Me and my family stayed here overnight on our way to Texas. We made reservations in advance because we read some of the reviews and looked at the photos. I must say the photos do not look like the actual inside of the hotel. It is definitely false advertisement. The only positive was the guy working the front desk who was nice and did his best to make our unpleasant stay better. Our room smelled awful when we walked in it, it was do bad I immediately went to the front desk and asked if we could get another room on the 1st floor because of all our luggage. He came to our room acknowledged the smell but said it was probably strong cleaning supplies. It smelled like sulfur to me. Unfortunately, there were no rooms available on the lower floors. We went to dinner right away and when we came back to pull out the sofa bed. It was worn, had the springs sticking out when you sat on it and there was no bedding in the room for it. The guy at the front desk accommodated my request for sheets, blankets and more towels.(There were only two towels in the bathroom).The sink looked like it had not been cleaned, had water in it but dried water spots on the faucet and around the sink, the lock on the door looked like someone tried to pry it open, there was a giant spider web on the light shade, the room was very old and did not look clean, etc. I could go on but I really want to forget the experience. We paid over $200 for a night stay and it was not worth the money. Do yourself a favor and don't stay at this Fairfield location. We've stayed at other Fairfield locations in other cities and had a good experience. You would be better off staying at the Motel. 6 right next door to this location. It definitely looked cleaner. The last complaint was the breakfast in the morning. It was not good at all. I have attached pictures and emailed the general manager about our experience. read more

We have been here a few days now. When we checked in at 1:00 am (MT), we were greeted with a happy, welcoming front desk clerk that was so sweet. Especially after having been on the road for a little over ten hours. We weren't aware of when breakfast ended but let me just say that the woman that runs this part was so kind. We came down after 9 and she went out of her way to offer yogurt and water to my son, and another guest, that had already been locked up. We took all of the hot food that was left at this time as well. She didn't have to do that. Very kind, friendly and professional staff. I honestly feel that the employees truly like working here. Stayed at this hotel for three nights while I was on vacation. The room was clean and the bed was super plush and comfortable. It looked like there were a lot of business travelers staying here, including federal government workers and contractors. The walls to the hotel room were quite thin because I was pretty much able to hear my neighbor's business phone call word for word. The complimentary breakfast was well-stocked with good selection. They had items such as English muffins, toast, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit, cereal, instant oatmeal, waffles, coffee, tea, and juice. Stayed at this Fairfield Inn on 1/30. It has to be one of the worse Fairfield Inns that I've ever stayed. Sheets didn't even fit bed. Horrible breakfast! "Medium" coffee and only French vanilla creamer. You have plenty of lodging options in Las Cruces DON'T stay at the Fairfield Inn. read more

I'm from new mexico so I know service can be different here from the rest of the country. This hotel set a new low for my expectations as a guest. The hotel has serious problems with housekeeping that management doesn't want to address. Above all else the number one priority should be a clean room, and my hotel room was far from clean. The room was small and the shower had some obvious signs of mold (grey grouting behind the sink). The bed was abnormally soft and the linens had evidence of a stain. The gap between the room door and the hall was absurdly large, meaning any sound in the hallway was easily heard in the room. I was awoken several times by activity in the halls. The worst part: each day housekeeping did not clean my room. When I complained, I was rudely told that I had put up a do not disturb sign (I didn't). They begrudgingly offered me a paltry 250 point credit 'as a courtesy'. They claimed to check with their head housekeeper who said I refused service (I didn't) When I replied that perhaps the housekeeper either erroneously or purposefully marked that down, I was ignored completely. Based on my experience I can not recommend staying at this hotel. If anything goes wrong, the management might ignore you and certainly wont fix the problem. read more

If you're just passing through New Mexico and need a clean, comfortable place to lay your head, you may really want to consider lodging at Fairfield Inn. This property was in the process of renovation during my stay. Hallway and staircase (across from) by my room was clearly in early stages of remodel and not very tidy. It would be irresponsible to knock this property. What I can say is that I was subject to higher noise levels than I would have liked. Sound can pierce walls rather easily but if you're a heavy sleeper such as myself, this is a non-issue. My room was nicer than anticipated, just what you can expect from a Marriott property. Amenities include a pool, workout room, complimentary breakfast and wifi. While my interaction with hotel staff was limited, I can vouch for their professionalism and hospitality being above par. Overall, I can honestly say that I would definitely have no hesitation staying here again. It's a decent option and I would only assume will be much better after their property renovation is completed. read more

