She is very good at what she does and more importantly extremely nice and kind person. Once you interact with her you know how much she loves her job and cares for her customers. One tip to add: If you are visiting for the first time, you may have trouble locating the salon. It's right next to De Janeiro. But most of those glowing reviews are pre-covid. I don't know if a lot of their stylists left but there's a notable lack of reviews post-covid. They're kind and the space feels lux and quiet. Problem is communication, went multiple times feeling very whelmed and changed stylist every time. After my third time I think I'm done, I've shown pictures and discussed with them what I wanted but they can never seem to get it right. Instead they default to a generic taper short off the sides and medium top cut, but then why tell me you can do the cut or even have experience with it? Is it my head shape? Face? Am I too ugly? Communicate that to me before you decide to just ignore the conversation we had and just free style. It's frustrating because I am growing out my hair for this cut and they do what they want. I don't want to be rude and stop you mid cut but then why am I paying so much just to be left unsatisfied? Most of the men leaving the place have the same exact cut. Anything longer than a short to medium cut is a no go, those cuts look clean and nice. Kept going in with shoulder length wavy hair just to get butchered every time.

One jackass who charges $100 for a haircut talked about how a real barber (such as himself of course) only does 4 haircuts an hour. Really 4 haircuts an hour? That's 15 minutes each, which after getting in and out of the chair and prepping and combing equals about 10 minutes. You might as well go to supercuts to get that sort of crap haircut. Which brings me to Jerry's! If you are in the city and want to spend 1/3 of what some hipster doofus barber will charge you then check out Jerry's! I used to go to Jerry's consistently when I first started working in midtown but started going to a place in jersey near where I lived at the time, though I still pop over once in a while. If you are in midtown and want a good haircut, this is the place (great if you work in midtown and the boss is giving you crap about your shaggy hair). Mostly older barbers who can do a variety of styles (though I doubt they do shaggy hipster/bieber cuts).They give a very thorough, careful haircut. Usually lasts at least 25 minutes, since they actually take their time and go over it more than once to make sure it is perfect. It is pricey around $30ish I believe, but hey, its in midtown. And of course they use a straight razor, and less importantly but still really cool, they have an ancient hand cranked hot towel machine! P.S. Its very difficult to find (buried in the basement) so ask for directions at one of the rock center info desks located at each entrance.

