My brand new 2023 Toyota Tundra had 4 warning lights appear on the dash on a drive cross country. We stopped at the nearest Toyota service center (Sioux Falls, SD). The technician, Tyler J received the vehicle at 1230pm and we didn't hear back from him with any information as to what we could expect for this emergency delay. We had no vehicle, no information and no loaner car after repeated phone calls from 1230pm to closing that day. We had no choice but to wait until the next business day. We texted and called Tyler, with no responses, so we borrowed a car and drove to the dealer to discover that Tyler J. Wasn't even working that day and had not given our vehicle management to anyone else. Extremely disappointing and quite a mess of logistics for us, to say to least. The only reason I am giving this 3 stars is because there was another technician, the 'other' Tyler, who answered all of our questions even though Toyota was unable to solve this issue. read more

Worst customer service in my experience. Tried to do a lease buyout - no one will call back. Even went to the dealership. Receptionist took my contact info and said someone will reach out, still no response. Also, I found out dealership charges about $200 for paperwork. Go to the dealership in Sioux City, IA. Saw dubious reviews in various places so was leery, spoke with Jeff who was nice, but he insisted that if the car was Certified, there would be no issues, including any body damage. I insisted that he do a personal exam of the car with me on the phone, before I drove 6 hours, and low and behold there was a significant scrape/dent and a dime sized chip. I am still trying to come to grips with the reality that I was sold a used vehicle (by Marty) in 2022 that cost me an additional $7500.00 the first year alone in repairs. I spent hours of my time bringing my Land Cruiser in for repair after repair after repair. It just kept needing more and more trips to the shop and more and more parts needed replacing. Now I have taken it to a separate mechanic and the a/c compressor is out. This would be an additional $2000.00 to repair bringing the repair costs of this vehicle to $9500.00 over a period of 2 years. I am $42000.00 in to a used suv and the trade in value is only $16000.00. If I traded it in that would be a $26000.00 loss on a vehicle I have only had for 2 years and put 13,000 miles on. Billion Auto, and their salesmen will rob you blind and then will turn around and tell you they "can't afford to lose this job because my wife has cancer" They blatantly lied to me and sold this financially destroying train wreck . I am still trying to cope with this absolute disaster and am wondering how I will recover from this mess. Billion Auto Toyota does not care about the people they hurt and the damage they leave behind with their pointed and deliberate dishonesty. I am highly surprised people have not sued them for the blatant fleecing they commit when selling cars. Now it's looking like I may have to buy a new vehicle 2 years after I purchased my suv from Billion. They would take every last dime from you if they could. Please learn from my mistake and do not purchase a vehicle here, if something goes wrong you will pay through the nose for it. Lastly their valpro package they sell you won't transfer and you will never be able to use it. Once you try to make a claim you won't get help from them to do it only confusion and you will have to talk to a manager. Trying to talk to anyone who will put forth an honest effort to keep a return customer is futile. This dealership, and the owner Dave Billion really don't give a crap if you ever come back. They feel they sell so many cars that losing a customer here or there doesn't matter, but business 101 teaches that's far from the truth. Billions low ratings and word of mouth of how dishonest they are will soon catch up. Maybe Dave Billion has all the money he wants, and if that's the case, there are many other car lots we can take our business too, and it's evident that many other buyers are doing the same. The number of people who have decided to never go back to Billion is growing fast. I will never step foot on any of Billions corrupt lots. I'd be very careful buying from a dealership that doesn't care about return customers or supporting new customers. Which of the two cookie cutter responses will they use? Either way they believe it's your responsibility to call them. This was my first buying experience with Toyota. Daniel my salesman worked hard to get me in a vehicle with the options that I wanted with a price that I could afford. The finance department was easy to work with as well. I had to go back for some work and what I thought was going to take a few days took only a matter of hours. I recently bought a hybrid from Billion Toyota Sioux Falls. Getting the car was a bit frustrating. I was given updates on when it would arrive which was GREAT buuut...the 1st arrival date came and went. The 2nd came and finally arrived two weeks AFTER set date. That in itself is not the issue. I am a business owner. I completely understand that you cannot control WHEN something will arrive. There are too many factors that are involved and too many other businesses before it gets to the final one. The sales person helping me will not be named because he was very nice and did what he could to make sure it got here according to WHEN he was told. The issue is....almost immediately I heard a clunk so contacted them to see when they could take a look at it. It is only a few weeks old. When I asked if they have a loaner vehicle for me to use while it is being looked at they said "No but we can take you home in our shuttle." As I explained that I am a business owner and I had several things that I do during any given day to run that business I NEED a vehicle. "Sorry ma'am. We don't give them out anymore because of the lack of vehicles." So I contacted the salesperson that helped me order the car to begin with and he found me a vehicle to use. Thank you for that. THEN comes the morning I drop off my car to be looked at and pick up the loaner. The loaner...in my opinion...was filthy. As a business owner I expect the vehicle I drive to be clean at all times because it represents not only who I am but also my business. I want people to know I care not only about them but also my business. I am by far the least vain person there can be but I do care about how I represent myself AND my business. The loaner car was full of hand prints and spots on ALL the windows and had mud and dirt all around it. It looked as if it had not been washed in a while and was driven on a muddy dirt road. When I asked if they would please run it through the car wash and clean it first they said they don't/won't do that but they would clean the windows for me so there wasn't a hand print in front of my face. I was dumb founded that they would care so little about their customers. I then tried to call/text the salesperson that got me the loaner as he was not there with us. I asked if they would reimburse me for a car wash. His response short and simplified...I will just pick up the loaner and you can be without a car. Really? So instead of just cleaning the vehicle like you should do anyway, you are going to basically tell the customer "F..k you" and pick it up so they now CAN"T go to their appointments or take care of their other responsibilities? Needless to say....I will be trying my hardest to find someone else to take my car to for warranty issues because something tells me they will not be able to figure out what the clunking sound is. AND they don't seem to care about their customers or how they represent themselves. The service/caring about their customers was/is so subpar and disappointing. read more

