The Spa without Walls experience was a treat far beyond the majority of the high priced other resorts along the Kona Gold Coast. A really incredibly trained masseurs professionals with good energy and support staff as well as an outdoor garden accompanied with the sounds of wild birds and ocean waves that lap you into a trance like state. We recieved a kamaaina discount which we are grateful for. Mahalo to all who made our birthday experience amazing. The champagne offered at the end was a treat. The Fairmont Orchid has honestly become an annual tradition for me, and at this point I don't see that changing anytime soon. The resort itself is absolutely stunning. It feels like full luxury from the moment you arrive. As soon as you walk into the open air lobby, you can see straight through the entire property, the pool, the palm trees, and the ocean views all lined up in front of you. That first impression really sets the tone and is one of the standout features of the resort. Another major highlight is the private lagoon beach. It is calm, swimmable, and perfect for all ages. They provide complimentary snorkel gear, and you will almost always see sea turtles in the water, which makes it feel like a true Hawaii experience. Poolside service is also great, with drinks and snacks available, and there is even a taco truck that is perfect for kids or a quick casual bite during the day. Located on the Kohala Coast, the views are some of the best in all of Hawaii. Whether it is sunrise walks or sunsets by the water, the setting alone keeps me coming back year after year. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well done. Not overly flashy, but they do not need to be because the environment does most of the work. The resort layout flows really nicely, from the open air lobby to the oceanfront paths. Dining is a big plus here. Brown's Beach House is the main restaurant and definitely a highlight, great food, right on the water, and an amazing sunset vibe. For breakfast, Orchid Court has a daily buffet that is consistently solid and easy. There are also a few other options on property, so you are not limited. Amenities are strong across the board. The gym is 24/7, which is a big plus. The spa is great and adds to the overall experience. If I remember correctly, even the pool runs 24/7, which is rare and makes late night swims a nice option. What really stands out is the value. It is definitely on the higher end price wise, but still not as expensive as places like the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. If you time it right, Costco Travel sometimes has great deals, like pay for four nights and get the fifth night free packages that can also waive resort fees, and provide some additional resort credit. I have so many great memories here, which is a big reason why I keep coming back. The only downside is that in recent years they have started charging for parking, which feels unnecessary at this level. Overall, I love this place. The setting, the consistency, and the overall vibe make it somewhere I look forward to returning to every year. Easily five stars for me because of the memories, although the parking would probably bring it down closer to a 4.5. Overall one of the best resorts in Hawaii, just keep in mind about the resort fees and parking! read more

4.4 Beautiful hotel as we were there for a conference and got a little bit of a discount one of the rooms in the south tower. It was a room with two queen beds even though we needed just one King but surprisingly there's a bathtub./shower and a walk-in shower. This was fabulous as we didn't have to wait for one of us to SHOWER and can do both at the same time. I don't know if all rooms are like this. FOOD in the area is either very expensive at resorts or buying your own at convenience stores(not many) not much in between except the Brown's deli near the pool, which had good masala doughnut like fillings with Lilkoi coconut or chocolate. The Ulu chips were hard and crunchy in the turkey sandwich we had was really good. RESTAURANTS we ate at brown Beach House before sunset and gorgeous view and Bochatan Japanese fusion it's good and expensive as well Were surprised the pool seem more crowded than the protected lagoon, but both that areas of reclining chairs and never ran out. The protected LAGOON was especially nice which are very private compared to some of the other public beaches we visited. We got one hours free of snorkel equipment daily there we got to swim w a turtle and groups of fish. Parking was included in resort fee already and was not an excessive walk out of the hotel We had a gorgeous WALK north of the hotel along the coast by the golf course in so many mini lagoons with lava and people picnicing there. The petroglyphs nearby going south along the coast were resorts, and beautiful. These customers are nice, especially during sunset, although I'm told also during sunrise. Although you could probably technically stay here during your whole vacation, you could eat and see and experience those things been here for two days. We had a CAR and drove to the East Coast. Hilo for volcano tour and went to Kona several times as well as south of Kona for the Manta ray viewing at outrigger hotel. Additionally, we drove to. haupana beach /westin hotel shares about 10 minutes north which seemed like a regular beach and instead was able to use our parking pass to drive about five minutes south to the more secluded and private waialea beach with pockets of sand trees and areas for families to sit in go in the water. May need some water shoes to go in as the black rocks bordering are hard on the feet but we saw turtles and snorkeling was nice there read more