I've been in and out of a lot of hotels in the past year. Who knew having a kid would get me out on the road more than ever before. But that's a story for another day. Suffice to say I know what I want out of a hotel, and the Fairfield in Las Cruces delivered the best hotel experience I have had recently. I was worn out and strung out when I arrived. The staff was friendly and cooperative, right down to getting me a razor to replace the one I had forgotten to pack. When I decided we would need an extra night in town, they were able to book me a second night in the same room, no need to pack up my stuff and move to another. The lady in charge of the breakfast in the morning was extremely kind and attentive. The second anyone took something from the buffet, she instantly replaced it with a fresh item. She would go around the room with coffee refills, throwing out trash, etc. She was a whirlwind, definitely a testament to how much the staff here cares about their guests. Check out was a breeze. We took our time in the morning and made it out by noon. I have absolutely no complaints about my stay here. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone traveling through the Las Cruces area. read more

Run don't walk to a different hotel. This is by far the grossest and dirtiest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Not picked every single towel in the room was dirty. The chairs in the room all looked like they had bodily fluids on them. We did not do a deep look on the beds but I assume they are dirty too. How did anyone working here look at this room and say yes this in good enough shape to rent to someone. My dad woke up twice feeling like bugs were crawling all over him. I woke up this morning with a runny nose ans my chest hurts. I am disgusted at this property. This felt like we were staying at a disgusting motel not a Marriott property. I will be reporting the hotel to Marriott. To management of this property do better. You need to pay more attention. You have embarrassed your brand. After bringing this to their attention the manager did comp the room and is giving us points, not sure how much that will be yet, but it's too little too late. read more

Once again another hotel with room fixtures that barely work. Although I'm happy when they even have a fridge, there was no freezer portion to keep my bottles frozen for my cooler. The toilet barely flushed. The bed was comfortable enough but the AC was awful. I kept waking up sweating to death despite having it cranked to 66°. There is a short walkway right over to Uno Pizzeria to eat. Breakfast was decent having eggs, biscuits and gravy, and fresh oatmeal with toppings. And the young woman working the front desk the late shift (I checked in around 7pm I think) was super awesome. read more

This hotel was a great stay. Our room was upgraded and the staff was kind. The only negative was that the pool wasn't working.

Definitely one of the nicer places in this area.... my halfway point from San Diego to Texas. Pleasantly surprised by the room. We checked in later and the guy was super short staffed but handled it all in stride. Extremely friendly front desk guy who was very cheerful and accommodating. My only complaint would be the dirty exercise room and the VERY limited breakfast ( luckily there are a ton of food choices in the area) ... but I'm sure if they had a full staff working that wouldn't be an issue. Will definitely chose to stay here again if in the area ... thanks to the staff! read more

We had a short visit at this hotel but each time we encountered the staff, each was very courteous and extremely helpful. I appreciate that Customer service is their first priority. Our room was nice and very clean, but the bed was just a little bit too soft. The towels are great, as well as the Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner. I would not stay on the first floor again as we were too close to,the front lobby. We used the pool area and were pleased that it was clean and neat. They offered a small buffet breakfast but we did not eat breakfast in the hotel. We would stay here again. read more

What a delight. Truly. From checking in so late in the night & being greeted as if I was the first customer of the day. Staff was pleasant, warm, professional and courteous throught my stay. Room was a wonderful treat. I have expectations from a Marriott property. They were not only met, the Las Cruces staff so raised the bar!!!! Breakfast was fresh and well maintained. My friends and I rolled into this Fairfield Inn at midnight after driving 12 hours from Utah. We were visibly exhausted and just ready to go to sleep before having to wake up at 6 the next morning. We were greeted with the cheeriest and friendliest man we've ever encountered. Lupe not only checked us in efficiently and quickly, but he was enthusiastic, asked about our day, and treated us as individual human beings rather than just another customer. Furthermore, when we got into our room and realized our shower didn't work, we called him and he quickly moved us into another room with a working shower. 15 minutes after moving us, he called the room to check on us and make sure everything was working. In the morning, when we were walking out, he remembered who we were and gave us cheery "good mornings" and friendly smiles. The customer service was incredible and Lupe is definitely part of the reason I am giving this place 5 stars. He made our experience at this hotel wonderful. Besides that, the rooms were cleaned and very spacious. The beds were extremely warm and comfortable (we found it difficult to get out of bed in the morning!)! The breakfast in the morning was delicious. This is definitely one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had! read more

