Kim will analyze the skin condition then she will recommend the treatment for that day. Kim is very kind and straightforward with her services and the cost upfront. Please come timely so she can work on your skin for the alloted time. I was late once and she told me upfront that she could only work on my skin for 60 mins and she would do her best to clean my face and extract as much. I totally understand of her decision. It's been a while since I've gotten a facial. Truthfully, my skin has not been doing great since the pandemic. For reference, I work in health care and wear a mask 8+ hours a day, so a lot of my skin imperfections are concentrated in the mask region. It was very easy to make an appointment with Kim through Yelp. I messaged her on Saturday night and received a response within 20 minutes. I was able to be scheduled for the following Sunday morning. Kim spent time looking at my skin and asking what products I've used. She takes the time to recommend skin products that work best for your skin. It's important to note that she doesn't recommend specific brands and does not try to sell you products on the spot. Rather, she gets to the root cause of your acne/blemishes and recommends specific ingredients for you to look for in the store. I really appreciated this, as I never felt pressured to buy more things from her. I could just.. relax! The experience was wonderful. I received hydrodermabrasion treatment, extraction, and moisturizing facial. I was so relaxed that I almost fell asleep, which was great because I had a stressful week before this appointment. My skin felt so clean and moisturized! Like another reviewer, I tried to give Kim a big tip because I felt she deserved it. However, she insisted on giving it back. I came here a week ago for the hydra dermabrasion and facial. After cleaning my face, Kim examined my face first and confirmed that she could do the procedure. I had my eyes closed the entire time and it was very relaxing so I caught myself snoring a few times. Lol. I had a few blackheads and whiteheads so Kim cleared those pores. A week later and my skin still looks great. This was my second time and I'm sure I'll go again. The only thing is that I wish Kim would say what she is going to do next. I would give more stars, but unfortunately, I didn't get what I paid for. The place itself is a little sketchy, given it's on the side aisle inside a nail salon. Originally, I came for an acne facial, but Kim explained that acne facial does not deep clean out the pores (with a special hydra machine), so I upgraded to a hydro-facial. She explained that the hydra-facial is this month's special for $99 cash/$115 by card. While Kim did clean out my pores, she did not make enough time to perform the blackhead extraction, which I much so needed due to a recent flare up. She extracted blackheads on the right side of my face (which was minimal), and it was my left side of my face that needed the extraction much more. I asked her why she didn't perform the extraction on the left side of my face. Kim said the session is only 70 minutes, and I can come back another time to finish the extraction. Why would I paid another $75-115 for you to finish an incomplete session? Ridiculous. Please be warned. She did a quick assessment of my skin and had a couple of questions about what I do at home in terms of moisturizing. She ended up suggesting an acne treatment as well since I had a bunch of stubborn whiteheads and it was great. I didn't know what to expect pain-wise especially since they've been so stubborn for me but it definitely hurt a lot less compared to what I tried at home if anything her extraction method was just mild discomfort. She did a steaming treatment before and some moisturizing, a mask, and a cold treatment after so it was really nice. You get to go under a blanket/towel and there's relaxing spa sounds as well during the whole treatment. Overall was a wonderful experience. So soothing and nourishing for my overall wellbeing. Been coming to Kim on and off for about 2 years now. It's been awhile since I've been, but after today's appointment I am totally reminded of how amazing and great her Hydradermabrasion Facial is! Kim really cares about her clients - talking them through the process beforehand, doing an assessment of your skin's current status, checking in before going for an extraction, and providing a relaxing and thorough experience. My skin was feeling dull, oily, and I was breaking out a bit. I mainly use Japanese/Korean skincare products but felt like I was in need of a deeper cleanse and some exfoliation. Her Hydradermabrasion Facial left me feeling like I had an intense exfoliation but without residual redness, pain, or sensitivity. (I actually have really sensitive combination skin that's prone to rashes/eczema.) My pores feel cleansed, my skin feels hydrated, tight, and soft to the touch. Since it has been awhile since my last facial, she did make the assessment that I had a lot of dead skin (esp on my forehead) which is what I was feeling before coming in - and not even saying it to her. She took the time to go over my forehead twice with the vacuum tip! I've been to a handful of places in the Bay Area for facials, from SF to San Jose - and Kim's Hydrodermabrasion Facials are really the best. My face has never looked so good! I feel amazing. I arrived and Kim was available right on time and ready to start. She brought me in to her studio and asked me to lay down to assess my skin. She has a heated bed with clean, comfy blankets. She suggested a few options for my skin, which she suggests is very sensitive. In addition to the options, she offers just the face and neck or face, neck and shoulders. I elected a hydrating facial including shoulders. I inquired about microdermabrasion which she offers for $100, far more than the hydrating or collagen facials, but didn't recommend for my skin. I appreciate her honesty in that she could sell me something to put more money in her pocket but is more ethical than that. She began with two cleanings of the face followed by the decolletage and shoulders massage (which really included back raking and accupressure and arms to the elbows). Her pressure and vigor was more than I'm used to but I liked it. She then exfoliated, extracted, used high frequency and, I think, galvanic, followed by a peel off mask, toner, and sunscreen. I fell asleep three times. I didn't notice except that I was woken up by my snoring! After peeling off the mask she gave me a mirror and I just couldn't believe how good my skin looked. I called today to get a facial and she was very pleasant on the phone and squeezed me in for 1 o'clock. Now, I seen that it was in Fremont but I didn't pay attention to the address and didn't notice it was 25 minutes away from my house until I was already on the freeway so I was like, this better be worth it and let me tell you, it absolutely was! When I walked in she informed me that she will be with me shortly so I waited about 5 minutes, which gave me enough time to go over all the things this day spa had to offer. When she brought me in the room, it was small but cozy, the only thing that was weird was she didn't ask me to take off my shirt, normally I would take my shirt off and they give me a towel to cover myself but she didn't, this just showed me that it didn't come with a neck massage but I wasn't concerned because my face massage made up for it. She told me what kind of skin I had and immediately went to doing my facial. I did the basic facial thinking it would be basic but it was far from it. She took her time, had a variety of face care material that she used and you can just feel the deep clean with every stroke. She honestly was perfect, after she gave me a lot of information and told me to come when ever I feel the need for a facial that I know my skin better then anyone else so she didn't want to have to tell me when to come which I really liked. It was my first time getting a facial with her and she talked me through what she was going to do and also gave me tips on products to use for my skin. First she had be lay down and relax while she assessed my skin. Then she cleaned my face and went to work. I loved the cold treatment she did toward the end. It was so soothing. I loved how my face felt and looked afterwards. I would bring cash but you can use the ATM machine that's inside too (charges ~$3 fee). Also don't shave, thread, go in the sun too much, or use strong products at least 1-2 days before your appointment to avoid any irritation. I didn't know this and she might have forgotten to mention it since we only texted to book the appointment.