I've stayed at a lot of nice resorts (Ritz, Four Seaons, etc) and this one ranks way up there. Enjoyed it better than the Grand Wailea on Maui, much better food and the lagoon beach with all the turtle sightings was magical. Check out the petroglyphs within a short walk. Free shuttle around the greater Mani Lani resort. Price is no bargain but on par with what you'd expect at a 5-star resort in Hawaii. read more

We have been coming to the Fairmont Orchid yearly for the past 6 years and it just keeps getting better. As a Silver member we get early check in and late check out. They let us stay in our room till 6pm because we had a 9:30pm flight. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with all the amenities you desire (coffee bar, beautiful reusable water bottles, le Labo toiletries). Service is always 5 stars from the room cleaning staff to pool attendants to all the restaurant servers. The breakfast buffet is a perfect blend of western and Hawaiian specialties. We also enjoyed the beach restaurant and upscale Browns. We had two 11 year olds and they had an extensive children's menu above and beyond the usual fare. At Brown's they have a filet mignon for kids that was amazing. The beach is one of the best on the island with calm and clear waters for excellent snorkeling (turtles, colorful fish, eels, sea urchins). We are already looking forward to our next trip! read more

The bay that this hotel sits on is an underrated snorkeling spot, and your hotel resort fee includes snorkel rental. Staff was friendly, and checkin went smooth (though did take a while to get through the line. The room was clean and modern and elegant. The TV interface needed updating and to include streaming, but otherwise everything else was perfect. The on-property restaurants were expensive but delicious. There is only one small hot tub, which fills up quickly, which is the one downside. Water stations were available in plenty of locations and you get a nice double-wall stainless water bottle in room. The service is horrible, the workers look miserable here and they never smile, it's like we are owing them a favor by staying here. We got the suite and all the furniture is dirty. The outside furniture is filthy- I don't even want to sit on it. Room service last night came cold & uncooked. So far I can't find one thing I like here. This is a gorgeous hotel situated in the Waikoloa area. I always enjoy dining at the Binchotan restaurant. The service is excellent and the setting is like paradise. All the food is good but I enjoy the prix fixe selection. On this visit in Oct 2025 the website still lists the Happy Hour prix fixe, Ohana style prix fixe, and premium Ohana style but only the Happy hour prix fixe was available so I was a but disappointed. Regardless, we still enjoyed all the courses. Each starter, entree, and dessert was exceptional. Since I did not stay at the hotel on this visit, I was especially pleased that dining at the restaurant provides free parking validation. If you're traveling to the big island and staying on the Kona side, I recommend visiting the Fairmont for any of their restaurants. read more

My family and I spent the morning at the beach in front of the Fairmont Orchid. While we weren't guests of the resort, Hawaii law mandates that all beaches are public. Out of courtesy, I informed two friendly staff members that we were setting up our four chairs and umbrella well away from the resort's cabanas. A few hours later, a manager sent a staff member to tell my wife to take our umbrella down, claiming the entire width of the beach was "their property." This is simply incorrect. When I returned from tidepooling, I moved the umbrella back to our spot--well within the public zone near the waterline. We stayed for several more hours without further incident. It's disappointing to see management try to intimidate the public into giving up their right to use the beach, especially when they know the actual property boundaries. Again, review is a reflection of the recreational manager of this resort, not the staff members we encountered. read more

