We've camped here with our friends for several years as one of our annual golf trips. We just love this campground! Dan and the staff have been very welcoming. This is a similar story from a lot of other customers. Dan was very rude to myself and my 80yr old mother. He yelled at my 15yr old daughter. Put his stinky fingers in my face and called the police and animal control on us. The police came while I was packing up and looked bewildered as to why they were there. I said I was asked to leave and I am but a 15 minute pack up is unrealistic. We left and now I am seeing this is a pattern of his. Beware of this place. Don't plan on ANY fun while you're there. No rugs, no awnings, and beware of the grass!! Just go somewhere else really. read more

I don't leave reviews normally. But the owner at this place has prompted me to. My parents were staying there with a group of people and everyone was following the rules of the campground. My family is big on respect so we tend to do just that! The day we were leaving my brother and I with our children stopped to have lunch and say our goodbyes to our parents. Mind you we see my brother once a year. Well as we parked the what I'm assuming is his manager came up and got in my brothers face about going over the speed limit. (He was going 8mh. 5 is unrealistic even school zones full of kids is 15) My brother stated we were leaving soon and that he wouldn't do it again. (Which I heard him say.) The employee then went to the owner and lied saying my brother had stated he didn't care about the rules which prompted the owner to then get in his face. When my brother didn't bow down to him he kicked him out along with "the white car that came in with him" (me) Even tho I didn't say anything. I was just trying to ask my dad where I should park. By this time I was irritated because I had a bawling 3 year old who wanted to see her nana and papa. I will throw in there that they don't even follow the speed limit in the golf carts and others were driving thru there faster than 5mph. I have noticed he posts on reviews that are negative to try to make excuses or justify himself but there is no justification or excuse for owning a place and allowing you and your employees to get into someone's face. I have been in customer service for 20 years. Since my first job and I can't fathom how he allows those actions. Stay at your own discretion but he is not a good human being! God bless! read more

My husband called this RV park this morning to see if they had availability for us to stay tonight. The gentleman on the phone said yes, they did, and to give a call if we were going to be later than 6:00 p.m. Around 4:30, I called while we were on the road to notify them that our arrival time was 6:20 this evening. They guy said no problem, just call as we were getting off I-90 and someone would meet us at the office. I called again as we were on the off ramp to say we were almost there. I recapped with the man on the phone what the gentleman had said to him that morning. This man said he would never have said anything like that and hung up on me. I was stunned and did not understand why he was being so nasty. I told my husband what just happened but he decided to go to the RV park anyway. We pulled in and looked to see if it looked like anyone was in the office and it was dark. There was no one outside anywhere so we pulled into a pull through site. My husband was going to go try to register once we got parked. However, just as he was getting out of the truck, the man who had been on the phone sped over in his golf cart and ordered us off the property. We agreed to leave and started looking on our phones for an alternative RV park. This man started yelling at us that he wanted us to leave immediately and would not allow us to look for an alternative RV park while safely parked off the highway. The park was barely occupied so this made no sense to us as to why this employee, who seemed to be excessively angry, would not allow us to spend the night. We have a new 35' Montana Legacy 5th Wheel so it certainly wasn't our equipment. Avoid this place at all costs! A one star review shouldn't even be considered on how bad the service was. the owner of the RV park was a complete and total jerk. He was so completely disrespectful and a disgusting man. What happened? Well, yesterday, my friend and I were sitting in our trailer and our moms where sitting around a campfire that was propane and had rocks in it so it was not harmful. The owner of the park comes up to our mothers and sees we have rugs outside of our camper to keep the dirt out and have some shoe storage. He came over the first time and asked our moms if the rugs where ours. They both said yes and he said I will let it slide just this once. Then he inched up in his side by side to our trailer and asked if this was our family's rug. My mom said yes and he said he would like it picked up. Our moms agreed and said they would. Of course they were enjoying their time around the fire and didn't jump up right away and pick It up. A few minutes later he comes back to see if we had cleaned it up. When he saw we didn't just yet he started yelling. Saying how if we want to disrespect him then we could hook up and leave. My mom said she would pick it up and she did. He said he wasn't leaving until he saw we picked it up. At this point me and my friend heard the sound and jumped to see what was going on. He sat there in his truck and waited for us to put it away. What I don't understand is now my mom and her friend was being disrespectful. They said nothing and did as they where told. My dad and his friend went to go talk to the guy the next morning and he told us to get the F off his property and leave so we did. First off let me say that our group made reservations in December of last year and we locked in our reservations for our selected spots to ensure all 4 of our rigs were together. Upon arrival in July, we checked in to find out that the owner, Dan, has separated our group for those that we're extending their stay, it was one excuse after another, and with attitude and rudeness. Seriously! What does "locked in" even mean. 2 of us ended up on the other side of the park, he couldn't even try to put us in the same area. Dan tried to make amends, and apologize and provided our lock fee back, however; his actions impacted our stay. The sites have dead grass, no picnic tables and limited trees, but the bathrooms and laundry facilities were well maintained. The lack of customer service has made our decision to not come back, we can't confidently trust their booking. read more

