Wonderful rain head shower and detachable handheld shower head. Liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner provided, with Hawaiian scents

Clean, Cozy and Comfortable inn in the heart of Waimea. A must-stay if visiting Big Island. Away from all the higher price resorts in Kona. They do offer Kaimaina rates, free wifi, no resort fees, free parking, free breakfast. Walking distance to great restaurants and shops in the area. Check in: I checked in around 6:30pm. They are open until 9pm, so late check in is not something one has to worry about. I was greeted by a very friendly staff member who told me about their open food, coffee, tea, and drinks area and hours, as well as recommended places to go for dinner. My only complaint is the early check out, which is at 10am. Room: Wonderful, newly renovated King size deluxe room. Upon entering the room is a common area with a table and chairs, open clothes rack with hangers, iron and board, mini fridge, ceiling fan, clothes drawer, and 40" TV. King size bed was very comfortable with soft bedding and pillows. Bed side lights with night stand clock that offered USB ports to plug in devices for charging. Bathroom: Beautiful walk in shower with both a rain shower and detacable shower head. Water pressure and hot water was perfect. Liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner were provided via a dispenser. 2 sets of towels were provided that were clean and soft. Common Food area: The use of their fresh ground coffee and espresso machine is offered between 7am - 9pm. Tea machine is also offered as well as various juices. You can use your own reusable water bottle to fill it up using their ice and water machine. Although I did not use their breakfast service, breaksfast is included with your room between 7am - 9am. Overall: A great location with very comfortable room and friendly staff makes it a wonderful place to stay when visiting the Big Island. A definite must stay and come back place!

I came across this inn on a quick search through google as I was looking for last minute places to stay. I grew up on the island my entire life and didn't know this place excited. I am so thankful I came across Kamuela Inn. We arrive a little after the sun set so the drive way was a little difficult to find. We drove up to a cute sign that greeted us, parked our car and proceeded to the office. We were quite surprised at the newly renovated room with its paniolo decor. Even the parking lot has hitching posts. The grounds were sprinkled with Christmas decor that added to it's charm. The room was equipped with a shower with a rain head, a tv that has a full range of motion to adjust to your viewing needs, a table to enjoy some food, and a small fridge. The next morning, we woke up early to partake in the continental breakfast, which so happens to have some rice, eggs and some sort of meat. I would recommend this place to any one who is looking for a quiet get away from the hustle and bustle of Kailua-Kona and Waikoloa.

The best quick description of the Kamuela Inn I can come up with is "Simple Affordable Quaint Hipster Cowboy." My family stayed at the Kamuela Inn for a few nights during my cousin's destination wedding on Hawaii Island in a standard room and kitchenette suite. The rooms are relatively Spartan cowboy themed, but some of the larger units do come with mini fridges and gas stoves if you're inclined to do some home cooking. Most importantly, the rooms are clean. The showers appear to have been renovated and come with a rain shower head that is heavenly. Add in the fruity body wash and I suddenly have thoughts about renovating my bathroom. The beds are comfortable, including the twin bed I got stuck sleeping in. The rooms also come with fancy colorful digital clocks that give a wealth of information and including USB charging ports. The room rates are WAY cheaper (like 50% less) than Mauna Lani or Waikaloa hotels, but you also don't get a pool, fitness center, business center, and you're very far from the beach. You are however, very close to a variety of good and affordable eateries in Waimea. There is a newly renovated covered outdoor eating area in the back of the inn. The inn itself in general is well maintained, clean and relatively quiet. There's not much of a view, but that's expected given the location. It's low key, low profile, with super chill staff. Kamuela Inn says their stay includes a complimentary continental breakfast. Talk about sandbagging. I've never seen continental breakfast with fresh cooked rice, multiple sausage types, scrambled eggs, five different types of bread including English muffins and four types of artisanal butters (their Lilikoi and coconut butters are amazing), in addition to yogurt, juices, scones, and muffins. I was able to fashion my own Egg McMuffin out of thinly sliced chicken sausage on a toasted English muffin with scrambled eggs. Total Winner. My biggest issue with Kamuela Inn was the supreme lack of signage on the road. It's incredibly easy to miss the turn into the private road to the hotel. My second biggest issue is the lack of AC in the rooms, especially in the warmer months, forcing you to leave the windows open which then allows lots of sound and light from the blinds into the room. My third was that the bathroom sliding door latch was super hard to secure and unsecure, which led to jokes about keeping trapped in the bathroom and my family just not using the lock. All these issues are manageable and all in all, I would definitely stay here again should the need arise.

