I went here for a reception here. This is a hidden gem located right outside of downtown Charlotte. I visit Charlotte a lot, but hadn't heard of this place. I did not stay here overnight, but the reception was beautiful. I loved the old historic feel to the inn. All of the decor was beautiful. The catering company was very friendly. The food we ate was amazing. This place is very small for an intimate reception. I felt like all the rooms where full very quickly. Overall I had a good time. Enjoyed the historic nature of the Inn. Would love to stay here one day. I will update the review then.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with The Morehead Inn. I remember first walking in when I was looking for wedding venues and thinking this was a dream come true. Dorrys did everything to make the day perfect. We were in constant contact over my few months of planning and the day was absolutely perfect. We rented the entire inn for the evening of the wedding and it was like having a party in your own home. It was cozy, comfortable and beautiful. I keep thinking of all the other life events I want to celebrate while I'm there like baby showers, birthday parties, anniversary parties... I just loved it! We stayed in the Mt. Vernon room and the bed was so extremely comfortable. We plan on coming back each year for our anniversary and will always recommend it to our family and friends. Thank you Dorrys and your amazing team for making my dream wedding happen. I will remember that day forever and always.

My husband and I got married here 5/21 and I cannot rave enough about the inn and the staff. Our wedding was exactly what we envisioned, with guests wandering between rooms and enjoying all the inn has to offer. Every employee from the catering team, to hotel staff and the amazing Dorrys herself, were so friendly/welcoming and attentive. We rented all the rooms at the inn as well so late night we ordered pizza and hung out by the fire pits till quite late. The food is amazing - ORDER THE LAMB KOFTA OMGGGGGGGG, and everything went without a hitch. Truly a magical space.

Recently stayed 2 nights in the second floor unit in the carriage house. The unit was quiet, clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the window air conditioner kept the unit comfortable. The bathroom was clean and spacious with probably the best water pressure I have ever experienced. The made to order breakfast and dining room were lovely and the coffee was great. This is not a modern inn, more stately with much charm. The common rooms are lovely. The birds kept in one room were pretty amazing. Also met Elvis the cat who was very friendly. The staff was great. Only had a small electrical issue in my unit, but would definitely stay here again.

I need to give a HUGE shoutout to the Morehead Inn!! The employees make this place so much more than what you expect! Let me begin by saying that I made my first reservation a few weeks ago when I heard that we were expecting poor weather conditions and that the roads would be treacherous. I needed a place to stay that would be close my place of employment so that I could get in safely. My reservations made, I had no idea what to expect. I arrived and was quickly given my room key. As soon as I entered my room I was overwhelmed by the creature comforts of crisp clean linens, no hotel smells, a 4 poster bed, the complete comforts of home! The Nest soaps and lotions made me feel amazing! This Inn had a room that you could grab yourself a free soda or coffee, water just amazing. The antique furniture that was so well cared for, the adorable finches in the cage. Jeez what can I tell you. Then came the following day, Dear Lord could this place get ANY BETTER?? I'd have been happy with just the Keurig coffee but NO you absolutely must stay for breakfast, I mean it is included in the price.. the breakfast was delicious!!! The coffee here is an absolute must. So let me be completely honest with you here... since we have had so many weekends of snow/ice with unknown road conditions I have taken the opportunity to continue to make my reservations here! By the time I would have paid for a hotel uptown then include my breakfast; I would end up paying the same price and NOT had all the comforts of home! If you are looking for a place that will love on you, give you a homey room and all the privacy you need/want, they this little gem is perfect for you! You need to give yourself a little love!! Also, if not for work, I'd have had a little romantic retreat here! Amazing place for a little romance, just saying!

Thank you Dorrys and Karen for helping create a perfect wedding day! I have worked as a planner, over 15 years, at numerous Charlotte venues. But, the professionalism, warmth and creativity, MHI and Something Classic, brought to this weekend's wedding, was stellar. Unfortunately, the rain caused a plan "B" scenario, but it did not dampen the evening or disappoint the fabulous couple. Karen created the most breathtakingly lovely florals and decor, befitting the historic inn. Dorrys and her crew were spot on and at times going far beyond duty, to assure a smooth event. The food was fabulous, the recently updated space was elegant, and again, the warmth and care put into hospitality and service made a truly memorable evening. I highly recommend this venue!