Also, I'm confident that the other advisers are very much valued, too (I'm sorry that I don't know any of the mechanics' names here), from routine oil changes to major engine repairs. I was visiting from out of town when my headlight went out. I replaced the bulb myself but couldn't quite get the passenger side bulb to lock in place. Every Toyota dealer I've been to happily adjusted the light under the hood on the spot for free whenever I've had to do this in the past. But this place didn't even try that; instead they told me that they needed to remove the entire front bumper just to replace the light bulb. Meanwhile the guys at O'Reilly Auto down the street from the place fixed it for free and it took less than five minutes. I will never come to Billion again. Too bad they don't have better staff in the service dept. read more

Easily the worst service in the region. The constant attempt at upsell can be annoying, (no, I don't need my power steering fluid flushed) more troubling is the flat-out incompetence of this service department. The good news is usually Toyota's don't need a lot of service. Get your oil changes elsewhere, I recommend bringing warranty enhancements and recalls elsewhere if possible. Problem is, there are not many choices with only the one Toyota dealer in town. Billion has a lock on this town and isn't competitive for new-car sales pricing either. I can recommend using the Toyota dealers in Aberdeen, Sioux City, Rapid City & Spirit Lake... I've even used Wilson Toyota in Ames, Iowa and been far more satisfied then the clowns here at Billion. My latest experience was with a recall and in the process of performing the recall they broke something else on the passenger door and weren't going to tell me about it. I noticed the broken piece laying in the door tray and wondered WTF? Upon further inspection I noticed black scuff marks all over the interior of my car, like they had turned monkeys loose inside my vehicle. The service writer's comment was that it was a fairly extensive recall. My comment was I don't care if they replaced the engine, seats and transmission, they could clean up the mess they made before handing the car over to me. They are supposedly ordering the part now, but I have my doubts. I'm sure I will have to call and raise more hell to get them to fix what they broke. There is also another recall on this vehicle for seat belt retractors. I asked them if they would do them both at the same time but they apparently aren't capable of that sort of compound thinking and action. I have now decided I do not need them to fix the seat belt retractors, it's just not that important. In medicine there's the Hippocratic Oath, "First, Do no harm". Think long and hard before you leave your vehicle with these monkey clowns. Next time you're on a road trip try something different and get that recall, or oil change done at a different dealer in a different city...? But maybe check reviews first! Bait and Switch and extreme high pressure sales tactics!! My significant other received a call about a vehicle - having told the salesman his price limitations of $10,000. He gets there to check out the vehicle.....it's $7000 more than his price point and they are using hard sales techniques to pressure him into buying more vehicle than is wanted. He had a loan for that amount already secured and they ran a credit check anyway to get him approved for more that we wanted to pay and kept trying to get him to pay more. Walked away from the deal. They kept pushing and arguing that paying $5000 down would only make the vehicle $10000 and within his price range. Nowhere was it stated that we would put $5000 down, it was just assumed. We've been disappointed numerous times by a couple Billion dealerships due to high pressure tactics, argumentative sales people and sales managers and will not be buying from their locations. read more

