Stayed at Fairfield while passing through Meridian -- it landed somewhere between "meh" and "memorable," but leaning toward the latter. The rooms were clean and tidy -- not fancy, but the kind of clean that makes you feel like you won't get bedbugs. The hotel sits tucked off the highway so you're spared the constant road-rage soundtrack, which for a road-warrior like me was a big plus. Added bonus for me: my austistic son was able to access the pool on Black Friday. While he froze his little butt off, at least he was happy! Staff and crew got extra brownie points: checkout was smooth, front-desk couldn't have been friendlier, and everything felt handled with a "we got you" vibe. All in all -- a little better than average, with good overall quality and cleanliness. Worth a night or two if you find yourself in Meridian. read more

It's always such a letdown when you book a room after seeing so many good reviews saying it's a clean hotel with nice rooms, only to be disappointed once you arrive. We booked this hotel for one night during our trip to Florida. I will say the staff was nice at check-in, and the lobby seemed clean and well-kept. Let me start with the room. There were several spots in the carpet where square holes had been cut out, and the carpet was just placed back down over the top. There was also some nasty crud on the shower curtain. I'm not sure if it was mold or something else. The air conditioner sounded like it was on its last leg and was so loud it seemed like it was about to take off and leave the room. I also tried to call the front desk using the phone in the room, but it no longer worked. Overall, the cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired. On the day of check-out, we went down for the free breakfast, and I'm thankful my wife noticed that the chocolate milk had gone bad. It was chunky and slimy. We also heard another small child say, "This milk is slimy." That was enough breakfast for us, so we decided to go back to the room. Not long after, we heard a knock at the door, and within just a few seconds, a housekeeping employee came barging in. Talk about awkward. I'm just glad we weren't staying another night and were able to get out of there. I'm giving it two stars only because the staff was always nice. read more

Easy check in. Staff was great! Easy check out, Staff again was great! Was a points stay....without any Marriott taxes....a new thing they are doing in some areas...charging taxes on points stays. Parking was easy. Bed was firm and comfy. Bathroom did the job well. TV worked, internet "higher speed" did not work, but base internet is very fast here. I would stay here again for sure. read more

This was literally a one night booking for my wife and I as we made a very long trek to move my ill mom, at the time, from her CA residence to AL where she lived out her days with my sister. We needed a little rest and showers so I found this hotel on Booking.com app.... I can't say anything bad. It met our needs. While the property is a bit dated, it's still in decent shape. Check-in was easy, the room was clean, and the bed comfortable. The HVAC system was a bit loud and I just shut it off for my stay. The most annoying was the shower, while there is plenty of water pressure the shower head was so crusted with calcium you got a trickle. IMHO there is no doubt housekeeping could have reported this as it had been like this for quite some time. The only saving grace was when I checked out and let the front desk know, she immediately called maintenance and engaged them to fix the issue. This proactive move is the reason I gave them a better rating than I had planned. read more

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. The ONLY redeeming quality about this hotel was the friendly receptionist. We stopped for the night during our 2 day road trip and upon arrival, it looked nice. Our first room was on the 1st floor and as soon as we walked down the hallway there was a bucket collecting dripping water...except it wasn't. Water was all over the carpet. Our room looked like an absolute crime scene happened in there. There were brown stains all over the box spring (which had no bed skirt on it) and the linens were stained. The dresser was broken and barely held together, along with the shower rod that looked as if someone tried to do pull ups on it. The hotel staff quickly moved us to another room, which was a bit cleaner but still not great. The bathroom door didn't latch or lock. We decided to not use the bed linens and since we were only going to be there for less than 8hrs, we slept on top of the comforter with our own blankets. The pool was the final straw. We looked for a hotel specifically with a pool because we have 3 kids who needed to burn off some energy. The pool room was moldy, unkept and the pool had so many wads of hair floating that we decided against it. Grossed out is an understatement. I will be contacting Marriott today for them to know about our stay as well. Do not recommend. read more

Dirty -unwashed sheets on bed, when I went down to the lobby to explain the situation they were not surprised and the response was I don't think I have a clean set for you and we're fully booked. Found bed bugs in my bed. Came to town to work at the hospital for business. Woke up the first morning to bed bugs in the bed. First contact with the GM was fine, offered room move, pest inspection from Orkin... Orkin confirmed no bugs in my things (ALWAYS zip up your suitcase). Came back from a long day of working to get my bag out of the room. Room is still torn apart from inspection. Go to the front desk, asked for a room move, and denied they said the hotel was sold out. I am not going back in that room! After a while they found me a room, feel like it was their last sell room...loud AC, etc. INSPECT THE HECK out of the bed, take a shower, pass out. Ask the GM for compensation the next day, she tells me to call the person who booked my room.... our own executive assistant. Contact Marriott, they refer me back to the GM who again denies any compensation. Very disappointing. read more

