these last months of the year before i enroll for another practice, as this is not the group i would want to help me deal with life-or-death matters and choices. I used to go to Lakeside Medical and did like my doctor but I decided to change to Facey because they have a lab on site and better equipment. I have an HMO and I could get a PPO but the doctor I have now is decent so I'm ok for now but it could be better. I feel like there is a lack of communication between the pharmacy and some of the departments so you get phone calls that are not necessary and there is a lack of personal communication. I do like the WebMD and feel that is super useful. Today, I went for a lab (walk-in) and I waited longer than normal. An older gentlemen (Spanish speaking) arrived well after me and yet got a lab done first by the same technician. I wasn't too happy. I feel like they give preferential treatment for Spanish speaking people and since I'm not that - I had to wait. Welcome to California! Anyway, I do not think that is right. Not cool! The lab was rough (depends on who you get) and I experienced 7 holes with the tech trying to find a vein so I ended up with an arm that looked like a drug user- Also I give always my middle name that I want to be called but they never remember and always call me by my first name. The lack of PERSONAL service. It's a turn-off along with the preferential treatment!! So there are some areas that they definitely could improve on. read more

Recently I joined Facey Medical Group and had a first visit today with my doctors assistant. I was so impressed with the entire visit that I felt the need to write a review! Taline Krikorian was the assistant I saw today. Even beforehand, when I "registered" at the front desk, the associates were very pleasant and even smiled! Priscilla, the medical assistant was sweet, happy, and professional as well. Taline Krikorian took a lot of time to discuss EVERYTHING about my medical history and listening very authentically to my issues. I was blown away my her patience and thoroughness. She took care of my requests for referrals, checked my vitals and I left, very pleased. Then, when I got home, she called to ask a couple more questions, before sending my information on to the Doctor. This experience was diametrically different than the last medical group I was with. This is for some of the office staff, specifically to some of the young ladies who work here. While I wasn't personally affected by this to what was the worst that I heard, and there are others who are truly professional and wonderful individuals, I was disturbed when I heard office staff complaining about patients. That is the reason for this review, otherwise I would just ignore. However, some of the office staff do not have any patience at all, and think even calling to request an appointment or something that you are literally told to do, is an issue. They give attitude. I don't know if it's because they are stressed about their job, or that they don't like it, but no need to take it out on patients who need care. Also, urgent things were left unanswered for weeks on my end that the staff was responsible for. We had a baby right at the beginning of Covid - so our time at this doctors office has been pretty consistent. I did get a chance to participate in the meet and greet with Dr. Kao while I was still pregnant back in February 2020. With Motion Picture Insurance, there is no pediatrician - - so we wanted to find something in Burbank, as we feel like everything wonderful comes out of that place. Including our daughter! After a wonderful impression at the meet and greet, however, I we were a bit surprised when the doctor we signed up with couldn't make it to the hospital at the birth of our child. Instead, a curt Caucasian male graced our presence as I was painfully struggling to breast feed my first time--in which he responded, "it should only be 5 minutes with each on. That's how it is with my wife." While in the end we loved that doctor too, this was quite a jarring transition and first impression we laughed off. Once we got comfortable with Dr Kishniff, he was no longer available. I have to say this dynamic as first parents was not fun for us. We understand during the pandemic things are a little more messy. So when questions were answered more curtly than my friends' pediatricians or they forgot to do certain things, we let it go. When in June we'd been billed multiple times inaccurately because the billers were not properly integrating the referral code given to them by Industry Health Network, we were already invested in our frustration. A manager helped us and we thought we got through it. Come December, here we are with the same bills because they just couldn't figure out the referral code. While people are literally getting paid to resolve this, we had to take time out of our days that are invaluable with our precious new child to spend hours on a job that no one is paying us for. While we finally resolved this in December, I'd already let our daughter's 9 month appointment go because I didn't think it would be resolved, but my husband called and set them straight when the manager from June did not. Their next appt was in February. Needless to say, there are plenty of pediatricians who could do a much better job that are in-network. While we wanted to stay in Burbank, we now know not EVERYTHING good comes out of there. read more

