Incredible customer service - every person we came in contact with was not only helpful but efficient. They all went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Room was perfect - clean, comfortable, either refurbished or really kept well - comfortable beds. The entire place is under refurbish/construction but they also handled it very well and it did not impact our stay. Stayed 6 nights after Christmas - absolutely could not have asked for anything better - especially for the price. This is definitely my go-to place in Denton now. read more

Probably the worst of the three budget Marriott properties in Denton, but it's still ok. Pros: Location (on University Dr., close to everything, walking distance to several fast food restaurants and Target across the street), comfortable beds, surprisingly nice little indoor pool that's sparsely used, and the staff was very nice. Cons: Rooms are dated and aren't maintained well (mine had a broken shower door), bathrooms aren't great, and the breakfast was underwhelming/barely edible. It's fine for a night, but any longer and I'd recommend either the Courtyard or SpringHill Suites instead. read more

Lovely staff, very clean, no frills. It's what you expect from these "mini chains". Room was very clean and comfortable. Ours was spacious and the ammenities were acceptable. Close to UNT. Wish we had stayed at the Embassy Suites - BUT the price was double and for only two nights... not worth the cost. Location is decent. You can walk to get other food - IF you are a Cracker Barrel fan (which is definitely not this grannie). read more

Massive cricket infestation. No working internet / wifi for all the days of my stay. Clerks have no idea when internet will be fixed. On the plus side, there is plenty of parking and complimentary breakfast for you and all the crickets. read more

Contrary to another review, there is NOT a restaurant on site!! There are plenty of them close by, but nothing located there as we found out when we checked in and were hoping for an easy dinner without leaving. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. I was very appreciative of the free water bottles found in our room upon checking in. read more

I stayed here a couple days. Quick check in, upgraded room, very clean/comfy from what I saw. On the second night, the internet didn't work. Of course the front desk person has nothing to do with that anymore and you gotta call an 800 number for help. I didn't have time, ended up not using it. Worked great the first night. Parking can get tight if you come back late, but there is some room in the back lot. Room price was reasonable. Staff was friendly and quick. read more

Good room very clean and check in was a breeze. The snags were in two areas. I booked the reservation directly with the property. They said they would send me an email confirmation, but nothing ever arrived. The second problem I had was in the room. The phones had the message light flashing and would not allow me to hear any messages and would not clear the message. The staff had no clue how to address it. read more

If you like to be comfortable, treated nicely, breathe clean air then DO NOT STAY HERE! The bed killed my back(personal preference I know) . The bathroom has mold in it with a bad patch work done pictures were taken. The elevator stinks like BAD mildew. The breakfast staff was inattentive and never wanted to restocked the items with and hr left of breakfast service..... and when you asked them for something the response was almost always "no more". Drove from Houston to Denton (five hours) for a cycling event. Friday night the guest above (in the area for a fishing tournament, the desk attendant told me) stomped and banged til midnight -- and then started again at 4 am. No sleep the first night -- which caused me to cut short my cycling event. I mentioned the noise to the desk attendant and asked to be relocated for the second night -- but she said the hotel was fully booked and I'd need to stay put. I was never guaranteed a particular room number; so am I to believe that every other incoming guest WAS guaranteed a paricular room and that's why I couldn't move to another room? SERIOUSLY? I find that hard to believe. So the second night, the same noise and more sleeplessness -- before having to get in the car and drive five hours back to Houston. This is not the experience I've had at Fairfields in the past. After I mentioned the noise I don't understand why the desk attendant couldn't have contacted Mr. Fisherman and told him to tone down the noise. And I don't know why every other incoming guest had a guaranteed room number -- and I didn't. Pretty good location and great beds and pillows. I just wish I'd had a chance to SLEEP. So -- pack earplugs and/or ambien or prepare to be up all night. read more

