Fast service, excellent cleaning job,! I will continue to use Zips even though it's farther away than a local cleaners.

Can I give this place less than 1 star? We have been going to the place for about 3 years because it's in our neighborhood. We have brought clothes and other items to be laundered and dry cleaned. Almost every time I come, this employee 'Esmerelda' rejects some piece of clothing. She has rejected dresses, pants, shirts. Sometimes giving reasons, sometime correcting me about the clothes, or the stain and sometimes just saying they won't clean an item. We have even resorted to washing the shirts before laundering them at this place because of her comments. Today was the last straw, I brought in a Zara dress my wife wore once. Esmeralda rejected "it because the tag doesn't say how to clean it. I pointed out the several tags and QR code from Zara that gave information about how to clean the garment. She refused to take the garment. Because this person has been a problem with me I asked my wife to come out of the car to talk to her and I called the owner. While the owner agreed that that type of garment could be problematic, he agreed that her response wasn't the way to keep customers. I agree they lost our family's business today. While I appreciate the owner taking the call, I am going to choose to not patronize this franchise. We took our other clothes back and will take our business elsewhere while she is still there. I am not sure what her problem is, but I spend too much money on dry cleaning and the prices of everything is too high to deal to pay to deal with rude people. read more

I am very impressed with this establishment. They do an excellent job cleaning the clothes, use the amount of starch you request on shirts, and the price is excellent! The service is even better! And the turnaround time is amazing. Kudos to a well run organization! read more

let me rephrase my review. my clothes went to the cleaner with no stains. Upon bringing my clothes back to show them I was told it was my fault that my clothes. changed color in their possession and there was nothing they would do about it. read more

This place should receive less than a 1 star. I paid for a wash and fold which resulted in my expensive clothes being fully discolored. I emailed the place to which they said to bring it back. I brought them back and to my face they said they could not do anything about this problem. The business said it was my fault for my clothes being damaged even though that was not the servie I was expecting. Do not trust this horrible place. The service was terrible. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone unless you want your clothes damaged. read more

I think someone wore my clothes. It smelled when I picked it up to the point it was making me nauseous in the car. I could also smell it in a different room. I know it wasn't me because after wearing it one evening, I slept with it hanging in my room for a week with no issues. read more

My original zips got burned down due to a large fire. So I am trying find a new place. . This place is farther away but I really like the price and quick turn around. The zips is located in a strip mall so off street parking is available and plentiful. I ended up choosing a location closer to me. Overall I really like zips Bc of their pricing structure and quick turn around. read more

I've been here about 3-4 times, and I can say it's a pretty popular place...despite the negative reviews. So far I haven't had any problems with their services. The dry cleaning services are one of the most affordable options I have ever seen. It's about $2.49 per garment. They get the job down quickly, as I dropped off 8 garments for dry cleaning and came back the next day with my clothes ready to go. Customer service needs some work, as the workers can come off as rude or abrupt. Also, on one of my visits the lady working the cashier was putting garments in a bag and then threw the bag to the back...the customers (including me looked bewildered). So, maybe wait until the customers leave to throw their clothes without care to the back? All in all, affordable dry cleaning--and haven't had any problems yet. read more

The services at this dry cleaners were terrible. I left my polo shirt for dry cleaning and my shirt was ruined with a yellow stain from the staff. When I brought it to the staffs attention, they tried to clean it and weren't able to remove it. When contacted by the owner, he said this was worn out due to overuse. I've worn the shirt three times since purchasing it. He refused to provide me the value of my shirt as a concession for what his staff did. His demeanor was rude and very disrespectful. I miss the $1.99 prices and the care they would give to my clothes. I only bring clothes that are not too expensive as I am afraid they might damage the other ones. I've had to bring a couple of items back since they didn't take out the stain and sometime last year, they cleaned a dress but when I picked it up, it had a weird smell to it. I really hope I don't come across any of the horror stories I am reading here. I spend a lot of money on dry cleaning. Over the years probably 4 to 500 each year. And I've had pretty good service with zips, sometimes an item or two would be lost, but people make mistakes and that's OK. I took my north face windbreaker to get the exterior zipper replaced and they charged me $26. They replaced the zipper but then the pull was broken during the pressing which I noticed upon examining the jacket. I brought it back inside and asked that it be replaced. Nothing happened for a month until I called to check on the status. The manager said to me " if" it was true he would fix it. You can imagine my surprise and fury at picking up the jacket and finding they had put my old broken zipper back in the jacket. The only decent thing they did was return my money. Lazy, sloppy, zero follow through, shoddy work, no common sense and for a measly $26 they lost $1000. read more

I decided to try out Zips because I received a coupon for $5 off a comforter cleaning. I had a bunch of other clothes that needed to be cleaned as well, so I dropped everything off in the afternoon and was told it would all be ready by 5 pm the next day. I didn't have a chance to get back by the next day, but I was able to pick up the day after (so they had 2 days in total) to get everything done. The reason I'm giving them 1 star is because they lost (?!) one of the items and because the comforter wasn't clean (it was ready to go, but there were still dust marks/ dirt around the edge). The clerk said to "come back tomorrow" and see if they had found it. He tried to contact a manager at my request but couldn't get a hold of either one. After arguing with him for 15 mins, he finally gave me a refund for the comforter (no way am I leaving it there for them to lose) and the manager's number. He also told me that if they haven't found the item in a week (again, ?!?!) that they'll pay to replace it. Maybe it was just me, but through what the clerk said, I have the impression that they lose items quite a bit. FYI, as I post this, its been 5 days since the great-dry-cleaning debacle. No one from Zips has contacted me. Totally disappointing and hugely frustrating. I will never use Zips again. read more