Amazing location! A famous quote of location, location, location! I truly believe that this is one part of the truth. The location was great and you can get amazing views of the beach. There were amenities that we enjoyed from the snorkeling, beach aerobics, palm frond weaving, hula class, culture walks, and the garden experience (just to name a few). We learned about the history of the island not limited to petroglyphs (carving on hot lava). The resort have places to have a great meal but shuttles are provided to the nearby shops if you wanted to explore off property. The whole experience was great and I would mind coming back. We got a two queen bed room. The beds were comfortable. It did get pretty hot at night. It would wake me up because it was just muggy. I do take my own fan on vacation, so this helped. The room also has a couch and table. They have complimentary nespresso coffee and tea. If you like tea, they have the best earl grey tea that I have had in quite a while. There is a mini fridge that worked well. The closet has enough hangers. An iron is provided. A safe is available. Bathroom: spacious. It had a standing shower on one side and a tub with shower on the other. The vanity had two sinks. The toilet is separated by a door. They had plenty of towels. Toiletries include shampoo, conditions, shower gel and lotion. The grounds: beautiful. You really feel like you're in paradise. Beach: small, but perfect for the amount of people there. There was plenty of lounge chairs. No natural shade was available. They did have some chairs with cover for rent. You can snorkel right off the beach and see some pretty fish and turtles. Towels were available at the rental hut. They do have waiter service. Expect resort prices. For two cocktails plus tip, it was $50. Pool: loved that it was open 24/7. Plenty of lounge chairs. Amenities: I used the gym. It was clean with plenty of equipment. They had towels, including cool towels. Tips: there's a two grocery stores nearby. read more

This is an absolutely beautiful resort slightly north of Kona. We booked it through a Black Friday 25% off deal, which was still $600+ per night. However, this place has it all. The beach area is awesome, great for snorkeling & seeing sea turtles and whales! We had breakfast at the coffee shop the first morning and saw a full whale breach while sitting looking at the water. Saw them another day while walking on the beach. The pool and hot tub is awesome! Drinks are great but tiny for $20 a pop. They do give you leis when you arrive but no one greeted us and so we walked up to check in and the lady was like... oh they missed you. Then she gave them to us. Would've been nice to be greeted upon arrival. They do give you really nice keepsake water bottles because they have filtered water stations throughout the property. I thought this was a nice touch. Their concierge is also very helpful. They will book tours for you and were nice enough to print our fishing licenses for us. We didn't eat at any of the on site restaurants while we were staying because there were places out and about we wanted. We also missed the hotel's luau and had to go find a different one. They only do their on Saturday. Well, our flight got delayed and we didn't arrive until very late. Not their fault but it would be nice if they had more than one per week. Parking is free. That was nice because we did have a rental car. All in all, I don't know if I would stay here again because we are on the go people and the money just wasn't worth it. However, if you literally don't want to see anything else on the island, this is great. read more

If you're looking for relaxation on the big island, this is the place to come. I love this place so much. It's so tranquil and just perfect and every way. I love that there's a little bay and it's great for getting in the water and near the waves but not having to deal with the validity of the ocean because it's a little protected. I love the grounds and only escaping. It's just so beautiful and so many different places to just sit and enjoy the view and enjoy the ambience. The staff are really nice and really go out of your way with the aloha spirit and it shows. It was a bit challenging getting to my room because it wasn't ready when I came here, however the staff only made up for it and I even got an upgrade. I will say that the rooms are OK. I am pretty disappointed with the bathtub. It would be nicer if that was a Jacuzzi tub but I have a regular bathtub and I have no desire to even look at it. There was a little dust in my room when I first arrived, however once I left and came back, it seems like someone came in and helped clean things off a bit more, which was nice. The food's relatively good, but it is on the pricier side. I still think it's worth it. Parking is also pretty expensive, and it doesn't matter if you valet or self-park. You're gonna pay, but I think it's still worth it to have the convenience of having a car if you're from out of town. If you're able to get a good deal through Costco or even your credit card, go ahead and do it. A lot of places will offer a resort credit in addition to breakfast. read more