Perfect holiday getaway!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks (during Thanksgiving) at the recommendation of an acquaintance. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and informative. We felt very well cared for and safe. The inn was very clean inside and out and breakfast was always tasty. After Thanksgiving the inn was transformed into a gorgeous holiday wonderland. We were even allowed to participate in their annual Christmas wreath decorating contest that supports a local non profit. We will definitely stay again as we feel part of their ohana. Mahalo and Happy Holidays to everyone! The Johnstons (Aaron & Toni)

We love this Inn! It's newly renovated so it's clean and well designed. We got a large family room (2 twins and 1 pullout sofa bed) with a fully stocked kitchen (even has a rice cooker!) The shower has good water pressure and we especially loved the Ola bathroom products and Paya soap. The passion fruit scent is just intoxicating! Beds comfy and a very good variety at the complimentary breakfast (cereals, eggs, fried rice, white rice, sausage, oatmeal, fruits, toast, bagels, juices, etc.) Lots of outdoor seating. The price is very reasonable for what is included. The staff is friendly and helpful. not a lot of noise from neighbors but some birds were singing all night long so I had to put on ear plugs lol. Will stay again in the future!

Like having little table to eat, games, etc.

The Yelp reviews were spot on with this motel. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed so much we added an extra night. Only bummer was we had to move rooms, packing everything up, putting into car by checkout time 10:00, and not being able to check back in until 2:00. But we took off exploring for the day so it wasn't a huge deal. The staff all accommodating and friendly. The rooms are newly updated ( although some furniture looked loved, lol) but everything clean and had the necessities. The bathroom had nice shower area w/nice hair/shower gel products locally made. We had the deluxe room which had a mini fridge. No microwave or coffee maker as they are in the dining room next to check-in desk. Nice coffee machine, ice/water, ( teas/cocoa), microwave to use until 9pm. They offer a tasteful complimentary breakfast from 7-9am, we expected juice and maybe some fruit/prepackaged muffins etc but it had juices, cold/hot cereal, scrambled eggs, and each morning a rotation of a breakfast meat, a variety of breads/bagels to toast plus scones and muffins! It was a nice little assortment that got you off to a good start. Good coffee too. Be sure and tip the server in charge that morning, they deserve it although I didn't notice anyone thanking them. We stayed on top (2nd) level first 3 nights, was pretty quite entire stay. I will say moving downstairs and being so close to front desk it was a bit noisy at times, especially in the morning but at least not during the night. They also made the whole property look so festive for Christmas, which made it feel special. And lastly, the beds!! Can't say enough about the mattress, sheets and pillows, haven't had that quality/comfort in a hotel in long time. No A/C but you didn't need it, at least not this time of year... got very cool in evenings with some strong breezes. There are 3 windows in the unit so you definitely can't regulate the air flow/temp. Definitely would return and recommend!

Clean great staff, peaceful property. Will book here again. One night stay wasn't enough.

Last time we stayed one night was early 80's. Sleepy WaimeaSaw by chance that Kamuela Inn sponsored Fire Department in some of their life saving exercises. Newspaper gave information about new owners and renovations being done and are continuing. Then went to check on Yelp. Finally checked with Ohana with ties to Waimea. We made reservations online super easy. Requested ground floor if possible. Day of check in. Driveway is on left of Moa Kitchen. No signage. Up driveway there she was! Registrar was ground level. She gave me the policy's of the Inn. And surprise they serve a free continental breakfast! What a wonderful touch you don't see anymore! I also questioned nearby place to eat for dinner. She suggested Moa Kitchen located right down driveway and also Red Water Cafe across the street. That's another review! Room was fabulous! Clean!! King size bed and room fully renovated! Ceiling fan over bed! Flat screen! The bathroom was newly renovated to the max! Some amenities were Ola Tropical liquid bath soap and shampoo/conditioner! Fabulous! Ironing board and blow dryer! Bed was great! No air conditioner but this is Waimea/Kamuela the beautiful breezes! It was quiet at night too! The breakfast was great! Tables inside and Garden outside with tables! They also have a coffee machine and juice machine! It is just a wonderful way to start the day! I believe they also have washer and dryer available for a small fee! The staff were friendly and very helpful! So great! We definitely would like to stay there again!

We had a perfect overnight stay here for my husband's birthday right before Christmas. The Paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) decor throughout the place made for a cozy, country feel - and the Christmas decorations were just adorable, with cowboy boot stockings hung on the stairs. Well-kept room with a fun plus of a selection of Hawaiian shampoo scents. And the bed sheets were so comfortable! (We stayed in the deluxe king on the second floor. I believe this room was to be renovated soon, so we cannot wait to come here again for our next "stay-cation!") Welcoming, courteous staff. Delicious continental breakfast including rice, Portuguese sausage, eggs, and a great selection of local breads to enjoy out on the patio. Lastly, the Kamuela Inn is in convenient proximity to plenty of great food places and neighborhood stores within walking distance.

