What I was convinced must be a bleeding, hemorrhaging, slipped disc turned out to be something so much less, and they showed me how to meaningfully strengthen my core and manage the pain. Now the little nuisance has been banished, and if he does show his ugly little face of pain I know how to put him down fast! These therapists will thoroughly evaluate you at every session before turning you over to the exercise specialists, who will then stick with you to make sure you're are doing the exercises properly. You will come out of this experience physically stronger and mentally equipped to manage any lingering pain. Ultimately, I expect mine to vanish entirely over time. Already, it has been reduced to an occasional twinge here and there when I'm not being wise with how I use my body - such a life-changing improvement. My husband is also now a patient at Jackson Clinics. If you are looking for thorough, one-on-one care and insightful, accurate diagnoses, please consider them before going anywhere else. It's my understanding you do not need a doctor's referral to receive your evaluation.

My daughter recently had a bad experience at Jackson Clinic in Oakton and asked me to share her…read morethoughts. She had gone to the clinic for PT for about nine months but stopped because of the PT's rudeness. My daughter notes that the people at the front desk were beyond helpful and kind. Specifically, Anna gave us her email when my daughter hinted that she was upset about a different situation, and she seemed to genuinely care about the issue. David was also nice when we talked to him. Unfortunately, there were multiple occasions where my daughter felt sick and terrible during the sessions, and had to leave. When she would tell her PT, the PT would make my daughter feel bad and guilt trip and pressure her into staying longer. Recently, my daughter got sick and couldn't go to PT for about a month. After a month, she felt well enough to attend about 30 minutes. After the initial 30 minutes with the PT, my daughter told them she wasn't feeling well and would go home after one more exercise (that she planned and chose to do). They told her, "Okay, well just plan to stay longer next time." My daughter was extremely confused and just dumbfounded. She assumed the PT misunderstood and told the PT that she still wasn't feeling well from her recent sickness and had planned to only stay for 30 minutes. The PT double downed and told her to plan to stay for longer. At that point, my daughter was so angry she didn't want to talk to the PT anymore. She did the last exercise and left. Because they were not receptive to her feelings and symptoms, my daughter decided to stop going to the clinic, but we wanted to report it to their admin team. She sent in a contact request to the Jackson Clinics company admin team, but they never emailed or called us. A few days later, I cancelled all of her upcoming appointments at the clinic and the clinic director asked me why. I briefly explained, but my daughter called him back and told him more. At first, he seemed understanding, but near the end he seemed to be making excuses for the PT. He said he talked to her about it, and he didn't mention if she was even sorry or wanted to explain it herself. We later learned that Jackson can only bill you for the time that the patient is there. We assume they put pressure on their employees to make clients stay. While we understand that this is not the employees' fault, we expected more courtesy from them, explaining that they had to say it. Jackson most likely puts pressure on their employees so they get more money, but because of this forced pressure, we are not willing to continue service, and they lose more than they would have. We also recently learned that they sent an end of service note to my daughter's PCP. We know this is normal and expected. However, the PT lied on it. She said that she had explained to my daughter during the last appointment about their 90 minute model. She did not. She also said "patient was noncompliant with at home exercises." While this is partially true, as my daughter has multiple unreliable and unpredictable health conditions, the PT did not put in a lot of effort to help. We hope this review will give potential clients some insight and our goal is that they won't make others as upset as my daughter was, and still is.

I worked with Allison for the better part of three months and she was terrific. She was calm and very detailed in what she was doing and made sure I understood what she was trying to accomplish. She was very patient throughout the process and worked with me answering my concerns and questions. She was very solicitous in insuring any pain was minimal and concerned about the entire process for me. Gradually, I have recovered and have regained almost all of my ankle function thanks to Allison. The entire staff was very pleasant and created a friendly atmosphere which added to a healing environment. We all seemed to be working towards the same goal. I would highly recommend Pivot-Athletico as the "go to" physical therapy in Faitfax, Va.

Dr. Robert Cowley was instrumental to my pre-operation rehabilitation and have me a sense of purpose and progression right after my injury by planning out what the next 6 weeks of my "prehab" would look like. He was also cognizant of how many visits my insurance would cover and made sure not to front load appointments so i would still have enough visits for after my surgery too. Too often other medical professionals are just trying to squeeze every dollar from you and this was very refreshing to have from Dr. Cowley. I'm 5 weeks post-op now and my mobility has come back very quickly thanks to my prehab and Dr. Crowley!

