On my search for the best Pho in Denver, I visited Faifo Noodle House last year and got their Beef Pho with extra Beef Rib. The broth was deep and aromatic and the portion size, especially with the beef rib, was massive. Everything was so impressive that since that visit, this place has been on my regular rotation for pho. Beside Pho, they have a few other offerings, one of which is rather unique. For the more adventurous, Faifo offers a spicy beef pho. This is a dry-style pho serves with all the fixin' and a spicy sate style sauce that makes for an amazing meal on a hot day. It also comes with a bowl of pho broth for satisfying sips between bites. This is easily one of my favorite dish on the menu and a must try here. Beside that, I've also had their Bun Bo Hue, which is pretty dang tasty. The broth is very tasty, though not as funky or spicy as ones I've had in Vietnam. Nonetheless, it's a mighty tasty bowl and something to get for the colder days here in Denver. Both the Bo Kho and the Banh Canh are also very good as well, though not a must compared to other dishes on the menu. Overall, Faifo is a great Vietnamese restaurant. The value is also tremendous given the portion size. This is an easy 4/5 for me. read more

Wow, how fortunate are we to find this unicorn of a restaurant that serves bò kho and many Vietnamese staples. Their bò kho definitely reminds me of my father's recipe, which is rich and not overly sweet. This aromatic Vietnamese beef stew is a fragrant broth infused with lemongrass, star anise, and spices. It's a bowl of distinct and complex flavor profile that balances savory, sweet, spicy notes, with a vibrant brick-red color from the annatto seeds. The cuts of beef shank, flank, and chuck were soft so you know they spent hours simmering to achieve this level of tenderness. The deep beef profile is highlighted when adding bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime juice to cut through the richness and carrots provided a natural sweetness to the savory broth. Bánh canh is a Vietnamese noodle soup featuring thick, chewy noodles made from tapioca flour, rice flour, or a mix, served in a flavorful broth with various toppings like pork, shrimp, crab, or fish cake. The broth is clean from the hours of simmering bones to create a savory, collagen-rich base. You can taste the freshness of the soup garnished with fresh cilantro, green onions, fried shallots, lime, and chili oil. Plus you get a boat load of proteins and garnishes - shrimp cake, imitation crab meat, shrimp, quail egg, mushroom, tapioca noodle, onion, cilantro and black pepper. The good: Love the concept - fast casual Vietnamese. Nice vibe and decor. Easy to order, lots of options but not too crazy so decision paralysis is minimized. Service was decent, like any fast casual. Nothing to call home for - they take your order and bring you the food. You get your own water/fountain drinks... and you get your own sprouts and basil at the station. The veggies were fresh and love that you can get as much as you want. You also get your own utensils and napkins. The amount of food you get for the order was plenty. I love the stainless steel bowls vs melamine at some other places. The not so good: The pho overall was decent but way over seasoned. I probably could have asked for a cup of hot water but they were looking to close 50 mins before the closing hour posted... so I hustled. The over seasoning has happened the last few times I've been here... I think maybe they are tailored to the local palate. The lady went around and cleaned up the tables around us when we were eating, I'm not sure what was in the solutions she was spraying vigorously around us, but made me feel nervous about the spray getting in my bowl of soup. Maybe it's her way of making us eat faster. Lastly, the last few times I've been, the floor was extremely slippery... it's one thing if I'm just sitting and enjoying my food, it's another when I have to go grab my own stuff and put my plates away. Definitely a hazard for the customers. I did notice a lot of their business is from take out so maybe not as big of deal... but if I have been here mid day, afternoon and evening... all are slippery... they might need to look into better cleaning methods for their floors. We had a great experience here overall. We started with the fried egg rolls, which were crispy and flavorful -- loved the classic filling with pork and mushroom. They came out hot and fresh and were a solid way to kick things off. For mains, we ordered the beef pho and the Bò Kho. The Bò Kho was delicious -- rich, aromatic, and packed with plenty of beef. The flavors were comforting and well balanced. My only small wish is that the beef was just a bit more tender, but overall it was still very satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and our food came out in a timely manner. The ambience was casual and inviting, a great spot to relax and enjoy a hearty meal whether you're dining in or stopping by for comfort food. This is our go to spot for pho. The servers are really nice and although a simple