All you get is lies,lies,lies with this shady company.To start off lying Larry Mullinix lied about where a vehicle was coming from told us it had to be built yet it was at another dealer and about the price also about this protection package that it was on the paint,wheels, windshield.We had it check and they said there was nothing on the paint,wheels or windshield.Charge you 3k over msrp for this so called protection package,flashing brake light that they dont put on your vehicle but tell you it is on there (scam).Took over a month to get the title but yet there signature was done the day we bought the vehicle?? Hmmm thats called fraud saying you signed it that day if you didnt really have it in your possession and signed it at a later date seeing you told us you didnt have the title and would have to mail it to us.Told us they would mail it no longer then 2 weeks yet it was over a month and now we have to pay a late fee seeing they said we waited over a month to register it and not right away seeing they lied on the date on all there paperwork showing we got the title that day. read more

I will never buy, or take my car for repairs, anywhere near a Billion Toyota. I enjoy my Sienna vans- but I will never take them in to this place ever again. I bought my 2008 Toyota Sienna for $10,000 less than a year ago- and it already has over $3500 in repairs needed (rack and pinion, two rear coils, and the front passenger proximity sensor). I asked how they could have missed these things, and they said "well it's just normal wear and tear"! My wife has driven it only in town- hardly ever on the highway! I took it to J and M Transmission and they gave me a quote of only $2600- and mentioned that the previous owner (Billion) had PAINTED OVER the sensor! When the paint started to wear off, the sensor has started malfunctioning. This resulted in my wife almost getting in an accident while activating the cruise control (she almost crashed as the van accelerated towards another car!). Check for honesty and integrity at another dealership- especially for repairs. This place is not worth the headache. Update: I was contacted by Mike from their service dept. He mentioned that he would be willing to work with me on getting a better price- I complained while I was at the service center and they said that's what the price was and moved on to rip of their next victim. I said that I already had the vehicle into another place and I am not going to have them touch my vehicle again. Also, Laura, if you are concerned about my safety for real- get your service team together and tell them that they need to do a recall...contact me when you have your ducks more in a row and are on the same page as your service techs. read more

I have not been contacted in any way, which is pretty much what I expected was going to happen. I guess they did tell me not to hesitate to call. I mean it didn't work all the other times I tried to contact them but maybe one of these times someone will finally give me a decent response. To me, this is proof they don't care about their customers. In addition to not purchasing cars there anymore, I have found elsewhere to have my car serviced. He was able to get my car in right away even when I showed up a little early. He also gave me a high five on being back on terra firma after my long flight. I have 2 Toyota's, both used. I tried to buy my last tundra from them, but they were $3,000 higher for a truck with less options than the one I bought, same year, similar package, almost identical miles. However, the service department has always treated me well and the synthetic oil changes are very reasonable. They recently switched from an express oil change to appointment only, so call at least a week ahead of time if you want to get in. read more

