Hmm, where do I start. I'd give this establishment negative zero stars if it was possible. I came to the store because a good friend (who lived in Fairfax) past away and I acquired his last suit that he purchased at William T. Clothiers, and I wanted to get it altered for me in his memory. While I was there I decided to get 4 customs shirts made, as my last tailor retired recently. The shirt measurement process was strange from the get go, the owner/tailor Todd put 2 sample shirts in the dressing room. He stated 1 was for tighter fit, and 1 was for a looser fit. But didn't tell which one was which, so I put on the closest one to me. Todd then started asking me about how I wanted the length/width and such and started to measure me. Then we started to go over shirt patterns and fabrics, and I started to pick out patterns/fabrics/cuffs/collars pretty standard stuff. BTW, once this process started I never did try on the other sample shirts and he never mentioned for me to do so. After all the measuring was finished the pricing came, and OMG it was crazy expensive! The 4 shirts came to an average of $323.75 each, wow. All of my suits, jackets, dress pants, and dress shirts in the last 20 years have been custom tailored as I am an oddly shaped person. I know custom clothing is expensive, but the most I've ever paid for a shirt was about $200, but I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered the shirts as I need a closet refresh. After a few days I got a message that 2 of the shirt designs were not available, so I had to basically let Todd pick the new colors/designs. About 4ish weeks later my shirts were ready for pickup, I was excited to see how the expensive shirts looked. When I tried on the 4 shirts, they were so tight that I was really taken aback. It was like his tape measure or eyesight was not working properly, they were so ill fitting. So all 4 shirts had to be completely reorder, and low and behold another color/design was not available again. That makes 3 of the 4 colors/designs picked out ended up unavailable. Well I picked up the 4 shirts yesterday, 5 months after my original order/measurement. Another bothersome thing with this tailor/Todd is that I ended up in that shop approximately 8 times, and Todd was only there 2 times. He as some nice whiskey displayed in the shop, never did he offer any to me. He knew how upset I was, and didn't even have the decency to be present when I finally pick up my shirts yesterday. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this tailor, there are so many tailors to choose from in the DC area to deal with this tailors crazy high prices, and awful customer service. The shirts are good quality, but this quality can be had for half the price. read more

Todd at WT Clothiers saved that day! Not only did he produce an amazing looking tuxedo, but he did so on such short notice. He truly is an expert at his craft and is so easy to get along with and work with. He came out to my parents' house where he did the measurements in person and assured us everything will be great. He had a vast selection of finishes and really paid attention to every detail of my body to ensure the tuxedo looked amazing. when I picked up my tuxedo, without saying anything Todd was able to pinpoint exactly where some additional alterations had to be done and produced them very quickly. Todd & Fam at WT are just great. I've wanted to pop in and check them out for a while, but I find myself not needing any suits on account of less wear during COVID times. The opportunity presented itself a couple weeks ago, and they did not disappoint. I needed a tux for a wedding downtown, so I figured I would give WT a spin. Todd was very responsive via email and phone once I filled out the form, and he did some juggling to keep my appointment when I needed it. Upon arrival, he took great measurements and helped me select a fantastic tux. The tux arrived promptly and was easy to pick up and return. It was also of a fantastic quality that I received many compliments on. While returning my tux, Todd complimented the coat that I was wearing. The coat happened to be new and was in need of sleeve alterations. Todd said that he could easily take care of that. He did so to my great satisfaction in a reasonable turnaround at a price that was fantastic. TL;DR-- go see WT if you want great service and a great selection of tuxedos or other custom attire. After readIng his Yelp reviews I decided to stop by WT Clothiers and have a suit altered that I bought last year of the shelf. After setting up an appointment with Todd and seeing his professionalism and knowledge of all things suits, I couldn't help it and had him make me a custom suit. I just picked up the suit a few hours ago and I am very very happy with the outcome! I have an event tomorrow and though he told me it might not be ready in time due to the fabric I selected, he pushed the suppliers and was able to make it happen!! I highly recommend Todd! I had a dilemma--I could not find a button down ladies shirt that stayed tucked into my trousers when I raised my arms. sounds silly I know except it was an issue because this shirt was a work uniform and it was important to my supervisor. I used Todd Baldwin to make my suit for my residency interviews. A lot of custom clothiers don't have experience making suits for women, however Todd has been making women's suits for years- so he's ahead of the game in the industry. I was extremely happy with his service, expertise, and attention to detail. He came through with the exact look I wanted as a client. The suit turned out perfect- feminine and classy like I wanted. I'm very picky and had a specific vision for my suit in mind, and I always felt that he was attuned to my needs. I never felt like I was putting him out or wasting his time- he's a true professional who simply gets it and has that "X factor" that only pure talent and passion for what he does can account for. He went to great lengths to make things right and perfect for me. He's based just outside of D.C., I was doing an away rotation at Georgetown last October and he came to me for measurements twice during that month. He then shipped my suit to me free of charge second week of November as I was back in New York (it takes about 4-6 weeks for custom suit to be made, so have a backup suit in the meanwhile if you get October interviews or start the process sooner). His price is very reasonable and fair compared to the quotes I got from NYC clothiers, and he has more experience with women than they do! I have been a customer for over twenty years. I can say that the level of service Todd offers is unmatchable. I have to comment here that I just threw away a few shirts that I bought from Todd.......ten years ago!! he puts dates in his shirts the month of manufacture, so I was not going by memory. Now it is only fair to say that I do have over 15 shirts from Todd in my rotation . Time to order some more. Not the cheapest shirts around but well worth it for durability. read more