Oh and the cherry blossoms got you and extra star

You get what you pay for! So stay here if you like cats, and at your breakfast table ! Host... What host? How do you run a BNB and not have a host? Oh and last thing that shouldn't be over looked, the shower. Fix the shower head in the Solarium!! For future cheapo's like myself. So you ask why 2 stars, simple it was location location. Great neighborhood, and very near downtown Charlotte. I shot for the moon and only found 2 stars at this place. Plenty of room for improvement

If you need a place for a company get together, this is it! I was able to visit The Morehead Inn for a small company meeting of around 20 people and it was nice and cozy in the room they provided us with. When I first arrived, I noticed how it the plants were well kept and there wasn't that much parking. If you come here, I would highly recommend carpooling. From the parking lot, I was able to walk right to the conference room they had for us. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I went back in time. The decorations there were beautiful and made me feel like I had to drink tea with my pinky out. The only gripe I have about their decorations was that they had plates with Slytherin colors. How can they support the evil house in Harry Potter!?!?! Other than that, everything was perfect. They do not have that many bathrooms, but it is understandable since it is an old house. I wouldn't want them to change that anyways. I wasn't able to explore more in the Inn, but all the things I was able to see I loved. The staff was also very friendly, so kudos to that!

Gorgeous B and B bristling with antique furnishings and charm. Staff was wonderfully attentive. Best breakfast in Charlotte.

It's a beautiful hotel inside. Very modern interior design and the room I'm staying at is kept very keep and accommodates all my needs, especially a fridge that actually is cold. I've been to so many hotels where the fridge wasn't properly working or was unable to keep my foods cold. Staying on the 5th floor, I had to scan my room key to gain access and there is a security guard posted by the door all night; I'd say security is pretty good here and allows guests to feel safe. The mini mart located near the front desk sells a wide variety of snacks and drinks, including alcohol beverages till 2am. They also provide complimentary breakfast starting 6am and the menu choices were great! My only complain is how small the parking lot is, but there are two spots for Diamond Elite members and a Tesla charging spot. They need to enforce it so non EV vehicles can't park there because I've seen non EVs parked there taking up valuable charging time from EVs. Really enjoying my stay here and definitely would be the hotel of choice if I'm back in the area. If you're a IHG member, definitely should be a must to spend your time here.

My wife and I ended up here unexpectedly after our flight was canceled due to an incoming snowstorm. Since the JW Marriott wasn't open during my last visit to Charlotte, I made a point to stay here during this short, unplanned stop. We arrived late on a Friday night, which didn't leave much time to explore the hotel's amenities, but the stay still left a strong impression--both good and not-so-good. The guest rooms are sleek, modern, and undeniably luxurious, with a sophisticated design that feels appropriate for a newer urban JW property. The glass shower was spacious and attractive, though oddly there was no body wash provided, and the drain was clogged--small details, but noticeable at this level. The mattress, unfortunately, was extremely firm--uncomfortably so for me--and made for a restless night. Because our luggage was still stuck at the airport, we requested several basic toiletries. Despite assurances, they never arrived. On the positive side, room service is available 24 hours, and the food was excellent--fresh, well-prepared, and delivered promptly. The Executive Lounge is also a standout: beautifully designed and offering a strong breakfast spread that made the morning far more enjoyable. Ben at the front desk the next morning deserves special mention. He was attentive, professional, and genuinely responsive in addressing the issues we experienced the night before, which helped restore some confidence in the stay. One lingering question: I don't quite understand why an urban hotel charges a Daily Destination Fee. While the fee can be offset with credits toward room service or dining, it still felt out of place for a downtown business-oriented property. I've stayed at JW Marriotts in several other cities and have consistently found their service to be a strength. That's why I was surprised that service here didn't quite meet those expectations. The hotel itself is beautiful and well-located, but smoother execution and attention to detail would bring the experience in line with the JW standard.