First thing: don't park in the garage. Find street parking. It's free AND it's closer. There is a special place in hell for parking garage owners that charge every 15 minutes. There are also about a million spaces for doctors, which are never filled but you (the person who is ill) have to park upstairs. I pulled in and when the attendant told me I had to go upstairs, I immediately pulled out and parked on the street. Anyway, this was my first time as a patient at the practice. I recently changed insurance and my 1 year old sees Dr. Kao and everything is cool there. My new primary at another practice just stopped answering (your guess is as good as mine) and I needed some help with some gut issues. I miscalculated how long it would take me to get there and was 15 minutes late. I know things are tight and I understood that it might have to be rescheduled. That didn't end up happening even after the nurse mentioned it. A nurse called me in, took my vitals right away and Dr. Wasson came in, sat down next to me and asked me questions from my medical history to where I was from. He had another patient but he assured me it was okay to take my time to explain. He really cares. He has a warm energy. Very kind and observant. Down to earth. I wanted to cry because I was so grateful he took the time to chat with me, but I also didn't cry because I felt pretty grounded in his presence. It's a pointless stop ... an appointment is made for a specific issue. The wait is never too long which is appreciated and emergency can get in w/in a few days. Receptionists are helpful. The appointment happens, doctors come in without much concern or interest and provides a rudimentary diagnosis before referring you to a specialist. Once the referral is in hand and you call the specialist ,they will not treat you with any urgency whatsoever and a visit for something worrisome can take up to 6 weeks. Facey does not follow up once you leave, ultimately they do not care, they are the epitome of a broken healthcare system .I end up p[aying out of pocket every time for a proper doctor to see me. This last time it was pretty bad and the doctor I had to pay out of pocket to see told me I was lucky that I came in when I did. For basic GP this place is fine but for real medical issues that come up its a run around and it is aggravating and truly frightening that if you are ill doctors just do not care. read more

I was recently in the hospital and when I was discharged I wrote my doctor office to get a follow up appointment, no one reached out to me. The doctor I saw ordered an MRI to not only the wrong service location (after giving me a piece of paper directing me to the correct service location) BUT ORDERED IT FOR THE WRONG BODY PART. I caught the mistake myself...only after a full week of going back and forth to get things changed. Because of their error I wasn't able to get an MRI for another 2 weeks (couldn't walk) and then had to find a new doctor because, well, obviously I don't trust Dr. Roy Kim. Flash forward and they are STILL TRYING TO BILL me for the office visit? When his office screwed up so bad that I couldn't get any resolution for over a month? AND the best part?? THE BUSINESS OFFICE DELETED ALL FILES RELATED TO THE INCORRECT CODING to make it seem like it was all kosher. DESPITE the front office having records of it all. Dr. Lisa Kao and the entire pediatric practice, front desk and MA/nurse staff is simply FANTASTIC. Dr. Kao is a rare gem. I haven't met too many physicians that go to the length or into the detail that she does. I have exchanged many phone calls and messages on MyChart with her + staff and they made me feel supported during some tough times with our kiddos. During COVID they took precautions every single time my kids came in with a fever which made me feel safe entering their offices during an uncertain time. If I could ask for one thing it would be to have open office hours during the first hour of the day (8-9am) so parents could bring in kids that fall sick over night or late the evening before. This would probably be tough to manage on their end, but if anyone could do it, it would be Facey Burbank. read more