Hmm... I've been going here for years, and never had an issue. The staff is polite, and work as quickly as they can. In fact, I live in Burke, VA and still come here. Obviously, I often forget that I have dropped items off, but by the time I remember my clothes are still there and ready. The cash thing... yes, they only accept cash. I had an interview and at the last minute thought I didn't know what I wanted to wear....pants suit or skirt suit and then decided to spill salsa on the pants of my suit 2 days before....genius. Therefore I needed and wanted a inexpensive cleaners that would clean the salsa stains and I remember seeing those Zips commercials advertising 1.99 cleaning. I'd never been to one before and thought hmmm let me give this a try. So I first did some research online to find out a bit more about Zips and went after work the day after the "incident" with the salsa to drop my pants off. The store was smallish and clean. I was the only customer in there at the time. I also knew from my research that they only accept cash....its 2010 and I'm still not sure why some businesses only accept cash but anyway I was already prepared for that. However, they do have a convienient ATM in the store in case you don't know about their cash only policy. The workers seemed pleasant so I was ready to hand over my pants so they could be cleaned and salsa free. Asked if they would be ready after 5pm the next day and the woman said yes of course so i thought hey this is going to be a good experience. Soooo the next day I go to pick up my pants and yes they were all ready when I got there waiting for mommy to take them home. I gave them a quick glance when I got to the car to look at how lovely and clean they were.....FAIL....there was still a slight remnant of the stain. Now this wasn't some huge stain involviing wine or anything, I just spilled salsa out the jar on myself, and the pants are black. I was thinking this would be an easy clean. Guess not. I didn't have time to take them back so I kept them (and ended up not wearing them to the interview). After taking them out and inspecting them at home I saw how much of the stain was still left, even though it was light I could still see it so I just wiped it off with water and a towel myself. The pants also didn't have that fresh smell like they had just been cleaned BUT I could tell they had been pressed :/. They ruined a couple of my wife's items and the staff acknowledged they've been having problems. Getting someone above them though was nearly impossible until the district manager or someone declined to consider the possibility that they made any type of mistake. ZIPS always does a great job and you can't beat $1.99 for dry cleaning! I dry clean almost all of my work clothes, so I appreciate how reasonably priced this place is. The workers are always friendly and they get you in and out of there very quickly. I also love that if you drop off your things by 9am then they are ready by 5pm. They only take cash, so you have to remember that or use their ATM, but I use cash a lot, so it's never an issue for me. This place is about 15 minutes for my house and I probably pass 20 dry cleaners on the way, but this is still my go to place! read more

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. They lose garments, don't respond to complaints, and do not compensating you for items that they lost.. I dropped off several items and then when I picked them up I noticed that a suit was missing. I called their business and they acknowledged initially after reviewing the video that one of my garments was missing but then said I would need to talk to the manager. They said that he would call the following business day. Unfortunately, the manager never called. I called back daily for a few more days before I finally got the manager on the phone and he said it "wasn't possible for them to lose clothes in their system" and he would not compensate me for it. We have never had an issue, and the people handling our transactions have all been respectful and pleasant. I've always had bad luck with dry cleaners unless its super pricy but i thought i would give this place a try. Another bad experience. i ve taken dresses, a duvet, shirts and pants to them and almost everything had to be done over with me pointing out spots, stains and smells. Was in the area a few times, and took a chance on this Fairfax location. In a small, awkwardly configured plaza; a bit challenging to get to. 1st visit: They did not really clean my clothes even after pointing out spots and odor areas. They make attempts to clean clothes over which removed some of the issues. 2nd time: Issue with cleaning newly purchased white business shirts (i.e., collars, cuffs, and sleeves). Had to have a portion of them recleaned. Also, lost a piece of clothing and would not take responsibility for it. Not worth giving your business too. Negative -5 stars. read more

A+ to ZIPS for consistent, effective service. I've been coming here on and off since it opened. Consistently good customer service, and the store is well maintained. CASH only, which is slightly annoying. On my daily commute, I drive by a different cleaner, which also claims to be $1.99 per item - oh, except for crazy things like dresses, of any material - those are $3.49. I save a good deal of money by driving further to ZIPS, and when my schedule allows, I make the extra trip. read more

No one is perfect, but satisfaction is guaranteed... I left my favorite wool top coat with Zips. I needed to repair two buttons as well as that God Awful Stench that accumulated from months of bad decisions. They told me to pick up my coat 3 days later. I picked up my coat today and the buttons were sewed on firmly with my coat actually smelling like fresh dry cleaning. I did however notice a white stain and I brought it to the attention of the person working the counter. He then notified the manager on duty who I think was named Kyo or Ko. After a brief discussion, he grabbed my coat and 2 minutes later, the stain was removed. I can't imagine how hard it must be to have thousands of items with various stains from random "sources" cleaned with no questions asked. I paid $1.99 to clean my coat + $2 to repair two buttons on thick wool and overall, I can say with confidence that I'm very satisfied with the results. 4/5 Stars because no one is perfect... + an extra star for immediately fixing the problem and resolving yet another random white stain on a wool garment outside of Washington, DC... read more

Dropped off clothes, 31 items, not the best customer service. Picked up clothes, still not the best customer service. Came to hang up clothes.... NOT WASHED... stains still exactly where they were, smelly, deodorant marks still on the insides of dress shirts and dresses. Clear indication of not washed item. What did they do? Just ironed my dirty clothes? Gross. Im completely agitated. Makes a lot of sense why the fee for the service is where it is at. read more