They have a waterfalls and beautiful plants everywhere! Shout out to Sampson because he was amazing! His customer service skills are beyond exceptional!! we miss him already, and consider him a friend! He would give us suggestions and helped to make sure we understood everything that we were able to do... he went above and beyond to make our time in Hawaii magical!!! we went snorkeling and he brought our children beach toys when he saw us playing on the beach with no toys! Every time we walked by, he greeted us with a smile and talked with us!! he definitely will always be remembered! When we were checking out, Jeff made the transition so easy! He helped us with all of our bags, and we had a lot!!!! he moved all of our bags for us from our room, even our backpacks and our surfboard and he was so kind he stored our refrigerated food for us in the refrigerator until it was time for us to leave for our flight! read more

We had an amazing stay at the Fairmont Orchid during our trip to the Big Island. The resort was incredible, and our experience from start to finish was unforgettable. I'm writing this review to especially commend the retail manager, Christine. After we got home, we noticed the stitching on a souvenir bag we had purchased began to flare. I called the retail shop, and she immediately took care of it--no hassle, no stress--and mailed us a replacement right away. What can I say, my wife said this is where we needed to be for our honeymoon and she was right. Service from the hotel staff has been great. Everyone greets us and says good morning or 'mahalo' We did not enjoy the 3rd party company hosting events Cetera or something. They kicked my wife off of part of the beach claiming they had sole access for a few hours. Eden, the MOD, immediately informed me that was not the case and offered to escort us back to our spot. Unfortunately we had excursions the next two days so instead she gave us a free cabana for the day by the beach 2 days later! What a treat!! We both burn easy, and they picked a special spot all by itself self along the outer cove. Wife is more than thrilled. Thank you to the staff for handling this with grace. Couples Massage was great and super relaxing, Casey and her male colleague (forgot his name sorry man) were professional and we felt in good hands. Trinity took such great care of us by the beach during service hours, and convinced me to pay for the last day! Overall will be coming back, snorkeling here is so amazing so many colorful fish and reefs, not to mention the numerous sea turtles that hangout here/pop their head-sup in the middle of the cove. read more

Beautiful resort on the Big Island. Pricey, but definitely book the "concierge service" Gold experience. It features a lovely lounge with breakfast and afternoon canapés, with drinks and snacks anytime on the go! The pool was nice but there did not seem to be a hot tub. We booked an ocean view room and were "upgraded" to one that was supposedly better, thought it seemed more like a partial ocean view overall. It was still very lovely, but unfortunately 2 of the nights they hosted big events with music and very loud noise! The manager sent an advance notice to call her with any concerns and both nights we called about the noise around 9pm but the manager never returned our call. The front desk attendants were very friendly though. Browns restaurant onsite is excellent. And nice to have a private beach on the property. read more

Beautiful oceanfront resort with a large pool and beach access. Great for families with the small cove and access to beach equipment. The property is beautiful with perfectly manicured gardens, waterfalls, and the beach. Our room was spacious. The bathroom was huge with a stand up shower and bathtub, double sinks, and separate toilet. Each room has a large balcony as well. They provided a nice baby crib upon request as well. They have three restaurants on site, a spa, and fitness center. Parking is included in the resort fee. They also have a shuttle to nearby shops. Staff were very friendly. The resort is a bit isolated and 30 minutes from the airport, so you do need to drive to go out to eat or do sightseeing seeing. read more

