It's a decent hotel. My room needed some touches of paint here and there. But it was clean. Positives: clean, fairly new (last 4 years?) decor and furniture, I liked the laminate floor as opposed to carpet because I had pets to clean up after. Negatives: Tiny fridge that didn't work (but was replaced), no working exhaust in the bath with an open shower concept, a minimalistic style room with no drawers or closed cabinets or closet (open hanging), hanging light was missing a shade, there was a leak upstairs that left a stain on the ceiling, and a large scuff mark on the wall, I couldn't get my electric window blind to roll up, no microwave, and no guest laundry. Not really the best setup for over a couple days stay. I stayed over a week with pets. (I'm comparing to Home 2 Suites where I usually stay which has a kitchenette with almost full fridge, microwave, sink, dish washer, optional hot plate, pans and dishes, a couch, and guest laundry for the same price - at least I get it the same price). Overall, I would rank it below Home 2 Suites for the lack of conveniences. So give it a 7 and H2S a 9. But the light laminate floors are a plus with pets! read more

1. They had no clean towels the first night we stayed. 2. The rooms were never cleaned. 3. The shower had hair and black stains in it. 4. The noise ordinance is for 9pm but the general manager asked us to quiet down our 1 year old children at 8pm. And told the staff she ran the cameras back to see. But wasn't able to check the cameras for who stole my niece sweater. 5. The tv didn't work the first night, had to go down stairs twice to get the remote fixed, because the phones in the room don't work. True by Hilton was a bit of a different experience from other hotels I have been in. They have a pool table and a nice concession stand surrounding the check-in which is centered in the lobby. There are different feeding areas for gathering and games for children as well. They have cute comfortable nook to sit in with computers and then out door seating area in the back of the hotel with the fire pit and even a grill and table for checkers. The room was very comfortable with pulldown shades that walked out most of the light from outside. Let me sleep in a bit longer. I was on the fourth floor, and I had absolute peace and quiet throughout the night. The bed was so comfortable and that saying a lot with someone who has pinched nerve back issues . There was a nice size flatscreen TV and plenty of good lighting in different areas of the room. There is no carpeting, which is nice and sanitary, but I put a towel down by my bed to make sure I wipe my feet before I get in it. I love whitening on the bed so that you can make sure it's clean before you get in it. The bed was firm enough with just the right softness, and the pillows were plump With a mixture, feather pillows, and fiber fill maybe. The bathroom was nice and modern with one sink and good size shower.They have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower which smells amazing. I don't usually use the hotel shampoo that are on the wall, but this one really was nice and I absolutely did use it. They also have hand wash and lotion and a hair dryer by the sink area. The reason I did give only four stars is because I had to switch rooms due to the fact that the first room bathroom was not cleaned properly. The commode had fecal matter on the inside of the toilet, The toilet rim had urine spots and public hair on it and you could see a ring due to the water stain as well meaning it had not been properly cleaned in a while and the second bathroom also had the ring, but appeared to have no fecal matter. There were also dirty handprints on the white door of the inside of the bathroom, which all tells me there is not enough time spent cleaning and checking these restrooms which to me is essential to have a clean sanitized bathroom. When I got into the second room as I'm turning on the TV while standing a huge cockroach ran out from under the bed and I stepped on it. I didn't mention this to the sweet young lady that was at the front desk after having moved me once. I got it up and didn't have any further problems with any type of bugs. The room seemed clean and with the surrounding woods I'm sure there's bound to be a bug every now and then somewhere. I guess. All of the staff are very friendly and greet you and say good morning and hello and we're very accommodating. Overall, I had a very nice night and would definitely stay in a true hotel including this one again. read more

