Desire your dry cleaning to smell like body odor? Go to Fair Center Cleaners in Fair Lakes Shopping Center! I return a dry-cleaned suit jacket because the arm pits still smelled after Fair Center Cleaners' initial service. I specifically explained this a re-clean because they didn't clean it effectively the first time. Upon picking up the jacket the second time, the same smell exists and is easily detected by waving the jacket around. The staff claim they can't smell any body odor. I was absolutely appalled 1) that they claimed they couldn't smell it and 2) they refused to return the paid amount $8.50. Why would I bother to give them a third chance to 'clean' it again. I explained I have been coming here for a number of years (mostly laundry not dry-cleaning) and asked why they are they lying, not providing a cleaned product, and do they not care about retaining customers. The owner said, 'We don't need your business.' Well there you have it folks, consider finding a dry cleaner that actually needs customers instead of taking money for continued failed service. I was just ripped off and taken advantage. Last week, I dropped of three 3.5x2 inch patches to be sewed on a vest. The gentleman taking the Oder didn't know the cost, but since I've had them patches on before, I knew the charge was $5 per patch. I picked it up today and they charged me $13.33 per patch. When I questioned the price I was told they were hard to sew on ... really ... hard to sew on small patches on a vest. For the past five years, I've brought all my dry cleaning, all my tailoring, everything they do to this cleaner. NO MORE ...they have lost my business. read more

On Breaking Bad, Huell says, "That was an act of God. You can't account for no act of God." So when someone's random pen found their way into my dress shirt and exploded during cleaning... What could I say or do? Unfortunately, out of the batch of shirts that I'd sent (7 in total + 1 suit), the only ones that got ruined were my wedding day dress shirt, and another more casual button down I'd received as a birthday gift from my sister and brother in law. They were also unfortunately the two most expensive shirts out of the group. You can imagine my surprise when I went to go pick up my dry cleaning. $400 dress shirt (not including tailoring), just gone. The lady at the register (owner I'm assuming), was super apologetic. She knew immediately how expensive the shirt was (kept mentioning it repeatedly) and offered compensation in any way she could. She asked me to provide valuation on the damaged clothes and give her a number and they'd cover the cost of the damaged items. S**t happens, I get it. It happens to all businesses, good and bad. I respond poorly sometimes, I respond better at others. I appreciate how upfront they were about the damage that occurred and their willingness to make amends for the mistake. For me especially there was sentiment involved with the damaged clothing, but this could have very well happened to just about anyone else. I can say that I've never had a problem with this business before, am not having any problems with them now as we're currently working the situation out, and don't expect to have any problems with them in the future. I dropped off another batch of dress shirts after I'd received the bad news. A+ for service. *Side note for people unaccustomed to dealing with 1st generation Asians for whom English is not their first language: what might be construed as "rude" is an unfortunate consequence of clashing cultures. Even when Korean / Chinese / Vietnamese etc. people speak to each other in their native languages, to the unaccustomed ear the tone sounds rude. Asian languages (with the exception of Japanese in my opinion) sound very combative. So imagine a non-native speaker trying to learn the intonations and mannerisms of dealing with English speaking customers. It's tough. I'd suggest keeping an open mind when dealing with English-as-a-second-language folk and what you might perceive to be as rude as them making their best effort to communicate in the only way they know how, which is not intentionally trying to sound or be rude. Who in their right mind is rude on purpose to someone trying to spend money in their establishment? (Well, I suppose there are exceptions... but they have to be few and far between). read more

This is my favorite dry cleaners in the Northern Virginia area. They're customer friendly, provide great service all the time and deliver great service. Although I live in Dunn Loring, I make a hike out to this specific dry cleaners because they do an awesome job with dry cleaning, cleaning, pressing and ironing anything you need! The prices are moderate and they're able to get a two to three day turnaround. I don't have any complaint! read more

Only used them once so far (I don't dry clean much), but so far so good! $4.95 for a skirt, pretty quick turn-around time, and no unpleasant or chemical smell on the garment. (I believe they use organic cleaners.) Everything is done on-site, so I was optimistic that my request to not have safety pins attach the garment to the hanger would carry weight. Metal tension-type clips were used - sort of like shorter bobby pins - so no holes. :-) (Pins through nice fabrics when they cleaned them off-site are the reason I was trying a new dry cleaner.) The possible stain on my black skirt - which they made note of when I dropped it off - isn't totally out, though it's less shiny. But it's been there awhile - possibly through a previous dry cleaning - and I think it's probably a drop of hand sanitizer that messed up the finish of the fabric itself, not a stain per se. "You get what you pay for" - I recently realized I had to leave ZIPS behind. My clothes were getting mangled, stained, splotched with starch, shirts coming back wrinkled and slacks improperly creased. I found Fair Center Cleaners with the help of YELP, of course. They are friendly and take pride in doing awesome work. The first go around I needed a hem re-sewn in one pair of pants (don't know what happened, just noticed on one pant leg the hem was gone). FCC took care of that and many other shirts and pants. They came back to me two days later with EXCELLENCE. Clean, crisp, wrinkle-free and shirts were even hung elegantly on the hangers. I have to go a little out of my way to get here and pay a bit more, but it's WELL WORTH IT. read more