We got off to a rocky start upon arrival. All of my requests upon booking were ignored. They said they didn't receive them on their own system. I had to accept a double queen room instead of a King in order to be in the tower I requested. And near my sister. After a very long flight it took over 45 minute get me checked in with no line. Room service had an hour and half wait for food. I ate a muffin I brought on the plane for dinner. Went to sleep hoping things would improve. Requested feather free pillows( due to a severe feather allergy) from manager. I'm still waiting for them. Too bad I'm already home. Room was filthy. See photo of layers of dust on clock cord and bed frame rails. Yuk! Had lunch at Hale Kai. Upon seating they ask about food allergies. I informed them of Soy allergy. I again informed the server Sophia C who acted surprised. When she brought the banana bread and fruit plate, she said "they used soy oil to coat the bread pans". She then said well I don't like to eat dairy or wheat. I said well mine is a real allergy, not a choice. She left the bread and walked away. Traveling with my sister and her 3 year old. Food for under 5 at Hale Kai is free off kids menu with adult meal, which we had. Server Sophia C charged me anyway. I did not notice until the following day. I then compared my check to my statement. Surprised to see a 33% tip! Never ever would I. I asked the front desk to see the signed check. I had made an addition error. Instead of correcting the total, the server Sophia C increased her tip!! It equates to stealing. Ask for any server but Sophia C if you stay at The Fairmont Orchid. Booked a partial ocean view room. They should rename it to barely ocean view. Or lean over your balcony and see the ocean view. See photo. Virtually no where but the edge of the balcony to actually see the ocean. The Fairmont should have been better, done better, performed better. I've stayed at worldwide 5 star hotels. This really is very lacking. The manager compensates me $200 room credit to spend on the first night for the room issues. I never even got to her about the other issues. Disappointed over all. read more

I had been wanting to stay at this hotel for a while but it was so expensive. One day I got an email from Travelzoo for a great room rate for this place and no resort fee. I figured it was a good omen. A friend and I stayed for three nights. The rooms need updating but I was already aware of this. Our room was clean and had a spectacular garden view plus a peek ocean view. It had a retractable clothesline over the bathtub. I have not seen one of those in a hotel room in a very long time, but it was very handy for wet, bathing suits, etc. We were greeted with leis. I have been traveling to Hawaii for many years and I've never gotten a lei greeting so that was really nice. The staff was great. Housekeeping came in each day. They give you a complimentary refillable water bottle. Food and drink on the property is expensive but that was expected. Room service was prompt. The grounds are so beautiful. Gorgeous flora and water features everywhere you look. The lagoon is nice and pretty private. The pool area is very large. The hotel was very quiet and one of the staff told us we picked a great time. Apparently we were there between two events. It was very nice to have nothing crowded. This is visually the most beautifully landscaped hotel I've ever stayed at. Obviously, a lot of money and effort is spent on the beautiful landscape, flowers, and walking paths. The paths are designed to maximize the space by creating circular routes that have you pass by waterfalls, pools, bridges, manicured lawns, and exotic flowers and vegetation. We were at the hotel with a group tour arranged by Carousel Travel, in conjunction with a local TV show, "Twin Cities Live." As part of the package, we had access to an very good breakfast buffet that included eggs, fresh fruit, granola cereal, bagels, and a variety of breads. Our room overlooked the lush gardens and we heard the sound of the waterfall every night, which was very pleasant. The noise from the open patio door was minimal. The room itself was very nice, but not luxurious. They did give us an excellent metal, insulated thermos to use (and keep). The thermos could be filled via various bottle filling stations with excellent, cold water. Eating options at the hotel included a variety of restaurants and snack areas, although all options were very expensive. We did not eat at any of these restaurants for dinner. However, we ate a few lunches at Brown's Deli, which was expensive and meh in terms of quality. The highlight of this hotel definitely are the grounds. If you want to spend a lot of time at the hotel in the sun, this would be a great place to do it. If you are looking for better value, in terms of room and food, I'd seek out other options. read more