This Tru is pretty much identical to every other Tru Hotel I've been to, which speaks to Tru's consistency. This location does have some Mississippi/Meridian flare like the mural in their gaming/lounge area The rooms are nice and clean. The furniture is practical, modern, and simplistic. There is a mini Fridays and tv... though I couldn't get my tv to turn to different channels The workout room offers a variety of machines, weight lifting options, as well as options for low impact workouts like. The complimentary breakfast is nothing overly fancy, but they do a good job offering some variety. We were also offered waters on arrival, and they had fresh/warm Ottis Spunkmeyer cookies in the lobby for guests The staff is very friendly. I was impressed with the personable nature of a handful of the front desk attendants. That being said, it took everyone a looking time to get checked in. Also, later in the week there was an issue with the credit card reader which caused a bit of a delay in getting people checked in and out In the evening the lobby is often full of people playing pool, drinking beer, and enjoying themselves. It looked like harmless fun, but this was practically every night. Also, a couple chairs in the lobby/business area looked to be stained from spills/messes, and this is prominent as the upholstery has such vibrant colors Some tips: If you're staying for a week or so, remember that Tru doesn't have a housecleaning option like most hotels. On our way to Texas from South Carolina we always use this hotel. The service is great, a modern and clean feel with efficient and friendly staff. The floors in the rooms are luxury vinyl not carpet, with comfortable beds and white linen, our minimum expectations of a hotel. The rooms and the hotel in general are clean. I have never been a fan of the hotel breakfasts offering as they are generally bland with rubbery eggs and sausage that give instant heartburn. I prefer a cooked breakfast with a choice of egg, meat, etc, a rarity in the more budget hotels. Tru offers a reasonable, better than many, breakfast. All stations are kept full so there are no delays. Our choice of hotel in the area. read more

The staff was so very nice when we arrived. The account that was associated with mine was NOT mine. This was odd due to departing TRU in Cheyenne, WY 3 days ago with the right info. Once we got that straight we were given our room. Upon arriving in the room we called the front desk with the missing security flap missing. Cookie Cutter Hotel But That's Not A Bad Thing I have stayed in a few Tru by Hilton locations in the last few years. I have to say despite the fact that they are all cookie-cutter clones of every other Tru, this is really a great chain of hotels. Modern, sleek and affordable Tru leads the way as an alternative to other hotel brands in this range. The Lobby and downstairs area are always bright with many things to do. I love how they post local info on the wall with things to do and places to eat. My room was as expected, a little small but well laid out with many modern conveniences. The Fitness center had newer equipment and I got a great workout in. I hung out downstairs in one of the cubicles and watched some NetFlix on my IPad while downing a few Ice cold beers. Second and last time I will stay here. The tv is very slow with any function, the guide always starts at the hotel channel. When you pick the channel it takes 10-15 seconds before the guide disappears. Nobody is ever at the front desk. Finally someone came around the door asking I am checking out and do I need a receipt. She sighed heavily and printed it out. I asked why no one was ever at the desk, she was very rude saying she was busy solving an issue. All I heard from that room they were in was loud laughing. She dismissed me and started walking away, I asked her name and was given a false one. Someone else came from that room asking what my problem was. Both were rude and unprofessional. Will never stay there and will tell others not to. If mgt reads this check out who was working 2/13/25 and get rid of them. I would give no stars if possible. read more

I have no idea how or why folks are giving this hotel anything above 3 stars. While it's uniquely decorated and the location is convenient, the rooms and lobby felt and looked dirty Our first room upon check-in had broken window shades that could not be pulled up; the chain was lying broken on the desk/shelf. We requested a new room. When we got to the new room, the wall thermostat was at 86 degrees and couldn't be adjusted. No idea how long the room had sat vacant. It smelled musty and the floors had stains. We did not end up staying at this hotel; it felt dirty and the rooms were not up to par. A better stay would be the Three Foot Hotel in downtown where we ended up booking a room instead. read more

Worst hotel experience ever. From the very beginning, we were speaking with an employee at the hotel who said he would call us back when we were making a reservation and he never did. We thought it was very overpriced, but our group was staying there, so we booked through Hilton.com. We had two adults staying in a room and they gave us two bath towels and 2 wash cloths for a two day visit. They did not service our room or bring any new towels. When we asked the girl at the desk for 2 towels, she gave us major attitude and would not give us towels. On our second day, I noticed they were giving a bag with 2 bottles of water to guests checking in. I asked if we could get some bottled water and she said it was only for check in. I explained that we weren't offered any when we checked in the day before and she said I could buy SmartWater, but she would not give me any. The rooms are small. They have no closet. The TV is complicated to operate. 2 nights cost $476. Definitely won't be back. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Our group had about 10 rooms and we all said we would never stay here again. read more