Newer hotel but not making up our room while we were out today was surprising for a Marriott property. Plus there are maybe 10 people in this hotel over Christmas. The bathroom counter wasn't cleaned. They did leave us towels. Didn't clean the sink. Didn't make the bed... I called the front desk to let them know about it and I get excuses... Nothing else really to say about that. Sad, as this was a nice property but if this is the service now I think I can find another hotel to stay at. Plus the elevator smells like water was spilled and is now moldy and musty. For what a room cost at this property there are lots of hotels that would care about the details...and that really is what is important. Once you stop caring about the details this becomes a lousy property. (On their way) I hope someone from Marriott sees this and makes this hotel fix their issues. read more

I've stayed here a few times now and the rooms may not be super exciting, but they are very clean and the beds are comfortable. I've had a couple of minor issues in the past and they've always been taken care of immediately by the staff. Booking online is super easy and I've never had an issue. Breakfast is standard hotel fare (yogurts, cereals, a selection of muffins, and they do have a waffle iron with batter to make your own waffle, and of course coffee and tea). It's ok, but again, won't blow you away. I wish there was easier access to get back on University going east. When traffic is heavy this can sometimes be a real problem. read more

It's a nice hotel. Great location, convenient to a nice shopping area and restaurants. The staff is friendly and the rooms are nice and clean. The memory foam beds are very comfortable. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the walls are paper thin. Every footstep, all of the hallway conversations, the kids screaming and running, the vacuum cleaner in the next room and the walking in the room above you can all be heard clearly in your room. I'm probably going to stay elsewhere next time I visit Denton. read more

**UPDATE** After posting this review, I go a call from the general manager who offered me an apology and points because of the troubles. Thanks to the hotel for making it right. My review goes from a 1 to a 3. There are moments in life where a review just needs to be written. After a long day's work and coming back early in the morning, I was awoken at 8am by the sound of hammering metal, sawing, construction guys yelling at each other and loud scraping on the wall...RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE WINDOW. Thankfully I had the blinds closed because they're walking back and forth outside and I'm on the second floor. Needless to say, it's quite creepy and annoying. I called the front desk and asked them if they were seriously having construction done at 8am and was put on hold. When they came back online, I was told that they "apologized but their general manager said that construction was scheduled from 8am-5pm" and then silence, waiting for a follow up of something to make this better. Nothing. No relocation to a room that wasn't being worked on, a chat with the general manager, hotel points, a free soda etc...anything to have made this better. I'm now getting ready to checkout of this mess and hopefully stay somewhere where I can get a decent rest with staff that is the least bit considerate to what is happening. Why they would let this room be rented while they're LITERALLY WORKING OUTSIDE THE WINDOW and starting at 8am...it's beyond me. If I knew it would be like this I would have rented a nice, comfortable room on a construction site in Tijuana without anyone knowing someone was staying in it who may want to sleep...oh wait, I already did. Don't expect a warm, welcoming stay here. read more

Our favorite part of the Fairfield Inn was NOT when we realized the lotion and shampoo that was left for us in the bathroom was already used (see picture) but was returning to our room at almost 11:00 pm to see that it wasn't cleaned. When we called down to say that we needed more towels because our room wasn't cleaned, we were told we could come down and pick some up. When picking them up, we were asked if we forgot to take off the privacy sign on the door. Which we know was not the case since we actually checked the privacy sign before leaving to see if we needed turn it to "service please" but both sides are for privacy. We even left a tip for the cleaning people on our pillows...which will NOT be the case tomorrow. There are plenty of other hotels right around the Fairfield...we won't be back! read more

Worst customer service ever! Had some really noisy people next to me so when I went to complain they offered to move me? I asked why not move them? Apparently they had complaints against them in the past so the staff knew these people were a problem but were protected by the manager. So I decided to check out but they couldn't give me a cancellation document. When I insisted because after all we put men on the moon almost 50 years ago they became abusive and threatened to call the police if I wouldn't leave. I saved them the time and called them myself! Stayed in the Best Western next door. Still don't have the cancellation, time to call the credit card company!!! read more

