Fademan barbershop is always phenomenal. Every time I show up Kevin is ready and excited to cut my hair for me, and every cut is done within the 25 minute period that is offered and intended. Whatever you ask Kevin to do he will happily listen and perform to a tee. He goes through the smallest details just to make sure I look my best. After he's done he gives a hot towel which always feels amazing. Besides the perfect haircuts there is nobody that I would rather do my hair than Kevin. He's constantly all smiles and asks how I'm doing, what I'm looking forward to, and how my friends and family are that also go to his barbershop. The vibes are also high there. Pictures of LeBron and Kobe hang up which he loves to talk about. That coupled with his great musical taste and bright lights make it an enjoyable environment to be in. He always offers beverages to me as well. Between the amazing haircuts, well designed shop, and Kevin's friendliness and constant smile, there is no place that I could recommend more than Fademans barbershop. read more

Been coming here for the last year or so and have only good things to say. Kevin's very detailed oriented and you will get at least 30 minutes with him every time. He'll remember you and likes to build a relationship with you. I and others who I've sent his way have really liked our cuts. The first time I came here everything was great. Kevin listened and gave a great haircut. The second time I came here though was not a good experience. He txted me saying the appointment would be delayed, which was no problem. Stuff happens. So I go and ask for a medium skin fade with VERY clear instructions since I'm pretty particular with my hair. Once he's done, I look in the mirror and realize he did a low fade on the back plus the sides AND the back weren't a skin fade at all. There was still quite a bit of hair there. So I ask him kindly to fix it. He then got short and said "I don't have time, next time ask for a higher fade." If YOU as the barber are running late, you should make an extra effort to do a BETTER job and do what was ASKED of you. You don't kick your client out and say it was their fault. VERY rude and unprofessional. At the premium price this guy charges, the least he could do is do his job properly. Judging by his response to his other low-rated reviews, he'll probably act like a tough guy and deny all of this but he should really grow up and admit that he needs to learn some manners when dealing with his clients. Prior to covid - i was pretty cheap about spending for a haircut but since covid i want a place that is clean, takes appointments, and ofcourse gives a good cut... While the cost was more than I usually spend, it was easy to make an appointment online, reviews were really good and the place was clean. Came here for a long overdue haircut and was very happy with the cut! I showed up 5 minutes early, as requested in the appointment reminder, and Kevin was already set up and ready to get started immediately on time. Kevin was very efficient and detailed with the haircut. The barbershop is very clean, and I appreciated that Kevin frequently used the blowdryer to keep the cut hair from building up around me. I gave him very little guidance on my haircut, as I did not have a strong opinion, and I appreciated that he comfortable to start cutting despite my lack of a preference. Updating my review because I see that you replied with something that is not accurate... yes I was a walk in ... first time I ever saw your shop ... my issue is not with booking an appointment that was never the issue at all... I'm happy to book an appointment... the issue was when I asked if you had time for a cut you just looked at me and said "no".... and just looked at me... You should have said ... "no, I'm sorry you have to book an appointment" or something like that or told me how to book an appointment. The interaction was very negative. If you read other reviews here or on Google you will see that I am not the only one saying that he has a giant attitude problem. One that I found particularly interesting is a gentleman that has been going to him for over a year... he said that he's seen him be very aggressive towards walk-ins and if you read the responses that he has written to anyone that has given any sort of criticism you will see his responses are very hostile even towards someone who gave him a 4 star review. read more

He is an artist and craftsman. He opened his own shop here two weeks ago. Quite simply the most pleasurable haircut experience of my life. The music he played was fabulous. Kevin is an excellent barber who is exceptionally skilled and friendly. I have come to Fademan twice now and am impressed with Kevin and his shop. He recommended slight changes to my normal cut that have improved my style. He pays extra attention to small details - he's thorough, textures my hair, fades well, and knows just how much to trim for a crispy cut. I love the music, decor, and comfort of the chairs. Owner was rude and unprofessional because I was 4 minutes late. "Your late" and "This is your time not mine" I felt like I was being scolded by my school teacher when I was trying to relax and get a haircut. I had an appointment scheduled at 330 pm on Friday (08/06) which was scheduled on Thursday. And I got the confirmation for it on Thursday as well. And then it was canceled later night without providing any reason. I called the listed phone number and no one would pick it up. Bad customer service experience. Update #1 : I have been to his shop twice before. He did a good job with fade. But first time he cut it extremely short on top and second time he did not cut anything at top and all he did was fade. And now he is telling me "my hair has so much work to do", that is ironic given that all he did last time was fade and that is the name of his shop. Update # 2: Real reason he cancelled my appointment is because I tipped him 20% last time and he practically demanded more tip which I don't think was justified. But I would have still tipped him more, only if he had accepted it on credit card (which he uses for haircut charge) since I don't have enough cash on me all the time. But he wants tips *only* in cash. I wonder why!! Update # 3 : Latest update from barber just proves my point. Real reason he cancelled without any explanation is because he got 20% tip for an ok haircut (which I think is fair. Not sure what was he was expecting). May be he should increase the price if wants higher tips but of course that has tax implications. And it's clear why he wants cash tips!! read more

Kevin is an old school barber. Cuts take 30-40 minutes and he's extremely detail oriented. Knows what he is doing and hair won't ever look bad after 3-4 weeks. This is literally my first review because of this experience. I MADE an account for this hostile encounter. Woof.. I have been a bartender, roofer, manager, I have been many things over my 13 years in the hospitality industry. The disrespect and attitude I received from this man was.. just so sudden and not justifiable. I had passed earlier for a walk in and I saw he had closed for lunch and locked the place without warning. Okay going to lunch no biggie humans gotta eat right? So I pass by AGAIN after some errands in what was a busy day for me as well. He said "I have an appointment but I'll be done by 2:45 come then and I'll take care of you" so mind you this was a verbal "appointment" said no problem I live close so I'll be here around then. I show up I kid you not, at 2:47 at he is just sitting in his chair STEWING. Before I sat down he said the following. And no I'm not paraphrasing because I am writing this review walking back home directly from this encounter. Says: "hey man when I say be here at 2:45 that means you have to be here. I sat here and if someone came in a walk in I would take them. Next time be here on time. Normally I don't do this but I take care of you. That's not okay. Now take off your clothes, sit down." Hand to YEEZUS that's what this man said. Soo I said "You know what? I don't want the haircut thank you. I'm sorry for being disrespectful, but the way you are reacting right now is not okay. He told me he's been cutting hair in Manhattan for a few years and this is the first spot he's owned.