I had a 2-level cervical spinal fusion with rare complications, so I am very special to say the least, lol. First off, let me start by saying I am already familiar with Inova Physical Therapy because my son had to have PT for a pulled hamstring, and we used the Fairfax/Prosperity location. The PTs were great with him and he especially really liked Josh, but the office manager was consistently so rude to clients & staff that it was enough to make me not want to go back there ever again, even though it is a bigger facility (side-note: she's so awful that she is negatively referenced in their location's reviews several times)! Now for the awesome Annandale location: This is my first experience with the Annandale location and I absolutely love it! The facility is clean, and being located inside the Audrey Moore Rec Center gives them the luxury of access to the gym as well as the swimming pool for aquatic therapy. There is plenty of parking and plenty to do; whether you're by yourself or someone comes with you. The actual PT room itself is very intimate & there are never more than 2 clients overlapping at a time. I have had the pleasure of doing my PT with Vanessa, Katie, and Spencer, all of whom are wonderful. Vanessa did my initial evaluation and could not have been any sweeter; Katie is extremely knowledgeable in the different modalities of therapy & Spencer is highly trained to do dry-needling. All three of them are genuinely so kind, caring, and considerate. They really take their time to get to know you, your situation, and your specific needs. They tailor everything they do, every step of the way and constantly modify to ensure you're reaching your goals at a comfortable, pain-free pace. From beginning to end, they are very thorough and clearly explain everything to you, giving you an understanding of what's going on and how it will affect your body and its healing. I could not be more pleased with my progress so far and am always happy to go see them. I really feel so good when I leave; both mentally & physically. If you need PT or are in anyway apprehensive about PT, look no further, this is most definitely the place to go!

This time I stayed within the Inova system and looked for five stars among the Inova PT centers on Yelp. Inova PT Annandale was the only one with five stars. It is a very small facility but the staff is well equipped, educated, professional, respectful, with a great sense of humor. Spencer and Katie encourage their patients while learning PT. Dominique is always welcoming and helps with scheduling, insurance, and payments. I appreciate receiving a personal home program from the therapists at each visit. After ten visits twice a week, Spencer believes I am doing well enough to just come once a week and continue with the home program.

Dr. Chavone and Dr. Gwen are a great team and run the best PT place in NOVA. Highly trained, experienced, knowledgeable and friendly therapists. I've been seeing them post achilles surgery for about 3 weeks. In addition to needing PT to regain full use of my ankle and foot, 8 weeks in a boot left me with an injured kneed from walking funny and significant muscle atrophy. Not only have I been making great progress, but I actually feel myself getting stronger. Both Dr's are great at giving encouragement, motivation and a little helpful push when you need it. They also really listen to their patients and their patients bodies. Finally, Dr. Chavone and Dr. Gwen are always happy to answer any questions in detail- in layman's terms all the way up to an in depth medical discussion. Everything is SUPER CONVENIENT: plenty of parking, unlike trying to get in/out of fair oaks hospital complex; plenty of hours available; and an elevator in back that takes you right to the office. Their office itself is very clean, has everything needed to provide excellent care and very bright, open and welcoming. It looks like a small, very modern gym with up-to-date brand new equipment. My initial therapy is about halfway finished, but I hoping I can continue to do more balance and strength workouts. I really like this crew. OK, in one of their rooms is what looks like some kind of suspension training system. When I asked, they said it was the REDCORD NEURAC system. If you don't play for the Washington Capitol Hockey team, you can't find this anywhere within 50 miles of the DC/NOVA area. it is one of the most innovative and effective (peer reviewed) systems for treating challenging muscle/skeletal pain. I really wanna try it for or Post Laminectomy Syndrome (back pain/leg sciatica). If I do, i'll post a follow-up review. http://www.redcordamerica.com/neuromuscular-activation/neurac-system.php One important thing that I didn't know until Dr. Johnson told me this the other day. Think you can benefit from PT? Just self-refer and call them. The Doctors are able to do an independent assessment, and prescribe up to 30 days of initial therapy as well as recommend you to a local MD who can prescribe further therapy. I cannot recommend more highly!