Overall I'd say the camp ground is just okay. It certainly filled our needs as we were heading back to Idaho, but wanted to stop and explore Butte on the way. The view from the back row is amazing. There are very few trees or grass and it gets pretty hot during the day. The entire park is gravel and the spots are relatively level. There is a laundry facility, bathrooms and showers, which were all nice. The hot springs resort is close by and the pools were very nice, but that is a separate charge and they're not connected to the park. But you will get a discount ticket upon checkin. However, we got off to a rocky start with our group of four campers when we checked in. We had booked four beautiful spots in the back row in "January" and even paid the $10 lock fee. We had hoped to spend the last two nights as a group enjoying the beauty. This was the last stop of our crews 12 day camping trip. As we checked in, we were told by the young lady at the counter that we had been separated. Since I had made the reservations, I stepped up to question the girl as to why we were moved. At this time, Dan (owner) stepped up and got a little snotty with us and said that he moved us and we don't need to harass his employee. He explained that two of our group was moved due to a pipeline crew staying longer bc their job wasn't complete. His attitude didn't get any better and he gave us back out $10 lock fees. I understand his reasoning for moving us, but we should have been advised prior to arriving and we could have went somewhere else if we chose to do so. But what good is a lock fee if it doesn't really work. Dan did come by later and made peace with us which was appreciated. His attitude seemed to change for the better. Overall we had a good time but only wished we could have been together as booked. Having group dinners was a little more of a challenge, but we made it work. read more

I am writing a "guest" review, but I wasn't given an opportunity to be a guest. Like many other reviews I have read about this place, the owner/operator/manager (whatever he is) is a mean spirited nasty jerk! On our way there, we called 3 times to say we will be a few minutes late. Call #1 in the morning, "manager" says to call if we will be late. Call #2, (late afternoon) the "manager" tells my wife to call when we get off the freeway. Call #3, and we are now leaving the freeway, "manager" hangs up on my wife. Call #4, nobody answers. Upon arrival, we see nobody, the office is dark, and no late checkin board. So, we went to pick a spot and then I figured to walk back to the office. In no time at all, the "hospitality" manager comes racing up in his golf cart and tells me the spot I selected isn't open. I ask, "Where can I park?" He says, "You're not staying here. Now go!" I pulled out of the spot and stopped to look for a different RV campground. At that point he comes up again and says, "Get off the property NOW, and find another campsite from out on the road.", at which time he runs his golf cart into the left fender of our 5th wheel. I said, "Have a nice day." and immediately left out of concern for him doing something worse. Given a choice in the future, I will sleep in my car rather than go anywhere near this poorly run establishment. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. There are plenty of gracious and courteous hosts at other RV campgrounds nearby. read more