Three great Pediatricians to choose from here. Fantastic, intelligent and kind care! My daughter started with Dr. Kishineff when she was 3yrs old. Most of the parents I know in the BUSD seriously LOVE Dr. Kishineff. He came highly recommended when we first moved to the area. As my daughter got older (and more modest at 12-14 yrs) I started requesting female doctors at the same facility. Now we see Dr. Lubin and Dr. K. Both are amazing female doctors who put my shy, young daughter at ease and provided the best care when we needed it most. I highly recommend these doctors and can also verify the facility has all required COVID precautions in place. The nurses are always on point and I've never had a long wait. Facey Medical Group in Burbank, provides excellent customer service to their patients. From the moment you enter their facility you are greeted by their friendly Registration Representatives. The waiting room is clean and the wait time to see a physician is very reasonable. Although there is a Facey location close to home in Mission Hills, I choose to drive down to their Burbank location, which is about 12 miles away, mainly because of my kids' Pediatrician, Dr. Lisa Kao! Dr. Kao and her staff are very professional and always provides the best care for my children! I appreciate and respect Dr. Kao's candor and professionalism, always ensuring that she is knowledgeable about her patient's medical history. In addition, Dr. Kao makes an effort to not only discuss any necessary procedures and/or concerns she may have with me, as the parent, but also discusses it with her patients, despite their age. Dr. Roy Kim spent very little time with me, and literally offered the advice of "not squatting past 90 degrees and taking ibuprofen." He said everything looked normal and didn't offer any real solution to my concerns. He also didn't offer to do x-rays,and he made me feel as though I was being a hypochondriac. I'm not sure if the Doctors are aware they're losing patients due to the poor staffing and calendar availability. I've never been to a doctor where it's very hard to get a same or next day appointment; the solution the offered was for me to go to urgent care. I called about a current painful medical problem and they offered me an appointment about a month out!! The same thing has happened for a sore throat, the could see me in a few weeks...yeah let's let a sore throat go untreated for weeks on end! When they do call you back to squeeze you in, it's only one time and one time only, which I missed because i had been stuck at work. Walk in hours in the morning or evening would be very beneficial - not sure if adding doctors will help if your system is to just book, book, and book with no avail for patients who are sick and need to see someone ASAP. read more

This review is for Dr.Leah Heap. When I had a women exam last year with Dr.Heap, I felt like her attitude got in the way. My first impression of her was negative, as she had very little bedside manner, and would talk over me at any moment she could get. I did not feel like I was well taken care of. In fact, I felt very awkward and uncomfortable and neglected when she hastily performed her visual exam, with absolutely no regard for my privacy and dignity. As you can imagine, it is very awkward to be practically nude in front of a stranger, even if they are a Doctor. As far as her bedside manner, and how I was treated by Dr. Heap, I would give her a 0-star. The 5-star however, is for Dr.Dao. He is the most gentle, compassionate and understanding Doctor you could ask for. He is quick in getting back to my weekly fan letters (emails), which makes me, and I am sure many of his other patients wanting to come back into his office for all of our ailments. Not once did I ever feel like I was rushed when I was in his office for an appointment, as he took the time to explain everything that was going on, even for someone like me who is in the medical field as well (RN-student). Plus, when he is charting on his computer, he actually pulls it up in front of you, and writes in the chart as you describe to him the reason for your visit. I hope that when I graduate, my hospital will have health insurance that has Facey Medical Group as my HCP, because this Dr. is a true embodiment of what being a professional in the caring field is like. read more

She did so great listening to me and assuming me that she will figure out who was the person on her team that does not know how to take care of patients. The two starts are for the amazing nurses and Dr. Lubin they are great. The zero starts are for the pathetic referral department. My daughter was given a referral 2 weeks ago and it has yet to be approved or denied. I've been calling all day and it seems as if they are dodging my calls, today I was on hold for an hour then the hung up. I am shaking at how upset I am. God forbid something is wrong. The doctors and nurses that work in the office are amazing. But when I went in today for my sons appointment the staff refused to let me in because I brought my daughter even though the allowed a husband and wife to go in with there baby right before me. I understand things are difficult during covid but when you're not supposed to be around people from outside households how are you supposed to get a babysitter. Even tho I explained to the supervisor that the only way I could come was with both children they refused to let my 6 month come in for his appointment unless they were both to have an appointment. After I left I called multiple pediatrician and asked if it was ok to bring both of my kids when one had an appointment and they said of course it was fine. So unfortunately we have to take our kids to another pediatrician that is more understanding. read more
