DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!. we used Regency after 2 friends recommended them. They each used them for moving, not storage. we used them to move from NC to VA and stored our furniture for 4 months. They ruined a $10,000 sofa; when it was unwrapped it had huge stains and mold all over it. they dropped our desk in the garage floor, put a large dent in the door from the garage to the house, broke pieces off of a 1900's antique sideboard, bent our outdoor table, put a large hole in a $1600 lounge chair, among many other scratches and dents. we provided photos and made a claim for the insurance that we paid $400 for, and refused to cover anything. My husband followed them around while moving the furniture in to protect our new homes finishes. the movers, getting annoyed, saying "were professionals". HA! Nightmare pricing scheme. Moved our furniture into storage in 2021, really affordable price for 3 men, a truck, 5 hours of packing and transporting to their warehouse $1100. We only stored our large furniture, no small items. Year and half of storage we finally found a house. Decided not to pay $5,500 to move the items a few hours away. Choose to pick up our items from the warehouse and use a uhaul. Owner wanted to charge $1,800 for what would take only an hour to accomplish. This was $1,000 for them to retrieve the five crates and put them at the warehouse door, and $145 an hour for 2 of their guys to unwrap the furniture with a minimum of 5 hours charged regardless of how long it took. Picked up items, owner finally agreed to only charge for the time it actually took them to unwrap items (we loaded the trucks). Total for about 45mins of work was $1,225. Be careful about storing your items in the warehouse once they have your personal belongings you will pay 2x-5x to get them back. read more

THE GOOD 1. Our unpacking crew of Jorge, Johnny, and Miguel were TOTALLY professional, friendly, helpful, and showed great and positive qualities as people. They were careful with unpacking and carrying items into our house, thoughtful in where to put things, tidy in their dress and manner, and through conversations revealed fine Christian beliefs and love for their families. 2. Johnny, from the unpacking crew, also was present for packing. He did things I'd not seen before in effort to protect our items. For example, to keep tape adhesive off of items like furniture, he put one wrap of tape upside down first, then wrapped regularly. 3. Office staff are friendly and helpful. 4. The company is safety conscious, limiting the number of hours of combined packing/unpacking and driving. This was very nice to see, irrespective of potential additional cost. 5. Regency fills the gap for medium-distance moves. While Mayflower told me they have a minimum 1,000 mile distance, Regency handled our 300 mile move. THE BAD 6. If you use Regency, they pack almost too fast, so you need your advocates in every room where active packing occurs. This is because we found things mixed up between rooms, and it wasn't because we'd moved them. I found a small TV from my wife's office in with small stuff from our garage, and stuff from my office (upstairs) in boxes of her stuff (downstairs). Also, some of my wife's medications ended up missing. We've opened every box, and they've not appeared, nor has items from my office desk. They might still show up, but like I said, every box has been opened. 7. Had other packers followed the method Johnny did to protect from the damaging effects of tape adhesive, the finish in our china cabinet would not have been pulled off. THE UGLY 8. Julio of the packing crew was not careful with packing and some of our items he packed arrived damaged. For example, he put a box against the flat part of a shadow box. Had the surface been glass, it would have shattered; that the surface was plastic, it only broke. He was not friendly and neglected to pack some items that I had to put in our car and drive to our new location. 9. When I sent the company representative, Cliff, pictures of the damage, I never heard from him, and it's been over a month. read more

WARNING!!! Do not hire this company if you expect respectful and prompt addressing of any issues related to your move. The movers caused significant damage to both the old and new homes, including denting walls and damaging paint. In addition, despite being labeled they put boxes in the wrong room, and we are not talking about a couple but like 10 or more. When my wife called to discuss the matter, she was treated rudely by the office manager and berated. We were told to fill out their insurance claim form but were ghosted after it was sent in along with pictures of the damages which ended up costing me thousands to deal with in terms of lost security deposit and painter fees. read more