Any minor infraction of his lengthy list of rules is not greeted by a friendly warning... instead you get a 'this is your only warning next time you are out of here!" Drive 7 mph in his 5mph area? Out of here! Have a tire 2 inches on the grass (if you can tell where the weeds end and the grass starts)... out of here! Dan the owner is diligent in keeping the park clean and quiet. Strict 5 mile per hour rule that makes it safe for the kids to ride their bikes around and play on playground. Nice fenced in area for dogs to run. Showers are clean and set up nice to shower & dress. If you like staying at a park where the owner takes pride and doesn't allow BS this is for you. read more

If you are looking for a quiet peaceful RV Park with beautiful surrounding view this is the place for you. It is conveniently located only 2 miles from the 90 freeway just a few miles away from downtown Butte and Anaconda Montana. Many parks claim to be "Big Rig Friendly" but Fairmont RV Park truly is. You can maneuver the park very easily with a 45 foot motorhome with a tow car and never disconnect if you want. They have large level site and the trees are not an issue. In the newer section we had good power, great water pressure and even free WiFi. There is a playground for kids and a small general store for any last minute things you may need or have forgot. You can always tell the difference in RV Parks when the new owners are true RV enthusiasts. We had a wonder stay and really enjoyed the hospitality of the entire staff. So whether you are tent camping or glamping in any size motorhome or travel trailer Fairmont RV Park has got a great spot for you. Have a Blessed Day !!! read more

I doubt that this is his park as he would be nicer if it was costing him some money. The most unfriendly staff or owners I have ever met. They threatened to call the cops because my son had pulled onto the grass to help me load the table we used for my grandsons birthday. I took pictures of 7 other campsites where vehicles were parked on the grass. Ironically he was parked on the grass as he was threatening and rude. Terrible place dusty and too cheap to water grass or have a nice bbq or tables. I wouldn't call our camping spot grass. It was obviously not cared for the weeds they call grass were brown. He got out of his ranger to threaten my son until he realized my son was buff and towered over him. Owner was certainly looking for an altercation. We had to wake my infant granddaughter who was sleeping inside our trailer because he kicked us out. I will be sure to spread the word to all the places we camp how awful they are and am calling resort about the reflection they put on the resort by being so awful. I made sure to take pics of our spot before leaving. You can't be too careful when dealing with crazy. Anyone looking for a green, lush place to stay. Go to Deer Lodge. Dan the owner appears to suffer from extreme small man syndrome. My wife and two small kids and I were staying at the hot springs. My Mom and Dad were staying at the RV park in their camper. On the first night we had a birthday party for my 8-year-old son. Some of my cousins, my aunts and uncles and my gramma came and we had a barbecue at the RV park. We're all Montanans, born and raised in the Deer Lodge area. My Mom called and clarified before we came out to make sure that it was ok to have about a dozen guests for the birthday. The owners said it was no problem, just have them park off in the overflow. One of my cousins got there late (~7 pm) and pulled up in the short, dry gras adjacent the parking spot. The owner, Dan, came out and asked her to move. We apologized and she moved. Didn't think anything else of it. On day two, my wife, kids and I went back to visit and eat lunch with Mom and Dad (who are in their 60s). I parked in overflow. We had a nice lunch, and then we decided to help pack up as my folks would be headed back home early the next day and my family and I would be at a work function in Anaconda that night. I pulled my truck over from overflow and - unthinkingly - backed up into the dry grass next to the occupied parking spot so I could load totes and coolers for my Dad who is less-abled and needs a bit of help (even though he won't admit it, like I said, he's Montanan, but he tore a muscle in his arm and can't lift as much as he used to). I'd been there for maybe five minutes, and had my hands on the tailgate when Dan rolls up in his golf cart and told my Dad that my pickup needed to be moved. Realizing that we'd goofed, he apologized and said we'd move it, we were just packing up. Dan retorted "everyone's always just packing up. But we had a problem with you last night, too." Basically both of us were taken aback by this, because the tone came off incredibly hostile. My Dad told Dan, he understood and that I was just leaving and that he and my Mom would be gone early in the morning, and not to worry because we wouldn't be back. Dan shot back, "maybe you can get the hell out of here now if you're going to pop off like that." Kind of dumbstruck at the tone, I said, "pardon me, sir, I don't understand, what about what my Dad just said did you find objectionable?" Dan said, "he's got to smart off about never coming back, he can just leave now." Dad and I just rolled our eyes and I motioned to my wife to load our toddler into the car seat, shaking my head. I shut the tailgate and Dan, whipped around and said, "you're gone!" Then he turned to my Dad and told him he was kicked out. I held up my arms and said, "I'm leaving -- I'd have been gone by now if you hadn't stopped!" Dan hopped out of his golf cart and walked over to me, looked up and said, "maybe I need to call the sheriff." I motioned to my wife, still buckling our daughter into the car seat, to hustle. I responded, "I'm leaving. But, I'm in law enforcement and I'm not moved by empty threats. If you think you need to call the sheriff, you do what you need to do." Dan just stood there. Then we loaded up and left. I looked through some of the other reviews of this place here and elsewhere. I know sometimes with overly negative reviews you take them with a grain of salt. Sometimes the customer is just unreasonable. Given my experience, I would say these other reviews citing outrageous behavior from the owners rings absolutely true. Buyer beware. These people are awful. As a native Montanan, I think we can do a hell of a lot better as far as treating folks. I took my family to the hot springs and dropped them off. Then went back and parked on the shoulder of the road to watch and make sure Dan didn't harass my Dad as he had to pack up on his own. Danno, what goes around comes around, hoss. read more