menu, they have it down. My hubby LOVES their BO KHO which is why we frequent this location. What we swallow: *DUMPLINGS: Steamed or fried, they are both good, my daughter favors the fried here. It's delicious with the sauce it's topped with. *KIDS BRISKET PHO: The kids portions are big enough that I don't have to order a regular size pho and split it amongst my kids. The broth is tasty and they love the brisket. *BEEF BANH MI: We have had the chicken and pork too but we have settled on beef being our favorite. They give us scissors so we can cut and share. *VERMICELLI NOODLE BOWL: I get this during the hot months and the meat is tasty and the veggies are fresh. *BRISKET, FATTY FLANK & FLANK PHO: Their broth is delicious. I'll venture out every so often and get tendon but it's always delicious. I do, however, have to take half home. It's a lot but yay for leftovers! *BO KHO: The reason we come here, my hubby LOVES it. I have tried this dish on several occasions and it is very tasty! *SMOOTHIES/THAI TEA/MATCHA: My girls get the shakes, usually mango, my hubby gets the thai tea and I love the matcha. The shakes are blended well with not a lot of icey lumps, so that's a plus. The thai tea and the matcha aren't overly sweet. I love that you can add a marrow bone, oxtail or ribs if you want to bump up your dish. I enjoy the marrow bone now and then. Came in during lunch and was a very okay experience. Food was not good, service was fine, and ambiance was okay, a bit warm and felt sticky. You order at the front, get a number, sit down, and they bring out the food. Everything was so sweet... Cream cheese wontons were really sweet and without the sauce Egg rolls (2 pieces for $4.50). Bland and the nuoc mam was extra sweet. Couldn't really taste anything else in the sauce Pho: There are pho places that are a little sweeter or more savory but this was straight up sweet broth. Noodles were mushy, beef was dry, and meatballs were okay. Bun Bo Hue: tried to order an add on with the pork hock but they longer sell it. The broth just tasted like a slight spicy pho broth, no lemongrass, and def needed more shrimp paste. Beef shank was dry, beef rib was tender, and the cha (pork sausage roll) was poorly cut, some very thin pieces and some 1/2 inch thick. As a Vietnamese person, this place is definitely on my top three pho places in Denver. Even though they are located in Westminster, they are still in a good driving distance from downtown. Their pho broth has so much depth, I would just order it to drink. They always cook their noodles perfectly where there is a slight chew and not soggy! The meat selection is something I look forward to because there's a good combination of fatty and tender meat. Their cream cheese wontons actually have other ingredients in them besides cream cheese which I really appreciate because that is not common in Denver. Lastly, their Banh Canh Cua actually has crab and an authentic broth that doesn't feel instantly made (again something common I've noticed in Denver) Definitely recommend this place, the drive is worth it but they also have food delivery options as well. read more

We all liked the drinks. I had a wintermelon milk tea and it was great. Several of our group raved about the delicious shrimp and fresh veggies in the #7. I thought #6 was really good with dumplings and pork ribs and slices of pork and lots of veggies. The noodles were a little bit clumpy. Several members of our group of seven people thought the service was on the slow side. In terms of ambience, the menus were beautiful with colored depictions of the food offerings. We didn't love the self service program where you're supposed to clean/bus your table. 4+ stars. read more

We stumbled upon this restaurant and left pleasantly surprised. Upon walking again, you'll see a large menu on the wall, and they take your order at the desk. When we arrived, there seem to be only one employee at the front and one in the kitchen. It did take a long time for our orders to be taken, and our food to come out. We ordered a chicken pho, bun bo hue, and mi hoanh thanh, along with three banh mi to go. The portion sizes are huge, so you will likely have leftovers. The soups were fragrant and definitely hit the spot. However, the mi hoanh thanh was surprisingly sweet. Since it was our first time having this dish, we were unsure if that's how it's supposed to taste, but it just wasn't expected. We asked for the banh mi vegetables on the side, and they gave us a generous amount as well. My favorite thing was the condiments bar-- as someone who loves basil, you can grab as much as you like. You are also responsible for putting plates and trash away; I like that they had a compost bin too! read more