The only thing that needs to be added is a more diverse shopping place inside the building for purchasing drinks, snacks, etc. It's not a significant complaint; this is more on my wish list. Endless amounts of positives here! We started our check in with being greeted with leis and warm aloha. The receptionist not only checked us in early with no extra charge -- we also got upgraded to an Oceanside room. The food was all phenomenal from the tiki bar, room service, and Brown's fine dining. Special shout out to Chelsey, our server, who went above and beyond with helping us understand the Hawaiian culture and providing us with our food in a timely manner. We appreciate the authenticity. Mahalo nui, Chelsey! The concierge, specifically Jonna-Lee, also gave us a little private info about the island and how to get the most from the island. Her brother, Isaiah, went out of his way to providing exceptional service for our bellhop services with our rental car. Not to mention the manager of the Hertz rental where the rental car place is just steps within the hotel, who also upgraded us to the jeep wrangler. I have been blown away by the experiences by each person who works here. It felt so personalized and the aloha spirit is absolutely present. A little side note - there is a phenomenal little snorkeling beach here. It has a ton of colorful fish and we saw a turtle! It is pretty active. I saw more fish and turtles there compared to tunnels beach in Kauai. Edit: one thing they could use improvements on is their efficiency. We order room service 3 times. 2nd time they came immediately. The first time took them about an hour to deliver the food. After an hour for waiting on utensils for the 3rd request, we just canceled the order. At the end of the stay, my partner requested baggage pickup and after an hour of waiting we just took our baggage ourselves. Also, we are tipping kind of people where just coming to the room we give at least $5 and up to $20 if you give a service - so it wasn't a lack of service bc of a lack of reinforcement - it's really an efficiency thing. We would walk by the same trays of food & such for a good part of the day before staff removed them. In fact when we checked into our room there was half eaten food outside our door. Neither housekeeping that got our rm ready nor the person who brought our bags up removed it. I complained to the mgr. Who apologized & yet later that day still items in the halls. Beautiful hotel, excellent opportunity to borrow their bikes to ride around the area and to the nearby small shopping food store with great poke bowls. Hotel is comfortable, self parking is a bit cumbersome and far, as I mentioned they also have bikes to rent. A petroglyph field is close by - please be careful to bring water and wear decent shoes to walk over the bumpy trail. Also be respectful of the area and don't leave any trash on the trail. Shopping is great - right next to the hotel. food at the restaurants, was convenient though we enjoyed the poke bowls from the supermarket. Brunch in the lanai was a highlight. We will be back just to come for the relaxing brunch. read more

We came here for a family vacation and had a really nice stay. I can see how some guests may feel the hotel is old/outdated. Built back in 1990 the look and feel of the hotel is traditional; dark woods, carpeting and marble everywhere definitely grandiose. I think they renovated in 2024 but hard to redo a lot when the bones are "heavy". But the rooms are nice and clean and came with two refillable water bottles with water stations throughout the hotel. There is a large pool with plenty of lounge areas. The closed off lagoon is perfect for calmer waters especially for little ones. There's a reef that surrounds the lagoon great for snorkeling. I believe each room comes with 2 free snorkels/fin rentals for one hour everyday of your stay-ours did but double check. Food was pricy but to be expected, some dishes were better than others. Some cocktails, better and stronger than others but overall not much to complain about. The main reason for the five stars was the customer service. We found a special rate for a standard room but at check-in after having a genuine conversation with the front desk agent she upgraded our room to a partial ocean view. No tips or tricks, just a kind gesture to make our stay more pleasant. Once we got to our room we did encounter an issue with another hotel guest that I did notify to the front desk. Nothing dramatic, just a call to let them know. We went about our next two days when I received a follow-up call from the hotel manager asking if the issue was resolved. I told her it wasn't to which she apologized and then offered us another room upgrade. I was shocked. We at first declined her kind offer until we bumped into a bellman we had befriended and he said we were crazy not to accept. So we did and now I have a deeper level of appreciation for the Fairmont Orchid. There was no obligation to even move us to the room they did but because of amazing customer service it made our vacation that more memorable and we'll definitely be back. read more

A beautiful resort property with lovely views and multiple options for food and drinks if you're willing to fork over the cash for the pleasure. I recently visited with a couple of friends and we ordered sushi and drinks. The server noticed the kitchen made a wrong roll, so she graciously comped us that plate and eventually brought the correct roll. We ordered a round or two of drinks. I was sorely disappointed in the size of the $17 rose--a tiny glass with a small pour. When the bill came ($150), it was somewhat surprising. It seems there is no kama'āina consideration, unfortunately. If you visit, come for the live music and the ocean sunset views. read more

