Faema is a nice Italian cafe if you want to kill some time and have a coffee and a little dessert/snack or a full lunch/light dinner. It is set up more like a restaurant. so you will not find comfy sofas, love seats where you can hang out with your friends and talk about nonsenses for hours. The cappuncino I ordered was A-OK. It was fun looking at all these coffee makers at the back corner of the store. When you agree to drop your kid and friend off at the mall and you have zero interest in being at the mall, Faema hits the spot. A ridiculously late lunch for me means that it was not busy at all. Service was very friendly, helpful and fast. I had a delicious caprese salad and americano. A Nutella shortbread cookie was slightly lemony, just perfect in my opinion. We came here for gelato in the evening. Upon walking in, we noticed one waiter scooping gelato into a cone. She tried to pass it off to another waiter but ended taking it back after a minute. I couldn't imagine 2 waiters for such a large restaurant, but then I saw 3 others in the back who looked like they were just chatting. It took several minutes to even get some samples. We asked for 2 samples, the waiter gave us one that we didn't ask for and when we asked for the one we originally asked for, she simply told us that we could only get 2 samples per person. That seems ridiculous since the medium comes with 2 choices and the large comes with 3. We were ready to order but the waiter had already walked away to join the 3 in the back, leaving one poor waiter at the front with a lineup of 4-6. Looking across at a Starbucks, I sat to enjoy a Double Espresso after a day of work. I did what I know it to be the 'Greg C.' Espresso test to see the consistency and quality, where it did pass but obviously not the same as the place where he showed me. Nevertheless it made for an enjoyable drink at a place where it felt like an INDOOR patio setting with a unique food fridge display that has curves like no other. It makes for a good VIEW of the desserts, paninis, salads. The BACK corner is a display of various Espresso Machines and accessories not as much options as Green Beanery but it is still an interesting sight. I had the Chocolate Brownie that seem to have Walnuts in it with a Fudge layer. It was better than simply a CAKE-base Brownie and along with the side of Whip Cream it really make the Chocolate stand out without being overly sweet. There's Waiter Service here as well or if you're simply on a COFFEE RUN you can go to the counter and order. I live in Brampton and I bring my kids to wonderland to spend a few hrs there.. So I come here with my wife and have some food and espressos.. It's very casual atmosphere.. The food is very good here especially the Panini and pizzas.. They also have Gelato ice cream which is just sooo good, the flavors are so robust and creamy.. And the espressos are also wonderful.. Went for lunch yesterday and had one of the best veggie sandwiches ever! Filled with all my favourites, eggplant, zucchini, red peppers, mushrooms and the best part goat cheese! My friends and I dropped by to chat over a coffee. Everything was an indulgence at Faema. There were seriously good espresso and Americano. They were rich and smooth. How did Faema make these? The impressive part was the dessert and ice cream. We had a selection of gelato, tart and cake. They were all rich, yet not overly sweet. The bill for the four of us was under $30, tax included. My family have been repeated customers (though not frequent) over the years and I would say the food (at least the pizzas and sweets, thats what we usually order) and coffee are consistently good. But they need to make their service just as consistant and good. It really depends on who serves you, the most recent time we visited, a girl greeted us and sat us down at a table, she said she would come back to wipe the table and bring us the menu. Gone for good 10-15 mins, we saw her chilling by the counter and serving other customers. We finally asked another server who walked pass us to clean and bring us menus and that server is good. Service throughout the meal was on the slow side, except when we asked for the bill -_-". But I will still go back once in a while, I do like their coffee. read more

It is the best coffee right now in the GTA. Located in a satellite mall to Vaughan Mills, the outside is really vanilla. The interior has a very modern and sleek look. They feature coffee, pastries, sandwiches and gelato. They have a large area selling various coffee makers including really expensive ones. The coffee is superior and the pastry fresh and extremely well baked. The service is good. The prices are about the same as Starbucks....but oh the difference in taste. My mother-in-law really enjoys taking coffee there, although its quite a haul. It is worth it. Go there! read more

Not good. Went here after dinner. I ordered the Ferrara rochier cheesecake and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was basic. The cheesecake was sour, I couldn't eat it. It had gone bad but mine was the first slice, so I'm just wondering how long so they store them before bringing it out. I left it. I never walked out of a restaurant before today. The moment we walked in we knew we were in for a terrible time. The table was so sticky our menu was literally velcroing on to it. The waiter took our drink order then had to come back and tell us he's from the downtown branch and, I'm sorry, they don't have any beers on tap here. We ordered two soups of the day and after taking our order he comes back and tells us there is only one soup left (???). We waited 45 minutes for 2 salads and a soup before walking out. I was here on Father's Day with my family for lunch, coffee and dessert. The service was slow and inconsistent - they ran out of lots of items. My mango salad with grilled chicken was small with very few pieces of mango and not very fresh spinach with a few craisins on it. The chicken incredibly dry. When I say dry - I mean DRY! First three-four times I went for lunch it was great..pizza, veggie panini, gnoicchi, belgium waffles were all great ...two bad experiences after that : my cousin got a cupcake which was horribly stale and then the last time I went was for dinner- pizza was soggy even after we asked them to refire it and chicken panini wrap was very unimpressive and had soggy warm lettuce. SELLING EXPIRED ESPRESSO BEANS! Does this mean they are making expired espresso too? Check the expiration date on all espresso beans, the last 3 times I went they were selling expired beans. The first time I bought 2 bags and when I went up to pay the cashier said they were on sale. I got home and found both bags expired by 6 months. I returned the bags. The next time I went 6 out of the 8 bags were expired not by a few months but a year. When I talked to the manager she said the manufacturer was selling them expired beans. WELL THEN WHY ARE YOU SELLING THEM IN YOUR STORE!! Check your stock. Does this mean they are making expired espresso too? I will definitely try to find a different place to buy espresso beans if that is the kind of business they are running. read more