We fell in love with this place several years ago and were so glad to go back and stay for a graduation party for our niece. We booked the 2 bedroom king beds suite which was perfect for our Ohana. The free breakfast in the morning is a bonus and the friendly staff is always willing to answer any questions you have. This is a must stay if you're in Waimea. We look forward to returning someday.

Beautiful Country style Inn.

Check-in was warm and the complimentary upgrade lent a genuine sense of hospitality -- one the stay itself never lived up to. The air conditioning was broken and clearly overdue for servicing. Housekeeping was inconsistent at best: personal items had been moved in ways we found inappropriate, bed linens went unchanged for stretches, and the towels bore visible stains on two different occasions. Most concerning was a basic hygiene failure we witnessed directly: a housekeeper handled the trash bin and then, without changing gloves or washing hands, proceeded to handle and place our fresh towels. That is not a lapse in polish -- it is cross-contamination, and at a property of this caliber it points to a gap in training and supervision that guest-facing warmth cannot paper over. We've shared the details with hotel management and trust the Fairmont brand team will want to look into this. One expects a Fairmont to get the fundamentals right. This one did not.

Our only slight disappointment was the service from PIH staff...while they were very quick to respond to questions and a couple of in-stay requests, they were not overly accommodating. This did not dramatically impact our stay, but I expect better from a luxury stay provider. Here are a few updates this particular house could use to make it an "over-the-top" luxury experience: 1. Update the cookware as it is showing extra wear, 2. Replace some snorkel gear that isn't fully functional, 3. Add a few throw blankets for extra comfort, 4. Make an attempt to be more clear about what "extras" are provided for the actual unit being rented (i.e. exact model of baby gear included, staples for meal prep such as spices, small utensils, etc...). We had a fantastic time at the Hilton Kingsland on the big island…read more This was our first time on the big island and staying at this hotel! So I'm always honest with my review so I will start with negative I would say for the most part most of the staff members at the front desk were very, very friendly and helpful. However, when I first called to ask about our room being ready or not, the person in the front test was very rude and actually not helpful at all. I was a little disappointed, and then when I called again the next day to call for a bell hop to pick us up, we waited 25 minutes for a bellhop to show up. It wasn't until the maintenance guy saw us and he's the one that actually got us a ride over there. So that was a little disappointing. I feel like there's not a lot of consistency with the front desk personnel. It's a hit or miss. The other very small negative this is just not a big deal, but there is no pool side service meaning there's no menu or anything at where you can order food and drinks at your pool chair. You have to walk all the way to the bar order it and then bring it back. It's a little inconvenient and I think it would be nice to have that little bit of extra service. OK, here is some positive feedback: We got a two bedroom villa and it was absolutely incredible for our family of three. It was nice to have two bathrooms. The layout was really great. We had a large balcony and I had everything that we needed for basic kitchen essentials. It was very clean and the person that cleaned our room every day did a fantastic job. I also love that they do service every day and then and then halfway through your stay depending on how long you stay, they will do a full cleaning. So I just loved coming back to our room every day after a pool day and beds were made, fresh towels were out and it was tidied up. So another great thing is that they have a golf cart that will pick you up from your building. If you don't wanna walk to the main lobby area where the main pool is and waterslides. He just called the bellhop every time you wanna get a ride and they come right over. If you wanna go to the nearby shopping center or other Hilton property, there is a Hilton shuttle that will take you there and sometimes it takes a little bit longer cause you do have to pick up other people but it's a great air-conditioned shuttle. Me and my son actually took it to the Queen's marketplace and got some shave ice. It was the day that my husband had the car and so it was nice to have another transportation option for us to do something and so we were not stuck in our room all day. They have the shuttle service schedule that you can pick up from the front desk. But this property is amazing. I love that it's so intimate and it has four waterslides at the clubhouse location and then there is another pool with the waterslide next to building 23 and 24, and then there's another pool next to building two. They also have an adult pool area, which I did enjoy for a day where I read my book and it was quiet and nice. Overall, this property is fantastic totally made for families, and there is nearby shopping and dining within a five minute drive or like a 30 minute walk. We will definitely be staying here again if we come back to the big island!

The people who work at the bell desk, and drive the go carts and shuttles made the stay amazing. It was nice and clean. Wish they had more food options but we had a nice stay. They also donate all your food you didn't eat or open to the local food pantry which is awesome.
