Weeks later my system leaks and I called them back to look at it. The man entered my house (no greeting) angry and raising his voice telling me he installed the dampers correct, extremely defensive and angry before I could even say a word. When I called the office to report his behavior, they told me "Chris is just an excited man" and justified his demeanor. They told me this was expected and should have known that my ducts weren't insulated. They never warned me about the downside to adding dampers to my system. They were extremely rude. Don't give them your time or money.

I called Pride Mechanical on Sunday and left a message on their non emergency voicemail. They called me first thing Monday morning, and we set up an appointment for a timeframe that worked with my fairly busy schedule for that day. Really convenient. Got a text saying they were on their way about 5 minutes after the 3 hour appointment window started. They were at my home in like 20 minutes after receiving the text. The inside of my house was kind of messy, but they didn't even need to come inside. They were able to go straight to my units and start their diagnostics less than 3 minutes after arriving at my home. Within about 15 minutes they had successfully figured out and fixed the problem. I could not have asked for a better experience. I was very grateful and impressed. The technicians were polite, friendly (and not aggressively friendly if you know what I mean), and did a great job discussing my HVAC system and answering my questions without getting overly technical or insulting my intelligence by being overly basic. As AC repair experiences go, this was the best I've ever had. The speed of service and professionalism was first class all the way.

I had Norfolk Air Htg & Cooling come out for an assessment / quote for some minor work. Turns out…read morethey are insanely expensive compared to some other licensed HVAC companies. $89 just for the site visit, which the tech said could NOT BE APPLIED to their cost of work. Their quotes were ridiculous. $358 to clear 2 condensate lines. $287 to add a condensate drain joist strap. $358 to replace 6 feet of insulated flex duct. All very accessible. Another company came out the next day and INCLUDED in their $99 site visit they cleaned out both condensate lines. Their quote for the remaining work was less than half what Norfolk Air Htg Cooling quoted, and the technician was far more friendly and explained things very well (I'm an engineer in 4 fields). The only positive was that Norfolk Air Htg & Cooling was very responsive -- same-day for a non-emergency. (but the other company was also just as responsive)

I used to company to install a heating and air conditioning system in my attic a few years ago, I don't know the precise amount of years but they installed a system in my attic and never installed a safety cut off valve in the system. So when the condensation started leaking out the unit because the system was clogged the water has no where to go but leak out of the pan and onto the wood floor in my attic!! Luckily I noticed it before it started to leak through the ceiling so the damage was somewhat minimal to damaging the wood underneath the system! My wife and I have reached out to them and only to respond that the damage is not their fault! How can you deny any wrongdoing if you didn't install all the necessary components when the system was installed?.. my wife and I still have not had any attempt to try to fix this problem!. I would recommend you stay away from this business, and if you decide to after my warning please do a thorough check after their work is completed and if you're not savvy with the heating and air conditioning systems I would recommend you hire someone with experience to inspect their work so you don't have to deal with the problem I encountered... Brian walked in, took a look at the unit and said he knew EXACTLY what the problem was five seconds later. He saw the float valve was popped up on the drainage tube (which I didn't even realize was something I needed to be on the lookout for ). He cleaned out the drainage tube and the rest of the unit for good measure, and I appreciated both the quick assessment, resolution, and education he gave me on maintenance during that visit. I signed up for their twice-yearly maintenance package that day, and I've been a happy subscriber ever since. Jorge has come to do the maintenance the last couple of times, and he is thorough and equally as knowledgeable as Brian. When he had a concern about the air flow coming out of one of the vents, he was quick to volunteer to crawl under the house to take a look at the duct work, and I really appreciated his honest assessment of it. The insulation is starting to fall down and wear out, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear that I could save up a few more years before the ductwork would probably actually need full replacing, and he gave me a ballpark figure based on the square footage and number of vents in my house, so I can plan accordingly. Much appreciated!! A company that employs people with such knowledge and integrity is a company that will have my business for decades to come. Their twice-yearly maintenance for heating and air conditioning is easily one of the best (and surprisingly affordable!) investments I make each year. Worth every penny!