I stayed here November 2024. At 1 am the fire alarm went off, only in my room. I checked with the front desk and she advised that she will move to another room. I received an email that she would comp my room for the night and give me a new room because they did not know why the alarm activated. I do not smoke due to my allergies. The charges are still on my bill and I have no recourse. The email that was sent mysteriously disappeared. I know I was not dreaming. I went to corporate and still have not resolved my complaint. I contacted the manager Cantea King and she refused my call nor will she respond to me by email. This is the worst customer service ever. I will not recommend staying here ever again. read more

Oh my!!! Chose this hotel because of the rating and because it was a Marriott. The lobby was clean and hallways were clean. The room seemed clean but the bathroom faucet was broken so was the cover for the AC unit. The bath gel container was empty, the towels were thinned from wear and tear and OMG the sheets they were absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I was only spending one night and told the front desk about the broken faucet that they offered to fix but I was in my way out to an event so I told them not to do it until I got back. They never called to check. When we finally hit the sack, I was so disappointed . Since we were leaving early in the morning I slept sitting up and was up early. And again to a disappointing shower due to the very small bar of soap and towels that were like exfoliating pads. At 3 am that morning, I was so ready to leave. All I could think of was getting back home to take a nice hot shower, drying off with my towels from Costco and going to bed in my sheets from there as well. Marriott needs to do better. There comes a time when these things must be thrown out and rooms inspected. SHAME!! read more

We stayed here because it was a Marriott property and we love the beds at Marriotts. The good was that it was a newer hotel and the beds were comfortable. The bad was they only had one person on a Saturday night with a almost full hotel. She was completely overwhelmed and it took way to long to check in. The bedroom was clean which was great, so why the 3 star rating? The smoke alarm was hanging from the ceiling. It took over two hours to get our room from 73 to 70 degrees with the very noisy in room wall air conditioner. The sound of running water all night was heard through the wall in the piping next to the King Size Bed. read more

I wanted to share my experience at the Fairfield Inn in Meridian in August 2019. I was staying visiting a business while also holding a recruiting event. The hotel and amenities were outstanding, but I wanted to share how the staff helped me. During the recruiting event, I had candidates coming in to meet. The front desk team and management guided the people to the meeting room, like my own staff. The room I used was outfitted with plenty of electrical, video, chalk/writing boards, A/V and more. More than I needed at a great price. My event was beyond successful. I was able to find 5 new hires, and I had plenty more that I would have hired if I needed more. Thanks to the Fairfield/Marriott Team. This is why I always stay at a Marriott... period. read more

What a terrible experience. Check in was fine but the room was horrible. We had ANTS CRAWLING ALL OVER OUR BATHROOM! They were mainly coming out of the electric outlet in the bathroom but we saw others around the window area as well. Not sure how ANTS made it up to the FOURTH FLOOR, but I took it as a sign of poor cleaning somewhere in the hotel. The thermostat was also wonky. When we called to complain about the ants (we were bitten), the staff said they would tell the manager. The manager, Teresa Fuller, took her time responding to us, then insinuated we were making up a story about ants being in the room despite us having photo and video evidence. It's now 10:19am. At 10:10, I went to the free breakfast with two toddlers and the woman there just stared at me while my kids sat down. I said "Hi" and she said "Breakfast ended at 10:10". There were still beverages, cereal, fruit, danishes, etc. out so I looked at her and asked if my kids could grab something. She just looked confused, and there was an awkward silence. I have traveled all over the world, and I can't say I've found a cleaner hotel or nicer staff. The staff were warm, welcoming, friendly, and attentive. They honestly made staying at a hotel feel like home. Upon check in, we were told there was a complimentary dinner in the lounge! It didn't disappoint. We had fun chatting with the staff over a big bowl of chili. The hotel looks brand spankin' new. Not a speck of dirt anywhere and smells wonderful. Nice rooms with big bathrooms. Paul Mitchell shampoos and conditioners in the bathroom. Extremely hot and immediate hot water. Big TV with tons of channels. Huge elevators so you don't have to fuss about getting all your luggage up to the room. Breakfast was a feast. Omelettes, scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit including berries, fresh waffles, Chobani yogurt, amazing coffee, etc. I could go on and on! We left with full and happy bellies. We took advantage of the small gym, which was very nicely kept and stocked with water and towels. It was also incredibly clean. Will look for a reason to come back to Meridian just so I can stay here! read more

After traveling all day from Ohio to Mississippi, I checked into my reserved (by phone)room at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Meridian, MS. Not only was my reservation correct, the staff is very professional, very friendly and delivered hospitality at it's best. I stayed for a whole week here. The staff stayed the same all week. An employee buy the name of Von is one of the best. The room was spotless. Needing extra towels or anything else as a matter of fact was never an issue. The Manager was top notch and very friendly. I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for comfortable, clean and friendly place to stay. I give this place ten stars! Sincerely One Happy Visitor. read more

