The staff is attentive to your needs, the foods not half bad, most are single rooms that shares a bath with one other single room, the color scheme is calming and they are always cleaning! To have a successful recovery, in my opinion, these are the things that are most important. I had my second hip surgery this year and the first rehabilitation facility was the worst. She is not being watched to take Her pills are not being watched cause a pill found on the floor. Nurse RESPONCE she must be spitting them out. Hmmmm (must be) so not watching. Hearing aid lost .... Oh wait not lost cause it was found by nurse under her butt when her daughter showed up and oh now it's time to change her diaper. Should I go on. Make sure she gets her medication (you will have a better time with this patient!! Her room wreaking with the smell of urine is a sign of not being taken care of.

We often go visit her and eat at one of the dining rooms. Just after Christmas we had a family lunch with about 8 of us. Our server was very friendly. The food is very good. I've enjoyed their burgers, salads and salmon. Sometimes they are a bit short on staff and things take a bit longer but if you know that going in, it's not an issue. I am so happy my mom has found a place she loves to live at and a place we're we fell good about and know she is in great care.

There are…read morestill a few care givers who actually Care about the folks still here and really do their best, but there are a LOT of them who seem to have lost their zeal for this job. They have too many people to watch over and too many other chores with very little help. The ones who are running from "Cottage" to "Cottage" are being run ragged trying to keep up with the demand. The rooms are not being cleaned properly. The bathrooms appear to be cleaned only when they become Very Dirty. The residents are being left to themselves as the care givers are assisting other residents with medications, eating, going to the bathroom, dressing, or even just getting out of bed. Sometimes this can be very bad, as I've witnessed residents getting into places they should not be. Many of the people who made this place work so well are now gone. Several more have left since this change over. I would NOT recommend this place any longer!

The staffing is amazing, there are both medication techs and caregivers focusing on the residents as a team. There are licensed LVN's 7 days a week which is not standard in this industry, so these examples of staffing truly sets the cascades apart from other facilities. Additionally the reception team answers the phone at all hours and are kind and extremely professional as well. As a recent retired RN I know what quality care looks like and the Cascades has given my family the piece of mind we need and the care my mother deserves. Keep up the good work and thanks to all who are devoted to taking care of the elderly during these unprecedented times.

The one thing I would tell anyone with a loved one in need of hospice is to make the time to interview at least three companies and CAREFULLY weigh whether it's ideal to keep him/her at home or transfer them to the hospice facility, which I don't think this one even has. My close neighbor and friend was over quite a bit during the final week, and she is an talented RN who doesn't put up with any B.S. After Mom passed, she told me, "Jane, that was the worst hospice I've ever seen." I think that sums it up.

The place is peaceful and clean and the staff are very compassionate. You can visit loved ones in the hospice 24 hours per day and it is a safe facility with locked doors. Nurses are kind and well trained and the rooms are cozy and comfortable.
