Vons is staffed by friendly locals It features a Starbucks outstanding deli, bakery, produce, meat, non foods liquor and grocery departments. The store supports many local activities in the valley. When I put them in a bowl, half of them were moldy. The lettuce was brown inside when I split in half. Bag of potatoes several were rotten. Went to Vons at 8 pm, no baskets, they were being used to block off a section in store. The cashier told me to look in the parking lot (I'm 70 yrs). No customer service. No milk (sale) re stocked. 3 heads of lettuce (all bad). No frozen veggies were restocked (on a Wednesday when the sale deals should be stocked). Gals said 25 minutes so we drove into Kernville checked out the mighty Kern River before we headed back to Charlie's They were slicing our pie as I entered, perfect timing. The 8 mile drive up Hwy 155 to our cabin was tough because Charlie's pizza smelled so good.