I was asked by Elon Law to teach a night class in Charlotte and they graciously got me a hotel at the Hilton in downtown Charlotte. Sounded great and I was excited... And then I arrived. Let's see.... There was a long line at the reception and it took quite a while till I got to the front of line to be helped. Then I was told that the rooms would not be available for 2 hours even though it was already 2 hours beyond the check-in time. No accommodation for that mishap other than the offer to leave my bags and wander around. This was awful because I had to teach in an hour! Thank God they did find a room that was ready and so I asked where I could park the car and I almost had a heart attack when she told me it was $35 to park my car. Are you freaking kidding me? The room itself was close to $200. Seriously? I don't know why I asked the next question, although I knew what the answer would be as I timidly asked, "Does this include breakfast?" Of course it doesn't. And if you want a piece of toast and a cup of coffee, that's going to cost you close to $20. This place is a freaking rip-off! I greed to pay the damn $35 and was told that if I park on the fourth floor there is a walkway right into the hotel with my room key. So I parked the car where she said and went to the door and kept swiping and swiping and swiping and could not get in. Finally, I called downstairs and they sent somebody up to let me in to only discover that they share the parking lot and access with the Hampton inn. Incredibly confusing. That's why my key did not work. So I had to take all of my stuff back down to the lobby again and find my way to the Hilton elevator. By the time that nightmare was solved, that was the end of my shower and resting and it was time to leave for teaching I came back after teaching quite hungry but I was not about to spend $150 for an M&M peanut that was for sale in the lobby. I went back to my room, had a bottle of water to only discover that they want $2. Do me a favor Hilton inn. Next time just charge us $1,000 for the night and let it include breakfast and parking. Again, I am very appreciative of Elon University putting me up for the night but next time I'm going to see if they can put me in another place. Maybe a place that charges a normal price, is not terribly confusing and actually includes breakfast and parking for the exorbitant fee. There's a second chapter to this review. and It truly proves that good customer service can mean everything! So as I was checking out the following morning, the woman at the registration named Ebony asked me the infamous, "How was your stay?" And my reply was, "Do you want the polite response or the real response?" with which she replied, "The real response, absolutely!" So I began to tell her how my room wasn't ready and I was going to have to wait 2 hours. I told her how the woman at the registration desk did not offer me anything for that delay other than I could leave my bags behind the counter. I told her how they finally found me a room but told me nothing about the Hilton gold honors I was entitled to. I told her how confusing it was in the garage to find the right way to the hotel. I told her how horrified I was about the $35 parking fee. Ebony was so sympathetic to my frustration and determined to give me top customer service, that she did not charge me for the parking and gave me a Hilton Gold perk I was entitled to and got a beautiful breakfast to go. Ebony turned everything around for me. I got a delicious omelet with wheat toast, made a hot cup of coffee, got into my car with a new attitude and traveled back to Greensboro. I still think the hotel charges too much, should not be charging for parking, should be offering a breakfast for that price and should explain how to navigate the parking lot since the dual hotels sharing the same garage. But, they also have Ebony who knows how to treat a customer! Thank you Ebony! And Hilton... Get your act together!!!

Staff is a 12 out of 10. Valet super nice and helpful, check in and front desk staff always efficient and a delight to deal with same for housekeepers or any other staff we met along the way. This is the only hotel I have stayed at in the States that I think their bathroom is about comparable to ours at home. There is a separate space for the commode which offers some nice privacy if 2 are sharing the room. Housekeepers were adorable they placed out toiletries on emerald green cloths on the counter I truly believe the prettiest place in Charlotte to see the sun rise is at the indoor pool and spa area. It is gorgeous. Love that the pool area is more spa pool vibes with spa music. Hot tub is turned on by a button panel on the wall. Inside the hot tub there is a place to turn up or down the intensity of the jets. The hot tub has pretty colors in it from the underwater lighting. There is a great array of seating without feeling crowded. Meticulously cleaned. Like any time of day the indoor pool space was clean. I do like what they use instead of chlorine it was more gentle on my hair and skin. TV is a bit below average. Streaming speed is pretty slow. Limited on which streaming services that can be accessed. Additionally, the volume jumps a lot like the tv can be unable to be heard you turn the volume up and it is good. Then a second later it is super loud. Spouse said most modern tvs have an auto feature that manages this. But this is on Marriott and not the hotel as with some research it showed this is a pretty common issue most folks have about the tvs. We are buying a Roku stick to try and use in the future to access other streaming services we pay for at home. The beds are better than other hotels in the Marriott family but spouse and I still find them a bit uncomfortable. I would like to have them a more memory foam material than the spring with pillow top. Wardrobe was awesome it is a nice size. Lights up when the doors are opened and has a pretty floral scape along the back of it. I was able to keep my carry on sized suitcase in there. Spouse was able to hand my dress and his sports coat and pants for event we were going to. Room had plenty of counter space in the room and bathroom. This was great. Oddly there seemed to be drums that started playing outside at like 9am on Saturday that woke us both up. There was a wedding going on that weekend and I know they had some breakfasts not sure if there was maybe a morning ceremony too? Noise didn't last super long but woke us both up. The windows you can hear a fair amount of noise through from the street. Ordered room service I think 3 times. Very excellent experience each and every time. Each item was cooked perfectly and things like grilled chicken breast were still juicy and not overcooked. My K Lounge review will be separate from hotel but same 5/5. We enjoyed our stay. It came with a fully stocked fridge and full bar but I would have preferred a regular microwave and mini fridge for me to use for my own items. They did supply bottles or cartons of water and the bell hoppers were top notch coming and going. I like how the toilet area was separate from the bathroom space. Unfortunately the linen has that usual industrial smell which is why I travel with my own comfort as you can see from the pic. One annoying thing was the length of time it took for the water to get hot. If you don't have cash to tip, they provide a QR code in the room to tip those that helped you during your stay. All of the furnishings were comfortable, the room was clean, and everything operated as it should. Despite it not being a true 2-room suite, I had plenty of space. Breakfast was easy as I made my way through. However, as I was cleaning up there was a LONG line to get through the hot line. I recommend not waiting until the last minute to get breakfast or you may encounter something similar. I'd loved being able to walk around Uptown and really appreciated this location. I'd definitely stay here again.