This is the third Marriott I've stayed at on this trip and by far the nicest. I was upgraded maybe because of status or because of my Marriott credit card but I am in a sweet very clean great couch nice bathroom perfect after two days of travel. Stayed at this location at the end of July, four nights. The property is brand new so it has that NEW HOTEL look and feel. The front desk staff were very pleasant and accommodating. When we checked in our rooms were not both ready, however, we were able to check in early and leave our bags in one of the rooms instead of having them in the hot car all day. The property is located far enough away from the freeway behind a hill so there is not much road noise. The beds are very comfortable, unfortunately, there is a train that blows in the early morning hours uncontrollably. My next Yelp is going to be to Amtrak. It was very disturbing. The continental breakfast had some hot options available - waffles, turkey sausage and egg substitues. The wifi is fast, I was able to upload video and photos quickly and completed my presentation in time. One day our room did not get cleaned, the front desk contacted head of housekeeping, Dorothy, and she came back in and made sure it was taken care of. That is above and beyond customer service. Overall this was a winner in the city of Meridian. We will definitely stay at this location again. read more

There's still construction debris outside (and it was a bugger finding the place), but hopefully they'll get a sign up soon and it won't be an issue. Highly recommend this brand new hotel, open about 4 months, as of July 2015. We called from the road, coming into Merdian, Mississippi, late at night, hadn't planned to stay there in advance. Most hotels in town were booked. Jonathan at front desk took our call, found a room to fit our needs and gave directions. He made sure upon arrival that we got the best rate he could offer. Jonathan gave special attention to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable upon check-in. The hotel is very attractive and looks nice, and has an indoor salt water pool. All staff friendly and helpful, including breakfast bar. Breakfast bar was good, including fresh fruit, and the coffee was good. The hotel is a little hard to find, as others wrote, but worth the effort to find it and stay here. We would happily stay here again! read more

The ladies at the front desk were amazing. The breakfast left little to be desired. The internet did not work at all, the front desk said they had been working on all night. This didn't bode well for us business travelers that needed to work. We would've missed it had we not been paying attention, the exit to the hotel isn't open yet so we had to do a little back tracking to get there. As a long time patron of Marriott properties this is the first location where I have experienced poor customer service by the front desk staff. Turns out the person that displayed such poor customer service skills was the front desk manager (Anita). I don't know if she was having a bad day or if she routinely treat customers as second class citizens. This lady was so unnecessarily mean and probably shouldn't be interacting with any customers. She even tried to discredit my military service by stating that the Marriott brand is going to stop offering the government/military rate at their properties. Then she stated that her particular property only had 10 rooms designated for the government/military rate. I told her that if she didn't have the room for the government rate, I will go next door to the Drury Inn. At this point, I told her Marriott is my first choice because I like their properties plus I'm an elite member. She just gave me a look as if she was thinking so what. I'm not even sure why she cared about my rate when I booked the room online anyway. I have stayed at this location on several different occasions, this is the first time I've had such a bad experience. I would give the rest of the features 5 stars. Recommend that the front desk manager get some remedial training and a stern reminder that she is representing Marriott. read more

Short handed at the front desk but the clerk was attentive and patient when I asked for a room away from the elevator and ice machine. This place was very hard to find since it has not been given and address even though they have been there almost a year. I called and they gave my a local hotel, The Drury Inn as a landmark. The entrance off the highway had concrete dividers blocking the entrance. After traveling all day it took an hour since my Garmin and smart phone couldn't help without the address . This property is brand new...and beautiful! They are still working on signage and making the entrance more accessible...but so worth figuring out! Our room was spotless, and well appointed with both, a microwave and refrigerator. The beds and linens were very luxurious. Breakfast was great, something for everyone...including the best cup of coffee I had had in a long time! Last but not least...the Staff was outstanding! We dragged in from a 12 hour drive, in the middle of the night, to be greeted with absolute hospitality. We requested toothpaste, and they sent up a little of everything to make sure we were covered! At breakfast their were several of the staff that greeted us, made sure we were happy, and had all that we needed! I have to specifically mention Von, she was very accommodating and friendly...she made our morning! Good job Fairfield! read more

Basically a brand new hotel.  The nicest Fairfield I've stayed in yet.  The set up in the rooms and bathroom reminds me of a nice Marriott.  The staff is super friendly.  The location is great as it's just a minute off the highway.  They have a social hour at night with snacks which is a nice touch.  Breakfast is typical Fairfield.  They have a nice indoor saltwater swimming pool.  Plenty of parking and well lit. Definitely recommend this as the place to stay in Meridian. read more
