However, I also believe that patients deserve compassion, understanding, clear communication, and reasonable access to their healthcare team. As a patient already navigating a difficult medical journey, I needed compassion and understanding--not to feel as though I was doing something wrong simply because I wanted to schedule an appointment to follow up with my doctor. When you are already dealing with the emotional and physical challenges that come with any type of serious medical condition , whether present or past, having to navigate additional barriers just to see your doctor about your concerns can feel overwhelming and discouraging. Trying to schedule an appointment should not require so much difficulty with the staff. No patient should feel as though they are being interrogated or made to feel wrong for advocating for themselves and trying to receive appropriate follow-up care. Being consistently questioned about referrals, having to explain the "why" behind wanting to see my doctor, and repeatedly having to justify my need for an appointment is upsetting and frustrating. Especially, when I know the referrals have been sent multiple times. My insurance company doesn't even require referrals. As, a courtesy I go through the process of obtaining one to not have to deal with stuff like this! It's the constant back and forth and being given inconsistent information. I'm not even a new patient, just someone trying to make sure. I'm doing what's best for my life, yet a single individual sitting at a desk gets to determine my worth and speak over me. I sincerely hope that my experience can be taken seriously and that greater compassion and understanding, customer service and communication can be shown to patients who are already dealing with the emotional and physical challenges of their medical I say all of this to say: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Treat people with kindness, compassion, respect, and understanding, because you never know what someone may be going through. The way you treat others matters--and one day, you may need that same grace extended to you. Thank you!

And I started to tell him about my problems and he got an attitude with me. I would like to find Dr. Sam again. I heard he went into private practice, but he hasn't opened up yet. I contact the Cancer clinic of Nevada three weeks ago about finding me a different doctor in their system because I won't go back to the new one they sent me to Dr. samlowski I hope to find you I have bladder cancer now. I just had surgery and I'm supposed to start BCG treatments at the end of the month.

Beware of several things before scheduling an appointment, if not you might end up wasting your…read moretime making a trip to his office. REMEMBER, what happens in any doctor's office is 100% dictated by the doctor. The help is only following directions of the doctor. _________________________________________________ 1) You will be playing "phone tag" with his reps. 2) Once contact is made you will not be able to complete your registration questionnaire online or via a portal - you will need to do it in the office (20th century practice). I believe - this is not accidental as it perpetuates the insurance coverage confusion. 3) Dr. Dasari does not accept secondary insurance along with your primary insurance. He only accepts supplementary insurance with your primary insurance. This is not disclosed on the website. 4) Be 100% sure what type of insurance(s) and coverage you have -get with his office manager before you waste time making & going to an appointment. The last thing you need is finding out your insurance(s) are not accepted by his office. 5) The reps who you will be "playing phone tag" with are either not up to speed with insurance coverage details or are not willing to disclose them. Remember, they are really people who are there to close the deal (sales people). They only do what the doctor instructs them to do. Bottom line: When a doctor only accepts Supplementary Insurance they end up with more $ in their pocket and the patient ends up with more out of their pocket (expenses). *My suggestion: move on to a doctor who clearly advertises the insurance they accept. Suggestion, find one who accepts secondary coverage insurance with your primary coverage insurance.

My husband Peter's new Hematologist/Oncologist found that he was bleeding internally and needed a…read morecolonoscopy and upper endoscopy asap. This doctor immediately referred Peter to Dr. Frank Nemec. Since we didn't know either doctor, we were quite apprehensive and uneasy but also, Peter never had nor wanted a colonoscopy, especially now at 80. Living in So CA for decades, our medical care came from UCLA only. This was so very scary. So at 11a on Thu, a referral was sent to Dr. Nemec's office and two hours later, Peter had an appointment scheduled for the next day. Dr.'s entire staff was so professional, nice, and caring. We were pleasantly shocked. After a very brief wait, Dr. Nemec came into the room with his assistant and his amazing energy embraced us. I am still in awe of how he 'knew' everything about my husband's case (without referring to notes or a computer). His calming, nurturing presence made us both feel totally at ease immediately. It felt as though we were having a chat with our good friend. Dr. N.'s 'chairside manner' instantly turned our fear and trepidation into assured eagerness to get the procedures done. After an easy-to-comprehend explanation of what was to come, Dr. walked us out to the scheduling desk. As I wheeled Peter to the car I said, "Where did HE come from? Peter, I feel so at ease and confident with Dr. Nemec. Matter of fact, I may schedule my first colonoscopy." Peter felt as if a looming black cloud had passed. Prior to procedure day, I called the office twice with questions and Andriana, who answered the phone, knew most of the answers right away and put me on hold to check one bit. She was so kind, patient, and definitely knowledgeable. She really cares. At the Ambulatory Surgery Center of So NV on procedure day, we were nervous in unknown territory. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly with a smile and check-in was seamless. Again, simply great energy. Peter didn't feel as if he was just a number and we both really felt all would be OK. When Jenny, Peter's nurse came to take us back, she was so calming, cordial, and nice. We then met Sissy, the Anesthesiologist who was extremely professional and so friendly. All was explained and quickly Peter was wheeled away. Shortly thereafter, a nurse came to take me back to Recovery. All went very well and Peter's aftercare was very attentive. Very soon, Dr. Nemec came in to our cubicle and explained his findings and very patiently answered all our questions. Both Peter and I expressed our heartfelt gratitude to him. Two days later, I called with a question and Nurse Kelly, who was on top of everything, went out of her way to assist me in such an understanding manner. Dr.'s entire, cohesive TEAM truly love their jobs and care about their patients. We believe that comes directly from the top. Dr. Nemec's comprehensive medical expertise and his compassionate giving heart are such a gift to many. He truly is our Earth Angel.
