Got to the hotel and up to our room and the room was not fully cleaned. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and finger prints on the stainless steel refrigerator. The worst thing was the floors - the grout is BLACK throughout the hotel. Absolutely filthy. You can see some parts up against the trim and in corners where it is a light gray and what the color should be. There were also visible stains on the carpet in our room. Tried to get the dishwasher going and couldn't do so. Ended up having to call maintenance who then had to call someone else. Our room was poorly stocked. No sponge, no extra toilet paper, no extra dishwasher detergent, no shampoo or body wash in the shower dispensers. At one point during our stay our kid got sick on one of the beds. We stripped the sheets and called housekeeping. They arrived quickly but when I asked for new towels we were told they don't have any more. I still don't understand how that is possible at a hotel. We traveled with small children and many of the kids channels on the tv did not work due to "no internet access". Chrome cast also didn't work. One of the two tv remotes was out of batteries. You really can just see the half hearted attempted to keep the place running. And possibly what they did to finish building. A family member stayed at the same hotel in a different room and she had a different shower head than us which had no water pressure. The furniture is bolted to the walls with L brackets secured to the outside of the furniture and the wall. We all showered and washed everything that was in the hotel as soon as we got home. Spare yourself and find a different hotel.

But recently in the last few years, we have noticed a shift (some things they may not directly have control over). But this past weekend was bad and we felt it was time to update our review to reflect what is happening now. From the second you walk into their lobby, throughout the hallways, seeping into the rooms, and even penetrating the waterpark areas, all you can smell is that legalized recreational product (I'm sure you can guess what I'm talking about). It's disgusting, lingering scent persisting everywhere. It clings onto your clothing, suitcase, EVERYTHING. And if you get a room that was previously occupied by guests who partake in that, it reeks of it for your whole stay! Adding to this, you can continuously find bandaids, hair and hair extensions floating in the water and lying around on the ground. Many children/teens are running wild (being very disrespectful) with no adult in sight. This place has lost its charm for us and it truly is sad. This was a vacation we looked forward to annually with our children and have created so many beautiful memories but sadly, it no longer does and then to add the price continuously increasing (which we knew would happen). If the smell of recreational products, filthy areas, and disrespectful guests is your vibe, then this is the place for you. What once used to be our favorite has sadly shifted over the last few years.

I have no idea why Hilton doesn't have a standard anymore, but they're making me wish I was Marriott lifetime instead of Hilton lifetime. I don't like the rolling barn doors on bathrooms. This is a Home 2 feature. It's loud at night and wakes your spouse. I also don't appreciate the automatic light switch. The night lights are enough if you're using the bathroom. Has anyone tried thinking about the guest when they build these? This place doesn't really remind me of a typical HGI. Not a fan.

The first room I was given had hairs everywhere on the sheets, dirt smudges on the covers, and disgusting skin flakes everywhere. The second room I was moved to had hairs everywhere and little spiders in the sheets (see attached picture for one of the spiders I saw). I went down to the front desk and asked if house cleaning could change the sheets, or if I could be moved to another clean room. The front desk lady told me they had no house cleaning on staff at that time, and that she did not want to go up to the rooms and make sure the next one I got was clean. She then recommended I go somewhere else to spend the night. Management has refused to provide a refund, even though I did not spend the night and was essentially told to go somewhere else by their own staff. I will be disputing the charge but wanted to warn people of the service they may receive while they are here. I had an absolutely awful experience, am still trying to get my money back, and will never visit this location again.

I was told it's fine to cancel. Don't worry about it. Cancel my reservation at 12 o'clock. Now on January 29 I receive a charge on my credit card for my room stay and late cancellation. Called the hotel and the representative I spoke to was very nice. She said that she was given orders to tell everyone that's company policy and no cancellations are allowed before 24 hours.

We had paid in advance for an all inclusive dinner package to celebrate our anniversary, however on the night of dinner my husband wasn't feeling well and i asked our server if it was possible to box up everything and bring it to our room. One of the managers came over to speak to me, and was extremely understanding. She as well as two staff members brought our dinners, dessert & our bottle of champagne all to our room for us. Every member of staff we came by that worked here was extremely pleasant, and service didn't wavier regardless if it was breakfast, dinner in the formal dining room or even a drink in the pub. I can absolutely see why people have their weddings here, the grounds are beautiful set right on the river and the Inn itself is such a unique place in itself. After trying to get it fixed for a hr there was nothing that you could do to fix it. As we are walking out the door. We were told. We hope you have a good night. If anyone gets turned away from firekeepers I suggest trying the baymont hotel in battle creek . Great service, very nice and helpful staff, awesome room. For dinner we recommend clares on the river.