I always love that that embassy suites offers happy hour and breakfast so that's mainly why I selected this location for my work trip. There is an indoor pool on the second floor as well (if you're into that) the location is prime for the convention and then NASCAR Hall of Fame, which are right across the street as well as a Buffalo wild wings. I really enjoyed my sleep here. The bed was super comfy and the air-conditioning worked great! They also have a little mini market downstairs if you need snacks or drinks

Then I wanted a snack before I went out to my event tonight, and she sent me to Whole Foods around the corner. So far this place is great. I can't wait to have the complimentary breakfast tomorrow down in the lobby area. My guts tell me it will also be five stars!!!

As you can see on my video the suite was spotless and believe me I'm the type of person that will pass my hand in the furniture to check for dust and this place was dust free, not even lint from cleaning, the carpet OMG beautiful, I even walk barefoot not like a hotel in Cherokee NC that the carpet was filthy and sticky, the receptionist Tina is such a lovely person, she even check with me few minutes after my arrival via text and she did answer it back I can't be more than happy, I think my video talks by itself Thank you so much Tina and Maria for the nice experience, it was greatly appreciated. Uptown

I'm truly conflicted about this review…read more.. I spent the weekend at the Charlotte Courtyard for pleasure, and there are some things they did great, and some things that definitely feel short. On the side of awesomeness: Their location is incredible!!! Seriously, you'll be hard pressed to get a better location in Downtown Charlotte. Situated right in the center of Uptown, they are close to myriad bars and restaurants, nightlife, and activities. Close enough to everything to be walkable, just far enough away to avoid the weekend bar insanity. Also, the staff was incredible!! Everyone I interacted with was kind, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure my needs and wants were met. Last thing, the price was great!! Okay, the shortfalls: the rooms! While the beds and pillows were comfortable, the decor is about 20 years in need of renovation. Definitely circa 2002. Dark, dark walls made the room feel like a cave. And the ancient Motel 6 window air conditioning unit was so loud, I couldn't run it at night because it woke me up every time it kicked on. Also, they do have a lively rooftop pool. I heated. And it's in between two four-story wings of the hotel, so it gets minimal sun. And even on the hottest days (I was there in early Sept), the pool was an icy 50 deg. So again, I'm torn. Would I stay there again? Maybe. But at least I'd know what I'm in for. And now...so do you. And knowing is half the battle.

So I decided to give Courtyard a shot and it wasn't the best experience. Bottom line, if you're in…read moreneed of some rest and relaxation, I HIGHLY suggest choose a different hotel. First, the positives. It's located in the heart of uptown, which makes walking anywhere quick and simple. There is a public parking garage accessible from the hotel. The room is large enough for 2 people and the water pressure is top tier. Unfortunately, a fire alarm woke us up one morning. Emergency vehicles were arriving so we thought it was pretty serious. The fire alarm message directed us to use the stairs to exit and this became confusing. We followed an emergency exit sign which led us to a corner of confusion. One sign pointed in the direction we were heading and the other pointed in the direction we just came from (see picture). We decided to keep heading down our initial path, and the couple behind us decided to backtrack. Our path led us down a stairwell to a door that stated "not an exit" but also said "emergency exit" on the handle. We went through the door, which placed us on the 10th floor of the parking garage. From there, we had to find yet another way out... Ultimately, we all made it out, with no explanation of the cause. If this was a real emergency, there may have been some serious consequences. I hope they can add some clarity to their emergency exit signage during their remodel. More negatives. We stayed in room 314, and there was no headboard. There were only some weird, foam pieces with pillow cases. You can feel the springs in the bed, as it is VERY firm. If you're a side sleeper like me, this will hurt your back! I didn't know popcorn ceilings were still a thing, but there was some questionable fluid on it. And the bathroom seemed clean, until you looked at all of the hair that was left in many areas. Lastly, you can hear all of the grinding, drilling, and pounding from construction and every conversation in the hallway. If you choose to stay here, good luck