We enjoy staying at these hotels as even though they are designed to have the minimum in the rooms. The decor and amenities they do have are great. The employees we came into contact with were great. Breakfast had good choices including fresh fruit and a wide assortment of cereals, however the juice machine wasn't working this morning. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is cause the mattresses aren't that comfy like the ones we've had at other Hilton brand locations and hotels in general need to offer bath towels that are bigger than to use on a toddler. read more

Fantastic stay! My car broke down about 6 miles from this hotel and the employees were amazing. The woman at the desk made sure I had a room reserved on the phone so that I could check in right away when the tow-truck got to the hotel. I ended up wishing I could stay a few extra nights just to be able to lounge and spend time in the hotel. There were basket swings, comfy couches, and even a pool table! Breakfast wasn't very good, but it was free, so that didn't matter too much! They had a very well-stocked 24/7 shop. I loved the room - everything was modern and colorful and exciting. The walk-in shower was fantastic. I ended up in an accessible room as that was all they had left, but it was still amazing. A mini-fridge was in the room but there was not a microwave. There was a communal one downstairs though. The only issue I had with the room is that the duvet was made of really, really cheap polyester. If I end up in Meridian again, I will definitely be staying here! read more

Y'all, this is Hotel REDEFINED. I don't know why I've never tried booking this place... though, I know it's a fairly new Hilton chain. This time, we knew were staying for the night at Meridian so I checked on my ever-reliable Hotels.com app. It's showed up as "outstanding" on that app and 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor. I always check on Yelp and it's 4 stars. I knew I couldn't go wrong on this one! Especially since our hotel experience the other night was horrible! We arrived at 10:30 pm. I liked that they don't have the regular big bulky carts. Theirs looked like airport carts so it's a lot easier to navigate. Hubby checked us in and came out with a small bag with water bottles. Turns out, they honor our Hilton membership even though we booked through hotels.com. We got in to a really modern ambiance. It's very quaint and modern and everything else nice in between. We got to our room and settled quickly in bed. The boys are super tired but we managed to give them quick baths and it didn't take long before they are tucked in. I love the bathroom features! And I love the modern fixtures that made it a very efficient and functional room. The beds and pillows are super comfy. For our last night on the road, this is a great treat! Waking up to a wonderful breakfast selection is now cherry on top of the icing. There's reasonable amount of selections of food and it's certainly something that breaks away from the typical hotel blah breakfasts. The play area is also a wonderful addition. The boys really did enjoy that one. We paid $102 (without tax) for the night and it's definitely worth the buck! I highly recommend!! read more

The Tru in Meridian Mississippi was AWESOME! The staff was friendly, attentive, fast, and just fantastic is every way. The hotel was immaculate and those working were wearing masks and glove to protect us and themselves, very comforting. On our check-in last night, the girls were super helpful! They greeted us and even got us a coupon when we said where we were having dinner. Housekeeping brought our extra pillows super FAST! It was a much better experience than we've had lately at any hotels. This morning, the guys were fun and friendly! Greeted us, asked about our stay, shared breakfast selections, so great to have really good service!!! We just haven't seen that lately, and it was so appreciated. Also, the breakfast game was STRONG y'all! We've been getting like one piece of fruit and a no name brand granola bar...yuck! Our family opened those bags in the car and we were like WHOA! Otis Spunkermeyer muffins! Fruit that was clearly washed and wrapped! Honeybuns! Nutrigrain Bars! YAYYYYYYY!!! Can't wait to stay with Tru again, especially if it is in Meridian. read more

First time ever staying in Meridian, for one of my best friend's weddings and this hotel seemed to be one of the best choices. When I book hotels - I like to find modern, swanky, up to date properties and this particular hotel provided all three elements. I wish I would've gotten more pictures of the room and the lobby (game room, hangout area, breakfast area) because they did an excellent job with it. The rooms were smaller than a typical room but honestly it worked for us. The bathrooms were super updated and aesthetically pleasing. Of course it was newly built, so I expected it to be squeaky clean - which it was. The staff was overly nice and accommodate each and every request that was put forth. Def made my stay enjoyable in the small town of Meridian. I'll def be booking here again if I ever have to come back. read more