If you can find another place to stay, I suggest you do it. These people are basically thieves. I made a reservation here and my plans changed. I tried to cancel, with over two MONTHS notice, and they charged me a $64 cancellation fee. When I asked why, because I was cancelling well in advance and during August, they should have no trouble filling my spot, I was told it was for "administrative fees". I don't know of any other place that charges that massive amount for fees especially with that much of a cancellation notice, and I have been booking RV spots for years. Do yourself a favor and boondock if you have to and save yourself the trouble of being charged for nothing. read more

They do NOT care what this place looks like. I last stayed here about 10 years ago and it had green grass and was a beautiful place to stay. Now the only thing Dan (the owner) cares about is if you drive 7mph instead of 5. I was in the office when a gentlemen came in and explained that he could walk to other areas of the campground and get wifi but his areas wifi was not working. Dan grumbled that the gentlemen could try flipping the breaker if he wanted but that's all that can be done. I don't believe it was this man's job to go flip the breaker that would be Dan's problem. I won't be staying here ever again and if I were you I would drive a few more miles and stay at the new RV park in Anaconda. They have green grass, paved sites, AND picnic tables which is another thing Fairmont no longer has. read more

I am not one to complain about rudness, however I would like fellow campers to be aware. We put a mat out for our dogs because there was nothing but sand and dirt on the site. Next afternoon, we get a knock on our camper door from rude/mad guy telling us we already killed the roots to grass with our mat. . (nothing green around this campsite). He spent the first five minutes going over rules, okay got it, then whining about how he's lost $100,000 this summer so far because people aren't staying there (it's June), I wonder why?! He came to our camp as well as our friends (our husbands had taken the kids to the pool), and lost his absolute mind because we had our rugs on his grass...aka dirt and rocks. He had discussed he didn't want rugs on the grass upon arrival and that is why both families had folded our rugs to size to make sure they were not on grass. We assured him amongst him freaking out that we would move them. He left and literally two minutes later came back while it was pouring rain and started screaming at us in front of our young daughters, saying "disrespect me and I'll disrespect you! If you don't like the rules pack your shit up and leave!"...he would have no way would have spoken to us that way if our husbands were there, and when our husbands politely approached him about this the next morning he blamed it on us being "females". He is a disgusting pig and I hope his business goes to crap (sounds like it's doing just that by reading all the Google, yelp, and TripAdvisor reviews). He is a pitiful excuse for a human being. Also, we've been going there every June for the last 4 years and his "grass" is never mowed and looks like crap. It's not because of anything customers are doing. I don't doubt this place would be nonexistent if it weren't for being close to the hot spring, literally his only saving grace. read more