I tried their #6 which turned out to be similar to a really good Won Ton. The place itself is nice, especially for being in a strip mall. It has an open air layout. I got Bun Bo Hue to satisfy my occasional craving and also because it's advertised with a giant beef shank immersed in the broth. Large portion, tons of meat, so flavorful. Obsessed with the broth flavor and might be what I get every time. I got a Vietnamese Coffee to-go since I was on my way to work, and it was just what I needed for a massive caffeine boost. Lost one star due to not taking Amex. Almost lost an extra star, due to the customers needing to grab their own utensils and sprouts, jalapeños, limes and napkins. What kept the fourth star is the restaurant, the tables and chairs, staff and a really good meal. I had the #2 special soup w/ tenderloin and sausage. Good balance of meat to noodles. A solid Vietnamese restaurant. I do love a good pho, and I always look for places that offer a HUGE rib, and this place has not one, but two?! The pho broth leans a bit sweeter and a bit less hearty and savory than I'm used to, and the ribs are quite tasty and tender, but it doesn't quite pass the "'fall-off-the-bone' tender" test. I was also surprised by the volume of the noodles you get in a large serving. You definitely won't be hungry if you eat it all. I was pleasantly surprised by the Thai tea. It uses more spices than normal Thai teas I've had, and the extra kick was addictive. I unfortunately will have to stay away from the brown sugar Thai tea, though, as while I have a sweet tooth, that drink approaches overpoweringly sugary syrup levels of sweetness. The egg rolls and the signature chicken dish, Ga Xoi Mo, were the surprises of the night. Normally I find egg rolls to be a poorly fried, soggy mess but there was real crunch and texture to these ones. I'm not sure what happened or if we came on an off day but the food was just meh. I tried the dry pho spicy beef bowl and the noodles were either overcooked, old, or frozen and then defrosted. The noodles were stuck together so it was hard to mix the flavors together. Adding the soup in helped a little but it didn't save it. The crab cheese wontons were very sweet. The eggrolls were okay. The spring rolls were average but the peanut sauce was lacking. The chili oil didn't have oil. So maybe stick with the bun bo hue when you're here. I was feeling a little under the weather and had a hankerin for eight some kind of fish or seafood soup and this spot was in the neighborhood. This was my first experience with Banh Canh and was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need to add any additional spice with chili oil or Sriracha, the couple of soft boiled quail eggs and French fried onion topping was a unique touch that made this hole in the wall stand out. I liked the Saigon Ho Chi Minh marketplace brickwork inside and the ingenious self serve ingredients of those who order pho. I will caution anyone who isn't in the mood for authentic Vietnamese cuisine that this place doesn't really have anything except for French fries on the menu. You order at the counter and then they bring it to you once it's ready. No frills and when you're done you clear your own table. My brother and I decided to try this place out after a show. The place is decent, decorated, and casual. My understanding is that this place has been open 7-8 years now. When you walk in, you need to go to your left, decide what you want, place an order, take a table number, and the server will bring out your food. My proteins was mostly pork, one little eggroll cut in 4 pc, and 2 shrimp. I don't think they did a good job in giving me my protein equally. The pork was really dry. The eggroll and the 2 shrimp was good. The sauce for the noodle bowl was good. And the vermicelli was cooked good. I think they can balance the protein portion more appropriately. It felt like they were being cheap with the eggroll and shrimp quantity. The best thing we had from our meal was the drinks. We were both disappointed with dinner. I think they may be losing their quality on their dishes, being open for so long. Their condiment station was not fully stocked. They only had condiments for pho only. Who would've thought nestled in a strip mall not located in an area specialized in Asian cuisines would be such a gem as Faifo Noodle House? As soon as I walked in I fell in love with the decor and how "street" it felt. Appreciated their simple menu and what appeared to be obvious specialties. We really enjoyed our pho and bun boa hue (spelling?) that first sip of the soup and you know it was made from scratch with all kinds of flavorful ingredients, and not from a soup pack! They serve different kinds of noodles, not just vermicelli, this the name "noodle house". I loved having egg noodles in my soup. My friends seem to enjoy their chicken rice plate and a grill noodle bowl. I wish Faifo was closer to me. The only thing I noticed was afterwards I drank a lot of water so their food might be a tad on the salty side. But that's it, everything was great including the service! read more

