I was able to get the units I needed in the time frame I was looking for. I have to say that it was the team work between Josh and Ell that made that happen. Josh assisted and was able to find the units that were becoming available. He and Ell made this process such a delight when I was expecting it to be somewhat stressful with the time frame I had. Not only was this experience a breath of fresh air, but it continued each time I was at the facility. The maintenance and care of the facility is just as nice. Each time I have made a trip to my unit I see all of the crew doing something around the facility and each time they make eye contact and greet you with a smile. Josh was painting on one occasion and stopped what he was doing to acknowledge me and say good morning. You do not get this kind of acknowledgment anywhere these days and when you do it's definitely recognized. Thank you Josh, Ell and the other extremely kind and helpful maintenance helper that all I can remember is he has been with them for 4 years . I didn't want to get his name wrong. The storage mart employee called me after emailing me asking if I still needed the unit. I told him I didn't but assumed I lost my money (which was the most reasonable price in my area). He told me they could just vacate the unit and return my money even after I said to him that I was okay with them keeping the money since they did work on my behalf and I signed documents. I mean how often are businesses understanding and as helpful as Storage Mart is?! That made my day, thanks so much and I highly recommend this business!!

These include the back gate left unlocked and wide open as displayed in my photo. To make matters worse, the buildings are left unlocked 24/7, and many units have hollow core doors. So much t would be a small matter for someone to enter, put their fist through storage unit doors, and empty the place. As a former police officer, my advice is to keep the back gate locked at all times. Lock the buildings at night, and replace hollow core doors --including the one to the office -- with solid core. And while you're at it, a basic alarm system would be well worth the expense. If you did these things, your property would beat anything else in NVA hands down.

We rented 2 units on the ground floor at the CubeSmart on 3179 Draper Dr., Fairfax, VA 22031, from…read more2022 to 2025. We found a live racoon in one of the units trying to escape while moving out. The racoon apparently lived in the unit for a while as we found many of our stored contents in the unit chewed and destroyed by feces and urine smell. The manager at the CubeSmart was helpful in filing our insurance claim as we signed up for SureSmart Protection Plan for $2,000. Now a month later the insurance company denied our claim and does not respond. Here is the frustrating part: they denied our claim alleging the damage was excluded from insurance coverage because it was done by "rodents". When I reiterated that the damage was done by a *racoon* (we sent picture of the racoon we found in our unit and feces-damaged furniture and equipment to support our claim) and a racoon is not a "rodent" the senior claims representative at the insurance company denied the claim again citing the content was not covered because it is "animals, birds or fish"!? When I reminded that the damaged contents were instead office equipment and furniture destroyed by racoon and sent a movie we took of the racoon trying to escape from my CubeSmart unit they stop communicating. So after paying $12/month for SureSmart Protection Plan for 2 and 1/2 years which would have defrayed a fraction of total damage I am left with no coverage and no communication. While the manager at the CubeSmart has been helpful the fact is a RACOON got into my CubeSmart storage unit; destroyed my stored equipment and furniture and my SureSmart Protection Plan did not cover anything. I do not recommend this place as their SureSmart Protection Plan did not work for me.

The facility is old and the elevator is rickety, but I never had any issues with the facility or the management from move in to move out. The manager, Bob, was always friendly and responsive to emails (like when I needed to update payment info) and gave plenty of notice for rate increases. In five years, it went up from $88 to $99/month not including insurance, which you don't need to purchase if it's covered on your existing insurance. The rentals are month to month. Overall, I highly recommend this location if you're looking for a more affordable option in a convenient location. It's right by 495, Lee Highway, and Route 50 so it's an easy drive from almost anywhere.