A slight disappointment with this RV Park. For the price, I expected much more from hospitality to cleanliness. They charge more than a KOA on the same block. For starters, they got my reservation wrong. Fortunately, when I arrived around 10:30pm there were empty spots available. The bathrooms and showers were old and stained. The improvements made appeared to be done by Do-it-yourself (not that I'm against that and I won't take time to explain). There was water damage in the showers because it wasn't done correctly. I'm nitpicking because we paid $60 for the night. And while I am willing to pay that price, I expect much better facilities. Oh, and they also charge $4 per pet. This park was well kept, easy to park in or 42ft rig towing our car. The young woman who greeted us in the office was friendly and helpful. The rate was about average for our 50amp site. The hook ups were well maintained and easy to use. The pads are gravel. The location is about 15 miles from a town center in either direction for restaurants, etc. We chose to walk to the Fairmont resort next door to eat at the cafe there rather than drive anywhere. There is a restaurant $$$, a lounge/bar food $$ and a family style cafe $- where we had a light meal. The food was good, the service was good and the price was right. The wifi is not great, but you can't expect much out in the country. All in all we would return! read more

New owner of this establishment has decided to not participate in the Good Sam Program. That's odd enough, but the owner assumed that we also developed strange electrical problems in ourRV that bled back to the system and shocked someone two spaces down from us. The owner was convinced that it was our issue and locked is out of the hookup without a refund. In the process he insulted us and every peace of equipment we had in our brand new travel trailer. Not a nice guy. Oddly enough this issue has never reoccurred at other parks. If you must stop here make sure you have a good surge protector. And don't let your kids touch anything electrical. read more

I stayed at the Fairmont RV park for one month in the summer of 2017. I had a spot along the pasture land at the rear of the park. While it was a quiet spot with a nice view of the mountains behind me, it was very exposed to the wind coming across the open landscape. It can be very windy in this park, so be careful putting up awnings on your RV's. All the services provided worked well. Power was good, water pressure was adequate, and the sewer worked fine. There's no cable TV at the park, but you can pick up about 6-8 local broadcast stations on your TV antenna. My spot was a large one, with plenty of space for my over-sized motorhome and car to sit on one behind the other. The base was gravel and that was fine, but the spot was not very level at all, and I don't like to use my leveling jacks to hold the motorhome level for extended periods. It wasn't un-level just left to right, or front to back, but very low in one corner and that made for some creative blocking. It's very convenient to Interstate 90, about 2 miles away, but far enough so you don't hear the drone of the big rigs on the highway. Butte is about a 15 minute ride away, and provides for most anything you can need. There's also two large truck stop style fuel stations on the way to Butte, so filling up your big rig is not a problem. The Hot Springs resort is right next door and they have lots of facilities, including a big pool, golf course, restaurant, and bar. Not sure how the pricing works for the pool and golf course. The park is well managed, and the family who run it are nice people who have only owned it a short time. Things I liked: The views are awesome. The park is generally quiet. It can get noisy on the weekends, but hey it's just families enjoying camping out. The park is close to Butte and Anaconda so some semblance of civilization is close by. The park is big, and easy to drive into and out of. Things I didn't like: Being buffeted by the wind (even in a big rig) can be intimidating, and it happened a lot while I was there. I could not put out my awnings for fear of them getting damaged. My spot was not level. Like almost every RV park I've ever stayed in, the free internet wifi is inadequate, especially at peak surfing times. read more

I have been coming here with family and friends for over 10 years. It was one of our favorite places. Today Dan absolutely destroyed that. He came up on my husband and I with an aggressive, rude attitude saying we had 2 options 1 don't speed in his campground or 2 pack up and get out. We said there was absolutely no way we were speeding. He said ok pack up and get out or I'm calling the police. I'm never had a "business owner" escalate a situation so terribly.