I really enjoyed it! Our stay was about 12 days after it opened. This hotel's design is all about efficiency. We arrived at Midnight at the end of a long work + driving day. We used the Hilton App to check-in, the digital key to let us into the building & room. We slept well. In the morning, we enjoyed breakfast, showers, & a little TV. Our water pressure & temperature felt good before getting on the road again. My fiancé wanted a more powerful vent in the bathroom. Showing my priorities, I enjoyed my bagel and the cream cheese, strawberry jelly Nutella add-Ons. Tried the glazed donuts - that flavorless. Suggest getting a local baker to supply them. Only one concern, housekeeping. Hair on shower wall and the body wash dispenser need to be refilled (empty). The bottle says 'squeeze gently.' For shampoo, I got 3x more than I thought I would. I lightly squeezed the conditioner and got just enough. The body wash may go quick since the device doesn't limit how much comes out per squeeze (light, gentle, or aggressive). I suggest the owner and Hilton look into using Purple Cloud Tech's Operations Optimization platform for hotels. It'll help avoid misses like shower gel & hairs. Overall a great stay - just one minor tweak that can keep us coming back. read more

Absolutely loved this hotel! Great tucked away spot with good parking but walking distance to places to eat. The lobby blowed me away!!! So spacious and loaded with contemporary furniture and designs! Incredible market to buy from, awesome couches and comfy seating options, pool table for entertainment, a whole bar sitting space with charging ports. They served a full hot breakfast from 6am-9am! Everyone was super kind and offered services and coffee 24/7! The whole place was clean, no smell of smoke or weed We stayed on the 3rd floor. We love the new trendy style of our room and gigantic tv! They are adding on so there was some construction, but they did not start work until @9am so it was no problem for us, however they do offer earplugs. Off the back of the hotel is a cool patio with grill, lights and games. It was a little chilly so we didn't use any of that but it looked like a fun spot to hang out! The only problem we had (not the hotels fault) the guest above our room had a running and stomping child. I did call the front desk and they took care of it immediately! I highly recommend this stay and I will more than likely stay again!! read more

Stayed here cause wanted to get a decent breakfast- didn't have eggs or most desirable items for the hour I sat downstairs and waited (despite being told "they are being made now". I would never select this property as a place of hotel accommodations. Our personal property was invaded and removed from the rooms even though we had reservations. I would hope this was not racially motivated and police was called to the premise. The GM Prennatha Nate Lewis did not talk to us nor make attempts to call after being informed by front desk clerk. We were informed they attempted to call us and after verifying through the mobile call logs showed no calls came from the property staff. I have stayed at many Hilton properties in US and Canada and this situation was truly a violation of protocol. First of all I was looking foward to the digital check-in taunted on the website only to never receive a digital key. That caused me to change my itinerary since checking in was move to the top of the priority list. When I finally arrived and asked why I did not receive a digtal key, their only response was they were too short handed to activate the digital keys for the reservations they had. Secondly, the place was filthy with all the trash cans full from the time I checked in on Friday until I left Sunday about noon someone got around to emptying the trash. My feet stuck to the ground of both elevator doors from customers spilling foods and drinks that no staff even noticed or cleaned up until Sunday about noon. All of this was rather disappointing considering you charge more for the rooms on the weekend while the Hotel looks the worst. read more

The lobby area is fun with a pool table, 24 hr coffee station & microwave for guest use. The room had a mini fridge, but no microwave. Negatives: NO soap in the shower (when checked out staff gave us a perk bag with soda/chips to make up for it), while having breakfast the bug exterminator came and sprayed for bugs (while we were eating?). Solutions: re-educate cleaning staff on checking soap dispensers (makes you wonder what else was not changed out in room), schedule time to spray for bugs after breakfast! Accident waiting to happen: when we left out the back door there is a fire place going with an open fire! Low enough for a 2 year old and up to reach! During the peak of corona virus, my wife and I were looking for a clean hotel. We looked through several hotels in the area and this was the most promising of them all. It is very modern inside and the customer service was great. They offer complimentary breakfast. Showers were big and clean as well as the king size bed. The rooms are tiny with no furniture so if you are only here to sleep you will be happy. I would not want to try and put a family in one of these rooms or even two people unless you are married and like the closeness. It is new and modern so that is a plus. The rooms do have nice big TV's in them. They are pushing hanging out in the lobby with strangers but why?? Would I stay here again? Only if the Holiday Inn Express or the new Sleep Inn is not available. read more