I had lived in my house for 35 years and as anyone knows that after that amount of time you can collect a bunch of "stuff"! Regenvy Moving and Storage provided me a sound estimate from among three vendors I chose. In addition, he offered me and option to lock in my estimate from coming back no higher than the base estimate. This was quite comforting as there would be no surprises from the monetary perspective! The move went as smooth as one could hope given how unorganized my spouse and I were despite our best efforts to be organized! Our move was orchestrated well (Regency did the packing!) The crew were diligent in almost 100% of the moving process! The packers arrived on time and really worked their butts off getting everything packed. They also arrived on the date promised to deliver everything! We're they perfect? Almost! There was nominal breakage (2 bowls, a flour sifter, and a picture frame;) among all that needed to be packed and moved this was impressive! There was one regret and that had to do with a large IKEA closet. While Regency and another vendor who came for a site visit warned me that IKEA furniture is a challenge to move, I was a bit saddened to see that it was moved in pieces! I am not sure it can be rebuilt. That said, I am not terribly disappointed as finding a place it could be fit into would be a challenge! Do not use this company! My quote was wildly inaccurate, and ended up being $1700 more than originally quoted. This is after I got rid of three trucks full of belongings that had been on the original estimate! On top of this, the moving foreman told me they expected tips and did not load most of my items onto the truck until I gave tip money to them. Not that I wouldn't have tipped, but I felt that my things were being held hostage and would have been mistreated if I had not give them them enough. The main reason I chose them was that they offered safe, climatized storage for my household goods that included many priceless antiques. I needed storage for several months as my new home was being built. Their cost of storing my possessions was reasonable and I knew I could trust Regency to keep my thing safe. Regency uses experienced movers, who expertly packed and unpacked all my belongings. They were very careful in following my instructions on some of my more valuable items and everything was delivered to my new home in perfect condition. BEWARE of Regency Moving and Storage! We were quoted an estimate of $2245 for a crosstown move in Fredericksburg, Va. After the move, the bill came to $3840, some $1600 (71%) higher than the estimate! When I confronted the owner, Cliff Krug, he accused me and my wife of misrepresenting the amount of goods to be shipped. The man was impossible to talk to! He kept shouting me down as I tried to reason with him. I have never encountered a more offensive and difficult person to deal with. I offered to pay the amount of his estimate. He said that was "ridiculous." Apparently he has no more credibility in his estimates than we do. I offered to split the difference. He said that was also ridiculous. When threatened to complain to the Better Business Bureau, he offered to pay me $280 if I didn't do that. I declined his offer. You'll save a lot of money if you steer clear of Regency Moving and storage. I wish I had. read more

Need to update this review. We did end up using Regency for our second move in April 2022. Everything seemed to go fine. About a month later, I was finishing up unpacking and had been specifically looking for a lamp since we moved. It was something my deceased father had gifted me. I finally found it, still wrapped in the mover's blanket, stashed behind a bunch of unrelated items in the utility closet in our basement. It should have been with my "office" things. It was completely shattered and I was pretty devastated. I understand that this can happen but to intentionally hide it from me was heartbreaking. I did reach out to let them know what happened and never even received a response. So disappointing. read more

