I took a chance and trusted the yelp community with finding Jane and they did not let me down! I didn't have to wait 4 months for an appointment as I would have with the instagram model club. Instead I chose a real industry expert that knew what would look fabulous even if I didn't. As a newbie to any permanent makeup and a tattoo, microblading virgin, I was understandably nervous . There was timely communication from first contact to appointment to confirmation. I knew exactly what to expect with masking and sanitation protocols for our safety throughout. Jane calmed my anxiety by explaining the entire process and each step as she artfully, safely, patiently and with the expertise of a professional in her craft since 1994, executed gorgeous, natural looking brows for me. She started like a Dr with medical history paperwork, taking my whole of humanity into consideration prior to getting into the meat and potatoes of the procedure which I appreciated! Jane assessed my face/canvas and drew what she believed would be beautiful for my structure and let me see for agreement. We proceeded to the microblading process and I feel it couldn't have gone better with knowing which parts would be painful vs rest breaks and the tlc I felt from Jane considering all my allergies and well being. I'm thrilled with the result and excited to see how the artfully crafted brows will look after healed. I had overplucked them in the past and they were uneven and thinned out. Penciling them in hasn't always produced an even well manicured effect. Embarrassing at times. Those worries are now over. I'd definitely recommend Jane as a real trained professional in this industry over a fad instagram star. She has an abundance of personality and whimsical charm. I waited a few months before writing a review because I wanted to really know what I thought. I never met Jane before and I think she is lovely. Here are my reasons for why I would recommend her work to my mother, my friends, and strangers. 1: Time saving. I have what my husband calls the trifecta of trouble. The baby, the toddler, and the tween. All boys. All the time. I don't have time to shower, nonetheless put on makeup. 2: Cost. I spend roughly $80/year on eyebrow pencils. That includes running out to Walgreens and maybe finding one that might work because I didn't have time (see above) or the funds to order the expensive one that I know works. 3: Artistic talent is just that, talent. No matter how many YouTube videos I watched, diagrams I downloaded, or information I gleaned from my many friends who are Aestheticians or MUA's, I don't have the talent. I swear I inherited an eyebrow from each parent, and then they slowly disappeared with each kid. Trying to get them remotely close to each other and symmetric to my face was simply impossible, no matter how hard I tried. 4: Self Esteem. I wake up with better brows than Sleeping Beauty. When I was in Massage school many years ago I remember a teacher explaining the importance of facial anatomy and saying, "If you ever want to look 10 years younger, get a brow wax." Brows are that important. 5: Staying Power. Sweat, pool, drool, moving hair off my face, lick attacks... worries of the past. Jane is an artist. Let your face be her canvas and you won't regret it. Jane did my brows and I LOVE them! They look extremely natural and no one can tell I've had them done. This saves me a few minutes in getting ready and it's so worth it. The tattooing process itself is pretty quick. Only about a couple of minutes of pain, and the rest of it is cake. (And I really have a low tolerance for pain.) I had my sparse eyebrows tattooed and I only wish I'd done it sooner. Jane did a great job. She's confident and experienced, something you want when getting a tattoo on your face. She assessed, as another reviewer termed it, my face canvas. I have one eye that drops and so she factored that in when she drew on what she planned to do. Then she commenced to getting on with it. It's not a long procedure but it isn't pain-free. So she goes in short bursts and advises you to wiggle your feet to give you something else to focus on. It seems silly but it worked. She's very clear about the after care, giving you a small packet of ointment and cotton swabs. Everything progressed exactly as she said (too dark, too light, just right). I got my brows done by Jane back in 2007 and had them also retouched a few years later in 2009 and am going to book for a retouch again soon in 2012. She is ridiculously good at creating natural looking brows (they look like hairs under your real hair) and your brows are perfect after she is done. The end of March I got perm eyebrows by ANOTHER person. Two days later I was so anxious about the results I contacted Jane. After sending some pics, she reassured me that she could correct them and get them looking much better. So, after letting them heal as recommended by Jane, I had my first appointment with Jane the first part of May. The results of that ONE session were amazing! Jane is an absolute treasure! I chose Jane to go to to have my lips 'touched up', after doing quite a bit of research looking for 'the one' I wanted to work on my face (a pretty big deal, right?!). I had had my lips fully tattooed probably at least 15 years ago and it was time for a 'refresh'. I wasn't sure if I should do the full lip again, or just the liner. Jane, being so experienced and knowledgeable and skilled in her art, did not feel the full lip would be the thing to do, due to the way my initial tattooing was done (by another artist) all those years ago, so we went for the liner. I was interested in making my lips more symmetrical, and also the border was beginning to dissipate, so we needed to define them as well.
