This is an update to my first review that doesn't seem to show up on Yelp in "public"- only I see it! I cannot say enough how amazing this place is. Everyone from the wait staff, bar, food runner etc is always so happy, smiling, kind, energetic and attentive! The food is fresh and delicious. Their burgers are amazing. Their secret sauce is reminiscent of the In n Out sauce which made my SoCal hubby very happy. They added pizza to their menu and it looks amazing, can't wait to try it next time. Overall- fantastic environment, great food, great staff. Couldn't ask for more! (Lets hope this review actually shows up!)

If you're looking for a meat and 3 this is it! Honestly, a good meat and 3 is hard to find, but…read morethis one is worth the trip. We were seated fairly quickly on this busy Sunday, and met with friendly service. Hubs was starving so he ordered their corn bread muffin app. and fried squash appetizer to get the ball rolling. The muffins were a disappointment because we don't care for sweet leaning cornbread, but that's our taste preference. The fried squash was a home run with almost a tempura type batter over yellow squash spears. They were fried to crispy golden, the batter stayed on, and the buttermilk dressing was a wonderful accompaniment. I could have eaten the plate full for lunch and stopped at that! Their breakfast and brunch menu is extensive, but I settled on their 2 piece Fried Chicken with 3 sides and opted for mashed potatoes, stewed okra and tomatoes & fresh cucumber salad. Delish! Hubs thoroughly enjoyed his fried pork chop, butter beans, mashed potatoes and creamed corn, also. Their Peach cobbler was a perfect end to a yummy meal. No canned peaches used today! Fresh sliced peaches with the perfect amount of cobbler topping served À la Mode was very yummy! The decor is fitting with vintage advertising signs and painted farm animal artwork. We could hear the rooster in the nearby coop and see their crops growing in the distance. A working farm AND a working restaurant all rolled into one. We will return!

It was full of flavor, juicy, and perfectly paired with ranch dressing, lettuce, pickles and incredibly ripe, fresh tomatoes. The atmosphere is nostalgic with beautiful decor that adds to the charm. The service was excellent! Everyone I encountered (from the staff to other customers) was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Even the restroom was spotless, which says a lot about the care they put into the place. I also grabbed four ears of corn to go. They were freshly picked and only 75 cents each! Such a great deal for such high quality. There were also other plants and veggies for sale! I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. I will definitely be back!

Lowcountry Backyard was one of those places that feels like it's been there forever in the best…read morepossible way. Quirky, unpolished, a little tucked away, and absolutely full of character. It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.

Except for the fried green tomatoes- those were very good, dipped in blue cheese dressing (ranch was bad, tasted like plain mayonnaise with a parsley sprinkle) The pimento cheese appetizer was so disappointing! Tasted like cream cheese mixed with packaged shredded cheddar and 3 small pieces of raw red pepper; served with stale corn chips and uninspired pita. Was so looking forward to good homemade pimento cheese in the south! The grouper sandwich was sad, my friend only ate the fish and left the bun and tomatoes on the plate. The mac and cheese was even sadder, described as baked mac and cheese it was more like old leftovers, cold, separated noodles that were really dry. The shrimp blt salad- the aforementioned fried green tomatoes were the best part. The bacon was cold and floppy and kind of unchewable. It was served on wilted arugula. I'm so confused by all the rave reviews! Maybe this was a one off.

Met an old friend of mine here for dinner. We made a reservation online with no issues. It…read moresurprisingly was not very busy which was good - we sat outside in the porch area with one other set of guests. There were more people inside, which had a nice fun vibe. The outside seating area was very nice and cozy. They had cute stringed lights set up, some fans for when it is hot, and heat flames - not sure if the flames were heaters or decor only, but my guess would be they actually work (we sat on the side closer to the building so not next to them, thankfully as I actually got a little hot). We had a nice young woman for our server who was very attentive and sweet. She answered our questions, specifically the difference between the "Tacos" and "Grilled Tacos" - for the record, it has nothing to do with the meat (like grilled chicken vs fried) and everything to do with the taco style - meaning corn or flour, and grilled like a panini or regular style. We had some drinks - margarita, sangria, and a moscow mule; all great! We ordered the cornbread for the table. It was a little different from your typical cornbread - it had jalapeños in it but wasn't too spicy and was more like grilled pieces than baked. And they were cut up into triangular shapes. Not as sweet as some other cornbreads and had like a chipotle dipping sauce. For our meals, we had the Trippy Taco bowl, mix and match regular tacos chicken and steak, and a burger. The entrees came out quickly, great presentation, and as expected. The tacos and burger came with fries (shoe-string) and they were quite delicious - and the salad had a nice amount of tortilla chip strips on top. It's an interesting mix of american and mexican, done tastefully. The menu had enough options without being too overwhelming.