Ive been coming here since they just opened and I must say Excellent barbershop! I used to believe in "never cheat on your barber"however with this place its "never cheat on your barbershop!" Everyone does an excellent job!! I get a skin-fade and a hot towel shave once a week and I take my haircuts very, very seriously (since i perform on broadway). Beautiful place very bright, very comfortable, service is on the highest level! One of the biggest reasons i go there is because the waiting time is never longer than 5 min and in the meantime they offer top shelf drinks (complementary of course). I'm usually hesitant of going to new places but due to the lack of time going to my regular spot and the desperate need of getting a cut, I thought I'd give this place a try since it's only across the street from my office. Having just a photo of what my hair use to be and explaining how grown out it was, Richie was able to get me the exact cut I wanted. Best barber shop NYC lives up to its name - it's definitely the best in Hell's Kitchen/Midtown! When I moved to the neighborhood I tried a few other barber shops, but none compare to Barber Shop NYC. I've been coming to Authur for close to two years now and i don't see myself stopping any time soon. I get my haircut about every two weeks so you do the math. That's A LOT of haircuts. Extremely friendly and incredibly courteous. I have gone their twice since they opened and on both occasions I wasn't totally happy with what I ended up with (to be clear: they cut it exactly how I asked, I just wanted to adjust my choice.) On both occasions when I returned to change it up, they insisted on not charging me a penny -- even when it involved some major changes. That's how I came across Chaps & Co at 230 Park Avenue, and I couldn't have made a better choice. I noticed this location at 230 Park Avenue didn't have any reviews yet, and I knew I would be the first to leave one--which felt important because others need to know about this gem. I was able to book a 10:00 AM appointment for Thursday and arrived about 15 minutes early. My barber, Huseyn, greeted me right away, and we started chatting as if we'd known each other for years. I showed him photos of my haircuts from my regular barbers in Los Angeles and the Bay Area, along with the different styles I've had over time. Right before 10:00 AM, we walked into the shop--which was super clean, ultra-luxurious, and stocked with top-tier products. When I told Huseyn what I wanted, he looked at me and said, "Don't worry, I got you." From there, we kept talking and getting to know each other, sharing stories about our lives. Never once did I question Huseyn or what he was doing--it honestly felt like he had cut my hair many times before, even though it was our first appointment. About halfway through, Huseyn smiled and said, "Man, you weren't joking--your hair is really thick," which I usually take as a good or bad sign with a new barber. In the past, I've had barbers give up or rush through a cut when they realized how much work thick hair can be, but that wasn't the case here. The entire haircut and beard trim took about an hour and a half, which is standard for me, and Huseyn's process and flow were a perfect 10+. He's very mature for his age and shared how hard he worked to earn his spot at Chaps & Co. From what I saw of his skill and attention to detail, I can confidently say Huseyn is hands down the best--or at the very least one of the best--barbers at this shop. We connected on a deeper level, too; we share the same faith and talked about Christianity and what it has done for our lives. His Instagram handle, @barbergotfaith, couldn't be more fitting after hearing his story. After my cut, I told Huseyn I noticed Chaps & Co at 230 Park Avenue didn't have any reviews yet but had a deep history in barbering, and that I had to leave a review even though I was only in town for a quick trip. I've been fortunate in life to experience comfort and luxury, and I'm so thankful I got matched with Huseyn for this visit. When I met up with my wife afterward, she was blown away--she knows my barbers in LA and NorCal well, and she said, "WOW WOW WOW--whoever cut your hair is right up there with the best." I told her I had no idea who was going to cut me and that I just got incredibly lucky. Whether you're a local looking for a new shop, someone without a regular barber, or visiting New York for work or fun and need a haircut or beard trim, I can confidently say Chaps & Co is your shop, and Huseyn is your barber. You will not be disappointed--take it from someone who has been getting weekly cuts and lineups for the last 25 years. Valerie delivered, dare I say it, perfection. And ahead of schedule at that. To answer the question in your mind: yes, I made it on time to my appointment. I was even 3 minutes early, which I played up as 15 minutes. And to answer your next question: also yes. I'll definitely be back to Premier Barbershop for an excellent haircut at a fair price and impeccable speed. And who knows? Next time, I might even be early.

Made the mistake of going to a different barbershop that did a poor job so i mostly came in to fix…read moremy previous cut. Got an appointment with Mario and he took great care of me. I do a fade on the sides but leave the top and back long so it's kind of a tricky cut that requires a some skill to bring it all together. There are certain tools I want to see my barber use (scissors, clippers with a specialized guard for blends, straight razor) to make it all look right. Mario pulled out all the stops and was very attentive, diligent, and friendly (in a quiet way). The entire experience was a positive one and I will be making this my go-to for cuts in the future.

Given they advertise children cuts, I thought they would. Upon entering the store with my son, I was greeted with a very unfriendly 'please go away and take your kid away' from a guy, I believe David. He looked like he walked straight out of a dumpster, very unfresh looking dude. Even though I had an appointment, they made me wait 15min. Only after that time, they told me they don't do children haircuts and asked me to leave. Came all the way there from Chelsea with an appointment with my son for nothing, planned our entire friday evening around this trip. These guys clearly don't have children nor respect. Don't go here.

Vlad works quickly but cuts hair meticulously, and as a customer who has patronized his business for more than ten years, I know I can rely on him to give me the best cut possible. Vlad has a very good sense of humor and it's a pleasure to return to his shop month after month... even if it means having to watch CNN on the television set mounted on his back wall. From the first scissor clicks to the final powder puff dust off, the entire haircut experience is very enjoyable.