So I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. I explained I just installed new wheels and take wry good care of my truck and asked if they could do the work without causing any damage? I asked because I use to run service at a few dealerships and they looked overbooked and under staffed. They swore no problem. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle they had advised me they had damaged all four wheels and had to order new replacements $2,000.00 cost. They apologized and said they would call me when they arrived. I still had to pay for my oil change which took hours longer then they had promised five hours total. The cause of the damage the man performing the service just didn't care what he did to my vehicle. The service writer tried making up an excuse about the machine a hunter tire balancer which I was very familiar with. I said " just stop right there don't even bother, I use to not only work with these machines but I repaired them as well...so let's just leave it as you will call me when I may pick up my wheels and have them installed properly by another dealership. Don't go to a Billion dealer to purchase a vehicle that experience resulted in me having to serve legal paperwork and record all interactions with the sales staff and finance staff once they tried changing the terms of the sale and bullying me into paying $6,000.00 extra after they sold my trade in and I had possession of my new vehicle because they made a mistake in financing in the rush to sell me a vehicle and take advantage of me. But as always with dishonest people they try to prey on the uneducated and easily manipulated. Neither of which I am. They were forced to pay the sales tax on the trade in and take the loss on the deal they thought they were sticking me with when they forgot to roll the costs into the new vehicle price. Just because Billion has a monopoly on dealerships in the area doesn't mean you have to buy from them. Email dealerships in MN, IA and you can haggle via email once you know what you want to buy and each time show the next dealer the price from the last until you get your reasonable price. Then buy from the dealer you can trust and shows you respect! read more

Make sure you have your Toyota vehicles fully inspected top to bottom, especially Toyota Tundra's before your warranty is up. Our vehicle is 5 years old, has been well maintained and has rust coming through the bottom of the box creating holes in the bed. If you're out of warranty Toyota or should I say the Billion Toyota store manager will not cover their product & factory defects when there's only 50K miles on the truck. We've given Robert LaBarge very good business as well as Billion Toyota but as long as the owners and managers have their nice houses, excessive money why worry about the customers that got you there! Billion Auto owns all of Sioux Falls, SD but I will never give these ruthless, lying, uncaring people another dime and I know one person doesn't matter but I hope what comes around goes around. I wanted him to get exposed to working with a dealership. We couldn't have picked a better dealership to teach him how disrespectful and dishonest the experience could be. The salesman was OK but didn't have the experience and had difficulty getting help from his peers The worst was dealing with the self entitled arrogant finance manager who took personal jabs at us when we attempted to get a better price and interest rate. Both my son and I have outstanding credit ratings and could afford to buy the truck outright. The finance manager ensured we will never consider buying from Billions even if means traveling and paying more somewhere else. They have completely lost touch with what it means to treat customers with respect. They are to big and don't care about people, that's obvious when you disrespect your employees in front of customers. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with Billions. read more

I come from a family that's only been driving Toyotas for decades. My parents had a great relationship with the Toyota dealer's service department in our hometown. When I moved here just after college, a friend told me to save money by avoiding dealer service and recommended some independent shop. Well, after having to get the same thing fixed three times, getting stuck on the highway because of it, I've learned my lesson and I stick with Billion. Genuine parts from authorized service providers only from now on. Professional, patient, thorough. First of all, let me state that I am female. I believe things would have been taken more seriously had my husband taken the car in. For over a year now, I have been repeatedly bringing in my '09 Toyota Land Cruiser for squealing brakes. Every time I am told that they have checked everything and the squealing noise is coming from the brakes and is normal. However, upon another noise being added to the squealing, my husband did bring the car in this week. This is what we were told by our service adviser: "In a nut shell, the grinding and squealing issues have originated because of corrosion behind the wheel bearings and backing plates in rear of vehicle, causing backing plates to push against rotors. The repair will require new wheel bearings, new backing plates, along with various seals, retainers and O-rings and a rear differential service. Total for parts, labor and tax quoted at $2788. Parts would need to be ordered." So this "normal noise" I was hearing was not so normal. Now things have corroded to a point that the brakes are ruined, we need new wheel bearings, etc... amounting to almost $3000. Had things been taken seriously beginning over a year ago, the faulty parts could have been replaced before causing so much damage. Billion is claiming that they are not responsible for this. If a loaner car were available and I could get around Sioux Falls I would always get service done at this location. After reading the reviews, it seems that I am not the only one that seems to have issues with this dealer. I contacted the dealership over a week ago to ask what they had in stock of the vehicle that I wanted. Since their website didn't list any details or prices for said vehicle. I was contacted on a monday and I was told all I had to do was come down and take a look. When I said I didn't have time to just come down, and I just wanted details and pricing to see if it was worth my time. I was told some one would be in touch with me later in the day. No one contacted me until saturday. And when they did the salesmen was very rude and lazy! He did nothing but talk down to me, belittle me and never answered any of my questions. He also told me to check his website if I wanted details on the cars he had in stock. Where do you think I started dumbass?? Because of this treatment, I will never do business with any of your dealerships again. Recall Rip Off Attempt! Took my RAV-4 in for a wiper recall. Was told my water pump was leaking - and I needed to replace it - Cost $425.00. Had the water pump checked out by two qualified, independent service providers who found absolutely nothing wrong. So I think it's fairly clear that Billion is using these recalls as an opportunity to rip off its loyal customers. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP! read more

