My original room, the air conditioning thermostat on the wall, was broken and hanging off and would not cool the room properly. I had to be moved to another room which was a suite and supposed to be much nicer. In that room, the thermostat was also barely attached to the wall, but at least it kept the room clean so that was good. The phone in the room was a very old one and didn't even have the button identifiers on it. I had a broken hairdryer included in the bathroom and had to ask for a new one of those as well. They are doing construction outside very early in the morning so that was a little bit disturbing sleep wise, but understandable. It happens sometimes. I would say one out of four of the front desk staff I encountered, were actually polite to me on a regular basis. The beds were comfy, and I enjoyed the pillows although, I asked for housekeeping was told I would get it never did. The following day I was told I got some kind of a refresh service something that was not only never explained to me. It was also incomplete and I didn't get all of the services that came with that. My last day I didn't get any service, but at that point, it was pretty irrelevant. This was my first time staying at a Fairfield Inn and suites property. Normally, I choose the Residence Inn. I will probably return to that moving forward. The breakfast was decent day one, options were not as good day too, day three same food as day one however it was watery eggs, and cold sausage and really not worth eating. Overall, not the best experience, but you don't know until you try.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Charlotte Belmont - Guest room

Home2 Suites by Hilton Charlotte Belmont

I would strongly recommend staying away from Hilton Home2 Suites Belmont…read more My family and I stayed at this hotel for nearly 12 weeks due to a plumbing leak at our home. I'll start with the one positive: the housekeeping staff is excellent--very kind, hardworking, and our room was clean upon check-in. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. At check-in, we were told extended-stay guests receive housekeeping three times per week and were asked which days we preferred. That schedule never happened. Our room was repeatedly skipped or pushed back due to staffing shortages, with priority given to check-outs. This is not the fault of the cleaning staff, who are clearly overworked, but rather a management issue. This Hilton-brand hotel frequently did not have enough linens to service all rooms. On multiple occasions, staff had to ask guests to turn in dirty towels just so more could be washed. There were also times when kitchen dishcloths and towels ran out before they reached our room. In December, a Hilton brand inspector visited, and management clearly knew ahead of time--there was sudden cleaning and painting. One concerning issue involved breakfast sanitation. Normally, there was one shared gallon of milk for all guests. The day before the inspector arrived, this was replaced with individual milk bottles, only to return to the shared gallon a few days later. Management claimed this was a coincidence, which raises concerns about consistency and sanitation standards. There are many transient workers who stay here, and it appears to be the primary clientele the hotel caters to. If that suits your needs, this may work for you. However, if you expect consistent Hilton standards, I would recommend considering the Holiday Inn Express or Fairfield Inn in Belmont instead.

Unfortunately, that excitement slowly faded as the day went on. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk. We waited about 5-10 minutes before anyone checked us in. I mentioned it was our first visit so we opted for a full tour, but the welcome felt rushed and incomplete. We also noticed other guests being offered drinks upon arrival nothing was offered to us. We headed to the Aqua Lounge to relax and decided to order food. There was no staff in sight, so I eventually walked downstairs to place the order myself. The food was underwhelming, and it took 40 minutes for a turkey BLT, no napkins, it was an overall poor experience. We wanted to enjoy the hot tub but the jets were broken. You'd think everything would be fully functional in a hotel/spa of this caliber. I don't mind paying an automatic service charge when service is actually provided, but that wasn't the case here. I find that staff is less likely to care when the gratuity is automatic, which held true at this spa. The spa itself is beautiful, serene, and well designed. Our technicians, Renata and Kieyan, were professional, warm, and truly the highlight of the entire visit. If I were rating solely based on them, it would be a full five stars. If you're only looking for a great massage, I'd recommend this spa. If you're seeking a full luxury spa experience, go elsewhere.

We stayed here for the July 4th holiday weekend. Compared to our prior five-star hotel experiences,…read morethis property unfortunately ranks at the bottom. The outdoor temperatures in Charlotte were soaring, making a functional AC an absolute necessity. Unfortunately, something was grossly wrong with ours. The first night, we assumed we just hadn't adjusted the thermostat correctly. By the second night, despite tweaking the settings, the room was still stifling. We called the front desk and they dispatched a technician. He informed us that he adjusted the system to a "VIP setting of 60°F" and promised the room would chill down. While this made the temperature slightly more bearable, it never actually cooled the room down properly. He also offered a bizarre explanation that the AC system resets to a higher temperature if it doesn't detect movement--which makes zero sense for a hotel room where guests are trying to sleep. Overall, this was not the quality or performance we expected from a Ritz-Carlton. Street noise was another major issue; the traffic and city sounds were loud enough that I had to wear earplugs both nights. On a positive note, the general customer service was decent. The pool area and hot tub were amazing, and we were even able to catch a distant view of the holiday fireworks from up there. However, breakfast at the 15th-floor restaurant was strictly average. Given the premium price point, the foundational elements--like a quiet room and functional climate control--simply missed the mark.