We used Regency when we moved locally in December 2020. They were a great company to work with from estimate to move. The cost was significantly less than other estimates, but we got as good or better service. Our moving day was a terribly rainy day, but the Regency crew handled it well. They put down carpet protectors and took care to wrap every piece of furniture and then unwrap and carefully put everything together in our new house. I don't know how they fit our exercise equipment into the basement, but they did! The crew always wore masks when inside the houses and were really kind and helpful. The gentlemen who assisted with my move were prompt, courteous, and very good about communicating with questions or concerns throughout the move. Would have submitted review earlier, but busy unpacking, arranging, etc. My wife and I don't have that much experience in moving, but our move performed by Regency was beyond horrible. Over $1000.00 in damaged/destroyed goods including a brand new 60" flat tv screen, two mountain bikes literally damaged beyond repair and a broken antique marble table top. When these damages were reported to Cliff he advised the insurance would not cover the damages! He had the audacity to respond that because the move was more difficult than anticipated, we could call it even and he would not honor the insurance, damage complaint. We previously had met with Mr. Krug on two occasions to ensure he understood the nature and location of the move. I called Regency to move from an apartment in Richmond, VA to another apartment in Woodbridge, VA recently. I called them after trying and failing to get a commitment from others with good ratings on Yelp even after making out a list of my furniture and emailing it (along with photos in one case). All that was a waste of time - either no responses or no commitments. Just call the Regency! Glad I did. The operator made an appointment and the movers came on time. The only glitch was that the phone operator told me there'd be three men but two came. This is not a complaint because the two did the work of three! They were courteous to me and careful with my furniture. The move was done without any issues and in a timely manner. The rates were reasonable and in line with estimates I'd got from others. Update: Cliff responded but wasn't honest. There were no extra monetary concessions other than knocking off the hour and not charging for the travel fee which I stated in my initial review. I was charged for two hours for the second day and not 1. Please feel free to contact me and clarify what those extra monetary concessions were and I will happily change my review. There was no need to point finger, but when someone refuses to take ownership upfront then the obvious must be stated. In the end we paid a lot of money for a crappy move. We came in under budget because my husband and I busted our butts to get things packed when they showed up unprepared. We pay by the hour and needed to be moved that day, so we had no choice. horrible experience. We were moving to a larger home with our newborn twin girls and our three year old. We got a quote for a full pack and move. I was told all I needed to do next was call and schedule the date. So I did and the lady who took the call didn't book us for the full pack and move so they showed up on move date unprepared. I get it that mistakes happen and was ready to just keep it moving however the way they handled it left me disgusted. Since they weren't prepared we scrambled to get things packed away. My husband and I packed and the movers packed. They had to leave and get supplies. KEep in mind we were paying by the hour. The owner Cliff Sr. was unable to comprehend that they need to cut off at least an hour for them while we waited as they scratched their heads to figure out what to do. My husband and I ended up paying a lot of money and ended up packing up 80% of our belongings. The move us to be completed the following day due to them dropping the ball. When I asked Cliff what he was going to do to make this situation right he had no clue. He informed me that it was my fault, when I asked him to elaborate he retracted his statement. I did what I was told. I got the quote and then booked my date. He told me he would wave the travel fees for the second day, oh how nice since the company is the reason why there was an additional day to move. Cliff was rude and condescending. Had no customer service skills and could care less that this move was a disaster. We have tons of boxes with no labels. We have 3 small children and we both work full time. The reason cliff claimed they dropped the ball was because most people don't pay for a full move. So they assumed this was the case. They didn't ask during the booking and have no plans on changing. It will take us months to find our stuff. The movers worked hard, were friendly and did their best. However, from their main office they don't care that you are spending thousands of dollars and any inconvenience is oh well. CLiff expected us to pay full price for a crappy move and refused to take ownership of his faults. Please find another moving company unless you enjoy wasting time, taking risks, and flushing your money down the toilet. read more

My husband who is very low key & been in the military for 26 years(= many moves) fired them within one hour. He has never done that ever! They didn't wrap the piano in blankets as I was told they would do & they hit the side of the moving van with the piano. My husband saw the whole thing. We hired Regency Moving and Storage Company (from Woodbridge VA) to pack and move our things from our old residence into our new residence. They charge by the hour and my complaint revolves around the fact that the Regency workers (packers) inflated their hours and therefore over charged me. Below are some examples of how the Regency packers inflated their work hours. 1) The packers empted unnecessary file cabinets (4) and wrapped /packed all the items into boxes, * Note that during the visit when they gave me my estimate, they specifically stated that I did not need to empty out cabinets and dressers. 2) They wrapped unnecessary items such as aspirin bottles, magnets, pens, individual shoes, etc. 3) They ended up charging me for the .5 hour they spent eating the lunch I had bought for them. Although I had signed off on their time sheet, I was not aware of the inflation of time until I started unpacking my items at the new house. It was very apparent that the packers were wrapping and packing unnecessary items to increase the total hours worked. Although I confronted the manager (Cliff) about this issue, he stated that he would not give me a refund nor would he apologize for the misrepresentation. With packing and moving my invoice came out to be over $3000 and yet he would not give me any credit (not even $100) towards the false and unsatisfactory work of his packers. NO customer service (yet they advertise that they care about customer satisfaction). If you don't want a headache during or after your move, do not hire these people. read more

Superb Customer service and moving performance. We have moved over twenty times across America and overseas. This has been our best experience and easiest move yet thanks to the Great folks at Regency. The movers are courteous, professional and hardworking. None of them disappear for hours (like so many movers in our past). We used Regency Moving & Storage in early July for a move from a Woodbridge storage facility to a duplex in Dupont Circle. I can't say enough good things about these guys. They were on time, they didn't bat an eye when they realized we (i) had grossly underestimated the amount of furniture was in the unit, no complaints about the heat (the heat index was well over 100 degrees that day) or the fact that our unit was on the top floor of a walk up building (and is a two story unit!). We encouraged them to take breaks and offered lunch but instead they powered through. I will say their estimate was off - we were quoted 4 hours as opposed to the 5 it took - but that was my bad for being off on how much stuff we actually had to move! Moses was the team lead for our move but really all the guys were excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends or use them for another move myself. read more
