The paperwork that I gave to staff at the county treasurer's office included the bill of sale and title; but also, an application for Motor Vehicle Title & Registration. This document listed the South Dakota Title Number, amount of tax that I would pay at the treasurer's office, and the title fee. This is the first time that I knew the exact amount before the transaction of the title. Also included in the paperwork (because the State of Texas requires this) was a Vehicle Inspection Report. And not once during the title registration/transfer process was I requested to provide additional information/documentation.