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! We had been camping all weekend, so to go from sleeping in the dirt to this amazingly comfortable bed was heaven. The room was spotless, the TV had great channels, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They even had Beth Marie's ice cream for sale in the lobby! The continental breakfast was great and we felt the price was very reasonable for how awesome of condition this hotel is. This is by far my new favorite hotel in Denton. We stayed here on our way west during June 2010. The hotel was clean and seemed rather new, and is conveniently located adjacent to a Cracker Barrel restaurant. Our room was a king with whirlpool and featured a spacious walk-in shower. We would certainly stay here again and recommend it. read more

Ok, so this place isn't going to blow you away, but it has everything you need and even goes the extra mile in a few areas. Fast friendly service at the front desk. I was checked into a room on the main floor, which ended up being my only major complaint - more on that in a moment. The room was spacious and well designed. They obviously have done some updates recently. I had a very nice sitting chair and footstool. The room also had a large flat screen TV, mini-fridge, microwave, and personal sized coffee pot. Fresh brewed coffee and hot water for tea is also available all day in the lobby. The bathroom was roomy and very clean. I know its a small thing, but they offer Pantene shampoo/conditioner and Vaseline lotion. Better quality then other hotels in this price range. They also set out a little "vanity kit" with a few cotton balls, q-tips and a small nail file. Nice. The shower had very hot water and great water pressure. All that I look for. The bed was very comfy, great pillows with a variety of firmness, and soft sheets. I crashed pretty quickly. Here's where my one complaint comes in. My first floor room ended up being located directly across the hall from the housekeeping quarters, and starting at about 6 am, they started going in and out of there incessantly letting the door bang shut after them each and every time. I thought I was going to lose my mind. It did, however, force me to get up and get an early start on the complimentary continental breakfast, which ended up being much nicer than I expected. A do-it-yourself waffle iron with fresh syrup, orange and apple juice, and big variety of muffins and bagels with choices of jellies, cream cheese, peanut butter, etc., fresh fruit, and a fridge stocked with milks, yogurts, and several types of microwavable breakfast sandwiches. Really, really nice. Overall, it was just what I needed in the middle of a road trip, especially having incredibly easy access to the highway. I would stay there again. read more

If there is a better hotel for two nights I would like to know. The room was extremely CLEAN and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The TV and the heater was first class,and the day rate was very reasonable. The front desk, house keeping, food prep, and management were excellent! Always friendly at all times of the day. My kids brought their blankets with them on our trip and housekeeping always kept them guessing on how they were going to arrange them on the beds. Just a nice touch to show us they care. Eh. Husband and I stay exclusively at Marriotts when we travel for points reasons. We stayed here while in town for Easter visiting family. The room was okay but the housekeeping staff was very loud in the hallways every morning. The biggest complaint though was that the hotel smelled (reeked really) like mildew. It was AWFUL. Husband and I essentially had to hold our breath. The staff was friendly enough, but there needs to be something done about the hotel asap! read more

The hotel was clean, quiet, and the staff was courteous. However, I had booked and prepaid for my room on Priceline, as I am a single mom traveling on a budget. Unfortunately, this hotel charged my bank card for my room despite the fact that it was prepaid. Sadly, this happened to be the last $140 in my account. I was left without money for food or to travel home to my daughter. I am stuck here in Denton until my refund is credited to my card. They tell me it will be late next week. This has been a horrible experience that has left me in a desperate situation. Will never use Priceline or this hotel again. read more

I stayed here with my daughters for four days while our apartment was being prepared for move-in. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I utilized the free printing and faxing service a couple of times. The free breakfast was nice, and included eggs, cereal, a variety of muffins, and a waffle maker my five year old daughter loved. The location is great, too, as you are within walking distance of Walmart, Sam's, and all of the chain restaurants located in the Rayzor Ranch shopping center. It is a very clean hotel with comfortable beds. I booked this room on Priceline for an awesome price. We were very comfortable and had an overall pleasant stay.The mini fridge and microwave in the room came in handy for my girls. read more