We stayed here all 7 days of our vacation and are so grateful we did. My partner and I booked through Costco for a September trip. It was an excellent deal. Why the Fairmont, you ask? Well, so much can be said about the amazing grounds, the location, etc... but the reason I choose Fairmont will always be SERVICE. This Fairmont met/exceeded our expectations, for which we are so appreciative. We were allowed to check-in when we arrived (quite early, around 1pm). The staff was kind, welcoming, and genuine. The leis were beautiful. The room was clean, spacious, and offered a dedicated shower and a shower tub (convenient when one wants to bathe and the other partner wants to shower after the pool!). The TV had modern capabilities. We had a golf course facing room. It was a bit dark at times, but we didn't really care, since we only really were in there to nap/sleep. It felt very private. Daily room service and turndown service were appreciated and offered a luxury experience. The complimentary water bottles were quality and used throughout our whole trip. The buffet in the am was awesome. Ranges of tastes could be accommodated. Slightly varying menus each day added some fun. The crepes were my personal favorite! Staff was attentive and kind. The restaurant next to the pool was a bit pricey for the value but had good options throughout the day. I was slightly disappointed with the drink quality, especially per the $20+ price tag. However, the staff was kind and fun (noticing a theme?). Browns was delicious and offered gorgeous views at sunset. I recommend reservations for Browns at dinner as it gets quite busy, even in off-season. The location of this hotel is lovely. Convenient stores nearby and incredible petroglyphs literally at the end of the golf course. It really feels special. Another huge shoutout: the cabana people. We SO enjoyed speaking with them throughout our trip. They were so helpful and fun. I can't recall the name of our fav (you know who you are!) but they really made our stay next level. We don't ask for crazy stuff and bring our Aloha, and the Aloha was reciprocated. The grounds are immaculate. The live-in cat, Ocean, deserves a raise. We pet her every night we saw her. I could go on and on, but I would like to note that I loved it so much there that I planned another trip with my mom for next month. We can't wait to see everyone at the Fairmont Orchid once again! read more

What more can be said about any Fairmont property. We are members and try to frequent as many Fairmont properties as possible and this one is definitely upper echelon! The grounds are superb, the amenities were amazing and all the food and drink you need is located on the property with the restaurants being deemed as some of the islands best!They have a thorough calendar of activities for entertainment and education, and every night there was live music. The best part is that the Fairmont Orchid is ideally situated to give you immediate and hassle free access to some of the areas best beaches, snorkeling sites, cultural sites, and more. This has been an amazing experience so far. I was actually here for work and brought along the girlfriend to experience the Fairmont and big Island! Unfortunately was only here for a short time. James at the front desk took very good care of us and even checked us in a bit early. That was nice as we were excited to head over (2 hr dive) to the volcano national park to check out the lava at night. The pool and the beach were very nice as well! Make sure to swim out and go snorkeling. Really good margarita by the pool btw! I and the girlfriend had dinner at browns and the food was not only good but Christian was very attentive and took good care of us! Kudos to him! All in all the staff was great and the grounds are fun and beautiful. Lastly the rooms here are very nice and the bed was super comfy! We will sure to be back here if we stay at big island. Also big special shout-out for housekeeper Nathy in the south wing for cleaning our room to perfection! read more

Stayed during Christmas 2024 to New Years. This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. Beautiful grounds that are well attended. Stayed in the 1 bedroom suite and it was perfect for our family if 4. Very spacious and clean, the maids were great! We were greeted with chocolate strawberries, fruit and cheese plate and a bottle of bubbly. The reusable water bottles are nice. Also there were little gifts a few days in our room- a Fairmont beach bag, deck of cards, chocolates and macaroons, and another bottle of champagne was such a nice touch really made us feel welcome. Food on site was great, and service was good. They offer activities for guests which was a fun way to spend some time. Shuttle to the mauna lani stores- grocery store over there had everything you need. No complaints and will definitely be back. read more