I went in today to have my tires checked and headlight went out. The part was $8. I paid $208 most of it was labor. For a $8 part. I will not be going back and I was a valued customer of them. This service department is terrible. I would agree with Jake it is the worst in the region. I had a recall like issue with both of my Toyota vehicles and they were terrible in the handling of it. I have bought 7 Toyotas from this dealership yet the service department only cared about how much money they could get from us. My vehicle should have been fixed under the recall like issue but Billion would not do anything except charge me. We took the time to contact another Toyota service dealership and they have agreed to fix it because it is the right thing to do, they actually cared about my families safety. Please consider getting a second opinion from another Toyota dealership, especially if it involves a possible recall situation, Billion only cares about filling their pockets with your money, they do not care about anything else. read more

Made an appointment a week early for an oil change. Upon checking in asked them to also check the blinker which kept disconnecting. Didn't seem like it would be an issue. My son and I checked in with them after waiting over an hour. They said they were ordering a part for the blinker, giving the impression then we'd be set to go. I didn't plan for my whole afternoon to be gone. The vehicle was finished after two hours. While I'm grateful they fixed the blinker on the spot and it was under warranty so there was no cost, we would have appreciated knowing they were doing so and how long it would take. Communication is key, as I didn't expect or prepare to be there two hours. I'd be hesitant to go back again for an oil change even without an add-on issue. It's too slow of service. read more

I went in for a covered oil change (Toyota Care) and was told by Rod that they only cover tire rotations at 10K miles. I told him I went to Sioux City and Omaha for 5k oil changes and got the work done free and this made him angry. I could see the look in his face, and I said" I could go somewhere else" and "do you want my business?" He said "Yes and I apologize." So I made the mistake of trusting him and when the car was "done" no oil change had happened and he claimed I insulted him and never to come back. Beware of this place -- if he can lie to your face about an oil change, there's more that he can lie about (bigger stuff). You've been warned. read more

I don't know if this is a sales tactic or if he was just rude...Not a pleasant experience at all and wasted a lot of my time showing me fictional numbers that we both knew were made up. If you are looking for people that know how to do business and that value their customers then keep looking! DO NOT GIVE THIS DEALERSHIP YOUR BUSINESS! Basically what happened was we agreed to purchase a vehicle and have it delivered across the state to us. We were in Sioux Falls when the vehicle was supposed to be delivered to Billion, but it ended up coming in later than they kept telling us. We planned to just swap out our vehicle while we were in town. After we got the news that the vehicle would not be there before we were leaving town, my spouse and I went in the establishment to talk to the salesperson. We agreed to have the vehicle delivered to us for a $300 fee and asked the salesman to add in the tax and license fees. He agreed to those terms and even stated that it was a good idea because we were getting 0% financing. Once the vehicle was delivered, the delivery guy just basically had us sign where we were supposed to sign and went on his way. Since he just delivers the vehicle, he knows nothing of the deal therefore did not go over the paperwork to make sure everything looked correct. After several weeks with no check from Toyota to pay for the taxes and license, we finally contacted them to see what was going on. It turns out that the taxes and licenses were not included into the loan and it was too late to do anything about it. After a few attempts to contact the salesperson with no return calls, I finally contacted the sales manager and notified him of the situation. He said he would look into what could be done which turned out to be nothing. He did at least get the original salesperson to finally call me. The salesperson claimed he had no recollection of the conversation but he was the one that had stated it was a good idea and even got the figures for us on how much they would be when we originally agreed upon having them included with the loan. Needless to say, the dealership took no ownership on their part that a mistake had been made and did not really offer to compensate us in any way. Now we are out another $500 at one time that we had not planned for just because a mistake was made.