These folks are always efficient and my clothes come back in good condition. If you want extras you need to ask about them and engage to get answers otherwise it's a pretty standard in and out operation. But- if you ask, they are friendly and will help you with what they can. My boyfriend does Brazilian jiu-jitsu and needed to have patches sewn on to his brand new, never worn or washed, gi. The sewing itself was great but the entire top back half of the gi was dyed a pink/red color as if something bled or was spilled onto it. It shouldn't have been washed so not sure how this happened. At time of pick up we showed the lady at the counter and she insisted we brought it that way and did not budge or try to help in any way, basically just "no, go away". Will not return. read more

This is definitely one of the worst dry cleaners in the area (both in quality of products delivered and one of the WORST staff ever). I dropped three designer items and one with a stain and specifically pointed out the stain and told them if they can't do it, let me know now. They took it and when I received the items back, I noticed the shirt still had the stain on it. I told him I'd like him to redo that since that's the primary reason I'm in there. He argues with me about redoing it and finally caves after I told him that I paid for that and I should receive what I paid for. After I come to pick up the items the second time, I notice the stain is still there and I asked him to redo the shirt again because at this point (the stain seemed less but still there) it's obvious they don't care about delivering on their promises. He goes "it won't help" and I say "well since I paid for it, you should still try again." He reluctantly takes the shirt and is like "well it won't do anything." At this point, he's obviously being extremely rude so I tell him, "if you lack the capacity then just say that. Other cleaners have been able to do it" and he admits "yes we do for that shirt" and I asked for the shirt back and walked out. Once I walk out, I realize since I didn't get what I asked for, I should get my money back and I go and tell him to either redo the shirt or give me my money back. He refuses. Thankfully, an investigation by CC company allowed me to get the money back. AVOID THIS AWFUL AND RUDE CLEANER WHO LACK ABILITY TO DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY WILL. read more

I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to do so because of the outstanding service I've always received here. This location was close to my work so it was convenient for me and the prices are reasonable. Sure there are cheaper places, but the quality here is worth it. Only once I had an issue with two shirts coming back wrinkled and they gladly redid them for free. They always have a great attitude and show happiness to their customers. My office moved so I've been in the process of trying to find different place that is closer for me but after reading all the reviews of places in the area it seems like most places have lots of issues. I've pretty much given up on trying to find another place and will just make the extended drive to come back here when I need clothes done because I can't find any other place with good reviews that I can trust! Because of this, I felt it was appropriate to leave this positive review so that if others are in this area and are looking for a place, they know this one is the place to go! read more

Last week I went here because it was conveniently located where I was running my errands. I should've never considered walking in here and getting alterations, because I have never ever received this type of unprofessional service. When I came in, I specified I only wanted the length taken off my dress because it was too long. She insisted that I also take in the straps because in her words "it looked ugly and tacky" - I explained to her that it was adjustable straps & all it took was her helping me adjust it so it didn't look tacky, but she said that it was better if she just adjusted it herself ?!? So with that said she quoted me 45 for ADJUSTABLE straps and 65 to take an inch off my dress. I walked out with my dress and 2.5 mi later I went to this sweet lady who charged me 55 for the length and laughed at the fact that the lady at this location wanted to adjust my adjustable straps. I understand you are running a business, but there's a big difference when you're all about making money and not building lasting impressions. In response to your reply - I am more than sure that I am not contacting or writing a review for the wrong place. It's the only alterations place I yelped because I happen to be in the area. Poor Service. First time customer. Dropped my clothes off @~6pm on Fri for a Tue pickup, but was not asked about starch content. Called next morning to place a request for heavy starch, but was told it might be too late. Picked up on Tue and found that I was charged an additional $3+ (i.e., a total of ~$4.95 for 1 of my 13 buttoned shirts) and still NO STARCH!!! ??? After confirming that I had dropped off my clothes at the correct cleaners, Fair Center Cleaners agreed to hem up the dress lining for free, so that it wasn't hanging out at the bottom anymore. The fit isn't quite the same as when I took it in, but it's wearable. They said it's an issue with the dress manufacturer and that I should handwash the dress instead. read more