Meh - that's what I have to say and I used to be Marriott Platinum, so I have stayed at a lot of Marriotts. This property is spotlessly clean, I will give them that. But, IMO, way too expensive for a Fairfield with few amenities. They said they have a hot breakfast ... well, maybe you could call it that but I would not. I was greatly disappointed with their breakfast offerings as compared to other Marriotts I have stayed at. Personally, I would not stay at this property again. read more

It's a very nice hotel with comfy beds and pillows. Nicely decorated and appointed rooms/bathrooms. The staff were great. The only thing we weren't impressed with was the breakfast. Runny scrambled eggs, no coffee (they ran out and were too slow to refill) but there were other things like waffles, cereal, bagels, toast, fruit ... So, all in all, I'd recommend it. read more

Stayed here on a visit to see family. I forgot some stuff in the room and went back to get it later, the lady at the front desk said there was nothing she could do. She checked the housekeeping log book to see if they had written down anything that was left in the room and there was nothing. She was not able to check the room or housekeeping office. Poor service, the breakfast is not that great for spending $200 a night on my room. Very dissatisfied! read more

Everything had been recently updated to the point of it seeming like a brand new hotel. Great service and a very nice breakfast spread topped off the experience. Very friendly staff, clean rooms, near restaurants and highway. Excellent continental breakfast. They had an assortment of cereals, bagels, milk, and juices. You had a choice of sliced fresh fruit, waffles, and toast. Definitely a.better breakfast offered here than in other hotels I've stayed at. Our room also had a full size fridge, microwave, and pull out couch. They also have a washing machine and dryer on the first floor near the ice machine. Our stay was very comfortable. read more

My family and I checked in yesterday. Passing through as we make our way to Canyon Lake, TX. I couldn't have picked a better place. I wish we had time to visit the city and the room. It was a very comfortable stay. Rooms were clean, bedding smelled fresh and clean, beds were super comfortable, pillows were perfect, it was furnished with all the nice Amenities: microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator, flat screen tv, plenty of towels and a sofa bed which my daughter used and said she had a good nights rest. Staff was friendly and continental breakfast was bomb! So much to choose from. I will definitely come back if I'm ever back this way. read more

Nice hotel and comfortable beds. What's NOT great is the constant road noise from the highway. Make sure you book it with Marriott. If you use a third party site and you ask to change rooms because of the excessive road noise, you'll be told NO sorry nothing we can do. I asked if they had ear plugs then, NOPE. My family stayed at this hotel for 5 days while we attended the NMSU Orientation and assisted my daughter in moving into her dorm. The front desk clerk Lupe, allowed us to have an early check in because we arrived at 6:30 am. He was even gracious to offer us breakfast while we waited for our room to be ready. During our stay, he assisted us in getting empty boxes so we could pack up my daughters belongings to make it easy on the move. The rooms were very clean, smelled fresh, and the beds were very comfortable. Housekeeping did a great job in maintaining this during our entire stay. The continental breakfast was good and the coffee was excellent. I know I will be staying at this hotel when I return in November and in May. read more

Friendly front staff, rude General Manager (Luis Cordero). We were up all night for the softball tournament in town. When we got the opportunity to go back to the room, our room was left with no sheets, no pillow covers, blankets everywhere. Trash cans full, and yes, if you have worked in this industry you would assume they would be back. They must have forgot, I had to go get sheets from the front desk. Made my own beds and emptied our trash. The rest of our group said their beds were made but the trash cans were still full. Very disappointing. Will not stay here again but mainly because the General Manager was rude to us from the beginning. I have photos of this ridiculous experience as well. read more

The front desk was very nice and even called my room after my arrival to make sure everything was ok. The room was clean and had everything I needed, though was not exceptional. The buffet, however, would get a 2 as it was not well maintained - several items were out and what was left was pretty gross. read more

All the staff I interacted with was very helpful and friendly, especially Uriel at the reception desk. There is a nearby elevated hiking/biking trail just behind the hotel, which almost looks like a levee. Perfect for q long walk. There is also a small gym inside the hotel. I'll stay here again for sure. My rate was $94/night, before taxes. read more
