World Class Tailor and Dry Cleaner. I love going here because Hwan always greets me by name. His store is convenient to everything. I used to go up the street where I paid less per garment, but I was constantly asking them to redo my clothes because they didn't even look dry cleaned. I have never had to request Fair Tailoring redo anything though. Also, the parking is much better here than some other dry cleaners/tailors. You won't believe how well-made his MASKS are! I have yet to see anyone with a mask as well constructed as he makes them, they're adjustable, and they have room for filters, and they're so breathable. I can wear mine all day long. Hands down the best tailor in all of VA! I've been to him over 25 times for wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and all my other clothes I needed to be altered. The price is fair - I wouldn't say it's cheap or super expensive. The tailor is highly experience and really listens to want you. He is also super friendly and kindhearted. Originally I rated them higher, but after going back to them for 8 months with suits, jeans, long sleeved dress shirts, and a winter jacket, they make too many mistakes! Winter jacket - unwearable because he made the arms too short. $150 Jacket went in trash. Long sleeved dress shirt - again, he made the arms too short so when I lift my arms up the material under the arm pits pulls forward. Two more dress shirts I can't wear - total $200 Jeans - I recently brought two brand new nice pair of Diesel jeans and brought them by. I asked him to shorten the length, keep the original hem & turn the button fly into a zipper fly. Result: they are still too long; he didn't use the original hem so they look super cheep now & he left the button fly material on them & just put a zipper over it instead of actually removing it. I was furious & the worst part is the man doesn't speak English so it's a lot of pointing & guessing. So annoyed! I will never go back here again. And on top of all that, they continue to remove the damn tags so you can't even return them! And he tried to tell me he didn't have my original hems. I basically had to force it out of him to get them back. read more

Frustrated with service! I've gone to this tailor a few times simply for convenience (it is right down the block from my house). I always thought he was overpriced, but I didn't mind because he did a decent job. However, because of my recent experience, I will no longer be going to him. I asked him to do some alterations on a bridesmaid dress and was originally asked to pay 120.00. Pricey, but I understood. When I came back to try it on, the dress was too big in the waist. I remember telling him this so I just assumed it was his mistake and told him that the waist needed to be taken in again. I assumed because it was his mistake that he would fix it and I would not be charged additionally. In our discussion, he did not once inform me that there would be additional charge. When I went to pick it up, I was so surprised when he expected me to pay $25.00 extra. Long story short, I'm not as annoyed about the money (although I do think $150 bucks for simple bridesmaid alterations is ridiculous). I'm more annoyed with his lack of communication about an additional charge for something that should be done correctly the first time around. My advice? you can get better service elsewhere for a better or comparable price read more

This is the best tailor around. Friendly, affordable, quick, convenient location. There are two dressing rooms and a large mirror. My husband and I used this tailor for our wedding day attire. I only needed a bustle done for my dress. My train wasn't too long. He gave me a few options and did a perfect job. I really liked how the back of my dress looked bustled up. My now husband had his wedding day suit altered. He was happy also with the tailor's work. The tailor made sure he was completely happy and made adjustments as needed. We both looked great on our wedding day. We are so glad to have such a talented tailor so close! read more

I had a very negative experience with another tailor. I ended up bringing the botched tailoring job to Fair Tailoring to fix it. The guy was super nice and he did a great job of undoing the damage that the previous tailor had inflicted on my garment. Not only that, but he was substantially cheaper than the previous tailor even though he had the additional work of having to undo their work first. We just found this place the other day. It's a stand alone building on chestnut street. There is a very narrow drive way to the back of the building with limited parking. We recommend you park you car on the street. This is place is super clean and uncluttered. There are two spacious changing room on the right side as you walk inside the shop. I came with a couple of dresses for hemming the other day ($11/each) and the owner/tailor was able to turn it around within a day. We were impressed with the quality and the quick turnaround time. I took a coat that needed to be taken in and I have been back 2 times now as it doesn't seem like anything has been done to improve the fitting. Friendly man, doesn't speak fluent English it seems however. I have taken many small alterations to him and he is affordable and has a fast turn around. But I would not trust him with any large jobs, he is kind of old school and wants to hem the pants a little higher, unless you are clear with him. He also doesn't make his work blend in at times. If you want a couple pants taken up, or a button fixed, he is your man, anything else larger than those jobs, you probably get what you pay for. read more

I took a bridesmaids dress here to get hemmed. I think the guy did a good job overall, however the dress was still a little too long and I noticed a small knick on the bottom of my dress which couldn't be fixed. He gave me a discount, and I may return if I need anything else done just because he was nice and this was probably a fluke mistake. But I would make sure to tell them exactly where you want things to fall length wise, since his measurements were still too long for my liking. read more