Faifo deserves all the hype around their food. They serve authentic flavor in very generous portions. I always get the bon bo hue, but need to try their other noodle soups and the chicken rice platter because it all looks so darn good. The serve the bon bo hue ~hot~ (temperature-wise, which I love), with ample bouncy noodles, and a healthy helping of meat and spice. Bon bo hue is one of the dishes that comes with a hunk of beef on the bone. It is a whole eating experience and I couldn't recommend it more. I can't finish the meal in one sitting, so I always have leftovers. Their spring rolls (shrimp, pork, noodles, and veggies in a rice paper roll) are also a good idea, such a fresh addition to your meal. Faifo is my go-to for noodle soup, it's replaced my previous pho place. Go treat yourself to big bowls of soup. read more

Faifo has the best pho broth in the Broomfield/Westminster/Arvada area. It's got a deep flavor, with a healthy portion of onions and cilantro. They have changed their service during the pandemic to counter service, last time I want everyone was very friendly, and made great menu suggestions. My favorite thing about Faifo is that there is one size pho for $13.50 and you get to choose up to 5 different cuts of meat, which includes meatball. Pho meatballs are my favorite. It's a great portion of soup and you get your money's worth. I've tried almost everything on the menu, and all of the dishes are really good, including vermicelli bowls and rice plates. Notable standouts here also include the sweet potato fries and Vietnamese iced coffee! There is something about the sweet potato fries - I think there is a spice sprinkled on top that makes them extra delicious! Eat here for a super great, quickserve Vietnamese. Pretty straightforward menu. Not too many options. We ordered the steamed dumplings, Spicy Beef Pho (with medium rare beef, brisket, meatballs and tendon) and the Bun Bo Hue with added oxtail. The steamed dumplings were good but the texture was a bit off and the dumplings were cold in the corner. Not sure if they were frozen then heated. If I were to order again I would get the fried dumplings instead. The Pho and Noodle dishes were delicious. The Spicy Beef may actually be my favorite. The meat was cooked well but the meatball texture wasn't that pleasing. There is a sweetness to the broth. It may already include a lot of hoisin sauce. The condiments, utensils and drinks are self serve outside of boba and tea. There is chilli oil, sriracha, and hoisin sauce at the table. It's also self clean. Faifo Noodle House is a rare find -- so far, it is the only Denver restaurant I've found to offer Bo Kho - Vietnamese Beef Stew. I discovered this delicious and hearty dish twenty years ago in Santa Clara, California and it immediately became one of my favorite entrees. Since that time I've actively searched for a local restaurant that served Bo Kho. While living in the Dallas area, I was fortunate to find Pho Que Hong -- an excellent Vietnamese restaurant chain that offered Vietnamese Beef Stew which is delicious and very similar to the Bo Kho I enjoyed in California. Since moving to Denver several years ago I've been on a quest to find Bo Kho locally. I visited nearly two dozen Vietnamese restaurants and while several offered Spicy Beef Stew, none came even close to replicating the unique combination of ingredients, textures, flavors and experience of the Bo Kho I enjoyed in Santa Clara. I asked the staff at each restaurant two questions: 1. Why don't they offer Bo Kho? 2. Do they know a restaurant that offers Bo Kho? The answers were: 1. Bo Kho is more involved and requires greater care and effort to get right vs. other options. And, 2. They were unaware of any other restaurants that offered Bo Kho. My luck changed last week when I discovered Faifo Noodle House on what seemed to be my millionth Yelp Search for Bo Kho! I had not seen Faifo House on my other searches and I suspect it may be due to the fact that I was at Confluence Park this time and not at home near DIA. Any how, I was intrigued and headed there for dinner with cautious optimism. Faifo Noodle House did not disappoint! The venue is bright, inviting and clean. The staff is courteous and personable. And Bo Kho is prominently featured on the menu! I told Kevin (staff member) that I had been searching for Bo Kho in Denver for years and was thrilled to have found Faifo Noodle House. He informed me that he understood the paucity as Bo Kho was challenging to get right -- and that he hoped the experience lives up to my expectations. It exceeded my expectations. Faifo's Bo Kho was exquisite. The broth had great consistency and was perfectly seasoned, the ingredients were perfectly cooked, the texture of the noodles, carrots and beef were artful -- the noodles are just right and not overcooked, carrots are firm but not crunchy, and the beef is lean with great marbling and dissolved like perfectly cut sushi, .. and finally, the portion was generous -- sufficient for a filling dinner with enough leftover for lunch or dinner the next day. In summary, Faifo's Bo Kho matched and exceeded my formative Santa Clara, California Bo Kho experience. And as you might have guessed, Faifo Noodle House is now my go-to-place for Bo Kho in Denver. If you love and crave Bo Kho, try it. If you've never had Bo Kho, you owe it to yourself to have your first experience with Faifo Noodle House Bo Kho! read more
